The purpose of this study is to analyze the problems of operating the Direct Payment Program for Rural Landscape Preservation and to derive the way of improvement based on case study for three areas in Bonghwa-gun, Cheongwon-gun, Hongseong-gun. The most important factor for the program is farmer's consciousness and positive participation of the farmer who are the subject of this project. Even if farmers are not satisfied with the amount of direct payment income, they try to create income by utilizing landscape preservation crops. Particularly current unit payment dose not surpass the for the crops farm operating costs and payment time is not appropriate for the farming cycle. Hence, it needs to be considered increasing unit payment and rearranging the payment time. Also, we need to introduce incentive system based the degree of fulfillment of the Direct Payment Program in each areas. In general the Direct Payment Program for Rural Landscape Preservation has potentiality to contribute farmer's income stability and the vitalization of region with three revisions.
There has been considerable controversy over the impacts of the tax credit on R&D expenditures in many countries. Korea has adopted various kinds of tax credit system to stimulate private firm' R&D expenditures. Korean government, Recently, is trying to reform tax system to reduce tax credit programmes according to Uruguay Round agreement and in line with OECD policy standards. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the effectiveness of current tax credit system on technology innovation in Korea and derive some policy implications over tax reform. In this paper, firstly, I investigate the size of tax reduction effects from each program in theoretical models and simulate the actual rate of individual tax incentive to a unit of R&D expenditure. I find that theoretically the reserve fund for technology development program has given the largest tax reduction effects to private firms irrespective of the R&D incentive system reform. Tax credit on R&D expenditure also has been very effective instrument to firm's tax reduction. Secondly, I try to measure the effectiveness of tax credit through the estimation of effective margianl tax rate between with the system and without the system of credit on R&D expenditure during the tax credit reform periods. I find that the tax credit on R&D has lowered firm's investment cost since the system introduced. I also have strong results that there has been a positive relation between the fluctuation of firm's R&D expenditure and the change of effective marginal tax rate. I suggest that it is better to sustain the system of tax credit on R&D for a while to increase firm's R&D expenditure.
Over the years, most or many companies have focused their attention to the effectiveness and efficiency of their business units. As a new way of doing business, these companies have begun to realize the strategic importance of planning, controlling, and designing their own supply chain system. This paper analyzes the coordination issues in supply chains that consist of one manufacturer and multiple retailers operating under uncertain end customer demand and delivery lead-time. We use the Genetic Algorithm (GA) to determine the appropriate ordering and inventory level at which the manufacturer and multiple retailers can maximize the profit of the chain. This is performed under three controlling policies: the traditionally centralized controlling policy under the manufacturer's perspective, the entire chain’s perspective, and lastly the coordinating controlling policy with an incentive scheme. The outcome from the study reveals that the coordinating controlling policy with an incentive scheme can outperform the traditional centralized controlling policies by creating a win-win situation in which all members of the chain benefit from higher profit, thus resulting in more willingness from all members to join the chain.

Since the reformation of the National Health Insurance Act in 2000, the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA) in the Republic of Korea has performed quality assessments for healthcare providers. The HIRA Value Incentive Program (VIP), established in July 2007, provides incentives for excellent-quality institutions and disincentives for poorquality ones. The program is implemented based on data collected between July 2007 and December 2009. The goal of the VIP is to improve the overall quality of care and decrease the quality gaps among healthcare institutions. Thus far, the VIP has targeted acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and Caesarian section (C-section) care. The incentives and disincentives awarded to the hospitals by their composite quality scores of the AMI and C-section scores. The results of the VIP showed continuous and marked improvement in the composite quality scores of the AMI and C-section measures between 2007 and 2010. With the demonstrated success of the VIP project, the Ministry of Health and Welfare expanded the program in 2011 to include general hospitals. The HIRA VIP was deemed applicable to the Korean healthcare system, but before it can be expanded further, the program must overcome several major concerns, as follows: inclusion of resource use measures, rigorous evaluation of impact, application of the VIP to the changing payment system, and expansion of the VIP to primary care clinics.
This paper exploited the data reported in BK21 program of professors' research performances and analyzed the effects of reputational concerns on professors' research performances. According to the established theory of reputation effects in incentive provision, a professor's research incentive gets stronger if one's ability is less known, and one's colleagues' abilities are better known. We confirmed this theoretical hypothesis of reputation effects. Moreover, we found that a professor's research incentive was larger under inter-generational grouping in terms of age distribution and homogeneous grouping in terms of ability uncertainty.

This paper presents a new approach for determining an accurate incentive levels of Direct Load Control (DLC) program using sequential Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS) techniques. The economic analysis of DLC resources needs to identify the hourly-by-hourly expected energy-not-served resulting from the random outage characteristics of generators as well as to reflect the availability and duration of DLC resources, which results the computational explosion. Therefore, the conventional methods are based on the scenario approaches to reduce the computation time as well as to avoid the complexity of economic studies. In this paper, we have developed a new technique based on the sequential MCS to evaluate the required expected load control amount in each hour and to decide the incentive level satisfying the economic constraints. In addition, the mathematical formulation for DLC programs' economic evaluations are developed. To show the efficiency and effectiveness of the suggested method, the numerical studies have been performed for the modified IEEE reliability test system.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate work values of hospital employees. Their work values was compared with that of other corporate's employees or among that of specialties in hospital. It was surveyed to 893 persons; 164 in hospital and 709 in others. The work values of hospital employees are similar to that of other corporate's employees. But they have first priority to working environment, and emphasize monetary incentive much more than hierarchical development. There are some gap in work value between age groups in hospital, different from other corporate. That means hospital manager need to development the more developed work value in hospital. The work values are different in monetary incentive, hierarchical development, safety, working environment, creativity among specialties in hospital. The more special employees emphasize much more to monetary incentive, hierarchical development, working environment and the less special employees have priority to safety work value. Specially, because the hospital managers want to have safety than creativity, it must to make some changing program of work value for advance of future hospital.

The purposes of this research were: 1) to investigate the effect of participatory management on financial information asymmetry, 2) to investigate the effect of corporate governance on financial information asymmetry, 3) to examine the influences of benefits incentives on financial information asymmetry, and 4) to test the mediating effects of benefits incentive that influences the relationship between participatory management, corporate governance, and financial information asymmetry. The research sample consisted of 388 Thai-listed firms. Data were collected through a survey questionnaire. Descriptive analysis, Multiple Regression Analysis, and Structural Equation Modeling were used for the data analysis. The results revealed: 1) participatory management and participation in evaluation had a negative influence on financial information asymmetry. 2) Corporate governance and the rights of shareholders had a negative influence on financial information asymmetry. 3) Benefits incentive was negatively associated with financial information asymmetry. 4) The model's influences of participatory management, corporate governance on the reduction of financial information asymmetry through benefits incentive as mediator fit the empirical data (Chi-square = 104.459, df = 84, p = 0.065, GFI = 0.967, RMSEA = 0.025). The variables in the model explained 78.00% and 4.70 % of the variance of benefits incentive and financial information asymmetry, respectively.
To analyze the port choice hierarchy, factorial and AHP analysis were conducted based on the survey for shippers using west coastal ports. As the result of analysis with 17 factors, 6 main factors; port service, port operation and geographical condition, connectivity to hinterland, port cost, accessibility and facilities were chosen. Based on this, AHP and correlation analysis of each factor were conducted. And the results were shown as cost, service, facility, connectivity, accessibility and operation in order. In addition, several ways for incentive program, the most important factor based on AHP analysis, to influence shippers around west coastal port were reviewed. As the result of review for the incentive program of domestic container ports, it was shown that three ports, Gun-san, Dae-san and Mok-po, offer incentive to shipper while two ports, Pyeong-tak and Dang-jin, do not. Therefore, the former three ports need to reinforce the existing incentive program while the latter ones introduce it.
