  • An 8192-point pipelined FFT/IFFT processor core is designed, which can be used in multi-carrier modulation systems such as DUf-based VDSL modem and OFDM-based DVB system. In order to improve the signal-to-quantization-noise ratio (SQNR) of FFT/IFFT results, two-step convergent block floating-point (TS_CBFP) scaling is employed. Since the proposed TS_CBFP scaling does not require additional buffer memory, it reduces memory as much as about 80% when compared with conventional CBFP methods, resulting in area-and power-efficient implementation. The SQNR of about 60-㏈ is achieved with 10-bit input, 14-bit internal data and twiddle factors, and 16-bit output. The core synthesized using 0.25-$\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS library has about 76,300 gates, 390K bits RAM, and twiddle factor ROM of 39K bits. Simulation results show that it can safely operate up to 50-㎒ clock frequency at 2.5-V supply, resulting that a 8192-point FFT/IFFT can be computed every 164-${\mu}\textrm{s}$. It was verified by Xilinx FPGA implementation.

  • The technique of developing Digital Contents have still not be a standard, and it is cause some problems in the Digital Contents's creating, circulation and consumption, So solve the problem, MPEG suggest MPEG-21 framework. In the standard, The IPMP take charge of the Digital Contents's protection and management, and also it is the same as the rights expression language REL and the dictionary defining the word of REL. But. the study of the IPMP is later than the study of REL and RDD, such as the other study of the MPEG-21 standard. So, there is few system based REL and RDD. In this paper, in order to management and protect contents right. So facing the latest standard, we designed and implementation the Tool Server and the License Server based on REL/RDD.

  • Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) in the form of Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) systems are being applied for numerous water augmentation projects both in developed and developing countries. Given the onset of Climate Change and its influence on weather patterns and land use, it has been acknowledged the utilization of this technology will be ever increasing. This technique like all others does have its drawbacks or disadvantages, whereby to overcome these drawbacks or disadvantages it is recommended that logical planning process be followed. In this study, we developed a decision framework known as "Decision framework for the planning, designing, construction/testing and implementation of subsurface water storage system" to further standardize the planning and design process of subsurface water storage system to increase the probability of having a successful ASR/ASTR project. The formulation of this framework was based on earlier frameworks, guidelines, published papers and technical reports which were compiled into a data collection database. The database of which consider both qualitative and quantitative aspect for example recharge objectives, site location, water chemistry of the native, source and recovered water, aquifer characteristics(hydraulic conductivity, transmissivity, porosity), injection/pumping rate, ecological constraints, societal restrictions, regulatory restrictions etc. The assimilation of these factors into a singular framework will benefit the broad spectrum of stakeholder as it maps the chronological order under which ASR project should be undertaken highlighting at each stage the feasibility of the project. The final stage of which should result in fully operational ASR system. The framework was applied to two case studies and through the application of a modified ASR site selection suitability index (Brown et al., 2005) a score was derived to identify the performance of each site. A high score of which meant a maximize chance of success given the reduce presence of project constraints.

  • Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment (SEA) is a decision-making process taking into account the environmental impact, economic and social impact of policies, plans, and programs at the higher stage prior to the project plan for promoting sustainable development. In this study, we analyzed the process and criteria for selecting appropriate alternatives when establishing development plan in SEA. First, the criteria for estimating changes in ecosystem services following the implementation of development project of industrial complex were presented. Second, alternative evaluations were conducted through an analysis of ecosystem service scenarios to explore suitable alternatives in Anseong. As a result, the environmental quality of selected area as the existing project site deteriorated according to the implementation of the project, and the dimensional reduction technique confirmed that the change in ecosystem service factors in project area was the optimal location. In addition, the results of the scenario assessment to explore suitable alternatives in Anseong City showed that the existing site had large capacity in terms of water quality control services (scenario 1), scenario 2 in terms of preconditioning services, and scenario 3 in terms of water supply services. The guidance of Ecosystem service assessment is expected to be available in decision-making of large-scale strategies (e.g., SEA) and projects by presenting more quantitative criteria for determining the adequacy and location feasibility of development plans and policy plans. This is expected to require various support, including legislation and revision of related laws, believed to be supported by advanced research.

  • In this paper, we implement viewport dependent tile partitioning for high quality 360 video transmission and rendering method to present a HMD (Head Mounted Display) screen for 360 video quality evaluation. As a method for high-quality video transmission based on a user's viewport, this paper introduces MCTS (Motion Constrained Tile Sets) technique for solving the motion reference problem and EIS (Extraction Information Sets) SEI including pre-configured tile information, and extractor that extracts tiles. In addition, it explains tile extraction method based on user's viewport and implementation contents of the method of expressing on an HMD. Therefore, if 360 video is transferred by the proposed implementation which only transfers video from the user viewport area, it is possible to express higher quality video with lower bandwidth while avoiding unnecessary image transmission.

  • Recently, there are several technologies for protecting information in the lightweight device, One of them, the AES[1] algorithm and CRT mode, is used for numerous services(e,g, OMA DRM, VoIP, IPTV) as encryption technique for preserving confidentiality. Although it is possible that the AES algorithm CRT mode can parallel process transmitting data, IPTV Set-top Box or Mobile Device that uses these streaming service has limited computation-ability. So optimizing crypto algorithm and enhancing its efficiency for those environment have become an important issue. In this paper, we propose implementation method that can improve efficiency of the AES-CRT Mode by improving algorithm logics. Moreover, we prove the performance of our proposal on the mobile device which has limited capability.

  • In the case of safety training where practical training is impossible due to risk problems, training contents using realistic media such as virtual reality or augmented reality are becoming a new alternative. In this paper, we propose a smoke modeling method that can be applied to safety-training contents implemented with realistic media technology. When an accident occurs in a hazardous area such as a petrochemical plant, visibility is not secured due to gas leakage and fire. In order to create such a situation, it is important to realistically express smoke. The proposed method is a smoke model implementation technique that can be effectively applied to the background of complex passages and devices such as petrochemical plants. In the proposed method, the smoke is expressed using volumetric rendering in the post-processing stage for the resulting image of scene rendering. Implementation results in the background of the factory show that the proposed method produces models that can express the smoke realistically.

  • The SITM (See-In-The-Middle) attack proposed in CHES 2020 is a type of analysis technique that combines differential cryptanalysis and side-channel analysis, and can be applied even in a harsh environment with a low SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio). This attack targets partial 1st or higher order masked block cipher, and uses unmasked middle round weakness. PRESENT is a lightweight blockcipher proposed in CHES 2007, designed to be implemented efficiently in a low-power environment. In this paper, we propose SITM attacks on 14-round masked implementation of PRESENT while the previous attacks were applicable to 4-round masked implementation of PRESENT. This indicates that PRESENT has to be implemented with more than 16-round masking to be resistant to our attacks.
