부여 응평리 출토 백제 사비기 인골 보존처리 및 과학적 분석 (Conservation and Scientific Analysis of Human Bone Excavated in Sabi Period of Baekje from Eungpyeong-ri, Buyeo)

  • 부여 응평리 석실묘는 두 개체를 합장한 형태로 피장자 간의 상관관계 및 석실묘의 성격에 대해 조사하였다. 부여 응평리 석실묘는 지리적 입지·공반유물·출토인골을 통해 백제 사비기에 위계가 있는 도성민 혹은 지방관료로 추정할수 있었다. 본 연구는 인골 특성에 적합한 수습 및 보존처리와 함께 과학적 분석을 수행한 결과이다. 현장에서 출토되는 인골 수습에서 가장 중요한 사항은 과학적 분석용 시료를 제외한 잔존 뼈들에 대한 강화제의 종류와 농도이다. 부여 응평리 인골의 경우 paraloid B-72를 사용하였으며 현장에서 강화 처리 시 사용했던 약품을 동일하게 사용하여 표면의 이물질 제거·강화·접합 등 최소한의 보존처리를 수행하였다. 토양의 영향으로 인골의 외부 형태 식별이 어려운 경우 X-ray와 CT촬영 자료를 활용하였다. 안정동위원소와 DNA분석을 수행하기 앞서 근적외선 분석을 진행하였으며 그 결과를 토대로 시료 채취 부위를 선정하였다. 인골의 콜라겐을 이용하는 탄소·질소 안정동위원소 분석의 경우 콜라겐의 수율이 3.8~6.1%로 나타났으며 안정동위원소비는 EBW, EBE 개체 각각 δ13C -18.3‰±0.1‰, -19.0‰±0.1‰이고, δ15N 10.7‰±0.5‰, 10.6‰±0.1‰로 확인되었다. 두 개체는 C3 식물을 위주로 약간의 잡곡류를 함께 섭취했고, 단백질은 육상 동물로부터 공급되었을 것으로 판단된다. 또한 두 개체의 데이터 편차가 근소하여 유사한 식이를 하였을 것으로 추정된다. DNA 분석의 경우 증폭이 불가능하여 결과를 얻기 어려웠으며 이는 시료의 보존상태 등을 연관 지어 보았을 때 DNA가 극미량으로 잔존하여 증폭에 어려움이 있었을 것으로 생각된다. 부여 응평리 유적 석실묘에서 출토된 인골의 경우 안정동위원소분석 및 DNA 분석과 근적외선 분석의 연관성은 도출하기 어려웠으며 뼈의 보존상태 평가를 위한 추가 분석이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

웨어러블 아트-카멜레온 드레스 (Wearable Art-Chameleon Dress)

  • 카멜레온은 미끈한 몸통과 화려한 색 띠들을 가진 작은 도마뱀을 말하는데 빛, 온도, 기분에 따라 색이 변화하는 것이 특징이다. 또한, 변덕스러운 사람, 요염하고 매혹적인 사람, 속물적이면서도 상황에 재빨리 대처하는 사람 등을 일컬어 카멜레온이라고 하기도 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 상황에 따라 색이 변하는 카멜레온 이미지를 요염한 변덕장이들의 섹시한 스타일로 비유해서 Wearable Art에 실루엣, 색, 텍스처 개발 기술을 접목하여 표현하고자 한 것이다. 연구방법은 카멜레온의 사실적, 개념적 특징들을 Wearable Art 작품으로 표현해 나가는 단계에서 특히, 옷감 표면에 다양한 제작 기술들을 실험해 보는 과정으로 진행되었다. 작품 이미지 컨셉은 'sensuality', 'tempting', 'splendid', 'brilliant', 'fascinating' 등으로 표현했고, 연구자의 미래지향적 기호와 움직임을 통한 편하고(comfortable) 즐거울 수 있는(enjoyable)개념 역시 포함되도록 하면서 작품 완성도를 높였다. 디자인 및 제작 포인트는 실제 카멜레온의 전체 라인, 색, 표피 질감 등 그 특징들을 분석하여 본 작품의 형태, 색, 텍스처 등을 통해 상징적으로 표현하도록 하였고, 동시에 요염한 변덕장이 카멜레온의 이미지가 암시적으로 나타날 수 있도록 하였다. 작품 실루엣은 바디컨셔스 라인(body-conscious line)이다. 이것은 카멜레온의 날씬하고 미끈한 몸체를 이미지화 한 것이며 동시에, 속세적이면서도 미래적인 이미지가 암시적으로 표현되도록 한 것이다. 카멜레온 등뼈가 드러난 것을 드레스 등이 노출되도록 하여 표현하였는데 이것은 동시에 관능적이고 요염한 카멜레온 이미지를 나타내는 것이다. 카멜레온의 유선형 머리부분 표현은 완만한 삼각형 모양의 후드패턴을 통해, 카멜레온의 길게 말린 꼬리 표현은 불규칙적인 플레어의 햄 라인으로 처리하여 상징적으로 표현하였다. 카멜레온 색들은 선명한 비비드 톤이면서 동시에 빛 또는 기분에 따라 색이 변화하는 것이 특징인데, 작품 제작 과정에서도 빛과 각도에 따라 드레스 색이 조금씩 다르게 보이는 효과를 가장 중요하게 연구하였다. 검정색 쉬폰 위에 퓨셔(fuchsia)색 작은 벨벳 물방울 무늬가 박힌 소재를 주 소재로 하여 표면에 입체적인 텍스처를 줌으로서 빛의 각도에 따라 두가지 색이 섞여져서 전체적으로 색이 다르게 보이는 착시 결과를 가져왔다. 허리에서의 빨강색과 파란색 계열의 다양한 스톤들은 실제 카멜레온 스킨 이미지와 더불어 돌출된 입체감과 그라데이션 효과로 인해 움직임에 따라 색이 다르게 보이는 결과를 가져왔다. 50% 쉬폰/50% 폴리에스테르에 벨벳 다트 무늬가 들어가 있는 원단을 사용하여 옷감 표면에 탄성실을 이용한 스모킹 주름효과를 주는 기술을 접목시켜 flexible한 스트레치성 옷감으로 재탄생시킴과 동시에 소재 표면에 오돌토돌한 텍스처가 생기게 하였다. 이것은 카멜레온의 표피와 흡사하면서 동시에 몸에 밀착되는 결과를 가져와 섹시하면서도 편안한 작품 이미지 표현에도 적절한 역할을 한다. 스톤장식은 아크릴릭카보숑(acrylic cabochons)과 잼스톤(gemstones)들을 섞어서 사용했는데 카멜레온 등 표피 질감을 상징함과 동시에 색이 다르게 보이는 효과를 나타낸다는 점에서 본 작품의 포인트이다. 드레스 제작은 주로 바이어스 결을 이용한 드레이핑 기법을 이용하였는데, 후드가 앞 몸판과 연결되어 있고 불규칙적인 사각형들이 앞에서 뒤로 옆 솔기 없이 연결되어 있다. 옷은 살아 움직이는 사람이 입어서 가장 편하고 즐거우면 옷의 완성도가 가장 높다고 할 수 있다. 카멜레온 드레스 역시 움직이는 신체와 함께 색이 다르게 보이는 기법과 효과를 연구하는 과정에서 편하고 즐거운 Wearable Art를 완성할 수 있었다. 바로 이점이 입는 예술 즉, 입고 즐길 수 있는 옷에 예술미를 가미한 Wearable Art의 진미가 아닐까 생각한다.

수신증을 진단 받은 소아 환자의 DMSA 신장 검사에서 정확한 관심영역 설정에 대한 고찰 (The Consideration of the Region of Interest on $^{99m}Tc$-DMSA Renal Scan in Pediatric Hydronephrosis Patients)

  • 수신증 진단을 받은 소아 환자 $^{99m}Tc$-DMSA 신장 검사에서 영상 획득 후 좌-우측 신장의 섭취 비율을 분석하기 위해 관심영역을 설정하는데, 장비의 자동 관심영역 설정 시 수신증으로 확장되어 있는 신우 부위까지 관심영역에 포함되어 정확한 좌-우 신장의 섭취율이라 할 수 없기에 본 연구는 신장 모형과 확장된 신우의 모형을 이용한 실험을 통해 수신증으로 인해 확장된 신우를 포함한 관심영역과 포함하지 않은 관심영역을 비교하여 보다 개선된 관심영역의 설정 방법을 제시 하고자 한다. 또한, 확장된 신우에 섭취된 방사성 의약품이 신장 피질 세포에서의 섭취인지 아니면 요관의 막힘으로 인한 잔류 소변 인지를 알아 보기 위해 판독의의 도움을 받아 알아 보기로 한다. 두 개의 신장 모형에 같은 양의 물을 채우고 $^{99m}TcO_4$ 111 MBq를 각각 넣어 섞었다. 확장된 신우를 표현하기 위해 5개의 고무 풍선에 물 용량을 각각 10 mL로 채운 후 $^{99m}TcO_4$를 각각 18.5, 37, 55.5, 74, 92.5 MBq를 각각 섞어 준비 하였다. 또한, 고무 풍선에 $^{99m}TcO_4$를 37 MBq으로 고정하고 물 용량을 각각 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 mL를 섞어 준비하였다. 좌측 신장은 모양 그대로 유지하고 우측 신장 모형에 이 고무 풍선을 붙여 수신증의 신장과 비슷한 모형을 만든 후 각각 200만 계수를 수집하였다. 수집된 영상을 확장된 신우를 포함한 관심영역과 포함하지 않은 관심영역을 그려서 좌-우 신장의 섭취비율을 비교 하였고, 재현성을 위해 한 영상당 5회씩 관심 영역을 설정하였다. 환자의 경우 $^{99m}Tc$-DMSA를 1.5~1.9 MBq/kg 주사하고, 3~4시간 후에 검사하였고, 숙련된 3명의 방사선사가 각각 1회씩 관심 영역을 설정하여 비교 평가 하였다. 두 자료 간의 통계적 유의성을 알아보기 위해 SPSS (ver. 17) Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test 사용하였다. 신장 모형 실험 결과로 확장된 신우를 포함하여 관심영역을 설정한 것과 포함하지 않고 관심영역을 설정한 두 집단간에 수집계수, 주변 계수, 섭취율을 비교해 본 결과 수집계수와 섭취율의 변화된 결과를 얻을 수 있었고, 환자 검사 영상에서 또한 섭취율의 변화된 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 또한, 확장된 신우에 섭취된 방사성 의약품은 확장된 신우에 의해 요관으로 내려가지 못한 잔류 된 소변이라는 것이 확인되었다. 위 결과에서 보여 주듯이 신장의 좌-우측 섭취율 도출 시에 수신증으로 인해 신우가 확장된 신장에서 신우를 포함하여 관심영역을 설정했을 때의 섭취율이 포함하지 않았을 때의 섭취율에 비해 과섭취율을 보여 주고 있다. 검사자의 작업 편의성과 결과의 신속성을 위해 자동 관심영역으로 설정하여 결과를 도출해 내고 있지만, 이러한 수신증 환자의 경우에는 확장된 신우에 방사성의약품이 섭취가 되어있는 것은 잔류된 소변이므로 관심영역 설정 시에 확장된 신우 부분을 제외하고 수동으로 관심영역을 설정해야 정확한 좌-우측 신장의 섭취율을 도출할 수 있을 것이라 사료된다.

제주 팽림월대(彭林月臺)의 경관특성 및 관리방안 (Characristics and Management Plans of Myeongwoldae and Myeongwol Village Groves Located in, Jeju)

  • 본 연구는 제주시 한림읍 소재 명월대와 명월숲의 생태문화경관적 특성 파악과 가치 발굴을 목적으로 시도되었다. 이를 위해 이곳의 장소성을 밝히고 명월대와 명월숲의 경관특성을 조명하는 한편 지속가능한 활용과 보존을 위한 관리방안을 제시하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 명월성과 명월포구는 예로부터 군사요새이자, 명월 수류촌은 서부 제주지역 행정의 중심지인 한림읍 명월지역의 위상을 보여줄 뿐 아니라 명월지역에 존재했던 월계정사와 우학당은 교육문화의 본산으로, 교육 중심지 명월리의 장소성을 대변한다. 명월대는 조선시대 선비들이 시와 풍월을 즐기고, 장기와 바둑을 두던 유풍이 남아있는 음풍농월의 현장이자 제주도의 대표적인 유교 문화경관이다. 현재의 명월대 유구는 일제강점기인 1931년 홍종시(洪鍾時)를 중심으로 한 명월청년회 주도로 이루어진 정비사업의 결과이다. 사각형-팔각형-원형 등 3단으로 구성된 명월대의 석축 구성은 유교사상의 천인합일사상을 바탕으로, 중앙의 팔각은 천원지방(天圓地方)의 의미를 부여한 것으로 보인다. 한편 명월대교와 명월교는 모두 초기에는 홍예교로 석축된 것으로 추정되며 명월교는 제주에 남아있는 유일한 홍예교로 근대문화유산적 가치가 있다. 명월숲의 식물상은 총 97분류군(taxa)이 확인되었으며, '식물구계학적 특정식물종의 분류군 및 등급기준'에 준하면 IV등급에는 가는쇠고사리, III등급에 호랑가시나무, 후추등, 까마귀쪽나무, 멀구슬나무, 산유자나무, 노랑하늘타리, 아욱메풀, 아왜나무 등 8분류군으로 나타났다. 반면에 귀화식물은 제주도에만 이입된 솔잎미나리를 비롯하여 14분류군이 확인되었다. 명월숲에는 팽나무 41주와 푸조나무 30주, 산유자나무 2주, 소나무, 동백나무, 멀구슬나무, 호랑가시나무 각각 1주 등 도합 77그루의 수목이 군락을 이루고 있다. 조사된 자료를 근거로 명월대와 명월숲의 보존관리방안은 다음과 같다. 명월대와 명월교 그리고 명월숲을 하나의 통합 영역으로 한 보존관리가 필수적이다. 명월교는 제주도내에서는 찾아보기 어려운 홍예교로 수준 높은 석공예물로 장기적인 보존방안이 마련되어야 할 것이다. 한편 교량노후화로 인해 사고위험에 노출되고, 안전진단이 요구되는 명월대교는 정밀안전진단 결과에 따른 대책이 요구된다. 재시공시 초건 시의 모습인 2수문의 완벽한 홍예교로 건립하여 명월대와 함께 향후 대표적 지역 명소로 보존 및 활용해야 할 것을 건의한다. 또한 조사결과에 근거한 종조성으로 볼 때 현재 제주특별자치도 기념물 제19호 '명월 팽나무군락'의 명칭은 '명월 팽나무-푸조나무군락'으로 재고되어야 할 것이다. 그리고 팽나무와 푸조나무 구분 없이 이루어진 일련번호 체계는 개선되어야 하며 노거수목 및 특정식물종이나 귀화종에 대해서는 생육상태에 대한 주기적인 모니터링이 요구된다.

  • The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70$\pm$1.32mmHg/min)compared to CF dialyzers(4.32$\pm$0.55mmHg/min)(p<0.05). However, there was no observable difference in the UFR between the two dialyzers. Neither APD nor UFR showed any significant increase with an increasing number of reuses for up to more than 20reuses. A substantial number of failures observed in APD(larger than 20mmHe/min)on the reused dialyzers(2 out of 40 CP and S out 26 C-DAK) were attributed to the Possible damage on the fibers. The CF 15-11 HFDs which failed APD test did not show changes in the UFR compared to normal dialyzers indicating that APD is a more sensitive test than UFR test to evaluate the integrity of the fibers. 30527 T00401030527 ^x For quantitative measurement of reflected light from a clinical diagnostic strip, a prototype old reflectance photometer was designed. The strip loader and cassette were made to obtain more accurate reflectance parameters. The strip was illuminated at 45˚c through optical fiber and the intensity of reflected light was determined at rectanguLat angle using a photodiode. The kubelka-munk coefficient and reflection optical density were determined ar four different wavelengths(500, 550, 570 and 610nm) for blood glucose strip. For higher concentration than 300mg/41 about glucose, a saturation state of abforbance was observed at 500, 550 and 570nm. The correlation between glucose concentration and parameters was the best at 610nm. 30535 T00401030535 ^x Radiation-induced fibrosarcoma tumors were grown on the flanks of C3H mice. The mice were divided into two groups. One group was injected with Photofrin II, intravenously (2.5mg/kg body weight). The other group received no Photofrin II. Mice from both groups were irradialed for approximately 15 minutes at 100, 300, or 500 mW/cm2 with the argon (488nm/514.5 nm), dye(628nm) and gold vapor (pulsed 628 nm) laser light. A photosensitizer behaved as an added absorber. Under our experimental conditions, the presence of Photolfrin II increased surface temperature by at least 40% and the temperature rise due to 300 mW/cm2 irradiation exceeded values for hyperthermia. Light and temperature distributions with depth were estimated by a computer model. The model demonstrated the influence of wavelength on the thermal process and proved to be a valuable tool to investigate internal temperature rise. 30536 T00401030536 ^x We investigated the structural geometry of thirty-eight Korean femurs. The purpose of this study is to identify major geometrical differences between Korean femurs 3nd others that we believe belong to Caucasians so that we would be able to get insights into the femoral component design that fits Asians including Koreans. We utilized computerized tomography (CT) images of femurs extracted from cadavers. The CT images were transformed into bitmap data by using a film scanner, and then analyzed by using a commercially available software called Image v.1.0 and a Macintosh IIci computer.The resulting data were compared with already published data. The major results show that the geometry of the Korean femurs is significantly different from that of Caucasians: (1) the anteversion angle and the canal flare index are greater by the amount of approximately 8˚ and 0.5, respectively, (2) the shape of the isthmus cross section is more round, and (3) the distance between the teaser trochanter and the proximal border of the isthmus is shelter by about 15 mm. The results suggested that the femoral component suitable for Asians should be different from the currently-used components designed and manufactured mostly by European or American companies. 30537 T00401030537 ^x It is well known that nonlinear propagation characteristics of the wave in the tissue may give very useful information for the medical diagnoisis. In this paper, a new method to detect nonlinear propagation characteristics of the internal vibration in the tissue for the low frequency mechanical vibration by using bispectral analysis is proposed. In the method, low frequency vibration of f0( = 100Hz) is applied on the surface of the object, and the waveform of the internal vibration x (t) is measured from Doppler frequency modulation of silmultaneously transmitted probing ultrasonic waves. Then, the bispectra of the signal x (t) at the frequencies (f0, f0) and (f0, 2f0) are calculated to estimate the nonlinear propagation characteristics as their magnitude ratio, w here since bispectrum is free from the gaussian additive noise we can get the value with high S/N. Basic experimental system is constructed by using 3.0 MHz probing ultrasonic waves and the several experiments are carried out for some phantoms. Results show the superiority of the proposed method to the conventional method using power spectrum and also its usefulness for the tissue characterization. 30541 T00401030541 ^x This paper describes the implementation of a computerized radial pulse diagnosis by aids of a clinical expert. On this base, we composed of the radial pulse diagnosis system in korean traditional medicine. The system composed of a radial pulse wave detection system and a radial pulse diagnosis system. With a detection system, we detected Inyoung and Cheongu radial pulse wave and processed it. Then, we have got the characteristic parameters of radial pulse wave and also quantified that according to the method of Inyoung-Cheongu Comparison Radial Pulse Diagnosis. To synthesize microspheres for biomedical application, "two stage shot growth method" was developed. The uniformity ratio of synthesized microspheres was always smaller than 1.05. And the surface charge density (or the number of ionizable functional groups) of the microspheres synthesized by "two stage shot growth method" was 6~13 times higher than that of the microspheres synthesized by conventional seeded batch copolymerization. As a previous step for biomedical application, adsorption experiments of bovine albumin on microspheres were carried out under various conditions. The maximum adsorbed amount was obtained in the neighborhood of pH 4.5. Isoelectric point of bovine albumin is pH 5.0, so experimental result shows that it shifted to acid area. Trans-formation from temporal summation to two-dimensional mappings is formed by 4 nearest point inter-polaton method. Methods of representation of BEAM are two. One is dot density method which classify brain electrical potential 9 levels by dot density of gray levels and the other is colour method which classify brain electrical 12 levels by red-green colours. In this BEAM, instantaneous change and average energy distribution over any arbitrary time interval of brain electrical activity could be observed and analyzed easily.   • The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70${\pm}$1.32mmHg/min)compared to CF dialyzers(4.32${\pm}$0.55mmHg/min)(p<0.05). However, there was no observable difference in the UFR between the two dialyzers. Neither APD nor UFR showed any significant increase with an increasing number of reuses for up to more than 20reuses. A substantial number of failures observed in APD(larger than 20mmHe/min)on the reused dialyzers(2 out of 40 CP and S out 26 C-DAK) were attributed to the Possible damage on the fibers. The CT images were transformed into bitmap data by using a film scanner, and then analyzed by using a commercially available software called Image v.1.0 and a Macintosh IIci computer.The resulting data were compared with already published data. The major results show that the geometry of the Korean femurs is significantly different from that of Caucasians: (1) the anteversion angle and the canal flare index are greater by the amount of approximately 8˚ and 0.5, respectively, (2) the shape of the isthmus cross section is more round, and (3) the distance between the teaser trochanter and the proximal border of the isthmus is shelter by about 15 mm. Then, the bispectra of the signal x (t) at the frequencies (f0, f0) and (f0, 2f0) are calculated to estimate the nonlinear propagation characteristics as their magnitude ratio, w here since bispectrum is free from the gaussian additive noise we can get the value with high S/N. Stimulus patterns of our stimulator were designed to simulate electromyographic activity monitored during locomotion of normal subjects. Muscle types of the lower extremity were classified according to their mechanical property of contraction, which are slow muscle (msoleus m.) and fast muscle (medial gastrocneminus m., rectus femoris m., vastus lateralis m.). Optimal parameters of electrical stimulation for slow muscles were 20 Hz, 0.2 ms square pulse. For fast muscle, 40 Hz, 0.3 ms square pulse was optimal to produce repeated contraction. Higher stimulus intensity was required when synergistic muscles were stimulated simultaneously than when they were stimulated individually. Electrical stimulation for each muscle was designed to generate bipedal locomotion, so that individual muscles alternate contraction and relaxation to simulate stance and swing phases.
