A Performance Index for Time Slot Allocation in Link-16 Relative Navigation System

  • In this paper, we propose a performance index that can compare the position estimation performance according to the time slot allocation order, which is superior in the position estimation performance in the operation of the Link-16 based relative navigation system. In order to verify the validity of the performance index, a software-based Link-16 relative navigation system performance analysis platform composed of a signal generator, a signal reception and navigation algorithm execution unit, and a performance analysis unit was designed. Using the designed software platform, we analyzed the relationship between proposed performance index and position estimation performance according to time slot allocation order in the same position reference (PR) arrangement. The performance index of the proposed time slot allocation is expected to be utilized not only for the Link-16 system, but also for the Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA)-based navigation system.

최소 자산제약 및 인플레이션을 고려한 자산 할당에 관한 연구 (Optimal Asset Allocation with Minimum Performance and Inflation Risk)

  • We investigate the dynamic asset allocation problem under inflation risk when the wealth of an investor is constrained with minimum requirements. To capture the investor's risk preference, the CRRA utility function is considered and he maximizes his expected utility at predetermined date of the refund by participation in the financial market. The financial market is supposed to consist of three kinds of financial instruments which are a risk free asset, a risky asset, and an index bond. The role of an index bond is managing inflation risk represented by price process. The optimal wealth and the optimal asset allocation are derived explicitly by using the method to get the European call option pricing formula. From the numerical results, it is confirmed that the investments on index bond is high when the investor's wealth level is low. However, as his wealth increases, the investments on index bond decreases and he invests on risky asset more. Furthermore, the minimum wealth constraint induces lower investment on risky asset but the effect of the constraints is reduced as the wealth level increases.

A Maximum Data Allocation Rule for an Anti-forensic Data Hiding Method in NTFS Index Record

  • An anti-forensic data hiding method in an NTFS index record is a method designed for anti-forensics, which records data as a file name in index entries and thereafter the index entries are made to remain in the intentionally generated slack area in a 4KB-sized index record[7]. In this paper, we propose a maximum data allocation rule for an anti-forensic data hiding method in an NTFS index record; i.e., a computational method for storing optimal data to hide data in an index record of NTFS is developed and the optimal solution is obtained by applying the method. We confirm that the result of analyzing the case where the number of index entries n = 7 is the maximum case, and show the screen captures of index entries as experimental results.

분산 모바일 멀티미디어 통신망에서 파산이론을 적용한 대역폭 할당기법 (A Bandwidth a Allocation Scheme based on Bankruptcy theory in Distributed Mobile Multimedia Network)

  • 본 논문에서는 분산 모바일 멀티미디어 통신망에서 유한한 대역폭을 공정하고 효율적으로 사용하기 위해 파산이론을 적용한 파산 대역폭할당 기법을 제안하였다. 제안된 파산 대역폭할당 기법은 협력게임이론에서 파산이론을 활용하여 파산상황에서 각 서비스의 최소 대역폭보장을 통해 각 서비스의 최소 QoS를 제공한다. 성능평가 결과로 제안한 파산 대역폭 할당기법(BBA)은 CEA, CEL, Reverse Talmud에 비해 공정성지수(FI:Fairness Index)를 통해 공정성 있고, Erlang blocking formular를 통해 서비스 차단율에 대해서도 높은 성능을 보임을 나타냈다. 제안된 파산 대역폭할당 기법은 분산 모바일 멀티미디어 통신망에서, 다양한 상황에서 서비스별 우선순위를 통한 대역폭 할당기법이나 동적인 대역폭 할당기법에 최소 대역폭 할당기준으로도 적용할 수 있다.

Co-authorship Credit Allocation Methods in the Assessment of Citation Impact of Chemistry Faculty

  • This study examined changes in citation index scores and rankings of thirty-five chemistry faculty members at Seoul National University using different co-authorship credit allocation models. Using 1,436 Web of Science papers published between 2007 and 2013, we applied the inflated, fractional, harmonic, network-based allocation, and harmonic+ models to calculate faculty's h-, R-, and normalization of h- and R- index scores and rankings. The harmonic+ model, which is based on our belief that contribution of primary authors should be the same regardless of collaboration, is designed to minimize the penalty for research collaboration imposed by harmonic and NBA models by boosting the contribution of collaborating primary authors to be on the equal footing with single authors. Although citation rankings by different models are correlated with each other within the same type of citation indicator, rankings of many faculty members changed across models, suggesting the importance of an accurate and relevant authorship credit allocation model in the citation assessment of researchers. The study also found that authorship patterns in conjunction with citation counts are important factors for robust authorship models such as harmonic and NBA, and harmonic+ model may be beneficial for collaborating primary authors. Future research that reexamines the models with updated empirical data would provide further insights into the robustness of the models.

Developing an Optimization Module for Water, Energy, and Food Nexus Simulation

  • A nation-wide water-energy-food (WEF) nexus simulation model has been developed by the authors and successfully applied to South Korea to predict the sustainability of those three resources in the next 30 years. The model was also capable of simulating future scenarios of resources allocation based on priority rules aiming to maximize resources sustainability. However, the process was still relying on several assumptions and trial-and-error approach, which sometimes resulted in non-optimal solutions of resources allocation. In this study, an optimization module was introduced to enhance the model in generating optimal resources management rules. The objective of the optimization was to maximize the reliability index of resources by determining the resources' allocation and/or priority rules for each demand type that accordingly reflect the resources management policies. Implementation of the optimization module would result in balanced allocation and management of limited resources and assist the stakeholders in deciding resources' management plans, either by fulfilling the domestic production or by global trading.

NTFS 파일 시스템의 저널 파일을 이용한 파일 생성에 대한 디지털 포렌식 방법 (A Digital Forensic Method for File Creation using Journal File of NTFS File System)

  • This paper proposes a digital forensic method to a file creation transaction using a journal file($LogFile) on NTFS File System. The journal file contains lots of information which can help recovering the file system when system failure happens, so knowledge of the structure is very helpful for a forensic analysis. The structure of the journal file, however, is not officially opened. We find out the journal file structure with analyzing the structure of log records by using reverse engineering. We show the digital forensic procedure extracting information from the log records of a sample file created on a NTFS volume. The related log records are as follows: bitmap and segment allocation information of MFT entry, index entry allocation information, resident value update information($FILE_NAME, $STANDARD_INFORMATION, and INDEX_ALLOCATION attribute etc.).

  • 브로드 캐스트(Broadcast)는 하나 또는 여러 개의 채널을 이용해서 다수의 이동 단말기들이 빈번하게 필요로 하는 데이타를 효과적으로 전송하기 위한 방법 중에 하나이다. 이동 단말기의 배터리 소모량을 최소화하기 위해서, 브로드캐스트 되는 데이타를 위한 접근시간을 최소화하는 것이 가장 중요한 문제로 대두되었다. 이런 관점에서 브로드캐스트 되는 데이타에 인덱스를 제공함으로써 데이타 접근시간을 최소화하는데 초점을 맞춘 연구들이 수행되어 왔다. 이 논문에서는 멀티채널(Multi Channels) 환경에서의 효과적인 브로드캐스트(Broadcast)를 위한 인덱스 할당 방법에 대해 연구하였다. 지금까지 제안된 방법들은 브로드캐스트 되는 데이타와 인덱스의 크기가 같아야 한다는 가정을 필요로 하거나 사용되는 인덱스 트리의 깊이와 같은 수의 채널이 주어지지 않을 경우 본래의 성능을 보이지 못하는 단점을 가지고 있다. 앞에서 언급한 두 가지 문제점은 브로드캐스트 데이타에 대해서 평균 접근시간의 증가를 초래하게 된다. 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위하여 본 논문에서는, 채널을 데이타와 인덱스 채널로 분리한 후, 빈도수가 높은 데이타와 해당 데이타에 대한 트리 구조 인덱스를 보다 많이 브로드캐스트 함으로써 브로드캐스트 데이타에 대한 평균 접근 시간을 최소화하는 방법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서는 제안하는 방법의 실험적 및 이론적인 성능 분석을 이와 비슷한 다른 방법들과 비교함으로써 수행한다. 제시한 방안의 성능 분석은 현존하는 다른 방법과 비교해서 브로드캐스트 데이타에 대해서 현저한 평균 접근 시간 감소를 보여준다.

잠재디리클레할당을 이용한 한국학술지인용색인의 풍력에너지 문헌검토 (Review of Wind Energy Publications in Korea Citation Index using Latent Dirichlet Allocation)

  • The research topics of more than 1,900 wind energy papers registered in the Korean Journal Citation Index (KCI) were modeled into 25 topics using latent directory allocation (LDA), and their consistency was cross-validated through principal component analysis (PCA) of the document word matrix. Key research topics in the wind energy field were identified as "offshore, wind farm," "blade, design," "generator, voltage, control," 'dynamic, load, noise," and "performance test." As a new method to determine the similarity between research topics in journals, a systematic evaluation method was proposed to analyze the correlation between topics by constructing a journal-topic matrix (JTM) and clustering them based on topic similarity between journals. By evaluating 24 journals that published more than 20 wind energy papers, it was confirmed that they were classified into meaningful clusters of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, marine engineering, and renewable energy. It is expected that the proposed systematic method can be applied to the evaluation of the specificity of subsequent journals.
