Use of Sprinkler System for Production Forest Management of Pine Mushroom (Tricholoma matsutake) (살수장치(撒水裝置)를 이용(利用)한 송이산 관리(管理)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • In order to prevent the pine mushrooms, Tricholoma matsutake, from being damaged by the pine needle gall midges, Thecodiplosis japonensis, and thereby, to increase their production and improve their quality, a sprinkler system was installed on the mushroom field. A low-concentration insecticide (deltamethrin 1% EC, x2,000) was sprayed once at insects' most active time every day during the period of insects' adult occurrence and thereafter, the irrigation by ground water spraying was periodically enforced. Such a test was conducted at Yangyang-Gun, Kwangwon-do, Korea for 2 years from 2000 through 2001. The pine needle gall midges generally emerged for about 40 days from late May to early July. 50% emergence of them was about June 6, and peak emergence (more than 80%) was early or mid-June. Gall formation rate was 3.5% on average with this ground insecticide spraying, while 51.3% when not treated. Control effectiveness of this insecticide spraying was 92.3%, which was higher than 82.5% by the conventional injection of insecticide into tree stems. Pine mushrooms emerged for about 35 days from mid-September through earlier October, and around 80% of them did for about 15 days from late September through early October. As a result of the periodic ground water-spraying (30 mm per week) for 2 months (from August to October), the production of mushrooms increased by 74.3% (110% in terms of weight), with their quality improvement. The mushrooms produced from the treated stand by the spraying system were priced 8,670,000 wons per hectare, and thus, the net income deducting the facility and management cost was 4,310,000 wons, about 5% higher than value from the control stand. It was analyzed that this treatment was significantly cost effective when the facilities are used more than 5 years.

Consumption Pattern and Sensory Evaluation of Traditional Doenjang and Commercial Doenjang (재래식 된장과 시판된장의 관능적 특성 및 소비실태)

  • The study results regarding the ingredient differences, sensory characteristics, purchasing type, usage and improvement direction for home-made traditional doenjang and factory produced commercial doenjang are as follows. The L-value indicates that home-made traditional doenjang has a higher value in average than the factory produce done, and the a-value indicates the opposite. Home-made traditional doenjang had higher water content than commercial doenjang ; however the pH values of commercial doenjang and home-made were 5.34 and 5.32 respectively, which was very similar. Factory produced commercial doenjang showed higher protein content than the home-made traditional doenjang. Regarding the correlation between ingredients, there was a significantly negative relationship between the L-value and a-value but a significantly positive relationship between the L-value and b-value. There were no significant relationship with water content, pH and protein content. For the color and taste, which are the sensory characteristics, commercial doenjang showed higher value than the traditional doenjang, but for smell, the values were similar. Regarding grittiness, the factory produced commercial doenjang had bigger particles than the traditional doenjang. Preference was a bit higher in the traditional doenjang. Of the 380 study subjects, most were from 40 to 49 years old (65.5%), and the most family type were nuclear families which was a total of 400 people (69%). Moreover, the most residential type was apartment which was 355people (61.2%), and for the monthly income, more than 2,510,000won was 48.3%. For the educational background, college education was 304 people (52.4%), and high school education was 199 people, 34.3%. In the usage, most of the people eat doenjang more than once a week, and usually their parents make the doenjang. People used both commercial doenjang and home-made traditional doenjang >home-made only >factory produced commercial doenjang only in that order. The reasons for using the home-made traditional doenjang aredelicate taste and flavor>more nutritious> anti-cancer ingredients in that order. The reason they use the factory produced commercial doenjang is because they don't know how to make it at home. The things that needed to be improved in the home-made traditional doenjang are bad smell> entire quality> flavor> color in order, indicating that studies for reducing bad smell are required. The things that needed to be improved in the factory produced commercial doenjang are taste & flavor> entire quality>bad smell> color in that order, indicating that people are more concern about it tasting like home-made than the smell. From the above results, we can see that better functional doenjang should be developed for family health and to increase the consumption of the doenjang, which has good functional psychological activities, also more various types of foods that use doenjang and scientific studies to reduce the home-made doenjang smell should be continuously studied. Moreover, studies on how to make the factory produced commercial doenjang taste more like traditional doenjang should be performed.

  • These days, the quality of indoor air is a very important concept for modern people who have lived in building and is a matter of new thinking. The quality is determined by the temperature and humidity of indoor air. In addition, there is a disadvantage in that energy consumption is severe for indoor air improvement. Therefore, researches on methods to solve such problems using total heat exchange have been actively conducted. So, in this study, aminated poly(styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene) polymers were synthesized by introducing a hydrophilic substituent, ammonium, into main chain and the properties of synthesized polymers were evaluated. The synthesis was carried out through chloromethylation and amination reactions to introduce ammonium into main chain. As a result, the water uptake and the ion exchange capacity of the synthesized polymers increased as the content of the reaction reagent solution increased. It was confirmed that the important data at the total heat exchange membrane, water vapor transmission rate also increased according to temperature, equivalent.

  • The breadmaking characteristics of composite flour containing 30% of buckwheat and 70% of wheat with the addition of vital wheat gluten and water-soluble gums, were studied to establish the optimum formula for the development of buckwheat bread. The addition of vital wheat gluten or/and gums led to successful formation of buckwheat bread, giving loaf volume increase and improvement of sensory quality, especially texture determined by QDA (Quantitative Descriptive Analysis). Among those additives, xanthan gum showed the best volume expansion. Synergistic effects on bread quality were observed when the vital wheat gluten and xanthan gum or guar gum were used together. As buckwheat flour was substituted for wheat flour, gelatinization started early and the maximum viscosity increased measured by an amylography. The addition of gluten and gums caused the initial gelatinization to occur at a higher temperature and maximum viscosity to decrease.

Improvement of Market Quality of Minimally Processed Horticultural Products Using Ozone (오존수를 활용한 부분 가공 원예산물의 청정화 및 유통성 증진)

  • The bacterial density of partially processed horticultural crops in the commercial market was relatively high probably due to improper handing or processing. Between crops, the bacterial density was low in peeled garlic and ranged above $10^8cfu{\cdot}g^{-1}fw$ in other crops. Especially in brake fern, the bacterial density was the highest and non food materials such as packing strips were found. There was difference in the effects of ozone-treated water washing treatment between crops. In root crops such as burdock and lotus root, ozone showed positive effect on preventing discoloration as well as lowing bacterial density resulting in the increase of marketing period. Any positive effect was not found when sliced crops were treated over 5 min at $0.3mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ of dissolved ozone. In lettuce slices, leaf tissues were severely discolored and rapidly soften at $0.3mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ for 2 min dipping. Ozone was highly effective on inhibiting bacterium propagation and off-flavor. This effect was more stronger in Fischer ligulariata than brake fern, probably due to the difference of tissue thickness. Results indicated that ozone-treated water washing had a strong potential to improve the market quality of partially processed horticultural crops including dried wild greens and sliced root crops.

Improvement of Shelf-life and Quality in Fresh-Cut Tomato Slices:

  • Quality of fresh-cut tomato slices was compared during cold storage under various modified atmosphere packaging conditions. Chilling injury of slices in containers sealed with Film A was higher than with Film B; these films had oxygen transmission rates of 87.4 and 60.0 ml $h^{-1}\;m^{-2}\;atm^{-1}$ at $5^{\circ}C\;and\;99\%$ RH, respectively. While slices in containers with an initial atmospheric composition of air, $4\%\;CO_2+1\;or\;20\%\;O_2,\;8\%\;CO_2+1\;or\;20\%\;O_2,\;or\;12\%\;CO_2+20\%\;O_2$ showed fungal growth, slices in containers with $12\%\;CO_2+1\%\;O_2$ did not. Low ethylene in containers enhanced chilling injury. Modified atmosphere packaging provided good quality tomato slices with a shelf-life of 2 weeks or more at $5^{\circ}C$. Experiments were conducted to compare changes in quality of slices of red tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. 'Sunbeam') fruit from plants grown using black polyethylene or hairy vetch mulches under various foliar disease management systems including: no fungicide applications (NF), a disease forecasting model (Tom-Cast), and weekly fungicide applications (WF), during storage at $5^{\circ}C$ under a modified atmosphere. Slices were analyzed for firmness, soluble solids content (SSC), titratable acidity (TA), pH, electrolyte leakage, fungi, yeasts, and chilling injury. With both NF and Tom-Cast fungicide treatments, slices from tomato fruit grown with hairy vetch (Vicia villosa Roth) mulch were firmer than those from tomato fruit grown with black polyethylene mulch after 12 days storage. Ethylene production of slices from fruit grown using hairy vetch mulch under Tom-Cast was about 1.5- and 5-fold higher than that of slices from WF and NF fungicide treatments after 12 days, respectively. The percentage of water-soaked areas (chilling injury) for slices from tomato fruit grown using black polyethylene mulch under NF was over 7-fold that of slices from tomato fruit grown using hairy vetch under Tom-Cast. When stored at $20^{\circ}C$, slices from light-red tomato fruit grown with black polyethylene or hairy vetch mulches both showed a rapid increase in electrolyte leakage beginning 6 hours after slicing. However, slices from tomato fruit grown using the hairy vetch mulch tended to have lower electrolyte leakage than those grown with black polyethylene mulch. These results suggest that tomato fruit from plants grown using hairy vetch mulch may be more suitable for fresh-cut slices than those grown using black polyethylene mulch. Also, use of the disease forecasting model Tom-Cast, which can result in lower fungicide application than is currently used commercially, resulted in high quality fruit for fresh-cut processing. Experiments were conducted to determine if ethylene influences chilling injury, as measured by percentage of slices exhibiting water-soaked areas in fresh-cut tomato slices of 'Mountain Pride' and 'Sunbeam' tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.). Ethylene concentration in containers without ventilation significantly increased during storage at $5^{\circ}C$, whereas little or no accumulation of ethylene occurred in containers with one or six perforations. Chilling injury was greatest for slices in containers with six perforations, compared to slices in containers with one perforation, and was over 13-fold greater than that of slices in control containers with no perforations. An experiment was also performed to investigate the effectiveness of including an ethylene absorbent pad in containers on subsequent ethylene accumulation and chilling injury. While ethylene in the no-pad controls increased continually during storage of both 'Mountain Pride' and 'Sunbeam' tomatoes at $5^{\circ}C$ under modified atmosphere conditions, no increase in accumulation of ethylene was observed in containers containing ethylene absorbent pads throughout storage. The ethylene absorbent pad treatment resulted in a significantly higher percentage of chilling injury compared with the no-pad control. In studies aimed at inhibiting ethylene production using AVG during storage of slices, the concentration of ethylene in control containers (no AVG) remained at elevated levels throughout storage, compared to containers with slices treated with AVG. Chilling injury in slices treated with AVG was 5-fold greater than that of controls. Further, we tested the effect of ethylene pretreatment of slices on subsequent slice shelf-life and quality. In slices treated with ethylene (0, 0.1, 1, or $10\;{mu}L\;L^{-1}$) immediately after slicing, ethylene production in non-treated controls was greater than that of all other ethylene pre-treatments. However, pretreatment of slices 3 days after slicing resulted in a different pattern of ethylene production during storage. Ihe rate of ethylene production by slices treated with 1 L $L^{-1}$ ethylene 3 days after slicing was greater during storage than any of the other ethylene treatments. With slices pre-treated with ethylene, both immediately and 3 days after slicing, the rate of ethylene production tended to show an negative correlation with chilling injury.   • 우리나라의 홍수조절용댐은 총 5개소로 영산강유역에 두 개소와 한강유역에 세 개소가 있다. 한강유역에 있는 세 개소의 홍수조절지용댐은 한강상류의 북한지역에서 발생하는 집중호우에 대비하기 위한 댐으로, 임진강 하류지역의 수해방지를 위한 한탄강댐과 군남홍수조절지(군남댐)가 있으며 북한강 하류와 수도권의 홍수예방을 위한 평화의 댐이 있다. 영산강유역에 있는 두 개소의 홍수조절지는 2006년에 수립한 영산강치수종합대책에서 계획이 수립된 시설로 2011년 4대강 사업의 일환으로 설치하여 K-water에서 운영 중에 있다. 4대강 사업 이전의 영산강유역은 홍수량을 조절할 수 있는 홍수조절용량이 전무했던 실정으로 하도에서 홍수량의 전량을 수용해야했던 홍수에 매우 취약한 하천이었다. 그러나 4대강 사업을 통하여 영산강유역의 4대호를 비롯한 농업용댐의 숭상을 통한 홍수조절용량의 확보와 더불어 나주천변저류지와 담양홍수조절지, 화순홍수조절지를 설치하여 홍수로부터 상대적으로 안전한 하천으로 변모할 수 있었다. 그러나 영산강유역의 다른 하나의 과제는 여전히 남아있다. 우리나라의 하천 중에서 가장 수질이 악화되어 있는 하천이라는 불명예이다. 홍수조절지는 1년 중 3개월에 해당하는 홍수기에 사용할 수 있는 시설로 1년 중 9개월에 해당하는 비홍수기에는 홍수조절지의 효율적인 공간활용을 위하여 주민지원사업 등 다각도로 고민하여 사용하고 있으나 하천 외적인 문제를 수용하는 범주에 머무르고 있다. 하천이 가지고 있는 문제점을 다소라도 해소할 수 있는 목적으로 사용될 수 있다면 하천 외적인 문제를 수용하는 것 보다 하천 내적인 문제를 해소하는 목적으로 사용하는 것이 보다 바람직할 것으로 판단된다. 이를 위하여 영산강의 내적인 가장 큰 문제점은 수질악화로 인한 수질개선이라 할 수 있다. 따라서 홍수기로 한정되어 사용하는 홍수조절지를 해당하천의 내적인 문제를 다소라도 해소할 수 있는 공간으로 비홍수기에 기여할 수만 있다면 비홍수기의 활용목적을 확대하여 다목적조절지로의 변모가 필요하다고 판단한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 영산강유역에 있는 담양홍수조절지와 화순홍수조절지의 두 개소 홍수조절지를 활용하여 영산강 수질개선에 기여할 수 있는 정도를 파악하였다. 비홍수기에 유출량의 일부를 조절지에 담수해 두었다가 수질개선 목적의 희석수로 방류하는 시나리오를 마련하여 시나리오별로 영산강의 수질개선효과를 분석하여 제시하였다. 수질개선효과를 분석하기 위하여 EFDC모델을 구축하고 모델 수행을 위한 시나리오는 조절지의 담수율과 방류량 그리고 조절지의 관리수질조건 등을 이용하여 작성하고 수질예측 결과에 따라 TOC, CHl-a, T-P 수질항목을 대상으로 수질개선효과를 분석하여 제시하였다.

Calculation of Soil Moisture and Evapotranspiration of KLDAS applying Ground-Observed Meteorological Data (지상관측 기상자료를 적용한 KLDAS(Korea Land Data Assimilation System)의 토양수분·증발산량 산출)

  • Thisstudy demonstratessoil moisture and evapotranspiration performance using Korea Land Data Assimilation System (KLDAS) under Korea Land Information System (KLIS). Spin-up was repeated 8 times in 2018. In addition, low-resolution and high-resolution meteorological data were generated using meteorological data observed by Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), Rural Development Administration (RDA), Korea Rural Community Corporation (KRC), Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co.,Ltd. (KHNP), Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water), and Ministry of Environment (ME), and applied to KLDAS. And, to confirm the degree of accuracy improvement of Korea Low spatial resolution (hereafter, K-Low; 0.125°) and Korea High spatial resolution (hereafter, K-High; 0.01°), soil moisture and evapotranspiration to which Modern-Era Retrospective analysis for Research and Applications, version 2 (MERRA-2) and ASOS-Spatial (ASOS-S) used in the previous study were applied were evaluated together. As a result, optimization of the initial boundary condition requires 2 time (58 point), 3 time (6 point), and 6 time (3 point) spin-up for soil moisture. In the case of evapotranspiration, 1 time (58 point) and 2 time (58 point) spin-ups are required. In the case of soil moisture to which MERRA-2, ASOS-S, K-Low, and K-High were applied, the mean of R2 were 0.615, 0.601, 0.594, and 0.664, respectively, and in the case of evapotranspiration, the mean of R2 were 0.531, 0.495, 0.656, and 0.677, respectively, indicating the accuracy of K-High was rated as the highest. The accuracy of KLDAS can be improved by securing a large number of ground observation data through the results of this study and generating high-resolution grid-type meteorological data. However, if the meteorological condition at each point is not sufficiently taken into account when converting the point data into a grid, the accuracy is rather lowered. For a further study, it is expected that higher quality data can be produced by generating and applying grid-type meteorological data using the parameter setting of IDW or other interpolation techniques.

Study on the Effectiveness of Care Giver Education Program on the Home Care of Senile Dementia Patients (노인성 치매환자 가족간호 향상을 위한 교육프로그램 효과에 관한 연구)

  • This study investigated the effects of education program conducted through individual home visit by CHPs, which was developed ,by the operational re-search technique for families of dementia patients. (Yeo Shin Hong et at,1994) The study was conducted in the form of a primary experimental design with 43 people as subjects, including dementia patients and family member in several Myon areas of Chungcheong Namdo between June 10 and August 20, 1994. The data was collected by questionnaires through the home visit by the CHPs. The results of study are as follows. 1. There is no difference in the quality of life between before and after the education program. 2. Role stress 'before the education program' was significantly different than 'after the education program'. 3. There was no difference in the feeling of burden between before and after the education program. 4. There was a significant difference in the abnormal behaviors of patients between before and after the education program. 5. The knowledge of dementia by the patient's family increased significantly after the education program, compared to that of 'before the education program'. 6. There was a significant difference in the attitude of family members toward the education program on dementia between before and after the education program. 7. The results of analysis on the coefficient relationship of various variables showed that the age of patients and family members have a significant correlation with role stress(p=.01). 8. In the subjective evaluation of family members on changes in actual nursing actions and the improvement of knowledge and technique in terms of daily living, (including abnormal behavior of patients, adjustment of environment for patients, activity programs for patients, communication technique with patients, ensuring the safety of patients, clothing, meals and elimination, 60-65% of family members responded that their knowledge had increased. As for improvement in techniques for each item, the technique for communication with patients showed the greatest improvement while the action program method for patients showed the least change. As for the nursing service provided to patients, most respondents showed a positive change. The specific items for which more than 80% respondents answered positively were as follows : recognizing the demand of patients, getting patients to do simple house works, talking softly and gently, removing dangerous things, preparing comfortable clothes that are easy to put on and take off, and limiting water consumption at night. As a result of study, the following suggestions can be made. The purpose of the study was to examine the effect of an education program developed and applied for dementia patients and family members in the community. This needs to be compared with a similar study conducted in the urban setting. In addition, a community service program (ex : nursing hem and shelter) including the application of the education program should be developed and the study done to investigate its effect.

  • 수위표의 영점에서 수면까지의 높이로 정의되는 해발수위는 유량 및 유사량 등과 같은 관련 수문자료를 생산하는데 기본이 되는 자료이며, 하천 및 수공구조물의 설계 등에 기초자료로 이용될 뿐만 아니라 수자원의 효율적인 관리 및 수문순환 해석을 위한 가장 중요한 기초자료로서 국가 차원의 올바른 수자원 계획과 정책을 수립하는데 널리 활용된다. 이와 같이 해발수위자료의 이용 분야가 다양하고 그 자체로서도 중요한 의미를 가지는 점을 고려할 때 무엇보다도 중요한 것은 자료의 품질이 확보되어야 하는 것이다. 그러나 영점표고검정수준점 및 기준 수위표의 설치 이후 오랜 시간이 경과됨에 따라 노후화와 수위관측소 주변의 환경변화가 발생하게 되어 자료의 정확도가 매우 낮아지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 해발수위 자료의 품질향상을 위해 수위관측소의 영점표고검정수준점 및 수위표 영점표고에 대하여 수준측량 및 RTK(Real Time Kinematic) GPS(Global Positioning System) 측량을 병행하여 수행하였으며, 조사측량된 값을 활용하여 기존에 측량된 영점표고검정수준점 및 수위표 영점표고에 대한 검토를 수행하였다. 금강 및 삽교천 수계에 위치한 50개 수위관측소 대하여 기존 측량값과 비교 검토한 결과 영점표고검정수준점은 0.10m 이하(54.0%), 0.10m 초과 ~ 0.50m 이하(26.0%), 0.50m 초과 ~ 1.00m 이하(6.0%), 1.00m초과 ~ 1.50m 이하(2.0%), 1.50m 초과 ~ 2.00m 이하(2.0%), 2.00m 초과 ~ 3.00m 이하(4.0%), 3.00m 초과(6.0%)의 값을 나타냈으며, 수위표 영점표고는 0.10m 이하(50.0%), 0.10m 초과 ~ 0.50m 이하(32.0%), 0.50m 초과 ~ 1.00m 이하(10.0%), 1.00m초과 ~ 1.50m 이하(2.0%), 1.50m 초과 ~ 2.00m 이하(2.0%), 2.00m 초과 ~ 3.00m 이하(2.0%), 3.00m 초과(2.0%)의 값을 가졌다. 이와 같이 기존과 금회 측량자료를 비교 검토한 결과 대부분이 안정적으로 유지되고 있으나 일부 수위관측소에서 변동량이 크게 발생한 원인은 영점표고검정수준점의 노후화, 기준 수위표의 교체 및 위치 변동, 인위적인 하천공사 등으로 인하여 발생한 것으로 판단된다.
