탐색영역의 중요도와 적응적인 매칭기준을 이용한 고속 움직임 예측 알고리즘 (Fast Motion Estimation Algorithm Using Importance of Search Range and Adaptive Matching Criterion)

  • 본 논문에서는 비디오 압축에서 성능의 중요한 요소인 움직임 예측을 위한 고속 알고리즘을 제안한다. 기존의 고속 움직임 예측 방법들은 연산량 감축으로 인하여 프레임에 따라 심각한 예측화질 저하의 문제점과 여전히 많은 연산량의 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 전영역 탐색기반의 방법에 비하여 예측화질은 거의 같게 유지하면서 불필요한 계산량을 현저히 줄이는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 움직임 벡터의 확률분포를 이용하여 탐색영역을 중요도 별로 나누고 적응적인 매칭기준을 이용하여 예측화질은 유지하면서 불필요한 계산만을 줄일 수 있는 방법이다. 제안한 알고리즘은 기존의 전영역 탐색방법과 비교하여 예측 화질의 저하가 0.01dB 이하이며, 사용되는 계산량은 3~5%이내이다. 제안한 알고리즘은 MPEG-4 AVC 및 H.265를 이용하는 실시간 비디오 압축 응용분야에 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.

Important measure analysis of uncertainty parameters in bridge probabilistic seismic demands

  • A moment-independent importance measure analysis approach was introduced to quantify the effects of structural uncertainty parameters on probabilistic seismic demands of simply supported girder bridges. Based on the probability distributions of main uncertainty parameters in bridges, conditional and unconditional bridge samples were constructed with Monte-Carlo sampling and analyzed in the OpenSees platform with a series of real seismic ground motion records. Conditional and unconditional probability density functions were developed using kernel density estimation with the results of nonlinear time history analysis of the bridge samples. Moment-independent importance measures of these uncertainty parameters were derived by numerical integrations with the conditional and unconditional probability density functions, and the uncertainty parameters were ranked in descending order of their importance. Different from Tornado diagram approach, the impacts of uncertainty parameters on the whole probability distributions of bridge seismic demands and the interactions of uncertainty parameters were considered simultaneously in the importance measure analysis approach. Results show that the interaction of uncertainty parameters had significant impacts on the seismic demand of components, and in some cases, it changed the most significant parameters for piers, bearings and abutments.

  • Notion sickness is well known to be caused by long time exposure to the very low frequency motion in the multiple axes of human body Since the vestibular system for the perception of low frequency motion is located in the head, accurate measurement of 6 degree of freedom head motion is of great importance. In this study, the measurement system consisting of a safety helmet and 9 translational accelerometers was constructed for the estimation of 3 translational and 3 rotational motions of human head. Since estimation errors of 3 rotational components can be significantly magnified even by small offset of the sensitivity axis from the geometric center of an accelerometer, accurate measurement of sensitivity axis must be preceded. The method for accurate estimation of the offset was proposed, and the effect of offset on the estimation of angular acceleration was investigated.

  • This research suggests the estimation methodology of Logistics. This paper elucidates the main problems associated with estimation in the regression model. We review the methods for estimating the parameters in the model and introduce a modified procedure in which all models are fitted and combined to construct a combination of estimates. The resulting estimators are found to be as efficient as the maximum likelihood (ML) estimators in various cases. Our method requires more computations but has an advantage for large data sets. Also, it enables to detect particular features in the data structure. Examples of real data are used to illustrate the properties of the estimators. The backgrounds of estimation of logistic regression model is the increasing logistic environment importance today. In the first phase, we conduct an exploratory study to discuss 9 independent variables. In the second phase, we try to find the fittest logistic regression model. In the third phase, we calculate the logistic estimation using logistic regression model. The parameters of logistic regression model were estimated using ordinary least squares regression. The standard assumptions of OLS estimation were tested. The calculated value of the F-statistics for the logistic regression model is significant at the 5% level. The logistic regression model also explains a significant amount of variance in the dependent variable. The parameter estimates of the logistic regression model with t-statistics in parentheses are presented in Table. The object of this paper is to find the best logistic regression model to estimate the comparative accurate logistics.

위험을 고려한 응용소프트웨어의 유지관리비용 산정모델에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Maintenance Cost Estimation Model for Application Software by Considering Risks)

  • Software is more diverse and complex and the level of importance for the maintenance of application software to securely operate software is also gradually increasing in proportion. The calculation method for maintenance cost of application software applied in Korea public enterprises is involved in the range of 10 to 15% of development cost, depending on the Software Project Cost Estimation Guide. Moreover, as most software maintenance cost estimation procedures do not take into consideration of the risk factors related of maintenance, it can be seen as a main cause for the occurrence of maintenance related accidents. This study proposes a maintenance cost estimate model that takes into consideration of the risks related to the software maintenance activities to improve and resolve issues arising from the estimation of maintenance cost. In doing so, maintenance risk factors are analyzed and a risk index is derived through the analysis of risk levels based on the risk factors. Based on such analysis, a maintenance cost estimate method which reflects the maintenance risk index was established.

V2V 통신을 이용한 상대 차량 상태 추정 알고리즘 개발 (Development of Target Vehicle State Estimation Algorithm Using V2V Communication)

  • This paper describes the development of a target vehicle state estimation algorithm using vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication. Perceiving the state of the target vehicle has great importance for successful autonomous driving and has been studied using various sensors and methods for many years. V2V communication has advantage of not being constrained by surrounding circumstances relative to other sensors. In this paper, we adopt the V2V signal for estimating the target vehicle state. Since applying only the V2V signal is improper by its low frequency and latency, the signal is used as additional measured data to improve the estimation accuracy. We estimate the target vehicle state using Extended Kalman filter (EKF); a point mass model was utilized in process update to predict the state of next step. The process update is followed by measurement update when ego vehicle receives V2V information. The proposed study evaluated state estimation by comparing input V2V information in an experiment where the ego vehicle follows the target vehicle behind it.

주거지 환경친화성 평가 지표체계 개발 (Estimation Indicator System for the Environmentally Friendliness of Residential Areas)

  • Recently, Environmental friendliness and sustainability become the main concern of residential area planning. This paper deals with the estimation indicator system for environmentally friendliness of residential areas. An interview survey was carried out for resident groups by the type of housing. 'Environmentally friendly residential site' is defined as 'A site of sustainable development with low undesirable impact on environment, friendliness to natural environments such as green areas and waters, and amenity, health & hygiene of residents' Totally, nineteen individual indicators, six categories and three principles(Low Impact, High Contact, Amenity & Health) were proposed as estimation indicator system. Residents showed high importance on principle of 'amenity & health'. Individual indicators such as 'garbage segregated collection', 'secure green areas' and 'cleanness of water and air' showed high weighting value by each principles. Satisfaction level of residents for individual indicators, such as 'garbage segregated collection', 'common gardens', and 'cleanness of residential areas', were comparatively high. By the result of factor analysis, the proposed model for indicator system was valid.

다중해상도 영상을 이용한 동영상 압축 (Video coding using multi-resolution image)

  • In this paper, a video coding method in wavelet transformed multi-resolution image using variable block sized motion estimation and multi-codebook is proposed. In the propoed method, the accuracy of motion estimation is increased by using variable block matching algorithm based on edge type of blocks which estimation is increased by using variable block matching algoritm based on edge type of blocks which is classified accoridng to the magnitude of wavelet coefficients in vertical subband and horizontal subband of the highest layer. Also, we increased the flexibility of bit allocation and decreased vector quantization error for motion compensated error transmission by using importance of each subband. Some experimental results confirm that he proposed mothod has fine reconstructed images without blocking effect at low bit rate, and especially reconstructs edges well to which human eyes are sensitive.

  • As the vehicle becomes bigger and faster, the importance of vehicle stability in an extreme driving condition caused by sudden steering, road condition or unexpected case has been emphasized. The ESP system is being utilized to improve the handling performance and the vehicle stability. In this study, we implemented various tests and proposed estimation methods for ESP characteristics in extreme driving situations. The estimation methods for ESP proposed in this paper are expected to facilitate developing the control logic and improving the performance of the ESP system.
