It has been integrated into several navigation systems. This paper shows that system recognizes difficult indoor roads and open area without any specific mark such as painted guide line or tape. In this method, Robot navigates with visual sensors, which uses visual information to navigate itself along the road. An Artificial Neural Network System was used to decide where to move. It is designed with USB web camera as visual sensor.

This paper proposes an IoT-based indoor autonomous driving system that applies SLAM (Simultaneous Localization And Mapping) and Navigation techniques in a ROS (Robot Operating System) environment based on TurtleBot3. The proposed autonomous driving system can be applied to indoor autonomous wheelchairs and robots. In this study, the operation was verified by applying it to an indoor self-driving wheelchair. The proposed autonomous driving system provides two functions. First, indoor environment information is collected and stored, which allows the wheelchair to recognize obstacles. By performing navigation using the map created through this, the rider can move to the desired location through autonomous driving of the wheelchair. Second, it provides the ability to track and move a specific logo through image recognition using OpenCV. Through this, information services can be received from guides wearing uniforms with the organization's unique logo. The proposed system is expected to provide convenience to passengers by improving mobility, safety, and usability over existing wheelchairs.

Due to the rapid advancement in smart phones, numerous new specifications are developed for variety of applications ranging from health monitoring to navigations and tracking. The word indoor navigation means location identification, however, where GPS signals are not available, accurate indoor localization is a challenging task due to variation in the received signals which directly affect distance estimation process. This paper proposes a hybrid approach which integrates fingerprinting based K-Nearest Neighbors (K-NN) and lateration based MinMax position estimation technique. The novel idea behind this hybrid approach is to use Euclidian distance formulation for distance estimates instead of indoor radio channel modeling which is used to convert the received signal to distance estimates. Due to unpredictable behavior of the received signal, modeling indoor environment for distance estimates is a challenging task which ultimately results in distance estimation error and hence affects position estimation process. Our proposed idea is indoor position estimation technique using Bluetooth enabled smart phones which is independent of the radio channels. Experimental results conclude that, our proposed hybrid approach performs better in terms of mean error compared to Trilateration, MinMax, K-NN, and existing Hybrid approach.
In this paper, in order to improve the error is utilized to location tracking the smart sensor detects a walking information user, RSSI is to provide an indoor position tracking system that is capable of correcting an error in terms weak. The acceleration sensor is able to detect the activity in the user walking and detects the number of step and the moving distance using the same. The Direction sensor is utilized as a digital compass, to detect the moving direction of the user. As a result of detecting the walking information using the sensor, it can be showed that this proposed indoor positioning system has a high degree of accuracy for the number of steps and the movement direction. Therefore, this paper shows that the proposed technique can correct the error of the location information to be problem in the conventional indoor location system which uses the only Wi-Fi APs by estimating the user's movement direction and distance using the sensors in smartphone without an additional equipment and cost.

The all revision of the Road Name Address Act, which contains the contents to be used by expanding the road name address as a means of indicationg the location, has been resloved by the National Assembly. Addresses will be assigned to large-sized facilities (3D mixed-use complex spaces). Here, the 3D (Three-dimensional) address is assigned an indoor path section in the inner passage, dividing the section at intervals. The 3D address will be built on the address information map. For 3D address, data should be built and managed for a 3D complex space(indoor space). Therefore, in this study, the object of the 3D address is defined based on the address conceptual model defined in the international standard, and the 3D address data model is proposed based on IndoorGML. To this, it is proposed as a method of mapping the Core and Navigation module of IndoorGML so that the entity of the 3D address can be expressed in IndoorGML. This study has a limitation in designing a 3D address data model only, but it is meaningful that it suggested a standard for constructing 3D address data in the future.
In this paper, we implemented a ray-tracing simulator with a ray-launching technique and generated the propagation path of each ray in an multiple-wall indoor environment. In this simulator, we adopted two dimension ray-tracing techniques considering the reflection and penetration were dominant propagation factor in the indoor channel. From the result, we verified that this ray-tracing simulator shows the similar pattern and delay distribution with the experiment results of the previous research.
Recently, small quadcopters have been widely used in various areas ranging from military to entertainment applications because interest in the quadcopter increases. Especially, the research on swarm flight which control quadcopters simultaneously without any collision can increase success probability of a important mission. In addition the swarm flight can be applied for demonstrating choreographed aerial maneuvers such as dancing and playing musical instruments. In this paper, we introduce multiple AR.Drone control system based on motion capture for indoor environment in which quadcopters can recognize current position each other and perform scenario based mission.

In order to increase the autonomous navigation capability of a mobile robot, it is very crucial to develop a method for recognizing a priori known environmental characteristics. This paper proposes an ultrasonic sensor based real-time method for recognizing a priori known indoor environmental characteristics like a wall and corner. The ultrasonic sensor consists of an ultrasonic transmitter and two ultrasonic receivers placed symmetrically about the transmitter. Unlike previous methods the information obtained from the sensor is processed in real-time by extended Kalman filter to be able to correct the position and orientation of robot with respect to known environmental characteristics.
To solve the problem of parameter optimization in image sensor-based visible light positioning systems, theoretical limits for both the location and the azimuth angle of the image sensor receiver (ISR) are calculated. In the case of a typical indoor scenario, maximum likelihood estimations for both the location and the azimuth angle of the ISR are first deduced. The Cramer-Rao Lower Bound (CRLB) is then derived, under the condition that the observation values of the image points are affected by white Gaussian noise. For typical parameters of LEDs and image sensors, simulation results show that accurate estimates for both the location and azimuth angle can be achieved, with positioning errors usually on the order of centimeters and azimuth angle errors being less than $1^{\circ}$. The estimation accuracy depends on the focal length of the lens and on the pixel size and frame rate of the ISR, as well as on the number of transmitters used.
The localization of the robot is one of the most important factors of navigating mobile robots. The use of featured information of landmarks is one approach to estimate the location of the robot. This approach can be classified into two categories: the natural-landmark-based and artificial-landmark-based approach. Natural landmarks are suitable for any environment, but they may not be sufficient for localization in the less featured or dynamic environment. On the other hand, artificial landmarks may generate shaded areas due to space constraints. In order to improve these disadvantages, this paper presents a novel development of the localization system by using artificial and natural-landmarks-based approach on a topological map. The proposed localization system can recognize far or near landmarks without any distortion by using landmark tracking system based on top-view image transform. The camera is rotated by distance of landmark. The experiment shows a result of performing position recognition without shading section by applying the proposed system with a small number of artificial landmarks in the mobile robot.
