The purpose of this study was to suggest measures to improve safety and health training by analyzing trainees who participated in the training programs. A survey was administered to 226 trainees who participated in and completed the safety and health training programs provided by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency. The study results showed that the level of satisfaction of employers for the training programs was the lowest compared to the middle managers and employees. Moreover, the middle managers' job competencies were increased, and they applied newly acquired knowledge and skills to their jobs. However, there were significant differences between industries. Finally, although all levels of trainee agreed on the effectiveness of safety and health training, the perceptions of employers were lower than those of employees. Based on these study results, several implications to improve the safety and health training were suggested.

Recently, the importance of information security has become greater. For this reason, the number of departments related to information security at universities and professional educational institutions is increasing. It is analyzed that the curriculum of such educational institutions has a lot to do with the job competency mentioned in NCS in relation to major subjects. This has the advantage of providing a standardized level of education for each job competency. However from the perspective of students there may be limitations on duplicate curriculum quality of education according to the level of teachers and timely acquisition of necessary elemental skills. In this paper we analyze the curriculum of universities and professional educational institutions and propose a cell-based three-dimensional education model to address the limitations of students. We verified based on the college curriculum that the proposed model can effectively improve its limitations.
Due to quantitative growth focused on short-term field placement and excessive competition between universities, the need for long-term field placement model is increasing and participation of government and universities is increasing for effective on-the-job training. In order to solve the problems of shortage of R&D manpower in small and medium sized companies, Kumoh Institute of Technology and three participating universities have been conducting industrial internship as R&D long-term field placement program from 2015. Students undertake long-term on-the-job training in the R & D department for six months to improve their R & D skills and strengthen their work capacity. In this paper, we propose effective ways of stimulating cooperative employment through long-term field placement in R&D departments from pre-preparation stage to ending stage through comparative analysis of cases of industrial internship in 2015 and 2016.
Despite of increasing importance of management in healthcare administration and demand for the professional managers in hospitals, there have been few studies on the issues of competencies and qualifications of mid-managers for effective role performance. This article uses hospital mid-managers' judgements to discuss them in Korean hospital settings. Based on 67 questionnaires completed through the mail survey, the data were analyzed by chi-square test, t-test, ANOVA, and logistic regression. The result shows that knowledge of management skills in healthcare field is the most necessary area in general. Specifically, 'problem-solving ability' is the most important competency, followed by communication and planning capabilities. The mid-managers tend to consider the hospital employment history more important than the academic level. They also present the willingness to recruit the candidates with bachelor degrees rather than those with master or Ph.D. degrees. It is suggested that the candidate with bachelor degree and hospital employment over 6 to 10 years is the most qualified for a mid-manager in hospitals. The study results presented in the paper will provide the direction to improve the educational program and also the insights toward a advising strategy for job consultation for students majored in health service administration.
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has the potential to provide economic opportunities and help raise the social and political status of countries. For developing countries, ICT can be used as a tool for economic growth and social advancement in a short period of time. The benefits of ICT, however, are not only economic in nature. It can help improve professional skills, teaching quality, job creation, agricultural production, community involvement, and information use, personal relationships, and time use. These benefits are examples of how ICT has become an indispensable part of our lives. Myanmar is a developing country and is ranked low in the ICT Development Index. In terms of ICT development, Myanmar today is facing many issues such as a lack of telecommunication infrastructure, ICT awareness, electricity, and budget for ICT development. Among the economic reforms implemented by the recent government, the telecommunications sector has been opened up as a measure of economic reform. As a result of this reform, the telecommunications sector has been growing rapidly. Myanmar, however, remains behind other Asian countries. This paper discusses Myanmar's ICT infrastructure status, progress that has been made in the country's telecommunications over the last fifteen years, and the challenges that lie ahead.
STEAM education is an effective teaching method to develop self-problem-solving skills through creative thinking. In order to revitalize STEAM education, various program models are being developed recently. The purpose of this study is to develop a STEAM education program based on the project-based learing method that includes the process of solving global environmental problems. The STEAM element was extracted by linking the zero energy house design with the middle school curriculum, and the STEAM education program was developed considering career activities. It was analyzed whether the developed program can improve STEAM core competence and job preparation ability. The education program was conducted for middle school students and the program was evaluated through questionnaires. In order to strengthen the STEAM competency, project-based learning method was applied and it was able to enhance the active problem solving ability of learners. In addition, opportunities for career experience could be provided through career exploration programs and various activities. Through this STEAM education program, it is expected to contribute to cultivating human resources with convergence knowledge and core competency.

Understanding teachers in the early childhood education is crucial as it can not only affect the quality of children's education but also cause many critical problems such as child abuse. A significant amount of research work has been made on the use of robots in childcare classrooms. The finding from the research has shown many advantages such as the improvement of learning performance, social/emotional skills, creativity, concentration period, physical and cognitive development. However, most of the study has been implemented at the K-12 classrooms but not much has been focused on the education at the early childhood classrooms. Importantly, it is very crucial to understand teachers' perception, demands and technical competence about the new teaching tool, in order to maximize its educational effect. This paper investigates some critical issues existing in both teaching and managing in the early childhood education. It will also explore teachers' perceptions and expectations on the use of robots to identify some dilemmas that exist in their working and teaching environment. A survey study was conducted with 119 early childhood educators in South Korea. It analyzed the educators' perception of using robots to improve their teaching performance and to make better outcomes for children, investigated job satisfaction and difficulties that they have in the current work environment. This paper concludes with several guidelines for integrating and setting robotics in the early childhood environment, in order to engender productive outcomes for the future early childhood education.
The purpose of this study is to suggest an improvement plan for the National Technical Qualification Practical Evaluation focusing on National Competency Standards. First, in order to strengthen practical techniques such as field abilities and expertise, practical evaluation methods were applied to the National Competency Standards, referring to a learning module focused on field performance. Second, an expert advisory committee in the field of organic agriculture was utilized to compare, analyze, and match the competency unit and competency unit elements of the National Competency Standards with the national technical qualification examination standards in field of organic agriculture. In addition, in order to identify work in progress in the industrial field, share professional practice skills, and analyze facilities and equipment, we visited an organic agriculture industry site. Through this, a practical evaluation exam was developed. Subsequently, in order to confirm the adequacy of the developed exam, the pilot test assessment was conducted for those majoring in organic agriculture. Finally, as a feasibility study, a survey was conducted. Based on the results, greater technical job competency in the field of organic agriculture will contribute to strengthening knowledge in this field by suggesting an improvement plan for the national technical qualifications practical evaluation method in the field of organic agriculture.
Background: Recent research on occupational injuries in companies has faced difficulties in obtaining representative data, leading to studies relying on surveys or case studies. Moreover, it is difficult to find studies on how a company's industry characteristics affect occupational injuries. This study aims to address these limitations. Methods: We collected 11 years of disclosure data from 1,247 listed companies in the Korean stock market and combined it with their occupational injury histories collected by the Republic of Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA) to build a dataset. We attempted to analyze a linear panel model by dividing the dataset into manufacturing, construction, and other industries. Results: The higher proportion of full-time employees and better job skills correlate with lower occupational injuries in other industries. The wage increase reduces occupational injuries in manufacturing and other industries, but the substitution effect produces the opposite outcome in construction. Also, foreign ownership and credit ratings increase effectively reduce occupational injuries mainly in the manufacturing industry. Conclusion: Our results suggest that in explaining the relationship between corporate characteristics and occupational injuries, it is necessary to consider the nature of the industry more closely, and in particular, employment and labor policies for preventing occupational injuries need to be selectively applied according to industry. In addition, to improve the limitations and increase the usability of the research results, further detailed studies are needed in the future.
Background: Dental hygienists provide direct dental care in the closest proximity to the patient, and each practice requires a high level of focus and concentration. These skills are an important human resource that can impact the quality of dental care services. Since more than half of dental clinics provide as overtime work in addition to regular hours, this study aims to determine the association between working overtime and job performance for dental hygienists. Methods: The study was conducted using a combination of online and in-person surveys via Google Forms among 131 employed dental hygienists. The survey consisted of 7 questions on demographic and work characteristics, 16 questions on characteristics related to overtime and the effect of overtime on job security, health, and life, and 10 questions on job performance, for a total of 33 questions. Chi-square analysis and independent samples t-test were used to identify the characteristics of demographic and work characteristics, and descriptive statistics analysis was used for the characteristics of overtime. Independent samples t-test was used to test the difference in the mean of job performance according to whether or not they worked overtime, and linear regression analysis was used to show the association of working overtime and job performance. Results: The study found that 71% of dental clinics worked overtime. The average number of overtime per week was once (78.5%), and the most common problems with overtime were fatigue (52.7%) and lack of personal and leisure time (41.9%). The appropriate number of overtime per week considered by dental hygienists was once a week, which was confirmed to be 94.6%. When comparing job performance by overtime status, those who worked overtime were 3.38 points higher than those who did not (35.45 vs. 32.07). Multiple linear regression analysis of the association of working overtime night and job performance showed that a one-unit increase in worked overtime was associated with a statistically significant increase in job performance of about 3.1 (p<0.01). Conclusion: Working overtime was found to have a positive effect on job performance among dental hygienists. Therefore, as a way to improve the working environment, providing appropriate compensation or welfare for overtime can reduce the negative aspects of overtime and turn it into a positive influence on job performance. This could ultimately raise awareness of the dental hygienist as a professional and effect the efficiency of dental care services.
