Organoleptic parameters such as color, odor, and flavor influence consumer perception of drinking water quality. This study aims to evaluate the taste of the selected bottled and tap water samples using an electronic tongue (E-tongue) instead of a sensory test. Bottled and tap water's mineral components are related to the overall preference for water taste. Contrary to the sensory test, the potentiometric E-tongue method presented in this study distinguishes taste by measuring the mineral components in water, and the data obtained can be statistically analyzed. Eleven bottled water products from various brands and one tap water from I city in Korea were evaluated. The E-tongue data were statistically analyzed using multivariate statistical tools such as hierarchical clustering analysis (HCA), principal component analysis (PCA), and partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA). The results show that the E-tongue method can clearly distinguish taste discrimination in drinking water differing in water quality based on the ion-related water quality parameters. The water quality parameters that affect taste discrimination were found to be total dissolved solids (TDS), sodium (Na+), calcium (Ca2+), magnesium (Mg2+), sulfate (SO42-), chloride (Cl-), potassium (K+) and pH. The distance calculation of HCA was used to quantify the differences between 12 different types of drinking water. The proposed E-tongue method is a practical tool to quantitatively evaluate the differences between samples in water quality items related to the ionic components. It can be helpful in quality control of drinking water.

Urban expansion has caused environmental problems, traffic jam and real estate. Trend analysis of Urban expansion is needed for analysis and prediction of the existing problem-solving, urban planning and land use. In this study, We constructed database based on MOE(Minister of environment)'s landcover(1980's, 2000's), 1: 25,000 digital topographical map using of DEM and data of the National Statistical Office for urban and build up expand analysis of South Korea. As a result, The rate of increase in population of Gyeonggi-do, Incheon and Ulsan are high but Jeollanam-do is low. Area of development zone was 2.15 fold increase in comparison with before it. Slope aspect is south or east and urban expansion was increase in district such as Chungcheongnam-do, Gyeonggi-do, Jeollanam-do. Existing road of accessibility was high than development zone. Metropolitan city developre it. In conclusion, we found that South Korea urban expansion was developed from metropolitan city. In natural topographical conditions, the development was progress advantageous zone to disadvantageous zone. Also, we found that population was rapidly increase with new development as the center zone in urban expansion zone.
Recent interest in geological heritage has been increased in that it can be used as a basic data onto predicting the global environmental change of its containing information about past global environment. In addition, due to the characteristics of the geological heritage, it is easy to damage and difficult to recover without continuous preservation and management. However, there are more damages occurring because of the sporadic spatial distribution and ambiguous management authority of geological heritage. Therefore, an integrated management system is needed by determining the spatial distribution of geological heritage preferentially. In this study, the detailed criteria for assessment of value from the preliminary studies were applied and the geological heritage grade distribution map was generated by using geospatial data in Seoul metropolitan area. For this purpose, the list of geological heritage sites in the Seoul metropolitan area, which is the study area, were complied through a literature review. The geospatial database was designed and constructed by applying the detailed criteria for assessment of value from the preliminary studies. After the construction of the spatial database, a grade map of the geological heritage was created. As a result of the geological heritage grade map in the Seoul metropolitan area, there were more than 35% of the geological heritage in northern Gyeonggi provinces such as Yeoncheon city (18.8%), Pocheon city (10.6%) and Paju city (6.3%). It is followed by 18.1% in Incheon and 8.1% in Ansan, which is approximately 26.2% in western Gyeonggi Province. The geological age of the geological heritage was the highest at in the fourth stage of the Cenozoic era of 16.9%. Through the results of this study, the geological heritage data of the Seoul metropolitan area were extracted from existing literature data and converted into spatial information. It enables comparing the geological features with the spatial distribution of geological heritage. In addition, a management system has been established based on spatial information of constantly building geological heritage data. This provides the integrated management system of the geological heritage to manage authority so that it can be used as a basis for the development of the geological park. Based on the results of this study, it is considered to be possible to systematically construct and utilize the geological heritage across the country.

N-RTK(Network based RTK) methods are able to improve the accuracy of GNSS positioning results through modelling of the distance-dependent error sources(i.e. primarily the ionospheric and tropospheric delays and orbit errors). In this study, the comparison of the TTFF(Time-To-Fix-First ambiguity), accuracy and discrepancies in horizontal/vertical components of N-RTK methods(VRS and FKP) with the static GNSS at 20 Unified Control Stations covering Incheon metropolitan city area during solar storms(Solar cycle 24 period) were performed. The results showed that the best method, compared with the statics GNSS survey, is the VRS, followed by the FKP, but vertical components of both VRS and FKP were approximately two times bigger than horizontal components. The reason for this is considered as the ionospheric scintillation because of irregularities in electron density, and the tropospheric scintillation because of fluctuations on the refractive index take the place. When the TTFF at each station for each technique used, VRS gave shorter initialization time than FKP. The possible reasons for this result might be the inherent differences in principles, errors in characteristics of different correction networks, interpolating errors of FKP parameters according to the non-linear variation of the dispersive and non-dispersive errors at rover when considering both domestic mobile communication infra and the standardized high-compact data format for N-RTK. Also, those test results revealed degradation of positing accuracy, long initialization time, and sudden re-initialization, but more failures to resolve ambiguity during space weather events caused by Sunspot activity and solar flares.
Due to the continuous expansion of the highway, the opening of the high-speed railway(KTX), etc, the demands of domestic air transport decreasing. In the circumstances, airports and local governments are spending themselves in taking a measure to activate local airports. In this aspect, this study seeks the smooth flow of human movement through the activation of Daegu International Airport by analyzing the present condition of Daegu International Airport in relation to the appearance of the high-speed railway, deducing plans for activating airports, and presenting the roadmaps for long-, mid- and short-term roles for the development of Daegu Airport, and Presents substantial fulfilling plans to secure the competitive power of Daegu International Airport by speeding up the flow of air goods of the area for the long run. It is suggested in the study that by setting up an organization exclusively responsible for activating Daegu International Airport in the city of Daegu, supporting local travel agencies to promote consistent demands, supporting aviation companies to employ Daegu International Airport as a major air base, establishing airlines with priority for airports that open newly in local cities of Japan and establishing and expanding airlines in China areas be promoted actively. Ministry of Construction & Transportation makes it a means of main airport Policy to only support Incheon International Airport to be a hub. However not only Incheon International Airport should be an amok representing the country, but also the wide Metropolitan area should supply the demands, and airports based in the West and East Coast areas need to be developed in the future. It is suggested that since air demands of domestic local airports are based on the demands of the of gin destination in neighboring region, multiple bases need to be developed. It is suggested that by developing not 1 in mega hub (Incheon International Airport) but 1 in mega hub. 2 in regional hub (the West and East Coast) and Jeju foy the tourism hub in our developing airports system.

This study measured the social value of social economy enterprises in Incheon Metropolitan City using the Social Value Index (SVI) developed by the Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency. The results showed that the social value orientation of the business activities of SSEs averaged 9.3 out of 15 points, and their innovation efforts were 8.0 out of 10 points. The average monetary and non-monetary social contribution efforts of SSEs was 5.1 out of 10. When comparing the average sales and social value scores by industry, the manufacturing sector shows that social enterprises have higher average sales and social value orientation of business activities, but lower social return efforts. Social work facility management and business support services have high average sales, but low social value orientation of business activities and efforts to make monetary or non-monetary social contributions. On the other hand, education services; arts, sports, and leisure-related services; and publishing, video, broadcasting, communication, and information services have lower average revenues but higher social value orientation of business activities. These SVI indicators are well utilized by local governments, but not yet by the central government. In the future, governments and public institutions should reflect the differences between sectors when formulating policies for social enterprises.
This study aims to present an evaluation scheme to improve the problems in tree shapes and tree growth which were identified through shape and growth assessments of landscape trees currently planted in Haedoji Park, Songdo, Incheon Metropolitan City after plant structure status and propriety review for funtion of space and concept of planting. Suitability the planting concept was evaluated according to function of space. The result indicated that the shade planting areas accounted for 29.5% of the the shade spaces area. 58.7%, respectively planting areas of visual landscape. And 11.8%, respectively planting areas of buffer. Because the planting areas was lacked according to the park established spatial configuration of central facilities and the result of plant young trees. Plant structure status required consideration with plant structure, density, size, growth status for improve planting function. The tree assessment was performed on a total of 28 species and 600 trees of which 22 species and 209 trees were planted in the buffer zone, 8 species and 71 trees in the shade zone, 16 species and 266 trees in the visual landscape zone, and 4 species and 54 trees in the ecological landscape zone. The trees were divided into grades based on their assessment score and were statistically grouped by the functional zone in where they are planted and by tree species to verify their significance. The tree shape assessment was an average of 56.6 points and the tree growth assessment was an average of 76.0 points. Using the results of the tree assessments, the tree standards for each functional space were identified and a concept of optimum planting and cultivating was applied. When applying the shape assessment results by zone to the concept of planting, since trees for buffering require high functionality they received E's, the lowest grade; as trees for ecological landscaping require diverseness and naturalness, they received D's; since trees for shading require utilization, they received C's as trees with branching at the main stems were considered; and since trees for visual landscaping required aesthetical value, they received A's and B's. When applying the growth assessment results by zone to the concept of planting, based on planting foundations of favorable and poor, for buffering, visual landscaping, and ecological landscaping, trees from grades A to E could be planted, and for shading, trees from grades A to C could be planted. For a cultivation plan that could improve the growth of the trees, we proposed that the topography of the land be selected considering the tree's characteristics and that a method of pot seeding be used. Also, to improve the shape of the trees, we proposed that poles be used to improve the growth of vertically-straight stems, an appropriate planting density be applied for reasonable branch growth, manage tree shape to maintain good crowning, and better manage fertilization to maintain a reasonable crown density.

In smart card data, movement of railway passengers appears in order of smart card terminal ID. The initial terminal ID holds information on the entering station's tag-in railway line, the final terminal ID the exit station tag-out railway line, and the middle terminal ID the transfer station tag subway line. During the past, when the metropolitan city rail consisted of three public corporations (Seoul Metro, Incheon Transit Corporation, and Korail), OD data was expressed in two metrics of initial and final smart card terminal ID. Recently, with the entrance of private corporations like Shinbundang Railroad Corporation, and UI Corporation, inclusion of entering transfer line terminal ID and exiting transfer line terminal ID as part of Chain OD has become standard. Exact route construction using Chain OD has thus become integral as basic data for revenue allocation amongst metropolitan railway transport corporations. Accordingly, path detection in railway networks has evolved to an optimal path detection problem using Chain OD, hence calling for a renewed solution method. This research proposes an optimal path detection method between the initial terminal ID and final terminal ID of Chain OD terminal IDs within the railway network. Here, private line transfer TagIn/Out must be reflected in optimal path detection using Chain OD. To achieve this, three types of link-based optimum path detection methods are applied in order of 1. node-link, 2. link-link, 3. link-node. The method proposed based on additional path costs is shown to satisfy the optimal conditions.

This study is purposed to evaluate the airborne asbestos concentrations in life environment surroundings in Seoul. In study, we investigated airborne asbestos concentrations in thirteen subway stations, four monitoring networks and each vicinity roadside, six stream surroundings, four tunnels quarterly and we also investigated relationship between the airborne asbestos concentrations and ambient temperature in monitoring networks and time-based airborne asbestos concentration variability for two typical monitoring networks, two subway stations transferred and used by lots of people through Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). The airborne asbestos concentrations by PCM for 4 objects of study were less than the detection limit (7 fiber/$mm^2$) in 111 (50%) out of 223 samples. The highest concentration was 0.0130 f/cc. But additional TEM analysis result for samples exceeding the guideline value for indoor air quality (0.01 f/cc) proposed by the Ministry of Environment (Korea), no asbestos was detected. Similarly TEM analysis result for 124 samples, no asbestos was detected. The average airborne asbestos concentrations by PCM in subway stations, monitoring networks, streams and tunnels were $0.0041{\pm}0.0027$ f/cc, $0.0015{\pm}0.0011$ f/cc, $0.0024{\pm}0.0012$ f/cc and $0.0016{\pm}0.0020$ f/cc. All objects of study were satisfied with the guideline value for indoor air quality. The relationship between the airborne asbestos concentrations and ambient temperature in monitoring networks was generally positive correlation (r = 0.660). The higher ambient temperature was and the more transient population was, the airborne asbestos concentrations by time for two subway stations were increased. While the airborne asbestos concentrations for two monitoring networks showed no variation pattern according to time.

In a study on THMs formation at the distribution facilities in Seoul water supply for past 3 years from 2007 to 2009, THMs production was increased from inlet to outlet during the process in water treatment plant. However, such increased THMs amount was very small compared to THMs production formed after pre-chlorination and post chlorination. Accordingly, this study is aimed to investigate the characteristics of water quality parameters of Han River related to THMs formation in 6 water treatment plants in Seoul. The results showed that THMs and other factors such as temperature (r = 0.539~0.846) and turbidity (r = 0.421~0.863) had positive correlation while THMs had negative correlation with pH (r = -0.613~-0.800) and algae (r = -0.582~-0.901). There is no correlation between THMs and $NH_3-N$. According to the factor analysis, generally metabolite and organic matter factor $X_1$ (pH, BOD, algae), and seasonal and natural factor $X_2$ (temperature, turbidity) played an important role in the formation of THMs. Multiple regression analysis for THMs formation showed significance of regression appeared in most water systems.
