The development of Internet technology can affect firm value through the use of social media by business people. Nowadays, social media affect businesses of all sizes in several different ways. Despite the various benefits obtained by using social media, research at the organizational level and its impact on business performance have not grown as fast as desired. This research aims to examine the effect of social media on oil and gas firms' value. The research sample consists of 9 oil and gas firms listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange 2013-2018. Social media proxies are firms' social media, other social media mentions, and social media sentiment. Firm value is measured by the market value to assets ratio. Data analysis uses a random-effect regression test. Based on the analysis, the social media account of a firm has a positive effect on firm value. It indicates that social media give advantages for oil and gas firms to give a signal of business prospect, make use of opportunities related to industry alliances, recruit employees globally, and c. On the other hand, the positive sentiment on social media has no effect on oil and gas firms' value.

The aim of this paper is to investigate the level of intellectual capital disclosure (ICD) in commercial banks listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange. This paper also observed the effects of ICD and corporate governance mechanism on market value. This study uses content analysis techniques to measure ICD. The paper provides a novel approach to measure the ICD quality in developing countries using a four-numerical coding system. Secondary data were obtained from the financial statements and annual reports of the banks for the period 2011-2014. The data from 31 banks were analyzed using ordinary least square regression. The study reports that the quality of intellectual capital disclosure in Indonesian commercial banks increase steadily. Narrative disclosure dominates the report of intellectual capital in Indonesian banks. The results indicate that the size of audit committee, frequency of audit committee meeting, and intellectual capital disclosure affect positively the market value. Overall, the results indicate intellectual capital disclosure is associated with the market capitalization; these findings indicate that the ICD is a consideration in a stock investment decision. While regulations in Indonesia regarding intellectual capital reporting are not conclusive yet, the information needs of stakeholders have encouraged companies to expand voluntary disclosure.

This study aim is to examine 1) the impact of corporate social responsibility disclosure and tax aggressiveness on firm value, 2) the impact of tax aggressiveness on firm value, and 3) the impact of corporate social responsibility on firm value. The sample of this study is 29 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The period of research spans three years, from 2017 to 2019. The data is gathered from the annual report of the companies or website of companies and also the website from Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This study uses Structural Equation Model with Partial Least Square. The research findings show that corporate social responsibility and tax aggressiveness have a negative and significant impact on firm value. The tax aggressiveness and firm value have a negative and significant impact. Corporate social responsibility has a positive and significant impact on firm value. This study uses the manufacturing sector, so that the findings of this study cannot be generalized to other sectors. Future research should explore other sectors such as mining, banking, etc. This study uses Effective Tax Rate (ETR) to measure tax aggressiveness. Further research should use another measurement, for instance, Current Effective Tax Rate (CETR).

This study aims to examine the factors that determine bond yields in infrastructure companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The research sample used 31 bonds issued by the company during the 2015-2019 period. The data analysis method to estimate the determinant of bond yield uses multiple regression models. The results prove that the increase in the coupon rate causes bond yields to increase, while the inflation rate has the opposite effect of decreasing bond yield. Interest rate, exchange rate, duration, and bond rating variables cannot affect the bond yield. The results of this study imply that investors will be interested in investing in bonds with better yields if the company has to set a higher coupon rate, especially in economic conditions that experience low inflation rates. Interest rates and exchange rates as macroeconomic variables have not been considered by investors in purchasing bonds. Bond characteristic factors, namely, the duration and rating of the bonds, are considered less important factors in bond investment decisions because they are more oriented towards getting higher yields. Therefore, further research needs to be explored further related to the behavior of Indonesian bond investors who may have different characters from investors in other countries.

This research aimed to analyze the momentum strategy of foreign investors with the smallest trading transactions in the Indonesian stock market. This study applied a quantitative method approach using intraday transaction data of companies listed on the LQ-45 Index for March, April, and May 2017, obtained from the Indonesia Capital Market Institute (TICMI) which is a subsidiary of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The number of companies with available data is 35 companies, consisting of 23 non-government stocks and 12 government stocks. The number of observations from the 35 companies was 8,686,030 observations where the government companies recorded 2,751, 545 and the non-government companies 1,387,016 observations. All data was then squeezed and grouped into small, medium, and large trade transaction orders. The data analysis method used was paired t-test with SPSS to analyze cumulative abnormal returns in the formulation and test periods. This study found that small foreign investors carried out momentum strategies on stocks listed on the LQ-45 Index. However, re-testing was done by separating government and non-government shares. It turned out that small foreign investors performed a momentum strategy on non-government and a contrarian strategy on government.

The covid-19 pandemic scenario caused the most extensive economic shocks the world has experienced in decades. Maintaining financial performance and economic stability is essential during the pandemic period. In these conditions, where movement is severely restricted, media consumption is considered to be increasing. The social media platform is one of the media online used by the public as a source of information and also expressing their sentiment, including individual investors in the capital market as social media users. Twitter is one of the social media microblogging platforms used by individual investors to share their opinion and get information. This study aims to determine whether microblogging sentiment investors can predict the capital market during pandemics. To analyze microblogging sentiment investors, we classified sentiment using the phyton text mining algorithm and Naïve Bayesian text classification into level positive, negative, and neutral from November 2019 to November 2020. This study was on 68 listed companies on the Indonesia stock exchange. A Vector Autoregression and Impulse Response is applied to capture short and long-term impacts along with a causal relationship. We found that microblogging sentiment investor has a significant impact on stock returns and volatility and vice-versa. Also, the response due to shocks is convergent, and microblogging investors in Indonesia are categorized as a "news-watcher" investor.

The primary purpose of the study is to investigate the volatility spillovers from global economic policy uncertainty and macroeconomic factors to the Islamic stock market returns. The study focuses on the Islamic stock indices of emerging economies including Indonesia, Malaysia, and Turkey. The Macroeconomic factors are industrial production, consumer price index, exchange rate. EGARCH model is employed for investigation of volatility spillovers. The results show that the global economic policy uncertainty has a significant spillover effect only on the returns of Turkish Islamic stock index. Similarly, the shocks in macroeconomic factors have little influence on the volatility of Islamic indices returns. The volatility of Indonesian and the Turkish Islamic stock indices returns is not influenced from the fluctuations in macroeconomic factors. However, there is significant volatility spillover only from industrial production to the returns of Malaysian Islamic index. The results suggest that the Islamic stock markets are less likely to influence from the global economic policies and macroeconomic factors. The stability of Islamic stocks provide opportunity for diversification of portfolios, particularly in stressed market conditions. The major price factors of Islamic markets could be firms' specific factors or investors' behaviors. The findings are helpful for policy makers and investors in formulating policies and portfolios.

This research seeks to determine the influence of investment opportunity set (IOS); profitability (Return on Assets - ROA), liquidity, business risk and firm size on debt policy. We used 42 manufacturing companies registered on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (Bursa Efek Indonesia) as object research. We used purposive sampling method to determined samples, consider the period observation from 2012 to 2016, and produce 168 units analysis. Data analysis uses the multiple regressions with the SPSS tools. The results of the study found that companies' debt policies in Indonesia are negatively affected by the liquidity. Investment opportunity set (IOS) has negative effect on debt policy. Meanwhile, ROA, Return on Invested Capital (ROIC), and firm size of a company has no impact on debt policy. These findings indicate that Indonesian manufacture companies do not see the high investment opportunity set and profitability as a policy basis for increasing debt. Moreover, the high profitability also does not cause companies to increase their debt ratio. Our study indicates that Indonesian manufacture companies use internal funds to fund their investment. This finding is a concern for creditors, as they can now see the ability of the companies, and especially their performance, in determining their credit policies.

The study aims to compare whether using Earnings Response Coefficient (ERC) is better than using the new concept of Accounting Earnings Response Coefficient (AERC) in determining the earnings quality response coefficient value. Also, the study seeks to explain the effect of company characteristics and corporate governance on AERC through voluntary disclosure and information asymmetry. Research samples include 69 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange over the period 2014-2017. The data come from annual reports, stock market prices, CSPI, EPS, stock returns and market returns. The research model is tested using the structural equation model (SEM) with partial least square (PLS). The results showed the value of the earnings response coefficient produced by AERC and ERC was different. Earnings quality resulting from AERC regression by adding CFO values better reflects the actual earnings quality. These results are consistent with the concept built from the proposition about earnings quality at AERC, that quality earnings are informative accounting earnings. The theoretical findings of this study provide an explanation that operational cash flow plays a role in evaluating earnings quality, while providing reinforcement that the ERC regression model fails to detect stock market reactions to information relevant to the aggregated values of accounting earnings.

In recent decades, financial crises in various countries have often been preceded by the rise in non-performing loans (NPLs) in the banks' asset portfolios. The increase in NPLs is proven to have adverse impact on the banking sector so that understanding the determinant of NPLs is immensely crucial to ensure the efficiency and soundness of the overall economy. This study aims to shed light on bank-specific factors that affect loan default problems in developing countries whose banking sectors play a major role in the overall economy. This study analyzes panel data sets of 36 commercial banks listed in the Indonesian Stock Exchange during the period 2008-2015. Applying fixed-effects panel regression model reveals that Indonesian banks' profitability and credit growth negatively influence the number of NPLs. Moreover, banks with higher profitability are proven to have lower NPLs because they can afford adequate credit management practices. Likewise, banks with higher credit growth evidently have lower NPLs in the sense that they demonstrate more specialized lending activity and thus have better credit management systems. These findings imply that, in order to lower loan defaults that can deteriorate banks' asset quality, banks should maintain their level of profitability and increase, rather than decrease, their credit supply to debtors.
