The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of the Q-ray view, a novel optical device on reliability of assessing a tooth status by dental hygiene students in the training for dental hygiene process. Twenty patients were enrolled in this study. Oral examinations were conducted by both seventeen third-year dental hygiene students and a trained faculty member. Traditional visual inspection was performed in phase I and then re-examined with Q-ray view in phase II. Restoration codes and lesion codes for each tooth were recorded separately according to the predefined criteria. As a measure of reliability, percent agreement and Cohen's kappa were determined. Agreements for each intraoral regions and types of lesion and restoration were calculated. Paired t-test and Pearson chi-square test for two proportions were used to compare mean Cohen's kappa and percent agreement at each phase. For the lesion code, mean kappa values of phase II for intraoral regions were significantly greater than that of phase I (p=0.017). For the both of the lesion code and restoration code, percent agreements of phase II for each types of lesion and restoration were significantly greater than that of phase II (p<0.001 and p<0.001, respectively). Especially difference of percent agreements between phase I and II for incipient caries, caries and fracture were significant for the lesion code (p=0.046, p<0.001, and p=0.029, respectively) and for not restored or sealed, tooth-colored restoration were significant for the restoration code (p<0.001 and p=0.011, respectively). The reliability of assessing a tooth status was improved when the Q-ray view used in dental hygiene student with beginner level of expertise. Q-ray view can be a promising device for conducting and educating the dental hygiene process better.

In order for efficient recycling and eco-friendly treatment of construction waste, there is a need to apply a building separation and dismantling technique early on in the stage of waste generation. This study was conducted to analyze the relevant domestic circumstances and propose the applicable range of buildings in order to introduce a building separation and dismantling system to Korea. For this purpose, related policies and systems implemented overseas and the current situation of buildings were examined, and the workability of separation and dismantling of buildings according to their uses was compared. Also, the economic impact of the separation and dismantling system was examined and a survey was conducted, seeking the opinions of the relevant companies regarding the need for the system and the selection criteria for eligible buildings. Based on the results, it was determined that it would be impossible to apply the separation and dismantling system to all buildings in Korea, considering the current technical power and economic situation, and that the system should be introduced in phases, according to the building classification determined based on floor area and use, as the cost may vary depending on a number of variables including the level of difficulty and field conditions.

The objective of this study was to develop erosion control dam for preventing disaster in consideration of characteristics of forested catchment near urban area, and to assess its stability and functionality to see its practicability in the field. Two types of hybrid erosion control dams were developed including debris flow prevention dam by using pillar and float board screen type and debris flow control dam by using groyne. Also, review about their static (sliding, overturning, bearing capacity) and dynamic (member force) stability was carried out. According to the result, most of the assessed items met standard safety level although there were some cases where assessed items were short of stability criteria against impact. Also, after miniature flume experiments based on the developed erosion control dam to prove structure function (material catch, deposit), it turned out the dam decreased flow sediment amount and velocity while increasing sediment-capturing capacity by 3.5 times on average compared to the one controlled without erosion control dam. When function of erosion control dam for forested catchment near urban area is quantified based on future flume experiments in a variety of conditions, the dams can be practically used in the urban area, contribution to effectively reducing debris flow damage.

In recent year's we have seen that due to education and social position there has been a significant increase in the number of women engaging in entrepreneurial activities. Concurrently research into the activities of women currently engaged in entrepreneurial activities has increased. This research has focused on the individuals themselves, their motivations and the performance of their ventures but there is not enough systematic research on the subject. Therefore it is necessary expand the criteria of the current research to examine every aspect of how these emergent entrepreneurs operate and to provide others with the same goals the appropriate skills and knowledge needed to succeed. This study wants to identify and evaluate the psychological, environmental and personal characteristics that these women possess and to assess the impact these factors have on the level of their success. This study will focus on those women who were empirical in their methods as this lends itself better to a detailed systematic analysis. It will examine the concept of entrepreneurial self-efficacy with regard to how they searched, planned, marshaled and implemented steps to influence the environmental and personal factors that affected them. In addition the searching phase of entrepreneurial self-efficacy directly influences entrepreneurial motivation and thus performance. The results of this study will suggest that as Korean women's interest in entrepreneurship grows it will have wide reaching theoretical implications and affect the direction of the policy that supports it.

As an increasing demand for rapid railway transportation, the construction of sidetrack is inevitable to operate local and express trains simultaneously. However, the current technologies for the sidetrack construction method require a long construction period by interrupting the operation of the existing subway line, as well as cause a huge economic loss. Thus, it is necessary to study the sidetrack construction method under the special situation that the subway is in operation and to analyze the risk of the existing tunnel enlargement process for the sidetrack construction. Therefore, in this paper, the Government Complex Gwacheon station on Subway Line 4 was considered as a target station for the virtual sidetrack construction and the optimal sidetrack construction plan was derived. Subsequently, the application of risk management process was carried out in the order of identifying risk, risk response planning, performing a risk analysis, risk monitoring and control for potential risk events during the construction of sidetrack under the subway operation. A total of eight potential risk events and risk mitigation methods were selected, and a risk assessment matrix was established using the five-step risk probability and impact level criteria to perform the risk assessment including residual risks. Based on the results of the risk assessment, the risk grade and the reduction effect of each risk mitigation method were confirmed.

Since 1980's there have been two trends that obviously developed in the would -- economics globalization and urban internationalization. China, with is reform and opening-up policy and rapid economic growth, keeps pace with these two trends. The term "International City" has no putative standard or definition. If we make an analogue of urban functional hierarchy in the world with a pyramid, the International Citiesa are the few elites on its top. The highest level international cities can be called "World City" or "Global City". In today's new international division of labor, they are diversified leading cities with control capacity on a world scale, like New York, London, and Tokyo. The secondary international cities are either diversified cities with influence and regulative functions on multinational scale or specialized cities on politics, economics, culture, or other aspects with worldwide impact. Judged by different criteria, there is no city that is qualified as International City with the exception of Hong Kong, which was returned to the P.R. of China in 1997. Nevertheless, Some favorable conditions for the development of the international city still exist in China. This country is already the sixth largest economic entity in the world, and the second largest economic entity in the world, and the second largest one if GNP estimated by ppp. Furthermore its import and export value make up for 40% of its GNP, indicating that China is repidly merging into global economy. In this 1, 2 billion-population country, the difference of economic levels between urban and rural, coastal and inland regions is so big that a few metropolises in the coastal region have the possibilities and potentials to develop into international cities regardless of rather low GNP per capita of the whole country. This article will focus on analysis from several perspectives, such as the proportion of foreign trade values in GDP, the proportion of imports and exports by foreign funded enterprises in total foreign trade value; distribution of the 500 largest foreign-funded enterprises; distribution of the 500 enterprises with largest import and export values; distrigbution of foreign computer and telecom companies with offices in China; the number of outward flights per week and the international tourists; the value of foreign capital used in cities and so on. From this analysis, it is predicted that Chinese international cities will surely emergy from the eastern coastal regions and they must be the core cities of metropolitan interlocking regions that have been formed or in the process of forming. Those international cities will arise from south to north in turn : Hong Kong-Guangzhu, Shanghai, Beijing-Tianjin, and perhaps the last one is Dalian-Shenyang. The other side of this issue is that there is a long way for the coming international cities in China except Hong Kong. At least China and these core cities must continually devote to (1) improve the regional composition of foreign capital sources. (2) improve the composition of export commodities. (3) improve the investment environment (including hard and soft environment) to attract more transnational corporations to settle. (4) deepen the reform of state-owned enterprises and establish Chinese own transnational corporations to enter the world market.ons to enter the world market.

Some of the possible effects of revitalizing school libraries are improved personality education and an acquisition of the basic, as well as cultural, knowledge through expanded reading opportunities. The goal of school education is to increase the students' intellectual quality by providing structured education curriculums. In order to meet this goal, there has been increased interest in ways to enhance academic achievements or to increase the cognitive level of the students. In this study, we focused on the effects of school libraries on learning capabilities. To measure the learning capabilities, we used academic achievements as the evaluation criteria. Based on the statistical analysis, we found that the collection types and the reasons for using school libraries influenced the academic achievements more than the frequency of using school libraries. However, the influences of economic and social factors were too great in comparison to other factors. This paradoxically shows the importance of public education and the school libraries' role in education in general. In summary, school libraries should provide good quality reading experiences as well as methods to collect, manage, and use information to the students. These efforts will positively impact the academic achievements of the students.
City tour service has a function not only informs tourists of historical and cultural resources in the city but also contributes to improving city image making. In this study, a questionnaire was surveyed to tourists who used Suwon city tour to find out which factors make affect their intention to re-visit or recommendation to others. Structural equation model was constructed and set a hypothesis that overall city tour satisfaction would have a positive effect. The fitness of the final model was found out to be meet the statistical criteria. As a result of the final model, both satisfaction of guide and satisfaction of city tour operation were significant at 5% significance level (P<0.01). On the other hand, both satisfaction of bus facility and of promotion, customer service were statistically insignificant. Consequently, City tour service satisfaction was found to effect to the intention of re-visit and recommendation. Especially, The higher the satisfaction of guide and city tour operation, the more tendency to recommend. It is expected that local government which operates city tour bus could take advantage of this result in the future.

Crash cushions are protective devices that prevent errant vehicles from impacting on fixed objects. This function is accomplished by gradually decelerating a vehicle to a safe stop in a relatively short distance. Commonly used crash cushions generally employ one of two concepts to accomplish this function. The first concept involves the absorption of the kinetic energy of a moving vehicle by crushable or plastically deformable materials and the other one involves the transfer of the momentum of a moving vehicle to an expendable mass of material located in the vehicle's path. Crash cushions using the first concept are generally referred to as compression crash cushions and crash cushions using the other concept are generally referred to as inertial crash cushion. The objective of this research is the development of a compression-type crash cushion by employing the two concepts simultaneously. To minimize the number of full-scale crash tests for the development of the crash cushion, preliminary design guide considering inertial and frictional energy absorption was constructed and computer simulation was performed. LS-DYNA program, which is most widely used to analyze roadside safety features, was used for the computer simulation. The developed crash cushion satisfied the safety evaluation criteria for various impact conditions of CC2 performance level in the Korean design guide.
The Korean Ministry of the Environment revised a few sections of the regulations in the Law of indoor air quality management for the reinforcement or adjustment of the regulation criteria standard for releasing pollutants from building materials. Especially, in case of sealant, the contents covering liquid building materials, excess standards and testing methods have been added simultaneously in this revision, As a result it is impossible to compare original standards with revised standards directly. For this reason, this study reviewed revised test method of sealant pollutant emission rates in terms of impact and validity in comparison with the original test method. Through this study, the basic properties of revised pollutant emission control standards was assessed. Especially in sealant, since each product has a wide deviation of time required for complete drying, it is proved that there are a large number of products that are not hardened completely in test time. The result of our experiments on the revised test methods showed that this revised test methods yield emission rates that are two and half times less than those of the original testing method. To apply the revised test method of sealant to all the sealant products, It is necessary to extend the test period or improve specimen to fit the test method for quickly drying sealant products.
