This study was conducted to determine the effects of stevia (Stevia rebaudiana bertoni) and charcoal supplementation on growth performance, immune response and carcass characteristics of finishing pigs. A total of 420 pigs (LYD) were randomly allocated into 7 treatments with 3 replications. Dietary treatments were 1) T1 (basal diet), 2) T2 (basal diet+0.3% stevia), 3) T3 (basal diet+0.6% stevia), 4) T4 (basal diet+0.3% charcoal), 5) T5 (basal diet+0.6% charcoal), 6) T6 (basal diet+0.3% stevia+0.3% charcoal) and 7) T7 (basal diet+0.6% stevia+0.6% charcoal). During the experimental period, average daily gain (ADG) was higher in T2 and T6 groups than the other treatments (p<0.05). Feed conversion ratio (FCR) was higher in T6 group compared to the others (p<0.05). There were no significant differences in total cholesterol level and glutamic pyruvic transaminase (GPT) activity of blood among treatments. In glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT) activity, T3, T5, T6 and T7 groups showed lower values (p<0.05) compared to T1. Insulin-like growth factor-1 concentration was higher in T2 and T6 groups than the others (p<0.05), but there were no significant differences in immunoglobulin G, lymphocyte, eosinophil, basophil and atypical lymph levels among treatments. In neutrophil, T6 showed higher level compared to the others (p<0.05). In the carcass characteristics, T6 showed higher level of a carcass grade compared to the other treatments. However, carcass length did not show any significant difference among treatments. As a result, dietary supplementation of 0.3% stevia and 0.3% charcoal showed higher ADG, higher FCR and better immune response resulting in better growth performance and carcass characteristics of finishing pigs.
T4 endonuclease V (T4 endo V) [EC 3. 1. 25. 1], found in bacteriophage T4, is responsible for excision repair of damaged DNA. The enzyme possesses two activities: a cyclobutane pyrimidine dimer DNA glycosylase (CPD glycosylase) and an apyrimidic/apurinic endonuclease (AP lyase). T4 denV (414 bp cDNA) encoding T4 en do V (138 amino acid) was synthesized and expressed using either an expression vector, pTriEx-4, in E. coli or a baculovirus AcNPV vector, pBacPAK8, in insect cells. The recombinant His-Tag/T4 endo V (rHis-Tag/T4 endo V) protein expressed from bacteria was purified using one-step affinity chromatography with a HiTrap Chelating HP column and used to make rabbit anti-His-Tag/T4 endo V polyclonal antibody for detection of recombinant T4 endo V (rT4 endo V) expressed in insect cells. In the meantime, the recombinant baculovirus was obtained by cotransfection of BacPAK6 viral DNA and pBP/T4 endo V in Spodoptera frugiperda (Sf21) insect cells, and used to infect Sf21 cells to overexpress T4 endo V protein. The level of rT4 endo V protein expressed in Sf21 cells was optimized by varying the virus titers and time course of infection. The optimal expression condition was set as follows; infection of the cells at a MOI of 10 and harvest at 96 h post-infection. Under these conditions, we estimated the amount of rT4 endo V produced in the baculovirus expression vector system to be 125 mg/l. The rT4 endo V was purified to homogeneity by a rapid procedure, consisting of ion-exchange, affinity, and reversed phase chromatographies, based on FPLC. The rT4 endo V positively reacted to an antiserum made against rHis-Tag/T4 endo V and showed a residual nicking activity against CPD-containing DNA caused by UV. This is the first report to have T4 endo V expressed in an insect system to exclude the toxic effect of a bacterial expression system, retaining enzymatic activity.

Purpose: To compare the depiction of brain metastases on contrast-enhanced images with 7.0 tesla (T) and at 1.5T MRI. Materials and Methods: Four consecutive patients with brain metastases were scanned on 7.0T whole-body scanner and 1.5T MRI. A 3D T1-weighted gradient echo sequence (3D T1-GRE) at 1.5T (voxel size = $0.9{\times}0.9{\times}1.5mm^3$ after double-dose, gadoterate meglumine, Gd-DOTA) was compared to a 7.0T 3D T1-GRE sequence (voxel size = $0.4{\times}0.4{\times}0.8mm^3$, single-dose Gd-DOTA) in four patients after a 5 minute delay. The number of contrast-enhancing metastases in MPRAGE images was compared in each patient by two radiologists in consensus. We measured contrast ratio of enhancing brain metastases and white matter in 1.5T and 7.0T. Results: In all four patients 7.0T 3D T1-GRE images after single-dose Gd-DOTA and 1.5T after double-dose Gd-DOTA depicted 11 brain metastases equally. In the quantitative analysis of contrast ratios of enhancing brain metastases and white matter, the 1.5T 3D T1-GRE after double-dose showed an increased contrast ratio compared to 7.0T 3D T1-GRE after single-dose ($0.961{\pm}0.571$ versus $0.885{\pm}0.494$; n = 11 metastases). But this difference was not statistically significant (P = 0.711). Conclusion: Our preliminary results indicate that 7.0T single-dose Gd-enhanced images were not different to 1.5T double-dose Gd-enhanced images for the detection of brain metastases.

The study was to determine the effects of diverse concentrations of T-2 toxin in broiler diet. Three hundred 1-day-old chicks with initial body weight of 46 ± 0.52 g were chosen and randomly assigned into five dietary treatments with 5 replicate cages and 12 broilers per cage for 42 d feeding trial. Dietary treatments were prepared with basal diets containing 0 (T1), 50 (T2), 100 (T3), 150 (T4), 200 (T5) ppb T2-toxin. Significant results were observed in the decreased intake of feed, feed conversion ratio (FCR), body weight gain (BWG), level of serum protein, cholesterol and hemoglobulin of broilers in increased concentration of the T-2 toxin in diet (150 and 200 ppb) groups than control. Also, observed that the uric acid, serum glutamic pyruvic transferase (SGPT), serum glutamic oxaloacetic transferase (SGOT) and Heterophil/Lymphocyte (H/L) ratio value were significantly higher (p < 0.05) in groups T4 and T5 than control. However, the BWG, feed intake and FCR, as well blood biochemical profiles of serum protein, cholesterol, hemoglobulin, uric acid, SGPT, SGOT and H/L ratio in groups T2 and T3 were statistically similar to control diet of broilers. It was concluded that the results showed that no adverse effects on growth performance and blood biochemical parameters in broilers feed with T-2 toxin (50 and 100 ppb) during the entire trial.
The effect of vitamin E supplementation on plasma ${\alpha}$-tocopherol level, total antioxidant level and reproductive performance in Murrah buffaloes was studied during periparturient period. Twenty-four advance pregnant buffaloes were randomly divided into four equal groups as $T_1$, $T_2$, $T_3$ and $T_4$ and were supplemented with 0, 1,000, 1,500 and 2,000 IU of ${\alpha}$-tocopheryl acetate (Merck) from 60 days prepartum to 30 days postpartum and 0, 500, 750 and 1,000 IU from 30 to 60 days postpartum, respectively. Blood samples were collected at -60, -45, -30, -15, -7, 0, 7, 15, 30 and 60 days of parturition and were analyzed for plasma ${\alpha}$-tocopherol and total antioxidant activity (TAA). The intake of DM, CP and TDN did not vary among different groups. Plasma ${\alpha}$-tocopherol and TAA around parturition (-7 to 15 day) in $T_3$ and $T_4$ were significantly higher than the control group. There was 17% reduction in retention of fetal membranes (RFM) and metritis in $T_4$ than control. The post partum estrus interval averaged 58.00, 55.33, 51.83 and 43.00 days in $T_1$, $T_2$, $T_3$ and $T_4$ respectively. There was significant reduction in days open in both $T_3$ and $T_4$ in comparison to $T_1$ group (127,130 Vs.146). All the vitamin E supplemented groups showed reduction in days open than their previous lactation performance. Supplementation of vitamin E at $1,500IU\;d^{-1}$ from 60 day prepartum to 30 day post partum to buffaloes exhibited beneficial effect on plasma ${\alpha}$-tocopherol level and TAA around parturition and continuation of its supplementation at $1,000IU\;d^{-1}$ from 30 to 60 days of lactation improved post partum reproductive performance of buffaloes.

The Internet of Things (IoT), combined with various technologies, is rapidly becoming an integral part of our daily life. While it is rapidly taking root in society, security considerations are relatively insufficient, making it a major target for cyber attacks. Since all devices in the IoT environment are connected to the Internet and are closely used in daily life, the damage caused by cyber attacks is also serious. Therefore, encryption communication using a network security protocol must be considered for a service in a more secure IoT environment. A representative network security protocol includes TLS (Transport Layer Protocol) defined by the IETF. This paper analyzes the performance measurement results for TLS version 1.2 and version 1.3 in an IoT device open platform environment to predict the load of TLS, a representative network security protocol, in IoT devices with limited resource characteristics. In addition, by analyzing the performance of each major cryptographic algorithm in version 1.3, we intend to present a standard for setting appropriate network security protocol properties according to IoT device specifications.
A bounded linear Hilbert space operator T is said to be k-quasi-class A operator if it satisfy the operator inequality $T^{*k}{\mid}T^2{\mid}T^k{\geq}T^{*k}{\mid}T{\mid}^2T^k$ for a non-negative integer k. It is proved that if T is a k-quasi-class A contraction, then either T has a nontrivial invariant subspace or T is a proper contraction and the nonnegative operator $D=T^{*k}({\mid}T^2{\mid}-{\mid}T{\mid}^2)T^k$ is strongly stable.
Open IoT platform that shares communication infrastructure and provides cloud resources can flexibly reduce development period and cost of smart service. In this paper, as an open IoT platform, we propose a virtual IoT system based on edge computing that implements a virtual IoT device for a physical IoT device and allows service developers to interact with the virtual device. A management server in the edge cloud, near the IoT physical device, manages the creation, movement, and removal of virtual IoT devices corresponding to the physical IoT devices. This paper define the operations of the management server, the physical IoT device, and the virtual IoT device, which are major components of the virtual IoT system, and design the communication protocol required to perform the operations. Finally, through simulations, this paper evaluate the performance of the edge computing based virtual IoT system by confirming that each component performs the defined states and operations as designed.
The purpose of this study was to compare and analyze the differences in scan time, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) in the third lumbar vertebral region including the back fat, spinal cord, and cerebrospinal fluid using the mDixon, T2 TSE, and T2 spectral pre-saturation with inversion-recovery (SPIR) techniques. With the factors affecting the SNR fixed, the lumbar sagittal plane images of 30 adults were compared on mDixon, T2 TSE, and T2 SPIR imaging tests. The test times for mDixon, T2 TSE, and T2 SPIR were 115 seconds, 60 seconds, and 60 seconds, respectively. The mDixon T2 images showed higher SNR than the T2 TSE images at the third lumbar vertebral region (p<0.05), lower SNR in the back fat and cerebrospinal fluid (p<0.05) areas, and comparable SNR in the spinal cord (p>0.05). The CNR between the third lumbar vertebral area and back fat was higher in the mDixon T2 images, and the CNR of the cerebrospinal fluid and spinal cord images was higher in the T2 TSE images (p<0.05). The mDixon T2 FS images CNR was lower for the 3rd lumbar vertebral body region and back fat than the T2 SPIR images, and higher for the spinal cord and cerebrospinal fluid images (p<0.05). The CNR between the third lumbar body and back fat areas was higher in the mDixon T2 FS images (p<0.05), and there was no difference in the CNR in the images of the cerebrospinal fluid and the spinal cord (p>0.05). It is difficult to determine whether the mDixon technique is superior to the conventional T2 TSE and T2 SPIR techniques in terms of test time, SNR, and CNR. This study was confined to patients with simple lower back pain and was limited by controlled experimental conditions. Studies using clinically applied protocols are warranted in the future.
This paper shows that the solutions to the perturbed dierential system $$y^{\prime}=f(t,y)+{\int}_{t_o}^{t}g(s,y(s))ds+h(t,y(t),Ty(t))$$ have bounded property. To show this property, we impose conditions on the perturbed part ${\int}^{t}_{t_o}g(s,y(s))ds+h(t,y(t),Ty(t))$ and on the fundamental matrix of the unperturbed system y' = f(t, y).
