  • This paper discusses the issues associated with the design of high speed machines for applications with a wide constant-power region requirement. Using described multi-domain design environments which put equal weight on the electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical considerations, the suitability and power density achievable using Induction Machines (IM) and Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines (PMSM) are compared.

  • This paper describes a robust flux bonging scheme which utilizes the windings of the machine itself to implement field orientation control of SLIM (Single-sided Linear Induction Motor). By subtracting the voltage across adjacent motor coils of the same phase which are named STATOR TAPPED COIL, a flux signal is obtained which is insensible to stater resister drop at a low speed that exerts a bad Influence on field orientation. The method using STATOR TAPPED COIL has been implemented at SLIM in our laboratory, and experimental results are being scrutinized.

  • There are several types of switching table for selection voltage vector in direct torque control of induction motor. In general, two-quadrant and four-quadrant operation switching table are used mostly. Two-quadrant operation has an advantage that reduced the torque ripples in comparison with four-quadrant operation, but it has the defect that is not constant average torque. Because the torque increasing slope size by non-zero voltage vector is different from the torque decreasing slope size by zero voltage vector as speed region. The main objective of this study is to maintain constant average torque using two-quadrant operation switching table. In proposed method, the torque increasing slope or decreasing slope are calculated before selected voltage vector is applied. Then, it is applied to zero voltage vector or non-zero voltage vector until the torque increasing slope and decreasing slope are equal. In total magnitude. Therefore it becomes to maintain average torque at whole operation speed. The validity of the proposed method is proven by simulated and experimental results.

  • This paper proposes and develops a new direct voltage control (DVC) approach. This method is designed to be applied in various applications for AC drives fed with a three-phase voltage source inverter (VSI) working with a constant switching time interval as in the standard direct torque control (DTC) scheme. Based on a very strong min(max) criterion dedicated to selecting the inverter voltage vector, the developed DVC scheme allows the generation of accurate voltage forms of waves. The DVC algorithm is implemented on a dSPACE DS1104 controller board and then compared with the space vector pulse width modulation technique (SVPWM) in an open loop AC drive circuit. To demonstrate the efficiency of the developed algorithm in real time and in closed loop AC drive applications, a scalar control scheme for induction motors is successfully implemented and experimentally studied. Practical results prove the excellent performance of the proposed control approach.

  • Korean local governments operates the participatory budgeting system autonomously. This study is to classify these entities into clusters. Among the diverse machine learning methodologies(Neural Network, Rule Induction(CN2), KNN, Decision Tree, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, SVM, Naïve Bayes), the Support Vector Machine technique emerged as the most efficacious in the analysis of 2022 Korean municipalities data. The first cluster C1 is characterized by minimal committee activity but a substantial allocation of participatory budgeting; another cluster C3 comprises cities that exhibit a passive stance. The majority of cities falls into the final cluster C2 which is noted for its proactive engagement in. Overall, most Korean local government operates the participatory busgeting system in good shape. Only a small number of cities is less active in this system. We anticipate that analyzing time-series data from the past decade in follow-up studies will further enhance the reliability of classifying local government types regarding participatory budgeting.

  • If two or more Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) can be controlled by one inverter, a train can be driven by less energy than the present Induction Motor (IM) drive system. First, this paper proposes a method for simulating the movement of wheels and a vehicle to develop a control method. Next, a method is presented for controlling two or more PMSMs by one inverter.

  • In field oriented control of Induction motors, speed sensor is required, which reduces the sturdiness of drive system and together with the expenditure of hardware for faultless transmission and processing of sensor signals it causes considerable expenses. These expensive sensors can be replaced by speed sensorless concept. And for good control, the knowledge of the rotor flux component of the rotor resistance are needs. Thus, this paper is based on a Extended Kalman Filter( EKF ) that estimates the state variables that are required for the control by only measuring the line voltages and currents of the machine. The rotor time constant and speed estimated by the EKF shows satisfactory agreement with the real values, with the simulation approaches.

  • This paper describes a design of an induction motor control system for industrial sewing machines. On the basis of vector control principle, the control system is simulated by using the ACSL, implemented on a DSP(TMS320C31).A space vector modulation is used as the inverter switching strategy. For the application of industrial sewing machines, A fast acceleration (deceleration) and removal of velocity ripples are required, because a sewing quality and sewing machines life time depends on these characteristics. The designed control system has fast dynamic characteristics and small speed vibration. The result is applied to the industrial sewing machine and result are shown.

  • To obtain a high performance in a vector controlled induction machine, it is essential to know the instantaneous position of the rotor flux which depends on the rotor time constant. But the rotor time constant mainly varies due to the temperature rise in the motor winding, so real time compensating algorithm is necessary. This paper proposes that it uses short duration pulses added to the constant flux command current and then resultant torque command current produced by speed controller is utilized for the rotor resistance estimation. This method has advantages with a low computational requirement and does not require voltage sensors. The proposed method is proved by simulations.
