  • Noise removal is one of the required step in processing digital video and there are many researches to develop algorithm that fits with its purpose and environment. However, present impulse noise removal methods are lacking in its function in terms of removing noise in edge and high frequency factors. Therefore, this research has Extended range of masks depending on density to determine noise so that high frequency factors can be preserved. The range of resolution is set based on median and standard deviation of inside resolution after removing impulse noise. afterwards, those resolution within the range are calculated by adding weight to have the final output value. The suggested algorithm has an enhanced function in removing noise in various areas with many edge and high frequency factors than present methods and their functions are compared through simulation.

  • The introduction of tracer gas techniques to ventilation studies in indoor environments provides valuable information that used to be unattainable from conventional testing environments. Data acquisition systems (DASs) containing analogue-to-digital (A/D) converters are usually used to function the key role that records signals to storage in digital format. In the testing process, there exist a number of components in the measuring equipment which may produce system-based inference to the monitored results. These unwanted fluctuations may cause significant error in data analysis, especially when non-linear algorithms are involved. In this study, a pre-processor is developed and applied to separate the unwanted fluctuations (noise or interference) in raw measurements and to reduce the uncertainty in the measurement. Moving average, notch filter, FIR (Finite Impulse Response) filters, and IIR (Infinite Impulse Response) filters are designed and applied to collect the desired information from the raw measurements. Tracer gas concentrations are monitored during leakage and ventilation tests in the model test room. The signal analysis functions are introduced to carry out the digital signal processing (DSP) work. Overall the FIR filters process the $CO_2$ measurement properly for ventilation rate and mean age of air calculations. It is found that, the Kaiser filter was the most applicable digital filter for pre-processing the tracer gas measurements. Although the IIR filters help to reduce the random noise in the data, they cause considerable changes to the filtered data, which is not desirable.

  • With the development of IoT technologies and artificial intelligent, diverse digital image equipments are being used in industrial sites. Because image data can be easily damaged by noise while it's obtained with a camera or a sensor and the damaged image has a bad effect on the process of image processing, noise removal is being demanded as preprocessing. In this thesis, for the restoration of image damaged by the noise of random impulse, a switching filter algorithm based on noise estimation was suggested. With the proposed algorithm, noise estimation and error distraction were carried out according to the similarity of the pixel values in the local mask of the image, and a filter was chosen and switched depending on the ratio of noise existing in the local mask. Simulations were conducted to analyze the noise removal performance of the proposed algorithm, and as a result of magnified image and PSNR comparison, it showed superior performance compared to the existing method.

  • In modern society digital equipments that are related with various hardware and software are popularized, and digital images are widely applied in the field of production and scientific research. In general, however, images are degraded by the noise in the process of transmission and storage. In this paper, to reduce the influence of mixed noises, the algorithm in which noises in the space area are classified into impulse noise and Gaussian noise and this is processed by applying weighted value, while that is processed by modified nonlinear filter is proposed. And the excellence of the proposed algorithm is judged by PSNR(peak signal to noise ratio).

  • Image signal related technology has been developing via various display equipment development and popularization of contents. However, errors occur in these image contents due to addition of excess noise from several cause during the process of general image signal data processing, transmission and storage. In terms of noise added to the image content, there are various types in accordance with cause of occurrence and form, and it is typically impulse noise, gaussian noise and complex noise which is composed of two types of overlapping noise. In this paper, complex algorithm is suggested in order to lessen the effect of mixed noise added to the image content by putting it through noise judgement process and categorizing each into impulse and gaussian noise and processing them separately. And in order to demonstrate the superiority of the suggested algorithm, PSIN(peak signal to noise ratio) was used as the standard of judgement.

  • Conventional synchronization algorithms for impulse radio require high-speed sampling and a precise local clock. Here, a phase-locked loop (PLL) scheme is introduced to acquire and track periodical impulses. The proposed impulse PLL (iPLL) is analyzed under an ideal Gaussian noise channel and multipath environment. The timing synchronization can be recovered directly from the locked frequency and phase. To make full use of the high harmonics of the received impulses efficiently in synchronization, the switching phase detector is applied in iPLL. It is capable of obtaining higher loop gain without a rise in timing errors. In different environments, simulations verify our analysis and show about one-tenth of the root mean square errors of conventional impulse synchronizations. The developed iPLL prototype applied in a high-speed ultra-wideband transceiver shows its feasibility, low complexity, and high precision.

  • Edges include various important informations of the objects. These edges are being applied in numerous areas and there is a detection method using mask in existing edge detection methods. These existing edge detection methods are simple to realize. However, because the fixed mask is used, edge detection characteristics in complicated noise environments are somewhat unsatisfactory. Therefore, to compensate for the weakness in the existing detection methods, edge detection algorithm which uses the standard deviation of local mask and noise elimination was proposed.

  • In this paper, a new blind signal processing scheme for equalization in fading and impulsive-noise channel environments is introduced based on probability density functionmatching method and a set of Dirac-delta functions. Gaussian kernel of the proposed blind algorithm has the effect of cutting out the outliers on the difference between the desired level values and impulse-infected outputs. And also the proposed algorithm has relatively less sensitivity to channel eigenvalue ratio and has reduced computational complexity compared to the recently introduced correntropy algorithm. According to these characteristics, simulation results show that the proposed blind algorithm produces superior performance in multi-path communication channels corrupted with impulsive noise.

  • Image media is used for the internet, computers and digital cameras as part of the core services of multimedia. Digital images can be easily acquired and processed, due to the development of digital home appliances and personal computers' application software. However, image degradation occurs by various external causes in the acquisition, processing and transmitting process of digital images, and its main cause is known to be noise. Therefore, this study proposed and conducted the simulation of image restoration filter algorithm that processes impulse noise and Gaussian noise by applying Lagrange interpolation and spatial weighted method according to distance, respectively. The proposed algorithm improved 8.77[dB], 8.83[dB] and 10.02[dB], respectively, compared to existing A-TMF, AWMF and MMF, as a result of processing by applying the damaged Girl images to impulse noise(P=60%) and Gaussian noise(${\sigma}=10$).

  • Under the influence of the 4th industrial revolution, various technologies such as artificial intelligence and automation are being grafted into industrial sites, and accordingly, the importance of data processing is increasing. Digital images may generate noise due to various reasons, and may affect various systems such as image recognition and classification and object tracking. To compensate for these shortcomings, we propose an image restoration algorithm based on pattern information of non-noise pixels. According to the distribution of non-noise pixels inside the filtering mask, the proposed algorithm switched the filtering process by dividing the interpolation method into a pattern that can be applied, a pattern based on region division, and a randomly arranged pixel pattern. preserves and restores the image. The proposed algorithm showed superior performance compared to the existing impulse noise removal algorithm.
