The Effect of Personality Type on Human Performance Tool Compliance and General Recommendations for Enhancement of the its Practical Utilization

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of personality type on human performance tool compliance in nuclear power plants (NPPs) and to propose general recommendations for an enhancement of its practical utilization. Background: Various guidelines, regulating criteria, and recommendations have been developed to prevent human errors in NPPs. Despite these efforts, the accidents sometimes caused by human errors have steadily occurred, and therefore, various human performance tools have been adopted as countermeasures against human errors. The major and inevitable contributing factors among the many hazards to human errors might be the trait and personality, which are considered to be the inner world of humans. Thus, we try to investigate the utilization of human performance tools by considering the different types of operating crew personalities, and we suggested more practical recommendations to prevent human errors according to the personality. Method: We developed the Questionnaire using the Big 6 (HEXACO) models, which are human performance tools for workers in NPPs, and individual (condition) variables to investigate the effect of personality types on human performance tools. We slightly modified them to help the survey respondents understand them better. A survey was conducted for ordinary people over the age of 20. SPSS 22.0 was used to perform a correlation analysis and a hierarchical regression analysis to find the relationship between personality types and human performance tools. Results: The utilization of human performance tools shows significant differences statistically by personality. The correlation result reveals that the types of Honesty (H), Extraversion (X), Conscientiousness (C), and Openness to experience (O) show a higher utilization of human performance tools. In hierarchical regression results, human performance tools of task preview, questioning attitude, stopping when unsure, self-checking, effective communication, and place-keeping show a higher utilization with personality types. However, the Agreeableness (A) type did not show significant differences statistically with human performance tools. Conclusion: We tried to investigate the utilization of human performance tools by considering the different types of human personality and provide more practical recommendations to prevent human errors according to the personality. These results will be able to prevent human errors owing to the characteristics (advantages and disadvantages) of personality types. Application: This information can be utilized as guidelines for proactive recommendations according to the workers' personalities for more practical human performance tools to prevent human errors in an NPP.

영아반 보육교사의 교사효능감과 직무스트레스에 관한 연구 (A Study on Infant Class Childcare Teachers' Self-Efficacy and Job Stress)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 영아반 보육교사의 교사효능감과 직무스트레스에 영향을 미치는 관련 배경 변인 분석을 통해 영아반 보육교사의 직무여건 개선 및 교사교육의 기초자료를 제공하기 위함이다. 이러한 목적을 위해 경상북도에 소재한 어린이집에 재직 중인 영아반 보육교사 488명을 대상으로 2013년 3월11일부터 29일까지 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 영아반 보육교사의 교사효능감은 전반적으로 조금 높게 나타났으며, 일반효능감이 개인효능감보다 높게 나타났다. 교사효능감은 개인변인인 연령과 결혼여부에서, 근무여건 변인인 어린이집 유형, 평균근무시간, 월평균보수, 반 원아수에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 둘째, 영아반 보육교사의 직무스트레스 역시 전반적으로 조금 높게 나타났으며, 직무스트레스는 경제, 학부모, 업무, 원아, 개인, 행정업무 순이며, 가장 낮은 요인은 동료스트레스로 나타났다. 직무스트레스는 개인변인 연령, 결혼여부, 경력, 이수한 연수회수에서, 근무여건 변인은 어린이집 유형, 평균근무시간, 반 원아수, 월평균보수에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 통해 영아반 보육교사의 교사효능감 향상을 위해 영아반 보육교사의 직무여건 개선이 무엇보다 중요하다는 시사점을 얻을 수 있다.

남성 청년의 노숙진입 시기에 따른 노숙 경로 (Pathways to homelessness: The case of young adults in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 최초 노숙진입 시기 차이에 따른 남성 청년 노숙인 두 그룹의 노숙경로를 밝혀 구체적인 노숙의 원인을 추적하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 기존의 노숙 원인에 대한 논의는 구조냐 개인이냐의 이분법적 원인론에 머물러 있거나 노숙에 영향을 미친 복잡한 원인을 다루지만 결국 이를 단순화시켜 설명하는 경향이 있었다. 본 연구는 각 청년노숙인 사례의 노숙 위험요인을 도출하고, 사례의 생애 경험의 맥락 속에서 노숙에 영향을 미친 핵심위험요인의 연대기적 배열을 통해 좀 더 세밀하게 위험요인간의 인과성을 추적하여 노숙진입의 경로를 살펴보았다. 그 결과 청년기에 노숙에 진입한 그룹(A1)과 10대 때부터 노숙을 경험한 바 있는 그룹(A2)은 노숙의 진입 경로가 상이함을 확인하였다. 양쪽 모두 청년기에 극한의 상태인 노숙을 경험하고 있다는 공통점이 있지만, 전자의 경우는 가족, 사회로부터 입은 외상으로 인해 정신적인 고통에 시달리고 이로부터 이탈해 고립을 경험하다 노숙에 이르게 된 경우로 대표된다면 후자의 그룹은 이미 청소년기부터 위기청소년의 상황이 시작되었고, 학교, 가정에서의 불안정성이 매우 높았던 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 청소년기의 노숙 경험이 청년기로 곧장 이어지는 경우는 많지 않았지만 비노숙 기간이 잠시였을 뿐 청년기에 노숙으로 재진입하고 있었다. 이러한 결론을 통해 성인기의 삶의 토대를 다져야 하는 청년기에 극단의 상황에 처한 청년들의 위험요인과 진입경로에 따른 차별화된 개입, 사례관리, 상담에 대한 정책적 접근이 필요하다는 것을 제언하였다.

정보기술 수용 후 주관적 지각 형성: 사용 경험에서 형성된 습관, 기대일치, 자기효능감의 역할 (What happens after IT adoption?: Role of habits, confirmation, and computer self-efficacy formed by the experiences of use)

  • Researchers have been continuously interested in the adoption of information technology (IT) since it is of great importance to the information systems success and it is also an important stage to the success. Adoption alone, however, does not ensure information systems success because it does not necessarily lead to achieving organizational or individual objectives. When an organization or an individual decide to adopt certain information technologies, they have objectives to accomplish by using those technologies. Adoption itself is not the ultimate goal. The period after adoption is when users continue to use IT and intended objectives can be accomplished. Therefore, continued IT use in the post-adoption period accounts more for the accomplishment of the objectives and thus information systems success. Previous studies also suggest that continued IT use in the post-adoption period is one of the important factors to improve long-term productivity. Despite the importance there are few empirical studies focusing on the user behavior of continued IT use in the post-adoption period. User behavior in the post-adoption period is different from that in the pre-adoption period. According to the technology acceptance model, which explains well about the IT adoption, users decide to adopt IT assessing the usefulness and the ease of use. After adoption, users are exposed to new experiences and they shape new beliefs different from the thoughts they had before. Users come to make decisions based on their experiences of IT use whether they will continue to use it or not. Most theories about the user behaviors in the pre-adoption period are limited in describing them after adoption since they do not consider user's experiences of using the adopted IT and the beliefs formed by those experiences. Therefore, in this study, we explore user's experiences and beliefs in the post-adoption period and examine how they affect user's intention to continue to use IT. Through deep literature reviews on the construction of subjective beliefs by experiences, we draw three meaningful constructs which theoretically have great impacts on the continued use of IT: perceived habit, confirmation, and computer self-efficacy. Then, we examine the role of the subjective beliefs on the cognitive/affective attitudes and intention to continue to use that IT. We set up a research model and conducted survey research. Since IT use implies interactions among a user, IT, and a task, we carefully selected the sample of users using same/similar IT to perform same/similar tasks, to exclude unwanted influences of other factors than subjective beliefs on the IT use. We also considered that the sample of users were able to make decisions to continue to use IT volitionally or at least quasi-volitionally. For each construct, we used measurement items recognized for reliability and widely used in the previous research. We slightly modified some items proper to the research context and a pilot test was carried out for forty users of a portal service in a university. We performed a full-scale survey after verifying the reliability of the measurement. The results show that the intention to continue to use IT is strongly influenced by cognitive/affective attitudes, perceived habits, and computer self-efficacy. Confirmation affects the intention to continue indirectly through cognitive/affective attitudes. All the constructs representing the subjective beliefs built by the experiences of IT use have direct and/or indirect impacts on the intention of users. The results also show that the attitudes in the post-adoption period are formed, at least partly, by the experiences of IT use and newly shaped beliefs after adoption. The findings suggest that subjective beliefs built by the experiences have deep impacts on the continued use. The results of the study signify that while experiencing IT in the post-adoption period users form new beliefs, attitudes, and intentions which may be different from those of the pre-adoption period. The results of this study partly demonstrate that the beliefs shaped by the behaviors, those are the experiences of IT use, influence users' attitudes and intention. The results also suggest that behaviors (experiences) also change attitudes while attitudes shape behaviors. If we combine the findings of this study with the results of the previous research on IT adoption, we can propose a cycle of IT adoption and use where behavior shapes attitude, the attitude forms new behavior, and that behavior shapes new attitude. Different from the previous research, the study focused on the user experience after IT adoption and empirically demonstrated the strong influence of the subjective beliefs formed in the post-adoption period on the continued use. This partly confirms the differences between attitudes in the pre-adoption and in the post-adoption period. Users continuously change their attitudes and intentions while experiencing (using) IT. Therefore, to make users adopt IT and to make them use IT after adoption is a different problem. To encourage users to use IT after adoption, experiential variables such as perceived habit, confirmation, and computer self-efficacy should be managed properly.

금융업 종사자의 은퇴기대, 사회적 지지 및 창업의지가 노후준비에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effects of Retirement Expectations & Social Supports & Entrepreneurial Intention for Employees Engaged in Financial Business on the Preparation for their Old Age)

  • 2019년 통계청 자료에 의하면 우리나라는 65세 이상 노인 인구가 769만 명으로 전체 인구의 14.9%를 차지해 세계에서 가장 빠른 속도의 압축 고령화가 진행되고 있다. 금융업 종사자는 대표적인 고임금 근로자들로 업종별 차이가 있기는 하지만 금융업 종사자 대부분이 정년이전에 희망퇴직을 하는 경우가 많고, 퇴직 이후에 성공적인 전직이나 창업을 하는 경우도 드물다. 본 연구는 금융업 종사자들의 은퇴기대, 사회적 지지 및 창업의지가 노후준비에 미치는 영향과 개인특성에 따라 노후준비에 어떤 차이가 있는지를 분석하였다. 연구대상은 수도권 및 대구지역에 근무하는 금융업 종사자 280명이고, 자료 분석은 SPSS Win Ver. 18.0을 이용하여 빈도분석, 요인분석, 신뢰성 분석, 회귀분석 등을 실시하였으며, 본 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 금융업 종사자의 은퇴기대가 노후준비에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대해 연구한 결과 은퇴를 새로운 출발로 보는 사람들은 경제적, 신체적 노후준비에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 금융업 종사자의 사회적 지지는 경제적 노후준비에는 유의미한 영향을 미치지 못하였으나, 가족관계는 신체적 노후준비에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 정서·사회적 노후준비에는 가족관계와 친구관계 모두 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 금융업 종사자의 창업의지는 경제적, 신체적 노후준비에는 유의미한 영향을 미치지 못하였으나, 정서·사회적 노후준비에는 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 금융업 종사자의 개인특성이 노후준비에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과 연령, 결혼 여부 및 직장 내의 직급은 노후준비에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 못하였으나, 창업교육 경험 있음은 경험 없음에 비해 노후준비에 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다.

한국판 대처 전략 질문지 (K-CSQ)를 이용한 만성 통증 환자의 통증대처 특성 (The Characteristics of Pain Coping Strategies in Patients with Chronic Pain by Using Korean Version-Coping Strategies Questionnaire(K-CSQ))

  • 만성 통증 환자들은 통증에 대한 대처 방식이 각자 다르고 이에 따라 적응 상의 차이를 나타낸다. 한국판 대처 전략 질문지 (Korean version-Coping Strategy Questionaire : K-CSQ)로 만성 통증 환자의 통증 대처방식의 특징을 파악하고, 이 검사의 신뢰도를 검증하였다. 방법: 대상자는 만성 통증 환자군 128명과 정상 대조군 252명으로 하였다. 만성 통증 환자군에서의 임상적인 특성을 조사하였고, 양군에서 통증대처전략의 특성을 비교하였으며, K-CSQ의 각 항목의 내적 일치도 (Cronbach ${\alpha}$)를 산출하였고, 검사-재검사 신뢰도를 구하였다. 결과: 각 항목의 내적 일치도는 주의분산, 통증감각의 재해석, 통증감각의 무시, 기도 또는 바램, 재앙적 사고 등의 요인이 0.7 이상을 나타내어 일치도가 높았으며, 검사-재검사 신뢰도는 모두 0.66이상을 나타내서 신뢰도가 높은 검사임을 나타냈다. 대처 전략은 정상대조군보다 만성 통증 환자에서 자기진술 대처를 더 많이 사용하였고, 기도 또는 바램, 재앙적 사고, 통증행동의 증가 등이 만성 통증 환자군에서 의미있게 높은 수치를 나타냈다. 결론: K-CSQ는 만성통증환자에서 통증대처특성을 이해하는데 유용한 검사도구이다. 그리고, 만성 통증 환자에 대한 인지-행동적 개입을 통하여, 자기 진술 대처와 주의 돌려기, 통증 감각 무시 전략 등을 증가시키고, 재앙적 사고를 감소시켜 환자의 적응적 행동을 도우며, K-CSQ를 이용하여 치료적 개업에 따른 적응 기능의 향상을 확인하는데 이용할 수 있을 것이다.

청소년의 성행동 위험요인에 관한 연구 (A RESEARCH ON RISK FACTORS OF ADOLESCENT SEXUAL BEHAVIORS)

  • 본 연구는 생태계 이론에 근거하여 비계획적인 청소년기 성행동의 위험 요인을 파악하고자 실시되었다. 1996년 9월 12월까지 13~18세 연령 범위의 청소년 2326명에게 설문을 실시하였다. 미혼모 보호소에 있는 대상을 제외하였을때 응답자외 8.8%가 과거 성행동 경험이 있다고 보고하였다. 그 글 남자는 13.4% 여자는 5.0%로서 남자가 2.7배 더 많았고 13세(3.2%)보다 18세(19.2%)에서 약 6배 더 많았다. 연령과 성별을 맞추어 성행동 경험군과 비경험군을 비교한 결과 다섯가지의 위험요인이 발견되었다. 첫째 개인요소로서 자신의 잠재된 능력에 대한 고려가 부족하고 음주, 흡연, 약물 복용, 가출등의 경력이 있거나 포르노에 노출된 경우 그리고 자신이 성에 대해서 많이 알고 있다고 생각하는 것들이 포함된다. 둘째 요인은 가족 요인으로서, 가족의 중요성을 덜 느끼고 가족의 지시를 덜 받는 경우, 수입이 높고 평균보다 많거나 적은 경우 등이 포함된다. 셋째 요인은 또래 문제로써, 친구들이 실제보다 더 많은 문제 행동을 하고 있다고 믿는 경향이 포함된다. 넷째, 학교 요인으로는 학교의 중요성을 느끼지 못하고 학업 능력이 좋지 않을 경우에 성행동 위험이 높아졌다. 자아가 형성되는 시기인 사춘기에 예기치 않은 성행동을 예방하기 위해서는 가족관계와 학교생활에 주목해야 하며, 본 연구에서 밝혀진 위험 요인들이 향후 성행동에 미치는 영향에 대한 전향적 연구가 필요하다고 할수 있다.

정신과간호 실습에 대한 간호 학생들의 태도 조사연구 (A Study of the Attitudes of Nursing Students toward Their Clinical Affiliation in a Mental Hospital)

  • (Directed by Professor Hong, Shin Yong) Today, over seventy five Percent of the schools of nursing in Korea Provide a psychiatric experience in the basic curriculum. The psychiatric presents numerous major problems of adjustment to the student. The importance of positive attitudes toward the nursing care of psychiatric patients is recognized by the nursing profession. The purpose of this study was to determine the expressed attitudes of fifty-three nursing students toward their psychiatric affiliation. An attempt, also, was made to determine what implications these attitudes revealed relative to future program planning for students during the psychiatric nursing affiliation. A questionnaire, a Korean translation of the "psychiatric Nursing Attitude Questionnaire" by Milder Elizabeth Fletcher, was administered to fifty-three nursing students from three schools of nursing in Seoul, Who had completed a four-week psychiatric affiliation in a large mental hospital during Mar. 19, 1973 to May 19, 1973. The questionnaire of 100 statements was administered in the following way: (1) Part 1, Preconceptions. was. given in individual conferences with each subject, during the first few days of their affiliation, and again during the final week of the affiliation. The responses to Part Ⅰ were oral. (2) Part Ⅱ , Expectations, Part Ⅱ, Personal Relations, Part Ⅳ, Personal Feelings, and Part V , Attitudes and Activities of Patients were given to all of the subjects in a group meeting during the second week of the affiliation, and again. during the fourth week at the termination of the affiliation. Responses to Parts B, B, n, and f, wire written. Each of the 100 statements of the questionnaire was considered to be either Positive or Negative. A favorable response was assigned the Positive value of land an unfavorable response was assigned the Negative value of O. The coefficient of correlation was computed between the two sets of scores for the fifty-three nursing students., The mean score, the standard deviation, and the differences in the means on each of the five parts of the questionnaire were computed and the relationships calculated by a t-test. The results. of the study were as follows: 1. There was no significant correlation between the two sets of scores for the fifty-three nursing students during the four-week psychiatric affiliation. (r=573) 2. There was no significant difference in the mean scores between the first and final tests for any of the five parts of the questionnaire. 3. The Part.1, Preconceptions, data indicated nursing students enter the psychiatric affiliation with certain attitudes and preconceptions toward tile psychiatric affiliation which affect their psychiatric nursing experience, 4. The Part Ⅰ, Expectations, data indicated inappropriate expectations of students related to lack of experience, Lack of pre-psychiatric affiliation orientation, lack of social understanding, and feelings of insecurity. 5. The Part Ⅲ, Personal relations, data indicated some students have negative attitudes in personal relations with normal people in respect to psychological security and social responsibilities. 6. The Part Ⅳ, Personal feelings, data indicated nursing students have psychological insecurity & inappropriateness. 7. The Part Ⅴ, Attitudes and activities of patients, data indicated nursing students have negative attitudes of fear and frustration due to the psychotic behavior of certain patients in certain situations. 8. The data indicated preconceptions are predominate in unfavorable attitudes of students toward psychiatric nursing affiliation. Further researches indicated in the following areas: 1. Because of the limited number of students in this study, similar studies should be performed with larger groups for further validation of the results. 2. Because of the findings concerning the influence of the opinions of people in close contact with the students, similar studies of the attitudes of the staff in nursing schools, attitudes of graduate nurses and attitudes of the public should be done to determine weakness and strengths of present programs.

  • Today, over seventy five percent of nursing in Korea provide a psychiatric experience in the basic curriculum. The psychiatric affiliation presents numerous major problems of adjustment to the student. The Importance of positive attitude toward the nursing care of psychiatric patients is recognized by the nursing profession. I have fined out the unfavorable attitude of non collegiate nursing students toward psychiatric nursing affiliation by previous research. This study was undertaken in response to a felt need to explore the use of several devices which might yield information about attitudes toward psychiatric nursing as a basis for future planning of the program offered at a selected hospital. This study is designed to meet the following objectives; (1) In order to find out the expressed attitudes of fifty·three collegiate nursing students toward their psychiatric affiliation. (2) To compare responses given by selected group of collegiate and non collegiate nursing students to same questionnaire (3) To determine the relationship between the attitudes of nursing students toward psychiatric nursing and the type of instructions where experience was obtained. A questionnaire, a Korean translation of the "Psychiatric Nursing Attitude Questionnaire" by Moldered Elizabeth fletcher, was administered to fifty-three collegiate nursing students who had completed a four-week psychiatric affiliation in a S hospital psychiatric ward during May 7, 1973 to Dec. 16, 1973. - The questionnaire of 100 statements was administered in the following way; (1) Part Ⅰ, Preconceptions, was, given in individual conferences with each subject, during the first few days of their affiliation, and again during the final week of affiliation. The Part Ⅲ, Personal relations, data indicated some students have negative attitudes in personal relations with normal people in respect to psychological security and social responsibilities. 6. The Part Ⅳ, Personal feelings, data indicated nursing students have psychological insecurity & inappropriateness. 7. The Part V, Attitudes and activities of patients, data indicated collegiate nursing students have more positive attitudes to the psychotic behavior of certain situations due to sufficient theory learning. 8. The data indicated collegiate·nursing students have more positive attitude than non-collegiate nursing students. 5. 지방출신 여성들의 서울정착 경험에 대한 근거이론적 분석 (Grounded Theory Analysis on the Experience of Women from the Provinces Settling in Seoul)

  • 본 연구는 서울로 상경한 지방출신 여성들의 서울정착 과정에서의 경험을 분석하기 위해 서울로 대학을 진학하고 졸업 후 남아 직장생활을 지속하고 있는 7명의 여성들을 대상으로 심층면담을 통해 근거이론을 활용하여 분석하였다. 개방코딩에서는 110개의 개념, 21개의 하위범주와 이들을 포함하는 11개의 범주가 도출되었다. 인과적 조건은 '서울정착의 힘겨움'이며 맥락적 조건으로는 '심리적 불안 심화', '생활의 질 하락', '경제적 불안의 지속'으로 나타났다. 중심현상으로는 '서울정착의 지속여부에 대한 딜레마'로, 중재조건은 '서울상경이후 10년의 경험진단'으로 드러났다. 작용/상호작용 전략은 '개인생활의 변화', '안정된 직장을 통한 경제력 확보', '사회참여의 모색'으로, 결과는 '서울 정착의 지속성 여부 선택'으로 나타났다. 지방출신 여성들의 서울 정착과정에서의 경험에 대한 패러다임은 대학진학을 위해 서울로의 상경과 독립, 순응과 적응, 성장과 실패, 도전과 모색, 성찰과 새로운 선택 등의 정착과정을 거쳤다. 참여자들의 경험을 종합해 보면 이들은 30대가 되었어도 이방인과 같은 이질감과 불안을 인식하고 있었다. 당면한 문제들은 대학시절 보다 훨씬 복합적이고 다양해졌다. 직장인으로서 경제활동을 본격화하였지만, 서울 출신들과의 격차는 좁혀지지 않았다. 이제 이들은 누적된 피로감과 개인이 해결할 수 없는 사회적 문제로 인해 서울을 떠나 새로운 대안을 찾아야 한다는 절박감마저 엿보였다. 결론적으로 서울 상경 여성들의 안정된 정착은 개인의 노력만으로 한계가 있으며, 한국 사회 전반의 사회적 문제해결과 더불어 구체적 정책 대안들의 개입이 필요하다는 것을 확인하였다.
