  • 이 논문은 건설이 완료된 700MW급 발전소의 시운전 기간 중 주 급수펌프 임펠러에서 반복적으로 발생된 웨어링 이탈 및 고착, 슈라우드 손상 그리고 축 절단 등의 절손이 부분부하 조건에서 증폭되는 압력맥동과 연관이 있는 것으로 규명되었다.

펌프 임펠러의 부식 파손에 대한 연구 (Study on the Corrosion Damages of Pump Impeller)

  • The steel impeller placed in a water pump has been studied with the aim to understand corrosion phenomena on the surface responsible for reducing the pumping efficiency of water inside cooling system. This preliminary experiment includes a period (over 5 months) observation with a powered microscope and weight measurements. The experiments are carried out at different conditions of water and mixtures of water and coolants, based on the water contents of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% water (pure tap water). From the visual results of microscopy, most of the steel surface is fitted and clear rusty or corrosion phenomena are noticeable as time goes. In addition, the weight loss of the sample specimen submerged in the water is linearly increased, whereas those in the mixtures of water initially be constant and then gain weight linearly.

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest 10 kinds of case and perform Mixed-flow pump optimum design and performance analysis depending on the shape of the impeller for suitable to water jet propulsion system. H20 was applied to the material properties, to analysis conditions for water jet axial impeller 1000 rpm given analysis was performed. Interpretation for each case as a result of speed, pressure, flow rate, calculate the thrust at the Inlet Angle $30^{\circ}$ and Outlet Angle $30^{\circ}$ could see a persistence of optimal performance.

저점도 액 통기 교반용 글라스라이닝 홈베이스 임펠러의 최적 형상 (Optimum Geometry of Glass Lined HOMEBASE Impeller for Gas-Liquid System of Low Viscosity Liquid)

  • 글라스 라이닝 임펠러는 강산을 포함한 대부분의 화학물질들에 대해 내부식성이 있고, 또한 평활하고 눌어붙지 않는 표면을 가지며 세정이 용이하고 프로세스에 불순물들을 유입하지 않는 강점을 갖고 있다. 글라스 라이닝 HOMEBASE 임펠러는 저점도 유체에서 고점도 유체까지 폭넓은 점도 범위의 액체를 교반할 수 있도록 개발된 다목적형 대형 교반 임펠러이나, 그중에서도 세포 배양이나 효모의 배양, 맥주 발효 솥 등은 저점도 액의 통기 교반에 많이 사용하며, 특히 공기-수계의 통기성 교반에 많이 적용한다. 구조가 간단하면서도 성능 면에서 경쟁력을 갖는 HOMEBASE 임펠러에 대한 글라스 라이닝은 제작상 임펠러와 샤프트의 접합 면적을 가능한 한 작게 할 수 있도록 상하 분할이 필수적이다. 임펠러의 상하 분할은 혼합 성능에는 거의 영향을 미치지 않지만, 통기 성능을 저하하였다. 본 연구에서는 Glass Lined HOMEBASE 임펠러 형상의 최적화를 위해, 상·하부로 분할된 임펠러 사이의 장착각도차와 임펠러 사이의 간격 및 방해판의 개수가 통기 동력에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 상·하부로 분할된 임펠러 사이의 장착각도차와 간격이 통기를 할 때의 동력 Pg와 통기가 없을 때의 동력 P0의 비인 Pg/P0를 저하시킨다는 연구 결과를 통해 Glass Lined HOMEBASE 임펠러 최적 형상과 방해판 조건을 도출하였다.

항공기용 연료승압펌프 설계 (Design and Analysis of the Fuel Boost Pump for the Aircraft)

  • The fuel boost pump for the aircraft was first indigenously developed in Korea. It is one of the core component for fuel subsystem and composed of motor assembly, impeller assembly, and body assembly with BLDC motor. It shall provide some amount of fuel to engine system continuously for any flight condition considering sudden altitude change and any attitude. This paper describes the procedures and the results for the design, the integration, and the performance analysis of the fuel boost pump.

  • The objective of present study is to find the interaction between volute and impeller of the centrifugal turbomachinery with rectangular cross-sectional volute. Flow measurement were taken in shrouded impeller with 12 backward type blades by using a five-hole pressure probe. The measurements are carried out in 7 flow rate, respectively. Primary function of a centrifugal turbo machinery volute is to serve the flow from the impeller and diffuser to pipe system. For the off-design conditions, Influence of pressure distortion was shown by these measurements. As a result, It has caused the decrease of total efficiency of centrifugal turbomachinery. We have also taken data to design volute by these measurements.

  • Traditional vacuum cleaner adoptsa highly rotating centrifugal impeller for generating suction region at lower pressure. The rotational speed is very high at 35,000 to 40,000 rpm and accessory structure such as a circular brush at the base plate of the cleaning devices is equipped for gathering dusts. Highly rotating impeller is effective for low pressure generation but causes noise problems. Recently, the unwanted noise is removed by installation of air-pump, instead of a centrifugal impeller, and the internal flows of the modified system are estimated in numerical and experimental approach, respectively.

  • In this paper, a wall climbing robot, called LAVAR, is developed, which is using an impeller for adhering. The adhesion mechanism of the robot consists of an impeller and two-layered suction seals which provide sufficient adhesion force for the robot body on the non smooth vertical wall and horizontal ceiling. The robot uses two driving-wheels and one ball-caster to maneuver the wall surface. A suspension mechanism is also used to overcome the obstacles on the wall surface. For its design, the whole adhering mechanism is analyzed and the control system is built up based on this analysis. The performances of the robot are experimentally verified on the vertical and horizontal flat surfaces.

임펠러 용접용 인덱스 테이블의 개발 (Development of Welding Index Table for FD Fan Impeller)

  • This study is regarding development of an index table for antomation of welding process in impeller fabrication. A PLC, which is widely used for automation in industry, was also adopted as a controller for the index table because of it effectiveness, easy maintenance and repair. The index table consists of centering jig, blade jig, workbench, driving system and a controller. A touch screen was also prepaired as a man-machine interface to provide convenience for workers. Water jacket was installed inside the workbench to reduce thermal stress come from the welding. Temperature of the water jacket was kept constant to cool an impeller main plate effectively. The index table developed in this study convinces that it reduces the total welding time by 50% compared with the conventional process without the table.

  • In the Part I has been reported a rotordynamic analysis of the driving motor-bull gear rotor-bearing system of a turbo-chiller. In this study, Part II, a rotordynamic analysis is performed with the turbo-chiller compressor pinion-impeller rotor system supported on two fluid film bearings. The pinion-impeller rotor system is driven to a rated speed of 14,600 rpm through a speed-increasing pinion-bull gear. It is modeled utilizing the finite element method for analysis. As loadings on the bearings due to the gear action are significant in the system considered, each resultant bearing load is calculated statically by considering the generalized forces of the gear action as well as the rotor itself. The two support bearings, the generalized forces of the gear action as well as the rotor itself. The two support bearings, partial and 3-axial groove bearings, are designed to take their varying loads along with their varying load angles, and they are also analyzed to give their rotordynamic coefficients. Then, a complex rotordynamic analysis of the compressor pinion-impeller rotor-bearing system is carried out to evaluate its stability, whirl natural frequencies and mode shapes, and unbalance responses under various loading conditions. Results show that the bearings and entire rotor system are well designed regardless of operating conditions, i.e., loads and operating speeds.
