  • The rotational barrel type equipment has been designed for the new rheology fabrication process. During the continuous rotation of barrel with a constant temperature, the shear rate is controlled with the rotation speed and rotation time of barrel. The barrel surface can be controlled the temperature by the induction heating and cooling system. Many experiments were widely examined by using this system with controlling the rotation speed and the rotation time. The possibility for the rheoforming process was investigated with microstructural characteristics.

  • This paper presents a 3-D finite element analysis of a magneto-thermal coupled problem with moving conductor. In the magnetic and thermal analyses, temperature-dependent magnetic and thermal material properties were considered. Transient finite element method for analysis of moving conductor needs many number of elements and much time to make calculation. Therefore, in this paper, finite element formulation derived from quasi-state is adopted. Finite element results were compared with the experimental results. The results demonstrate that this approach is suitable to solve the magneto-thermal coupled problem.

  • Different crystallographic planes, at a gas-metal interface, have different surface energy. To grow the (100) grains of 6.5wt%Si-Fe alloy preferentially, it was heat-treated in the atmosphere of sulfur by using the surface energy. When the specimen is heat-treated for 1 hour at $1175^{\circ}C$ by using the atmosphere of sulfur produced by heating at $75^{\circ}C$, (100) grains were grown to 3.5mm. Owing to the growth of (100) grains, the coercive force was decreased to 2.1 A/mm, and the magnetic induction at 800(A/mm) was increased to 1.61T.

Laser Hardening of Piston Ring Groove (피스톤 링그루브의 레이저 열처리)

  • Laser hardening for the piston ring groove of ductile cast iron was tried. Mechanical and microstructural investigation for the hardened area indicated that the laser heating technique could replace conventional induction hardening process completely and further showed that post grinding process would be eliminated by minimizing bulging of heat treated area. In laser hardening, the volume increase caused by martensitic phase transformation proved to be less than $10{\mu}m$, which insures no post machining on the hardened surface. As expected, the depth of hardening was inversely proportional to the beam scanning velocity and the highest surface hardness was obtained at the beam velocity of 0.75m/min. Heat treatment using phosphate coating demonstrated quite comparable result to the case of graphite suscepter.

  • 유도가열 코일 내부의 물질에 비접촉식으로 에너지를 전달하기 위하여 유도가열 코일에는 고주파 대전류를 투입하게 된다. 이러한 결과로 코일 자체에도 상당히 높은 수준의 발열이 발생하게 된다. 따라서 실제적으로 코팅물질의 발열을 위하여 전달되는 에너지 이외에 소모적으로 사용되는 에너지가 어쩔 수 없이 코일에 존재하게 된다. 이는 전자기코일의 효율을 낮추는 역할 뿐만 아니라 안정적인 운전을 저해하는 역할을 하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 전자기 및 온도 해석을 통하여 설계 제작된 유도가열 코일을 투입 전류를 바꾸며 실험하여 각 전류 투입시 코일에서의 발열량 및 온도 측정 결과를 해석 결과와 비교하여 유도가열 코일에 대한 평가를 수행 하였다.

  • 도전체에 적절한 열을 가하기 위하여 상당히 높은 수준의 자기장을 이용한다. 이러한 높은 자기장을 만들기 위하여 유도가열 코일은 상당히 높은 고주파 전류를 이용하게 되는데, 이로 인하여 코일 자체에도 상당히 높은 발열이 발생하게 된다. 따라서 실제적으로 코팅물질의 발열을 위하여 전달되는 에너지 이외에 소모적으로 사용되는 코일에서 사용되는 에너지가 어쩔수 없이 존재하게 된다. 이는 전자기코일의 효율을 낮추는 역할 뿐만 아니라 안정적인 운전을 저해하는 역할을 하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 전자기 및 온도 해석을 통하여 유도가열 코일의 구조에 따른 효율 및 코일에서의 온도 분포등을 도출하여 전자기 유도가열코일의 설계에 이용하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 Half Bridge Series Resonant Inverter를 이용한 유도가열 시스템 설계를 하고 제작하여 구현하였다. 이러한 유도가열 시스템의 제작을 위해서는 공진탱크와 매칭 트랜스포머의 설계가 필수적이다. 따라서 이런 설계를 위해 PSpice 를 이용하여 공진탱크의 입력 임피던스 Bode Plot 을 그려 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 탱크회로를 설계 하였다. 매핑 트랜스포머의 설계는 출력 Power 와 1,2 차 회로 조건에 의해 설계 되어졌다. 이렇게 설계한 유도가열 시스템을 Pspice 를 이용해서 Simulation 함으로써 주파수에따른 출력 Power 의 변화를 볼수 있었으며, 유도가열 시스템을 실제 제작하여 구현함으로써 확인하였다.

  • In solving axisymmetric field problem by FEM, absorbing boundary condition is introduced to approximate the normal derivatives on artificial boundary to truncate the finite analysis legion. To verify this scheme eddy currents of an conducting sphere in an uniform magnetic field are calculated, and it shows better results than one with Neumann boundary condition. Also eddy currents of conducting cylinder surrounded by coils are calculated, which is typical model in induction heating system.

  • AlN single crystal was thermally treated at $1200^{\circ}C$ and $1500^{\circ}C$ in the ambient gas of nitrogen. AlN single crystal was obtained by sublimation growth process using by a facility having a growth part which was heated by RF (Radio Frequency) induction heating. In this report, the optical microscopic results taken from thermally treated AlN single crystal and FWHM (Full width of half maximum) measured by DCXRD (Double crystal X-ray Diffractometry) were reported.

  • The current-fed high frequency inverter with separated parallel resonant capacitor is presented in this paper. The analysis of the proposed circuit is generally described by using normalized parameter, and are evaluated characteristics of the circuit.In addition, this paper proves the propriety of theoretical analysis in terms of the experimental waveforms using the switching device MOSFET. In the future, the proposed inverter will expected that it can be practically used as the high frequency power source for induction heating etc.ng etc.
