  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the radiation dose data of the space crew of the flight crew and to present a plan for the health management of the flight crew on the basis of the analysis. The analysis show that the average exposure dose of the flight attendants continued to rise, and the exposure dose of the flight attendants was five(5) times higher than that of the radiation workers. As a way to reduce the effects of cosmic radiation, this paper suggests appropriate personnel allocation by model, balanced allocation of high and low latitude routes by crew according to the aircraft type, and a low altitude flight plan for high latitude flight. This study will help aviation crew members understand cosmic radiation and trust in the company's policies. In the future, it will be necessary to enhance the flight safety of the crew by deriving meaningful results by analyzing data related to cosmic radiation of various routes.

  • To develop a high-resolution electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) payload to be mounted on a high-speed and performance fighter aircraft in an external POD for acquiring daytime and nighttime image information on tactical targets, simulations, including flight environments and maneuvers, should be performed. Such simulations are pertinent to predicting the performance of several variables, such as aerodynamic force and inertia load acting on the payload. This paper describes the development of a flight data acquisition and analysis system based on flight simulation software (SW) for mission simulation of super-maneuverability fighter equipped with EO/IR payload. The effectiveness of the system is verified through comparison with actual flight data. The proposed flight data acquisition and analysis system based on FlightGear can be used as an M&S tool for system performance analysis in the development of the EO/IR payload.

  • Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI), in collaboration with the NASA Goddard Sparce Flight Center (GSFC), will develop a next generation coronagraph for the International Space Station (ISS). COronal Diagnostic EXperiment (CODEX) uses multiple filters to obtain simultaneous measurements of electron density, temperature, and velocity within a single instrument. CODEX's regular, systematic, comprehensive dataset will test theories of solar wind acceleration and source, as well as serve to validate and enable improvement of space-weather/operational models in the crucial source region of the solar wind. CODEX subsystems include the coronagraph, pointing system, command and data handling (C&DH) electronics, and power distribution unit. CODEX is integrated onto a standard interface which provides power and communication. All full resolution images are telemeters to the ground, where data from multiple images and sequences are co-added, spatially binned, and ratioed as needed for analysis.

  • Current flight maneuver diagram used by pilots is based on 2D spatial presentation, so it has limitation on display 3D flight information and hard to understand it instinctively. Flight animation authoring tools for this diagram are complex to use and lack useful features like non-linear editing of flight path and real-time interactivity on multiple aircrafts. This research focuses on 3D flight path generation method in the animation system for flight maneuver education. This research combines initial sketch input on 2D diagram with the thrust of an aircraft to generate 3D linear spline as close as to real flight. Using suggested linear spline creation method, the flight path can be visualized, edited, and animated in real-time at the flight maneuver briefing and debriefing.

  • This research examined how pilots perceive risks when faced with emergency flight situations. We had 116 commercial airline pilots evaluate riskiness of 39 non-routine flight situations. The pilots' risk perception was analyzed as a function of their position (captain vs. first officer), expertise (expert vs. novice), and military flight experience (with vs. without military experience). Results showed that captains evaluated potential-risk situations and low-risk situations more dangerous than first officers. However, there were no differences between experts and novices, and between pilots having military flight experience and pilots not having military flight experience in risk perception. The analysis of multi-dimensional scaling revealed that the pilots used controllability as a key dimension for evaluating riskiness, though the other dimensions they used varied with their position, expertise, and military flight experience.

  • In this paper, two different flight training devices were constructed to verify the effectiveness of a pilot training system based on a Virtual Reality Head Mount Display. VFR Flight Procedure and IFR Flight Procedure were conducted by high level pilots with Commercial Pilot Licence. Flight data and pilot's visual data for each flight procedure were extracted, compared and analyzed with two training systems. Finally, the effectiveness of the training systems based on the VR HMD was demonstrated by assessing the given mission and the flight results.

  • In this study, we implemented a formation flight control system using two drones. Ground control system communicates with drones by MAVLink protocol, does keep watch on drone's status and sends simultaneously formation flight instructions to drones in real time. Two drones have been able to fly by a formation flight algorithm without crashing while maintaining the same speed, and a constant distance and altitude.

  • The flight simulator should be made like a actual flight. For the scene of sight, instrument should show the condition of flight and the pilot should catch the altitude, speed, pose and rate of lift of the airplane. The paper describes 3D flight visual training program of driving airplane in practice. It is for beginners using joystick in PC, implements airplane physical equations. And it uses rendering technology to implement vision parts of flying object.
