유압 충격압력 발생기의 시스템 설계와 성능평가 (System Design and Performance Test of Hydraulic Intensifier)

  • 압력용기, 유압호스 조립체, 어큐뮤레이터, 유압실린더, 유압밸브, 파이프 등의 제품들의 시험은 일반적으로 ISO와 SAE에서 정의되는 충격압력 조건들로 작동되고 있다. 충격압력 시험 장비는 높은 압력, 정확한 제어 시스템, 장기간 사용할 수 있는 수명을 가지는 것이 요구되며, 언급된 사항들은 유압 시스템에서 보다 높은 압력이 발생되어지는 충격압력 발생기를 제작하는데 필요하다. 충격압력 시험기는 제어는 편리하지만 높은 가격인 서보밸브 제어 시스템이 적용되었다. 제어 시스템의 적용은 시험하는 제품들에 영향을 주는 압력의 파형을 생성한다. 본 연구는 유량과 압력, 압력의 상승속도를 고려한 충격압력 발생시스템 설계 및 제작 과정을 연구하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이것은 또한 결과로써 시스템에서 초고압의 압력을 발생시키는 압력 파형을 얻을 수 있었다.

트레드밀 달리기시 신발 내부의 부하에 관한 연구 (In-shoe Loads during Treadmill Running)

  • To enhance our understanding of the loads on the foot during treadmill running, we have used a pressure-sensitive insole system to determine pressure, rate of loading and impulse distributions on the plantar surface during treadmill running, both in minimally cushioned footwear and in cushioned shoes. This report includes pressure, rate of loading, impulse and contact time data from a study of ten subjects running on a treadmill at 4.0m/s. Among heel-toe runners, the highest peak pressures and highest rates of loading were observed under the centre of the heel and in the medial forefoot. The arch regions were only lightly loaded. Contact time was greater in the forefoot than in the heel. Two-thirds of the impulse recorded during the step was the result of forces applied through the forefoot, mostly in the region of the metatarsal heads. The distribution of loads in the shoe suggests that the load distributing properties of the cushioning system are most important in the centre of the heel, under the metatarsal heads and great toe. Shock attenuation is primarily required under the centre of the heel and to lesser extent under the metatarsal heads. Some energy dissipation may be desirable in the heel region because it causes shock to be absorbed with less force. All the 'propulsive' effort is applied through the forefoot. Therefore, this region should as resilient as possible.

  • Plate impingement of the impulse wave discharged from the open end of a duct is numerically investigated using a CFD method. Harten-Yee Total Variation Diminishing method is used to solve the unsteady, compressible flow governing equations. The Mach number, the flat plate inclination and the distance between the duct exit and inclined flat plate are changed to investigate their effects on the impinging flow field. The impulse wave impingement on the inclined flat plate depends on Mach number $M_s$ and the plate inclination $\psi$. The pressure distributions on the inclined flat plate show that for a small r/D, the peak pressure at the center of an inclined flat plate decreases with an increase in the plate inclination $\psi$ in the range of $\psi$ from $45^{\circ}$ to $60^{\circ}$ but for a large r/D, the peak pressure decreases with an increase in $\psi$ in the range of $\psi$ from $75^{\circ}$ to $90^{\circ}$. It is also found that for all of r/D, the peak pressure at the center of an inclined flat plate has a maximum value in $\psi=90^{\circ}$.

  • This experimental study describes the propagation characteristics and reduction of impulse noises emitted from a high voltage COS(Cut Out Switch) fuse of a transformer. When a high voltage COS fuse becomes a short circuit by the over current. The peak sound Pressure above 150dB(A) is generated. In this study, an impulse noise generator is designed for generating the impulse noises similar to the noise level of COS fuse, which is utilized to test the noise reduction of a reactive silencer. The reactive silencers have been tested for 10 different types with each different porosity, hole diameter and length. From the experimental results, it is found that the reactive silencer has an excellent performance to greatly suppress the impulse noise and that its performance is closely connected with the porosity and hole diameter.

  • An analysis program of specific impulse has been developed for a gas generator cycle rocket engine. The program has been verified by comparing the published performance data of the same cycle engine with RP-1 as fuel. A model for pressure drop of regenerative cooling and film cooling mass flow rate has been suggested to satisfy the necessary cooling condition with Jet-A1 as fuel. The engine mixture ratio is defined by the film cooling mass flow rate and the core mixture ratio. The optimal condition of the combustor pressure and engine mixture ratio has been found for maximum specific impulse.

  • A system analysis program has been developed for a gas generator cycle liquid rocket engine of 30 ton class. Numerical models have been proposed for a combustor, a turbopump, a gas generator and pressure drop through a regenerative cooling system. Numerical algorithm has been validated by comparing with the published data of MC-1. The major source of error is not the numerical algorithm but the imperfect performance models of subsystems. So the precision of the program can be improved by revising the performance models using experimental data. The sea level specific impulse and vacuum specific impulse have been demonstrated for a 30 ton class gas generator engine. The optimal condition of combustor pressure and mixture ratio for specific impulse which is a typical characteristic of a gas generator cycle engine has been illustrated.

  • For the case of high head and critical low flow rate range of micro hydropower resources, it requires very low specific speed turbines which are lower than conventional impulse turbine's specific speed. In order to satisfy the request for very low specific speed turbine with high efficiency, a new positive displacement turbine is developed. The performance characteristics of the new turbine is tested and compared with a conventional impulse turbine, which is used for automatic water faucet system. The purpose of present study is to develop an high performance turbine that can be used to extract micro hydropower potential of a water supply system. The test results show that the positive displacement turbine is much more efficient than the conventional turbine and it can sustain high efficiency under the wide range of operating conditions. The pressure pulsations at the inlet and outlet of the positive displacement turbine can be considerably minimized by using simple pressure damper.

  • The impulse noise of bullet after shooting in small arms has an effect on the hearing ability of human. Although a silencer has been developed for noise reduction in small arms, there is only a few researches about relationships between the sound pressure level and the auditory sense of human. In this study, the quantitative sound pressure levels are revealed by experimental measurements of impulse noise with each silencer type. And the performance evaluation for noise suppression of a silencer in small arms is carried out to reduce a serious loss of the hearing ability of the small arms user. It is concluded that the evaluated results can be utilized for checking sound pressure and data accumulation for new small arms design with silencer.

Life Prediction of High Pressure Hydraulic Hose Assemblies by the Impulse Test

  • Flexible hydraulic hose assembly that consists of hose and joints is used widely on various construction heavy equipments, agricultural machines, motor vehicles, and industrial heavy machines that require flexibility on hydraulic pipelines. It is classified by the maximum usage pressure which is determined by the winding layers of coiling steel wire and the inner diameter of the hoses. In this paper, we designed and performed an accelerated life test for assessing the reliability of a flexible hydraulic hose assembly. In the proposed accelerated life test, typical impulse pressure testing method is applied with the half omega flexing operation to simulate the practical flexing motion of the hose assembly.

  • 우주발사체용 75톤급 액체로켓엔진 연소기의 저압연소시험에서 얻은 데이터를 기본으로 75톤급 연소기의 연소특성속도 및 비추력을 예측하였다. 75톤급 연소기 저압연소시험에서 연소특성속도는 약 1750 m/sec, 비추력은 240 sec로 30톤급 연소기의 저압 성능보다 높은 값을 보여주었다. 30톤급 연소기의 연소시험에서 얻은 저압/고압 관계식을 통해 75톤급 연소기의 설계점에서 연소특성속도는 약 1770 m/sec, 비추력은 약 278 sec로 목표치를 상회하는 값을 예측하였다.
