In general, the vertical vibration problems for strength of members and serviceability of building structures are not considered in structural design process, but the prediction of the vertical vibration is very important and essential to structural design process. This study aims to investigate the characteristics of vertical vibration in terms of the transfer of horizontal directions to near-rooms on the shear wall building structures. In order to examine the characteristics of vertical vibration, the modal test and the impact (heel-drop and hammer) excitation experiments were conducted several times on two building structure. The results from the experiments are analyzed and compared with the results. The results of this study suggest that the characteristics of vertical vibration transfer in horizontal way are effected from the fundamental frequency of the slabs, and are effected the shear wall on the Path of the vibration transfer.
The prediction of vibration response of floor is necessary in order to check whether the floor vibration level will satisfy the allowable vibration standard of precise machinery such as electronic microscopes in semiconductor manufacturing plant before the installation of various neighboring equipment facility. In conventional vibration isolation, we were mainly interested in minimization of vibration transmissibility and stabilization of vibration isolation system. But in order to predict vibration response of floor, it is necessary to know exciting force of equipment installed on the floor and the mobility of the floor. We measured the exciting force of the dropped mass assumed as equipment and the mobility of some practical building floor using large impact hammer. And from this we predicted the vibration response of floor on which the mass dropped. This predicted vibration response of floor is compared with measured vibration response. Through upper procedure, we examined the possibility of predicting vibration response of floor from the information of exciting force of equipment and the mobility of floor.
The impact hammer is extensively used in experimental modal analysis as a means to provide force over a broad range of frequencies. The hammer mass and the impact head are often changed to achieve a desired impact time duration with its corresponding input frequency spectrum, these mass changes affect the performance and sensitivity of the force transducer employed to measure the impact force. Both a mathematical model describing the effects of impact head and hammer mass on the performance of the force transducer and experimental verification of this model are presented here.
The vibration on building structures due to exciting vibration forces has been studied only for the vibration level on existing buildings. Recently, several researches have been performed on the prediction of vertical vibration on structures by using an analytical method. However, these studies have been focused on mainly the vibration analysis through analytical modeling of structures. This study aims to investigate the characteristics of vertical vibration transfer in terms of the directions of transfer(upward transfer and downward transfer) on the shear wall building structures due to 2 type vibration forces. In order to examine the characteristics of vertical vibration transfer, the mode analysis and the impact experiment were conducted several times on one building structure. The results of this study suggest that the characteristics of vertical vibration transfer are different in terms of the directions of transfer.
Recently, because of development of the high speed train technology, the vibration loads by train is significantly increased ever than before. This buried gas pipelines are exposed to both repeated impact loads, and, moreover, they have been influencing by vibration loads than pipeline which is not located under vehicle loads. The vibration characteristic of pipeline is examined by dynamic analysis, and variable is only train speed. Since an effect of magnitude of vibration loads is more critical than cover depth, as increasing the train speed, the vibration speed of buried pipelines is also increased. The slope of vibration velocity is changed by attenuation of wave, at train speed, 300 km/h. From the analysis results, the vibration velocity of pipelines is satisfied with the vibration velocity criteria which are established by Korea Gas Corporation. The results present operation condition of pipelines under rail loads has fully sound integrity based on KOGAS specification.
Tubes in heat exchanger of fuel rods in reactor core are supported at intemediate point by support p0lates or springs. Current practice is, in case of heat exchanger, to allow clearance between tube and support plate for design and manufacturing consideration. And in case of fuel rod the clearance in support point can be generated due to the support spring force relaxation. Flow-induced vibration of a tube can cause it to impact or rub against support plate or against adjacent tubes and can result in fretting-wear. The tube-to- support dynamic interaction is used to relate experimental wear data from single-span test rigs to real multi-span heat exchanger configurations. The dynamic interaction cna be measured during experimental wear tests. However, the dynamic interaction is difficult to measure in real heat exchangers and, therefore, analytical techniques are required to estimate this interaction. This paper describels the nonlinear impact model of DAGS(Dynamic Analysis of Gapped Structure) code which simulates the tube response to external sinusodial or step excitation and predicts tube motion and tube-to-support dynamic interaction. Three experimental measurements-two single span rods excited by sinusodial force and a two span rod impacted by a steel ball are compared from the simulation nonlinear model of DAGS code. The simulation results from DAGS code are in good agreement with measurements. Therefore, the developed model of DAGS code is good analytical tool for estimating tube-to-support dynamic interaction in real heat exchangers.
The rifle impact of human body is affected by geometry of human for rifling. The interaction of human-rifle system influence a firing accuracy. In this paper, impact analysis of human model for standing postures with two B.C. carried out. ADAMS code and LifeMOD is used in impact analysis of human model and modeling of the human body, respectively. On the shooting, human model is affected by rifle impact during the 0.001 second. Also, Because Human Natural frequency is 5-200Hz, human impact is considered during 0.2-0.005 sec. Dut to the Firng test, Performed simulation time for shooting is 0.1 second. Applied constraint condition to human-rifle system is rotating and spherical condition. Also, The resulrt of changin the position of the grip is dfferent from the each other. As the results, The human model of firing was built successfully.
Due to the nature of the existing load, the criteria of assessing the intensity of the lightweight wall's impact resistance has been though of as obscure. The current study, therefore, focuses on the standardized assessment of the impact resistance to the force of the large soft body applying to the lightweight wall. The gypsum board wall showed a low level of the maximum residual displacement. It is, however, required to be careful about the selection of the finishing process since the high level of the maximum displacement is likely to cause harm to finishing materials. Unlike the gypsum board, the ALC block wall displayed a considerable rigidity while showing almost no maximum residual displacement. Even with the low level of the maximum displacement due to the stiffness, the ALC block wall is still likely to be affected by the vibration derived from any impact on the surface, which demands a need for additional study. The future experimental study, accordingly, will focus on the impact of the vibration on finishing materials, consequently leading to the accurate prediction of the possibility of potential damage to the lightweight wall caused by the large soft body.
To develop floor impact sound resilient materials of apartment house effectively, floor impact sound insulation performance test lab. was designed and constructed in T company. Introducing specification and basic performance of this lab. could be helpful in plan and design of another lab. Floor space size of this lab. is $4.2m{\times}5.5m$ and this size is similar with that of living room of usual apartment house's (about $100m^2$) and the height of lab. is 2.4m. Slab thickness is designed by 180mm. Frequency characteristics is similar to general apartment house. Reverberation time of sound receiving room displays 1.26sec in 125Hz by establishing sound-absorbing materials. For light weight impact sound insulation performance of concrete bare floor structure is estimated by $L_{i,AW}\;=\;73$ and for heavy weight is estimated by $L_{i,Fmax,AW}\;=\;50$. Sound pressure level distribution of sound receiving room is ranged very uniformly. With these results, floor impact sound resilient materials could be evaluated and the results could be trusted by comparison tests.
Numerical analysis was performed to investigate the heavy-weight impact noise of apartment houses. The FEM is practical method for prediction of low-frequency indoor noise. The results of numerical analysis, the shape of the acoustic modes in room-2 are similar to that of acoustic pressure field at the fundamental frequency of acoustic modes. And the acoustic pressure was amplified at the natural frequency of the acoustic modes and structural modes. The numerical analysis result of sound pressure level at 63 Hz and 125 Hz octave-band center frequency are similar to the test results, but at 250 Hz and 500 Hz have some errors. Considering most of bang-machine force spectrum exists below 100 Hz, the noise at 250 Hz and 500 Hz are not important for heavy-weight impact noise. Thus, the FEM numerical analysis method for heavy-weight impact noise can apply to estimate heavy-weight impact noise for various building systems.
