This paper presents the modeling and validation of a pile-driver breech fatigue testing system model to replicate actual high pressure in a large caliber gun barrel. A hysteresis damping function was incorporated in the nonlinear impact force model. Test of real pile-driver breech fatigue testing system had been performed for model validation. Comparison of the experimental result and model simulation during impact were made. Numerical studies were performed to evaluate how the actual chamber pressure pattern in the live firing of gun barrel was affected by parameters' variation. Some of the parameters simulated included input velocity, damping coefficient and stiffness. As a result, a variety of actual chamber pressure pattern could be reproduced and controlled through current simulation model.

Investigations of large commercial aircraft impact effect on nuclear power plant (NPP) buildings have been drawing extensive attentions, particularly after the 9/11 event, and this paper aims to numerically assess the damage and vibrations of NPP buildings subjected to aircrafts crash. In Part I of present paper, two shots of reduce-scaled model test of aircraft impact on NPP were conducted based on the large rocket sled loading test platform. In the present part, the numerical simulations of both scaled and prototype aircraft impact on NPP buildings are further performed by adopting the commercial program LS-DYNA. Firstly, the refined finite element (FE) models of both scaled aircraft and NPP models in Part I are established, and the model impact test is numerically simulated. The validities of the adopted numerical algorithm, constitutive model and the corresponding parameters are verified based on the experimental NPP model damages and accelerations. Then, the refined simulations of prototype A380 aircraft impact on a hypothetical NPP building are further carried out. It indicates that the NPP building can totally withstand the impact of A380 at a velocity of 150 m/s, while the accompanied intensive vibrations may still lead to different levels of damage on the nuclear related equipment. Referring to the guideline NEI07-13, a maximum acceleration contour is plotted and the shock damage propagation distances under aircraft impact are assessed, which indicates that the nuclear equipment located within 11.5 m from the impact point may endure malfunction. Finally, by respectively considering the rigid and deformable impacts mainly induced by aircraft engine and fuselage, an improved Riera function is proposed to predict the impact force of aircraft A380.
This paper describes the results of experiments and numerical simulation studies on the impact and indentation damage created by low-velocity impact subjected onto honeycomb sandwich panels for application to the BIMODAL tram. The test panels were subjected to low-velocity impact loading using an instrumented testing machine at six energy levels. Contact force histories as a function of time were evaluated and compared. The extent of the damage and depth of the permanent indentation was measured quantitatively using a 3-dimensional scanner. An explicit finite element analysis based on LS-DYNA3D was focused on the introduction of a material damage model and numerical simulation of low-velocity impact responses on honeycomb sandwich panels. Extensive material testing was conducted to determine the input parameters for the metallic and composite face-sheet materials and the effective equivalent damage model for the orthotropic honeycomb core material. Good agreement was obtained between numerical and experimental results; in particular, the numerical simulation was able to predict impact damage area and the depth of indentation of honeycomb sandwich composite panels created by the impact loading.
A loose part monitoring system is used to detect unexpected loose parts in a reactor coolant system in a nuclear power plant. It is still necessary to develop a new methodology for the localization and mass estimation of loose parts owing to the high estimation error of conventional methods. In addition, model-based diagnostics recently emphasized the importance of a model describing the behavior of a mechanical system or component. The purpose of this study is to propose a new localization and mass-estimation method based on finite element analysis (FEA) and optimization technique. First, an FEA model to simulate the propagation behavior of the bending wave generated by a metal sphere impact is validated by performing an impact test and a corresponding FEA and optimization for a downsized steam-generator structure. Second, a novel methodology based on FEA and optimization technique was proposed to estimate the impact location and mass of a loose part at the same time. The usefulness of the methodology was then validated through a series of FEAs and some blind tests. A new feature vector, the cross-correlation function, was also proposed to predict the impact location and mass of a loose part, and its usefulness was then validated. It is expected that the proposed methodology can be utilized in model-based diagnostics for the estimation of impact parameters such as the mass, velocity, and impact location of a loose part. In addition, the FEA-based model can be used to optimize the sensor position to improve the collected data quality in the site of nuclear power plants.

The rifle impact of human body is affected by geometry of human for rifling. The interaction of human-rifle system influence a firing accuracy. In this paper, impact analysis of human model for standing postures with two B.C. carried out. ADAMS code and LifeMOD is used in impact analysis of human model and modeling of the human body, respectively. On the shooting, human model is affected by rifle impact during the 0.001 second. Also, Because Human Natural frequency is 5-200Hz, human impact is considered during 0.2-0.005 sec. Dut to the Firng test, Performed simulation time for shooting is 0.1 second. Applied constraint condition to human-rifle system is rotating and spherical condition. Also, The resulrt of changin the position of the grip is dfferent from the each other. As the results, The human model of firing was built successfully.
To investigate numerically the effect of all parameters on the outcome of an aircraft impact into robust engineering structures like nuclear power plant containments is a tedious task. In order to reduce the problem to a manageable size, we propose a single dimensionless parameter, the damage potential, to characterize the main features of the impact. The damage potential, which is the ratio of the initial kinetic energy of the aircraft to the work required to crush it, enables us to find the crucial parameter settings that need to be modelled numerically in detail. We show in this paper that the damage potential is indeed the most important parameter of the impact that determines the time-dependent reaction force when either finite element (FE) modelling or the Riera model is applied. We find that parameters that do not alter the damage potential, like elasticity of the target, are of secondary importance and if parameters are altered in a way that the damage potential remains the same then the course of the impact remains similar. We show, however, that the maximum value of the reaction force can be higher in case of elastic targets than in case of rigid targets due to the vibration of the target. The difference between the Riera and FE model results is also found to depend on the damage potential.
A new concept of ammunition without the use of explosive gunpowder has been recently studied, which achieves performance equal to or higher than that of high explosives. Frangible Armor Piercing (FAP) is one of the concepts, which utilizes a tungsten alloy penetrator specialized for fragmentation. To investigate the fracture behavior of the tungsten alloy penetrator, Taylor impact tests were conducted at various impact velocities. Additionally, finite element analysis was performed to predict the fracture behavior of the tungsten alloy. Compression tests were also carried out at six strain rates for dynamic material properties and the dynamic hardening behavior was successfully predicted with the Lim-Huh model. Finally, the Mohr-Coulomb fracture model based on the mean stress was adopted to predict impact failure in Taylor impact simulation. The analysis predicts the deformation and fracture behaviors of the tungsten alloy successfully.

As the technology convergence paradigm emerges, the need for "CIA techniques" to analyze the mutual effects of technology is increasing. However, since the CIA input parameter estimation is difficult, the present study suggests a "CIA input parameter setting model" to alleviate the difficulty of CIA input parameter estimation. This paper is focused on the difference of measurement difficulty by each scale which expert's estimation behavior was defined as measurement activity quantifying the judgment of future technology. Therefore, this model is designed to estimate the input variable as a sequence or isometric scale that is relatively easy to measure, and then converts it into a probability value. The input parameter setting model of the CIA technique consists of three sub-models : 'probability value derivation model', 'influence estimation model', and 'impact value calculation model', in order to develop a series of models the Thurstone V model, Regression Analysis, etc has been used.

In order to enhance the aviation industry in Korea, many strategies have been published by some researchers as well as the government. However, considering the constrained conditions in real, since the ranking of their importance has not determined yet, they are difficult to be implemented by decision makers. Therefore, in terms of their demand for deciding the significance of strategies, the evaluation model of this paper was developed. In this study, the Cross-impact Hierarchy Process(CHP), an linked model of both the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) and Cross Impact Analysis(CIA), was selected as the best model. That is because the strategies are not independent from each other, and one strategy can affect the others depending on its realization, which can be considered in CHP. To achieve our objective, at first, the strategies were categorized and arranged according to the evaluation structure. Secondly, the parameters such as conditional probability and weights were estimated from the survey conducted by 16 experts in the aviation field. Lastly, the result of the assessment were discussed, and further studies were suggested.
The study aims to determine the impact of quality outcomes on behavior intentions in Financial Technology (FinTech) payment services. The study is focused on the development and testing of the impact of the SERVQUAL model on the TAM, i.e., Technology Acceptance Model for the measurement of the behavioral intention of users to use fintech payment services. The sample entails 578 specific survey responses from northern India from October to December 2022. The respondents were users of FinTech. The PLS-SEM technique was employed to explain the implementation process. Consequently, it discovered a significant relationship between the SERVQUAL models and the impact on behavioral intentions identified by TAM. The study will provide insight into the factors that impact the quality outcomes and adoption of Fintech payment services to the providers. The paper demystifies FinTech payment services in the range of perception of service quality outcomes and provides essential theories. The TAM model reflects the customer's sense of satisfaction, usefulness, and attitude. In contrast, the SERVQUAL model demonstrates the user's assessment of service quality outcomes such as quality, trust, security, and service quality positively affects behavioral intention in FinTech payment services.
