Characteristic Flavors of Korean Soybean Paste

  • We confirmed the character impact compounds of the flavors of the soybean paste manufactured with the traditional and improved Meju, respectively, by using the following methods: gas chromatography (GC), sniffing tests and GC-mass. The soybean paste made with the traditional Meju had 12 compound groups that smelled like the soybean paste flavor, whereas the soybean paste made with the improved Meju had 7 compound groups of soybean paste flavor smell. We were easily able to determine that there is a difference of soybean paste flavor compounds between the soybean pastes made with either the traditional or the improved Mejus because the two soybean paste flavors are very different from each other.

Structural reliability analysis using response surface method with improved genetic algorithm

  • For the conventional computational methods for structural reliability analysis, the common limitations are long computational time, large number of iteration and low accuracy. Thus, a new novel method for structural reliability analysis has been proposed in this paper based on response surface method incorporated with an improved genetic algorithm. The genetic algorithm is first improved from the conventional genetic algorithm. Then, it is used to produce the response surface and the structural reliability is finally computed using the proposed method. The proposed method can be used to compute structural reliability easily whether the limit state function is explicit or implicit. It has been verified by two practical engineering cases that the algorithm is simple, robust, high accuracy and fast computation.

머드플랩이 개선된 KTX차량의 궤도구간별 실내소음 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Interior Noise Characteristics of KTX with Improved Mud Flap for Various Track Conditions)

  • There has been an increasing demand for the mitigation of noise and vibration caused by KTX. One of considered noise reduction methods which is to enlarge mud-flap in gangway was selected and the replacement of all KTX mud-flaps by improved mud-flaps was completed recently. To investigate the noise characteristics of KTX with improved mud-flap, the measurement was performed. Based on the measurement results, the assessment of noise level, noise characteristics by speed and pure tone analysis for various track conditions was executed. It is shown that the use of improved mud-flap is effective to reduce the interior noise of KTX.

12세 미만 간헐성 외사시안의 수술 이후 시각훈련효과에 대한 임상연구 (A study on the effect of vision therapy after surgery for intermittent exotropia under 12 years of age)

  • Purpose. This study conducted visual function training for children under 12 years of age who relapsed after surgery for intermittent exotropia. We are trying to find out whether the visual function has been improved by visual function training. Methods. After surgery, the subject with recurrent exotropia was given a prescription for refractive error, followed by visual function training and vision therapy with visual sence using prisms and lenses. Results. The subjects' positive relative convergence improved to 19.69𝚫, corrected visual acuity improved to 0.88, and stereoscopic vision function improved to 53.08 arc second. It was found that the smaller the angle of deviation at the time of recurrence after surgery, the better the vision therapy effect. Conclusions. It can be seen that visual function training is helpful in improving visual function, and the importance of visual function training can be known.

Evaluation Method of College English Education Effect Based on Improved Decision Tree Algorithm

  • With the rapid development of educational informatization, teaching methods become diversified characteristics, but a large number of information data restrict the evaluation on teaching subject and object in terms of the effect of English education. Therefore, this study adopts the concept of incremental learning and eigenvalue interval algorithm to improve the weighted decision tree, and builds an English education effect evaluation model based on association rules. According to the results, the average accuracy of information classification of the improved decision tree algorithm is 96.18%, the classification error rate can be as low as 0.02%, and the anti-fitting performance is good. The classification error rate between the improved decision tree algorithm and the original decision tree does not exceed 1%. The proposed educational evaluation method can effectively provide early warning of academic situation analysis, and improve the teachers' professional skills in an accelerated manner and perfect the education system.

개선 미강유 연소에 의한 농용 디젤기관의 배기 배출물 특성 (Exhaust Emissions Characteristics of an Agricultural Diesel Engine with Improved Rice Bran Oil Fuels)

  • The effects of improved rice bran oil on the characteristics of exhaust emissions have been experimentally examined by a single cylinder, four cycle, direct injection, water-cooled and agricultural diesel engine operating at several loads and speeds. The experiments are conducted with light oil rice bran oil, and improved rice bran oil as a fuel. The fuel injection timing is fixed to 22$^{\circ}$BTDC regardless of fuel type, engine loads and speeds. To reduce the viscosity of rice bran oil, it is used with the methods of heating, methyl ester and ultrasonic system in a highly viscous rice bran oil. In this study, it is found that the brake specific fuel consumption rate of light oil is the lowest and that of improved rice bran oil is lower than that of pure rice bran oil, and NOx emissions of light oil are the lowest and those of pure rice bran oil are the highest, but soot emissions of light oil are the highest. However these results are not amply satisfied with the emissions regulation limit using the pure and improved rice bran oil as a fuel in diesel engines.

Dyeability and Colorfastness of Knitted Fabrics with Natural Dye PinuxTM (Part II) -Improvement of Colorfastness Using Cationizing Agent and Smectite-

  • This study examines the possibilities to improve natural dyestuff's (Pinux$^{TM}$) dyeability and colorfastness for C/R (Cotton/Rayon (40/60)) and W/T (Wool/Tencel (10/90)) knitted fabrics in cationizing and smectiting for pre-treatment, simultaneous-treatment and post-treatment process sequences; as well as various other treatment methods. The sample dyeability showed the strongest K/S value in the order of smectite (S) < cationization + smectite (C+S) < cationization (C); however, the K/S value showed a low level in the simultaneoustreatment method of smectite. Colorfastness to washing improved in the order of C < C+S < S, and after the smectite post-treatment process, C/R improved from Grade 1 to Grade 4 and W/T improved from Grade 1-2 to Grade 4. Colorfastness to perspiration generally improved in the same order as the colorfastness to washing and after the smectite post-treatment process C/R, W/T sample's acidic and alkaline colorfastness to perspiration improved greatly. As for the colorfastness to rubbing, the addition of smectite in the simultaneous-treatment and post-treatment processes resulted in improved wet-colorfastness; however, smectite showed less effect on the colorfastness to light compared to other colorfastness ratings.

오수유탕(吳茱萸湯) 투여로 호전된 성인형 아토피 피부염 치험 2례 (Two Cases of Adult Atopic Dermatitis Improved by Administration of Osuyu-tang)

  • Objectives: This study is to report two cases of adult atopic dermatitis improved by Osuyu-tang. Methods: Osuyu-tang was prescribed to two adult atopic dermatitis patients. The patients took Osuyu-tang 3 times a day for 45 days and 50 days, respectively. Results: In case 1 who complained of redness, erythema, edema, exudation, dryness, erosion, lichenification, scaly, and pruritus, skin symptoms improved from 15 to 2, and pruritus also improved from NRS 8 to 2. In case 2 who complained of redness-centered skin symptoms, skin symptoms improved from 15 to 1, and pruritus also improved from NRS 9 to 1. Conclusions: When Osuyu-tang was prescribed to two patients with adult atopic dermatitis, significant improvement was observed. It is thought that Osyyu-tang can be used as the treatment of other similar diseases in the future.

  • Among the AKARI all-sky survey data, the $9{\mu}m$ diffuse map is crucial to study the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) emission features on large spatial scales, while the $18{\mu}m$ map is useful to trace hot dust emission. To utilize these advantages, we have improved the AKARI mid-infrared (MIR) all-sky survey diffuse maps. For example, we have established special methods to remove the effects of the ionizing radiation in the South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA) and of the scattered light from the moon. Using improved diffuse map data, we study the properties of PAHs and dust in the Galactic center region associated with high-energy phenomena.

약인성 간손상 환자에게 협진을 위한 한약의 추가 처방이 간수치에 미치는 영향에 대한 증례보고 (A Case Report of the Effect of Korean Medicine on Liver Function Test of Drug-Induced Liver Injury Patient Treated with Western Medicine)

  • Objective : The purpose of this study is to report that patient diagnosed as drug-induced liver injury treated with herbal and western medicine improve liver function test. Methods : We treated the patient diagnosed as drug-induced liver injury caused by antibiotics with Hepatotonics and Cheonggan-tang Gagam(淸肝湯加減). Then, We followed up the result of liver function test. After the result of liver function test improved, we diagnosed the patient with Korean medical methods, and evaluated the symptom of Cerebral infarction and liver function test treating the patient with Jihwangumja (地黃飮子). Result : After our treatment, Liver function test and symptoms of Cerebral infarction result improved. Conclusion : Use of Western medicine with herbal medicine can improved liver function test of drug-induced liver injury effectively and herbal medicine do not disturb the liver function.
