CFRD Bedding Zone의 축조재료에 대한 투수성 평가 (Evaluation of Permeability on Construction Material in CFRD Bedding Zone)

  • 우리나라는 암석자원이 풍부하기 때문에 콘크리트표면 차수벽형 석괴댐(CFRD)의 시공이 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 콘크리트표면 차수벽형 석괴댐에서의 표층부 기초지반인 Bedding Zone 구간은 콘크리트 차수벽을 균등하게 지지할 수 있는 지지력과 콘크리트 차수벽의 누수시 세립토의 유실을 억제할 수 있는 차수성을 유지하여야 한다. 따라서 Bedding Zone 구간의 차수성 확보 여부가 댐의 안정성을 좌우하는 주요 요인이 될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 시방서에 제시된 Zone-1 구간의 설계입도분포를 만족하는 시험재료를 선정한 후, 차수성을 평가하기 위하여 실내시험을 실시하였다. 시험 분석 결과 투수계수, 건조단위중량 및 흙의 입도분포에 따른 차수효과의 상관관계를 제시하였다. 특히, 투수계수와 건조단위중량의 상관관계, No. 4체 중량통과백분율과 투수계수 관계가 제시되었고, 또한 시간경과에 따른 투수계수의 변화도 제시되었다.

Mechanical and durability properties of fluoropolymer modified cement mortar

  • The addition of different types of polymers such as SBR, VAE, Acrylic, etc. in concrete and mortar leads to an increase in compressive, tensile and bond strength and decrease in permeability of polymer modified mortar (PMM) and concrete (PMC). The improvement in properties such as bond strength and impermeability makes PMM/PMC suitable for use as repair/retrofitting and water proofing material. In the present study effect of addition of fluoropolymer on the strength and permeability properties of mortar has been studied. In the cement mortar different percentages viz. 10, 20 and 30 percent of fluoropolymer by weight of cement was added. It has been observed that on addition of fluoropolymer in mortar the workability of mortar increases. In the present study all specimens were cast keeping the workability constant, i.e., flow value $105{\pm}5mm$, by changing the amount of water content in the mortar suitably. The specimens were cured for two different curing conditions. Firstly, these were cured wet for one day and then cured dry for 27 days. Secondly, specimens were cured wet for 7 days and then cured dry for 21 days. It has been observed that compressive strength and split tensile strength of specimens cured wet for 7 days and then cured dry for 21 days is 7-13 percent and 12-15 percent, respectively, higher than specimens cured one day dry and 27 days wet. The sorptivity of fluoropolymer modified mortar decreases by 88.56% and 91% for curing condtion one and two, respectively. However, It has been observed that on addition of 10 percent fluoropolymer both compressive and tensile strength decreases, but with the increase in percentage addition from 10 to 20 and 30 percent both the strengths starts increasing and becomes equal to that of the control specimen at 30 percent for both the curing conditions. It is further observed that percentage decrease in strength for second curing condition is relatively less as compared to the first curing condition. However, for both the curing conditions chloride ion permeability of polymer modified mortar becomes very low.

주차장 지역의 강우에 의한 Pb와 Zn의 유출 특성 (Runoff Characteristics of Heavy Metals from a Parking Lot by Rainfall)

  • Runoff from a parking lot can be highly contaminated nonpoint source due to the impermeability of rainwater. This study presented runoff characteristics of heavy metals especially Zn and Pb from a parking lot during total 17 rain events. Monitoring results showed the first flush phenomenon within 30 min was observed in all rain events, but the event mean concentration (EMC) did not clearly show the characteristics of runoff. The ranges of Pb and Zn was $4{\sim}201{\mu}g/L$ and $131{\sim}672{\mu}g/L$, respectively, and the runoff mass of Zn and Pb was highly to related with the flow rate, and runoff coefficient of rain. The runoff mass of Zn was greater than that of Pb in all events. The runoff mass of Pb was highly correlated with the amount of TSS, and TSS and DOC were was related with the mass of Zn. This result implies that Pb and Zn are mainly existed in the particulate form. The results can be used to as meaningful data in the management of nonpoint source, and in the management in the runoff catchment in the parking lot.

타이어 인너라이너용 고차단화 기술 (High Performance Barrier Technologies for Tire Innerliner)

  • 타이어 인너라이너(innerliner)는 타이어 내부의 고무층으로 타이어의 공기압 유지 및 내구성능을 유지하는 중요한 역할을 한다. 일반적으로 인너라이너용 고무는 공기 투과속도가 낮은 halogenated butyl rubber(HIIR)를 가장 많이 사용하고 있다. 수년 전부터 chloronated butyl rubber(CIIR), brominated poly(isobutylene-co-isoprene)(BIIR), brominated polyisobutylene-co-paramethylstyrene(BIMS) 고무와 높은 종횡비를 지닌 충전제를 복합화하여 고무기질내의 공기 투과 거리를 증가시켜 공기 차단 특성을 향상시키는 나노복합체 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 인너라이너의 고차단화 기술은 인너라이너의 두께 조절이 가능하고, 일정한 공기압 유지를 통한 타이어의 내구성능을 향상시킬 수 있는 장점을 가지고 있다. 따라서, 고무 소재의 공기 차단 특성을 부여할 수 있는 차단성 소재 및 나노복합체 제조 기술에 대해서 살펴보았다.

전자빔 조사에 의한 유리상 탄소에서의 구조적 변화와 열전 성능의 상관관계 (Correlation between a Structural Change and a Thermoelectric Performance of a Glassy Carbon Thin Film Induced by Electron Beam Irradiation)

  • 유리상 탄소는 열적으로 안정하고, 화학적 반응성이 매우 낮으며, 다양한 크기로 제작이 가능하고, 전기적 저항 또한 낮아서 다양한 극한 환경에서 사용 가능하다. 이 논문에서는 전자빔 조사가 유리상 탄소 박막의 구조 변화에 미치는 영향과 그에 따른 열전효과 변화에 대해 연구하였다. 라만 분광 특성 분석을 바탕으로 유리상 탄소 박막에 전자빔 조사에 따라 결정화 또는 비정질화가 일어나는 것을 확인하였다. 또한, 이러한 결정변화가 유리상 탄소 박막의 자유전자 도핑 농도의 변화시키며 그에 따른 제백 상수나 전기적 전도도의 변화도 확인하였다. 전자빔 조사로 인하여 유리상 탄소의 열전파워 펙터가 최대 200%까지 향상되는 것을 보여 주었다.

  • Dunaliella tertiolecta did not show any increase in respiration rate when supplied with glucose, glycerol, sucrose, L-alanine, acetate, pyruvate and succinate. This was in contrast to Chlorella pyrenoidosa, which, under identical conditions, showed significant increase when supplied with glucose or acetate but not with the other compounds. Production of 14CO2 from added 14C-glucose in D. tertiolecta was lower than the other 14C-labelled substrates: L-alinine, glycerol, succinate, but higher than 14C-sucrose addition. And it was also lower than C. pyrenoidosa experiments which was added 14C-glucose as a substrate. Light reduced amounts of labelled carbon dioxide from 14C-glucose or 14C-acetate and increased incorporation of 14C from the substrates to cell materials in either D. tertiolecta or C. pyrenoidosa. The contribution of 14C from 14C-glucose to 14CO2 in cell-free system of D. tertiolecta were much higher than in whole cell suspension. It was contrast to C. pyrenoidosa which were showed reduction of 14CO2 production in cell-free systems than whole cell suspensions. When cell-free systems of D. tertiolecta and C. pyrenoidosa were supplied with ATP, NAD, NADP or/and hexokinase, it was remarkably increased production of 14CO2 from the substrates than the control. It was concluded that the low ability of D. tertiolecta to metabolize glucose were caused by the impermeability of the cell membrane to glucose and were not due to deficiencies of enzyme systems concerning glucose metabolism. In the cell-free systems, it seemed to be more active pentose phosphate pathway than glycolytic pathway in D. tertiolecta.

The Characterization of the Resin Bonded Graphite Composite Bipolar Plate using Isotropic Graphite Powder for PEM Fuel Cell

  • In this study, graphite composites were fabricated by warm press molding method to realize commercialization of PEM fuel cells. Graphite composites have been considered as alternative economic materials for bipolar plate of PEM fuel cells. Graphite powder that enables to provide electrical conductivity was selected as the main substance. The graphite powder was mixed with phenolic resin and the mixture was pressed using a warm press method. First of all, the graphite powder was pulverized with a ball mill for the dense packing of composite. As the ball milling time increases, the average size of particles decreases and the size distribution becomes narrow. This allows for improvement of the uniformity of graphite composite. However, the surface electrical resistivity of graphite composite increases as the ball milling time increases. It is due to that graphite particles with amorphous phase are generated on the surface due to the friction and collision of particles during pulverizing. We found that the contact electrical resistivity of graphite particles increases as the particle size decreases. The contact electrical resistivity of graphite powders was reduced due to high molding pressure by warm press molding. This leads to improvement of the mechanical properties of graphite composite. Hydrogen gas impermeability was measured with the graphite composite, showing a possibility of the application for bipolar plate in fuel cell. And, I-V curves of the graphite composite bipolar plate exhibit a similar performance to the graphite bipolar plate.

  • 최근 많은 연구를 통해 비탈면의 우기시 안정성 검토 방법이 기존의 해석 방법에 비해 강우를 고려한 침투해석이 보다 경제적이고, 현실적이라는 주장이 제기되고 있다. 최근 개정된 건설공사 비탈면 설계기준에서도 보다 현실적인 안정성 검토를 위해우기 시 강우를 고려하여 침투해석을 실시할 수도 있게 개정되었다. 그러나 침투해석 과정에는 지반의 불투수특성과 강우강도등 고려되는 인자들로 인해 그 과정이 복잡하다는 애로사항이 있다. 본 연구에서는 침투해석을 이용한 보다 효과적인 안정성 검토 방법을 제시하기 위해 흙의 종류와 지속강우 특성에 따른 침투 조건을 변화시켜 일반적인 침투양상을 파악하였다. 그 결과를 이용하여 지표면까지 포화된다는 가정하에 해석을 실시할 수 있는 조건을 제시할 수 있었다.

청양-홍성간 도로에서의 강우 시 비점오염 유출특성 및 오염부하량 분석 (Runoff Characteristics and Non-point Source Pollution Loads from Cheongyang-Hongseong Road)

  • Nowadays, the importance of non-point source pollution treatment is being emphasized. Especially, the easy runoff characteristic of highly concentrated pollutants in the roads makes the circumstance more complicated due to impermeability of roads. When the pollutants flow into steam it could make water quality in stream worse and it also causes a bad influence in the aquatic ecosystem because the effluents of rainfall-runoff may contain indecomposable materials like oil and heavy metals. Therefore, we tried to figure out the property of non-point source pollution when it is raining and carried out an assessment for the property of runoff for non-point source pollution and EMC (Event Mean Concentrations) of the essential pollutants during this study. As the result of the study, the EMC was BOD 5.2~21.7 mg/L, COD 7.5~35.4 mg/L, TSS 71.5~466.1 mg/L, T-N 0.682~1.789 mg/L and T-P 0.174~0.378 mg/L, respectively. The decreasing rate of non-point pollutant in Chungyang-Hongsung road indicates the maximum decrease of 80% until 5 mm of rainfall based on SS concentration; by the rainy time within 20~30 minutes, the decreasing rate of SS concentration was shown as 88.0~97.6%. Therefore it was concluded that it seems to be possibly control non-point pollutants if we install equipments to treat non-point pollutants with holding capacity of 30 min. It is supposed that the result of this study could be used for non-point pollutants treatment of roads in Chungyang-Hongsung area. We also want to systematically study and consistently prepare the efficient management of runoff from non-point source pollution and pollutant loading because the characteristics of non-point source pollution runoff changes depending on different characteristics and situations of roads and rainfall.

중.저준위 방사성폐기물 천층처분을 위한 처분덮개의 성능실증 시험시설 개념설계 (A Conceptual Design on Performance Test Facility of Disposal Cover for the Near Surface Disposal of Low and Intermediate Level Radioactive Waste)

  • 처분덮개는 중.저준위 방사성폐기물 천층처분시설의 성능 유지에 중요한 역할을 하므로 여러가지 시험과 장기관측을 통한 처분덮개의 성능실증 연구는 시설의 안전성 확보에 불가결한 요소이다. 처분덮개의 기본적인 성능요건으로는 불투수성, 건전성, 열화에의 저항력 및 유지보수의 용이성 등을 고려할 수 있다. 이러한 성능요건을 단일층으로는 충족하기 어려운 점을 고려하여 HELP(Hydrologic Evaluation of Landfill Performance) 코드를 사용한 물수지 평가를 통해 상부 보호층, 중간 배수층 및 하부 저투수층 등으로 구성된 다층덮개 개념을 도출하였다. 처분덮개 내에서의 수분이동특성을 규명하기 위해 TDR(Time Domain Reflectometry)과 Tensiometer를 사용하여 각각 함수비와 matric potential의 변화를 3$\times$3$\times$3.3m 크기의 6개 시험고에서 장기관측 할 수 있도록 설계하였다.
