  • The goal of this study is to see if the Coronavirus affects the Top 10 most valuable brands in various ASEAN countries (Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Vietnam) and industry types differently. The data for this study was collected using a secondary data method (content analysis). Based on their annual reports from 2019 to 2021, the researchers examined the brand equity of the Top 10 most valued brands in each of the four ASEAN countries. IBM Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) Statistics for Windows was used to examine the data. Frequency, an independent T-test, and one-way analysis of variance tests were also applied to the data. The findings revealed considerable disparities between the Top 10 most valued ASEAN country brands in 2019-2020 and 2019-2021 due to the impact of the Coronavirus. Due to the influence of the Coronavirus, the data revealed no significant differences between industry categories. Future studies could look into the disparities between the most valuable brands and the influence of the Coronavirus over a longer period of time and include a larger number of firms and countries. Brand managers in ASEAN countries' Top 10 most valuable companies must carefully manage their brands to preserve brand life and reduce the impact of future global pandemics.

  • The application of the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology to assess the environmental impact of rapeseed cultivation in winter fallow after harvesting rice was investigated and compared with barley cultivation in crop rotation system. Data for input materials were collected and analyzed by 1 ton rapeseed and barley as functional unit. For the Life Cycle Impact Assessment (LCIA) the Eco-indicator 95 method has been chosen because this is well documented and regularly applied impact method. From the comparison of impact categories such as greenhouse effect, ozone depletion, acidification, heavy metals, carcinogens, summer smog, and energy resources for 1 ton of final product, emission potential from rapeseed was higher than that from barley. The range from 65 to 96% of these potential came from chemical fertilizer. On the other hand, eutrophication potential from barley was higher than that from rapeseed, mainly came from utilizing the chemical fertilizer. During the cultivation of barley and rape, environmental burden by heavy metals was evaluated by 0.5 Pt, larger than points from other impact categories. The sum of points from all impact categories in barley and rapeseed was calculated to be 0.78 Pt and 0.82 Pt, respectively. From the sensitivity analysis for barley and rapeseed, scenario 1 (crop responses to fertilization level) showed the environmental burden was continuously increased with the amount of fertilization in barley cultivation, while it was not increased only at the optimum crop responses to fertilization in rapeseed (R3). With these results, rapeseed cultivation in winter fallow paddy contributed to the amounts of environmental burden much more than barley cultivation. It is, however, highly determined that environmental weighted point resulted from evaluating both cultivation was not significantly different.

  • Analysis of scars in various conditions is essential, but no consensus had been reached on the scar assessment scale to select for a given condition. We reviewed papers to determine the scar assessment scale selected depending on the scar condition and treatment method. We searched PubMed for articles published since 2000 with the contents of the scar evaluation using a scar assessment scale with a Journal Citation Report impact factor >0.5. Among them, 96 articles that conducted a scar evaluation using a scar assessment scale were reviewed and analyzed. The scar assessment scales were identified and organized by various criteria. Among the types of scar assessment scales, the Patient and Observer Scar Assessment Scale (POSAS) was found to be the most frequently used scale. As for the assessment of newly developed operative scars, the POSAS was most used. Meanwhile, for categories depending on the treatment methods for preexisting scars, the Vancouver Scar Scale (VSS) was used in 6 studies following a laser treatment, the POSAS was used in 7 studies following surgical treatment, and the POSAS was used in 7 studies following a conservative treatment. Within the 12 categories of scar status, the VSS showed the highest frequency in 6 categories and the POSAS showed the highest frequency in the other 6 categories. According to our reviews, the POSAS and VSS are the most frequently used scar assessment scales. In the future, an optimal, universal scar scoring system is needed in order to better evaluate and treat pathologic scarring.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to classify the quality factors of chicken restaurant customers with the service quality based on the SERVQUAL, the quality factors based on the selection attributes and service qualities of chicken restaurants used in the previous studies. Research design, data, and methodology - This survey was carried out on the students of Kangwon University in Samchuk City, Kangwon Province from November 20 - November 30, 2017, and a total of 260 questionnaires were distributed, with 222 collected. Of them, effective questionnaires applied in the final study were a total of 193 except 29 that couldn't be used. Results - The findings of this study are as follows: Firstly, chicken restaurants' quality factors were divided into seven categories like cleanliness, service encounter quality, product quality, aesthetics, overall interior, purchase quality, and convenience. Secondly, it showed that service encounter quality, purchase quality, and cleanliness had a positive impact on customer satisfaction, respectively. Thirdly, it showed that service encounter quality, purchase quality, and cleanliness had a positive impact on trust, respectively. Fourthly, it showed that customer satisfaction had a positive impact on behavioral intention. Additionally, it suggested that customer satisfaction of chicken restaurant consumers had a positive impact on behavioral intention and thereby, higher customer satisfaction leads to higher levels of reuse and recommendation intention. Lastly, after checking the effect relations of trust between customer satisfaction about chicken restaurant and behavioral intention, it was analyzed that customer satisfaction has a positive impact on trust and trust has a positive impact on behavioral intention. On the other hand, it showed that trust have a partially mediating effect in the relations between customer satisfaction and behavioral intention. But, it showed that product quality, aesthetics, overall interior, purchase quality, and convenience did not have a positive impact on customer satisfaction. Conclusions - Chicken restaurant consumers put more priority on friendly and good services of chicken restaurant staff in service encounter and delivery order, rather than on reasonable price and discount systems. Thereby, chicken restaurant marketers need to take factors like service encounter quality, cleanliness into more consideration.

  • This paper consider trinomial group testing concerned with classification of N given units into one of k disjoint categories. In this paper, we propose Bayesian inference for estimating individual category proportions using the trinomial group testing model proposed by Bar-Lev et al. (2005). We compared a relative efficience (RE) based on the mean squared error (MSE) of MLE and Bayes estimators with various prior information. The impact of different prior specifications on the estimates is also investigated using selected prior distribution. The impact of different priors on the Bayes estimates is modest when the sample size and group size we large.

  • For the Han-river estuary and DMZ where white-naped crane (Grus vipio; endangered migratory bird) stopover or spend winter, the habitat composition and the habitat use pattern of white-naped crane were analyzed with the position data obtained by the satellite tracking method. By the use of geographic information system (GIS), the percent composition of seven habitat categories of white naped-crane data points (n=228) was analyzed. The chi-square test showed that the white-naped crane habitat use pattern was significantly different (p<0.05) from that of random points (n=228). It means that white-naped crane select and use particular habitat area in the Han-river estuary and DMZ.
