실시간 교통신호제어를 위한 루프 검지기의 최적형태결정에 관한 연구 (The Decision of the Optimal Shape of Inductive Loop for Real-Time Traffic Signal Control)

  • It requires the detector system which can collect highly reliable traffic data in order to perform the real-time traffic signal control. This study is to decide the optimal shape of inductive loop for the real-time traffic signal control .This loop is located at the stopline in the signalized intersection for DS(Degree of Saturation) control. In order to find out the optimal shape of loop, 6types of experiments were performed . The results of the basic experiments of loops are as follows ; -the optimal number of turns for loop is 3 turns. -the impedance values of the loop detectors are similar to that of NEMA standards -the 1.8${\times}$4.5M loop is excellent for sensitivity in actual detection range of car length comparing to other shape of inductive loops. At the experimental of establishments of the optimal loop shape, it found that 1.8 4.5M loop has the highest values of $\DeltaL$ comparing to other types of loops, It means that the range of Lead-in cable length of this loop. And this loop is highly reliable in occpupancy time. Conclusivley, the 1.8${\times}$4.5M inductive loop is the optimal solution as a stop line loop detector for real -time traffic signal control.

  • It has well known that the congestion of traffic and it's distribution. There are very important problems in the traffic control systems. In this paper, we will purpose an ITFS(Intelligent Traffic Forecasting System) which can determine the car classes and transport them to ITS(Intelligent Traffic control System). The system will be used the Inductive Loop Detector(ILD)and the Fuzzy logic and shown the effectiveness by the computer simulation.

  • 첨단교통체계(ITS: Intelligent Transportation Systems)는 효과적인 교통제어 및 안전증진을 추구하기 위하여 많은 연구와 사업이 진행 중이다. 이를 위하여 실시간으로 교통상황을 제어하는데 필요한 신뢰성 있는 교통정보를 얻기 위해 가장 많이 설치되어 있는 루프검지기를 통하여 기본적으로 교통량, 속도, 점유율 등의 자료를 수집할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내에 가장 보편적으로 설치된 루프검지기에서 추출한 차량자기신호곡선(IVS: Inductive Vehicle Signature) 자료를 이용하여 차량길이 및 속도 등을 산출하고 이를 이용하여 차종을 구분하는 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 본 연구는 세가지 Case(소형-대형, 소형-중형-대형, 소형-중형-대형-특대형)로 구성되어 있으며, 각 Case에서 전체차량을 각 Class로 분류하는 기준이 되는 차량길이 기준값을 산출하였다. 일반적인 도로구간에서의 적용을 위해 시 공간적 이식성 Test를 하여 분석대상구간 외의 다른 구간에서 차량길이 기준값의 적용가능성을 검토하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 차종구분을 통해 세부적인 교통량 정보를 수집하고 도로를 통과하는 차량들의 차종구성을 파악하여 교통운영 및 전략수립 시에 활용자료로 이용 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

이중루프 구조를 갖는 다중모드 무선전력전송 시스템 (Multi-Mode Wireless Power Transfer System with Dual Loop Structure)

  • 본 논문에서는 이중루프 구조를 갖는 다중모드 무선전력전송 시스템을 제안하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 다중모드 무선전력전송 시스템은 두 개의 서로 다른 주파수 6.78 MHz 자기공진 무선전력전송 모드와 13.56 MHz NFC 모드로 동작하는 외부 루프 모듈과 두 개의 서로 다른 주파수에서 동작하는 자기유도 표준인 WPC 모드와 PMA 모드로 동작하는 외부 루프와 연결된 내부 루프 모듈로 구성된다. 실제 상용 스마트폰 배터리 커버에 장착하기 위해 페라이트 시트를 포함한 $45{\times}90{\times}0.35mm3$ 크기에 맞춰 설계 및 최적화 되었다. 제안된 다중모드 무선전력전송 시스템은 기존의 자기유도방식 표준에 해당하는 WPC와 PMA를 지원할 뿐만 아니라 6.78 MHz 및 13.56 MHz에서 20 dB 이상의 반사손실 특성을 나타내었고 6.78 MHz 자기공진 무선충전 환경에서는 공진코일 간 70% 이상의 효율 특성을 갖는다.

  • This paper presents a mew design of an inductive position sensing system with high sensitivity. The designed system consists of the driving coils, position-detecting coils, and closed loop formed magnetic blocks. To obtain high sensitivity we design a symmetric and closed loop type measuring system with small air-gaps. The elements that affect the system characteristics are turn ratio, excitation frequency, air-gap size, capacitance effect, and load resistance. By experimental investigation, the influences of these elements are examined and the system parameters are selected. The sensitivity of the newly designed system is greater than 2800mV/(V mm) and the linearity error is below${\pm}0.01%; in; the; range; of; {\pm}200{\mu}m$.

Intepretation of Faradaic Impedance for Corrosion Monitoring

  • A polarization resistance is generally used to estimate the corrosion rate in the corrosion monitoring by an electrochemical impedance method. When the Faradaic impedance has a time constant due to the reaction intermediate, the electrochemical impedance describes more than one loop on the complex plane. For example, the electrochemical impedance of iron in acidic solution shows capacitive and inductive loops on the complex plane. In this case, the charge transfer resistance and the polarization resistance are determined at middle and low frequency ranges, respectively. Which should be selected for corrosion resistance in corrosion monitoring, the charge transfer resistance or the polarization resistance'? In the present paper, the above-mentioned question is examined theoretically and experimentally.

Automated Wireless Recharging for Small UAVs

  • We develop a wireless, contact free power transfer mechanism that is safer than the direct metallic contact and robust to imperfect alignment on landing at the base station. A magnetic field is created using inductors on both the transmitting and receiving sides. We use the inductive wireless recharging to increase autonomy and decrease the sensor interference by reducing the inductor loop size. By locating four independent small receiver loops and corresponding four circuits around the quadrotor UAV, we can increase safety from circuit malfunctions in comparison to the use of just one loop. On the base station, four folding robotic bars are used to realign the receiver loops over the transmitter loops. After adequate recharging as measured by battery voltages or power consumption at the bae station, the UAV sends a signal to the base station to open the robotic bars and takes off once freed from the robotic bars.

Inductive Micro Displacement Detecting System with High Sensitivity and Low Linearity Error

  • A newly designed inductive micro displacement detecting system is presented. The proposed inductive system consists of driving coils, position-detecting coils, cores, and closed-loop formed magnetic blocks. The cores and magnetic blocks are made of Mn-Zn ferrite. When AC sine wave is applied to the driving coils, the time derivative flux is generated within the system, and then induced voltages arise in the position-detecting coils according to the core\`s position. Putting the cores to be moved proportionally to the input displacement, the induced voltage is proportional to input displacement. The parameters that affect the system characteristics are turn ratio, air-gap size, excitation frequency, overlap area, load resistance, capacitance effect, and so forth. Based on the experimental results, the system parameters are selected in such a way as to have high sensitivity ad stable responses. The sensitivity of the proposed inductive displacement-detecting system is greater than 2800mV.V-1mm-1 and the linearity error is below $\pm$0.10% in the range of $\pm$200㎛.

원형검지기와 기존검지기의 비교 분석에 관한 연구 (A Comparison Between Round Loop and Existing Octagonal Loop Detectors)

  • In order to operate the computerized traffic signal system, it requires the detectors which ensure the exact detections of actual traffic data (e.g., traffic volume, occupancy and velocity of vehicles). The octagonal detectors are used currently in Korea. However, the maintenance of the detectors has many problems with the road repairs and the constructions on the pavement, and failure due to the disconnection of the wires. Serious delay due to the long installation time of loops also causes the traffic disturbances. The low sensitivities and splash-over effect can sometimes create error data after installation of the octagonal loops. The mai purpose of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of domestic use of the round (circular) inductive loops which developed recently in U.S.A. It was found that the round loops are comparable to the existing octagonal loops. In addition, the use of the high quality of materials in the round loop system can reduce the current problems and weakpoints of the octagonal loops. The installation cost of the round loop was found out as economic as the octagonal loop. The installation time of the round loop system can be reduced with the specially equipped loop truck, and wide/deep slots without sharp corners can extend the durability without serious stress of loop head wires. In conclusion, the round loop is superior to the octagonal type in overall points. It is recommended that the localization of the materials and equipments of round loop system is required to carry out the extensive local installations. Also, several contractors to meet the nationwide demand should be arranged to gurantee the proper maintenance and operation of the systems.
