We implement automobile license plates recognition system. These days automobile license plate recognition systems are widely used for tracing stolen cars. managing parking facilities, ticketing speeding cars, and so on. Recognition systems largely consist of three parts plates extraction, segments extraction, and segment recognition. For plates extraction, we measure the degree of inclination of plate. We use filters that extract only the horizontal components of the front of an automobile to measure the degree of inclination. For segment extraction, we trace the change of the number of blocks that consist solely of foreground pixels or background pixels as the horizontal scanning line moves along upward. For recognition of each individual letter or digit, we devise a variant of template matching method, called comparative template matching. Through experiments, we show that comparative template matching is less prone misled by noises and exhibits higher performance compared to the traditional method of template matching or histogram based recognition.
Purpose: Anatomic configuration of the ankle joint is useful information during various ankle procedures. This study was prospectively designed to investigate the sagittal inclination pattern of the ankle joint. Materials and Methods: Lateral standing ankle radiographs from one-hundred people (age: $17{\sim}68$, M:F=45:55) and magnetic resonance (MR) sagittal ankle images from twenty-four people (age: $16{\sim}65$, M:F=14:10) were studied. Post-traumatic, arthritic, or grossly deformed ankles at any reason were excluded. The posterior inclination angle (PIA) of the distal tibia was measured and compared between the lateral and the medial segment. Results: On plain radiographic data, the average PIA of the distal tibia was $6.14^{\circ}{\pm}3.56^{\circ}$ (range $0^{\circ}$ to $14^{\circ}$) in the lateral segment and $13.16^{\circ}{\pm}3.05^{\circ}$ (range $6^{\circ}$ to $22^{\circ}$) in the medial segment. On MR imaging data, the average PIA of the distal tibia was $5.08^{\circ}{\pm}4.26^{\circ}$ (range $1^{\circ}$ to $10^{\circ})$ in the lateral segment and $10.16^{\circ}{\pm}4.87^{\circ}$(range $5^{\circ}$ to $17^{\circ}$) in the medial segment. The PIA between two segments was significantly different. Conclusion: The sagittal configuration of the medial area ankle joint and the lateral area ankle joint has difference in the degree of posterior inclination and shape of curvature.

PURPOSE. To compare the sagittal condylar inclination (SCI) in dentate individuals measured by the different methods with mechanical articulator (MA), virtual articulator (VA), and a jaw tracking device (JTD) system. MATERIALS AND METHODS. A total of 22 healthy dentate participants were enrolled in this study. For MA workflow, the SCI was obtained by a semi-adjustable articulator with protrusive interocclusal records. The SCI was also set on a VA by aligning intraoral scan (IOS) with cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and facial scan (FS), respectively. These virtual workflows were conducted in a dental design software, namely VAIOS-CBCT and VAIOS-FS. Meanwhile, a JTD system was also utilized to perform the measurement. Intraclass correlation was used to assess the repeatability within workflows. The bilateral SCI values were compared by Wilcoxon matched-pairs signed rank test for each workflow, and Kruskal-Wallis test and post hoc p-value Bonferroni correction were used to compare the differences among four workflows. The agreement of VAIOS-CBCT, VAIOS-FS, and JTD compared with MA was evaluated by Bland-Altman analysis. RESULTS. Intraclass correlation of the SCI revealed a high degree of repeatability for each workflow. There were no significant differences between the left and right sides (P > .05), except for VAIOS-CBCT (P = .028). Significant differences were not found between MA and VAIOS-FS (P > .05). Bland-Altman plots indicated VAIOS-CBCT, VAIOS-FS, and JTD were considered to substitute MA with high 95% limits of agreement. CONCLUSION. The workflow of VAIOS-FS provided an alternative approach to measure the SCI compared with MA.

This study was designed to evaluate the morphology of the temporomandibular joint components and dentofacial characteristics of patients with clicking and painful temporomadibular joint. The materials consisted of 80 conventional pantomographs in normal an symptomatic individuals aged 18-23 and divided into 2 groups by symptom of temporomandibular joint. The results were as follows; 1. In morphologic analysis of condylar head, type Ⅰ (anterior, posterior smooth curve) was most dominant in both group(58.75%, 55.0%) and asymmetrical condylar shape was predominant in symptomatic group (18 cases, 45%). 2. In symptomatic group, the condylar width were slightly lesser and the ratio of condylar height to height of condyle-ramus were larger than those of normal group. 3. Vertical overlap of central incisor of symptomatic group was slightly larger than that of normal group. There was significant differences between each group in mandibular midline deviation. 4. The symptomatic group tended to steep mandibular plane angle and the degree of condylar path and condylar axis of normal group were larger than those of symptomatic group. 5. The condylar width was inversely correlated with inclination of condylar path and inclination of condylar path was correlated with condylar axis in both groups.
Users connect to game server for considerably many hours and perform their roles in MMORPG(Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game), users' immersion degree is very higher than other games, have known affluent contents make users play various roles in game world. However, although contents of games are improved quite much, MMORPG remains still boring game. It is because that the NPC (Non Player Character)' behavior patterns that are the most important elements to make games fun are so simple. So, in this paper we proposed a method to create NPC that react in player's inclination by implanting personality and emotion to NPC.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate changes in the coronal alignment of the knee and ankle joints after open wedge high tibial osteotomy (OWHTO) to determine factors related to the recurrence (R) of the varus deformity by serial analysis. Materials and Methods: Sixty-four OWHTOs were enrolled in this study. The weight bearing line (WBL) ratio, joint line convergence angle (JLCA), knee joint inclination, mechanical axis-tibial plateau angle, talar inclination (TI), and distal tibia articular angle (DTAA) were serially assessed. Serial correlation analysis between all parameters was performed. Patients were divided into R group and no recurrence (NR) group according to the WBL ratio (55%) at postoperative one year. Results: The preoperative WBL ratio showed significantly negative correlation with serial changes of JLCA, TI, and DTAA (p<0.05). The JLCA, TI, and DTAA as well as WBL ratio showed a significantly larger degree of varus alignment in the R group than in NR group at postoperative 6 weeks and 1 year after OWHTO (p<0.05). Conclusions: Sufficient correction of the WBL and restoration of the JLCA during OWHTO are essential to prevention of the R of varus deformity after the surgery because they are the only modifiable factors during surgery. Level of Evidence: IV, Case series.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the stationarity of the electromyographic signal in various flexion angles, loads, and window sizes, which influence the result of the mean power frequency (MPF) and median frequency (MNF) analysis. Six healthy subjects participated in the experiment. They were tested in the combination of 3-level flexion angles (0 degree, 22.5 degree, 45 degree) and 3-level loads (0Nm, 30Nm, 60Nm). Electromyographic data were collected for 20 seconds during isometric contraction. The stationarity of collected data were analyzed with four different window sizes including 250, 500, 1000 and 2000ms. Two test methods for stationarity such as Reverse Arrangements Test and Modified Reverse Arrangements Test were used. In order to show the effect of nonstationarity, the increasing/decreasing trend of MPF and MNF trend were discussed. In results, the stationarity of the electromyographic signal decreased as flexion angle increased and load decreased while window size decreased based on Reverse Arrangements Test. The highest stationarity was shown at 500 ms window in Modified Reverse Arrangements Test. The inclination of MNF and MPF indicated 3.6-6.3%, 3.8-5.1% discrepancy compared to the result from stationary data.
C. H. OH, S. N. CHOI, T. G. NAM, The Kinematic Analysis of the Tennis Flat Serve Motion, Korean Jiurnal of Sports Biomechanics, Vol. 16, No. 2, pp. 97-108, 2006. By the comparison and the analysis of the different factors during the tennis flat serve motion such as the required time per section, the movement displacement of the racket, the velocity of the upper limbs joints, the physical center of gravity, and the angle and the angular velocity of the upper limbs joints between an ace player and a mediocre player, these following results were drawn. First, the experiment result of the total time required per section in a tennis flat serve motion showed that an ace player was faster than a mediocre player by 0.4 seconds. This result suggested that it was required to increase the speed of the racket head by a swift swing to perform an effective flat serve motion. Second, the experiment result of the movement displacement of the racket in the tennis flat serve motion showed that an ace player greatly moved toward the left side on an x-axis. But both an ace and a mediocre player were shown to be at the similar points on a y-axis at the moment of the impact of the racket. An ace player was also shown to be located at a higher position on a z-axis by 0.23m. Third, the velocity of the center of gravity of an ace player was faster in every phase than that of a mediocre player in a tennis flat serve motion. Fourth, the velocity of the upper limb joints of an ace player was faster in every phase than that of a mediocre player in a tennis flat serve motion. Fifth, the experiment result of the speed of the racket head in tennis flat serve motion showed that a mediocre player was faster than an ace player in the first phase, but the latter was faster than the former in the second, third, and the fourth phases. Sixth, at the moment of impact of a tennis flat serve, an ace player had greater flexion of the angle of the wrist joints by an 11.8 degree than a mediocre player. An ace player also had greater extension of the angle of the elbow joint and the shoulder joint respectively by a 5.2 degree and a 1.4 degree with a mediocre player. Seventh, an ace player had greater angular velocity of the upper limb joints and the hip joints than a mediocre player at the moment of the impact of tennis flat serve. Eighth, an ace player was shown to have a greater change of the forward and the backward inclination (or the anterior and posterior inclination) of the upper body
In this study, a 3D coordinate measurement system equipped with a laser displacement meter for digitizing rock joint surface was established and the digitized data were used to calculate several roughness parameters. The parameters used in this study were micro avenge inclination $angle(i_{ave})$, average slope of joint $asperity(SL_{ ave})$, root mean square of $i-angle(i_{rms})$, standard deviation of height(SDH), standard deviation of $i-angle(SD_i)$, roughness profile $index(R_P)$, and fractal dimension(D). The relationships between the roughness parameters based on the digitzation of the surface profile were analyzed. Since the measured value varied according to the degree of reflection and the variation of colors at the measuring point, rock joint surface was painted in white to minimize the influence of the surface conditions. The comparison of the measured values and roughness parameters before and after painting revealed the better consequence from measurement on the painted surfaces. Also, effect of measuring interval was studied. As measured interval was increased, roughness parameters were exponentially decreased. The incremental sequence of degree of decrease was $SDH\; i_{ave},\; i_{rms},\; SD_i,\;and\; R_ p-1$. As a result of comparison of parameters from pin-type measurement system and laser type measurement system, all value of parameters were higher when laser-type measurement system was used, except SDH.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of apical-coronal implant position on the stress distribution after occlusal and oblique loading. Materials and Methods: The cortical and cancellous bone was assumed to be isotropic, homogeneous, and linearly elastic. The implant was apposed to cortical bone in the crestal region and to cancellous bone for the remainder of the implant-bone interface. The cancellous core was surrounded by 2-mm-thick cortical bone. An axial load of 200 N was assumed and a 200-N oblique load was applied at a buccal inclination of 30 degrees to the center of the pontic and buccal cusps. The 3-D geometry modeled in Iron CAD was interfaced with ANSYS. Results: When only the stress in the bone was compared, the minimal principal stress at load Points A and B, with a axial load applied at 90 degrees or an oblique load applied at 30 degrees, for model 5. The von Mises stress in the screw of model 5 was minimal at Points A and B, for 90- and 30-degree loads. When the von Mises stress of the abutment screw was compared at Points A and B, and a 30-degree oblique load, the maximum principal stress was seen with model 2, while the minimum principal stress was with model 5. In the case of implant, the model that received maximum von Mises stress was model 1 with the load Point A and Point B, axial load applied in 90-degree, and oblique load applied in 30-degree. Discussion and Conclusions: These results suggests that implantation should be done at the supracrestal level only when necessary, since it results in higher stress than when implantation is done at or below the alveolar bone level. Within the limited this study, we recommend the use of supracrestal apical-coronal positioning in the case of clinical indications.
