Today, the use of special technologies in the admixture of concrete has made tremendous progress, but the problem that has always existed in the construction of concrete members is the brittleness and lack of loading bearing after cracking, which leads to reduced strength and energy absorption. One of the best ways to fix this is to reinforce the concrete with steel fibers. Steel fibers also control cracks due to dry shrinkage, reduce structural crack width, and improve impact resistance. In this study, recycled steel fibers from worn tires have been used in the manufacture of concrete samples, the secondary benefits of which are the reduction of environmental pollution. One of the disadvantages of steel fiber reinforced concrete is the corrosion of steel fibers and their deterioration in harsh environments such as coastal areas. Corrosion caused by chlorine ions in metal fibers causes deterioration and early decommissioning of structures in corrosive environments. In this study, the effect of the dosage of steel fibers (dosages of 15, 30, and 45 kg of fibers per cubic meter of concrete) and aspect ratio of fibers (aspect ratio of 25 and 50) on compressive and flexural strength of concrete samples are investigated. In the following, the effect of fiber corrosion on the results of the mechanical properties of concrete samples is examined. The results show that the increase in fiber causes a relative increase in compressive strength, and a significant increase in flexural strength, and corrosion of steel fibers without reducing workability reduces compressive strength and flexural strength by up to 6 to 11%, respectively.

Consistent efforts have been made to reduce the weight of automotive parts by using lightweight materials. This has resulted in the replacement of conventional steels in car body structures with high-strength steels, and the current usage rate has reached 50%. This study examines the structural stiffness and energy absorption capability of bumper beams made of high-strength steels. New types of bumper beam cross sections are proposed. The structural stiffness and maximum bending force were computed via finite element analysis as about 25tons and 7.5tons/mm, and there were no significant differences among the proposedcross sections. Dynamic analysis was also carried out to investigate the energy absorption capabilities of the bumper beams, and the effects of materials and thickness reduction were analyzed. High-strength steel can be used to achieve weight reduction with comparable structural performance to conventional bumper beams.
We have synthesized a new green Ir(III) complex fac-tris-(3-methyl-2-phenyl pyridine)iridium(III) $Ir(mpp)_3$ and fabricated phosphorescent polymer light-emitting device using it as a triplet emissive dopant in PVK. $Ir(mpp)_3$ showed absorption centered at 388 nm corresponding to the $^1MLCT$ transition as .evidenced by its extinction coefficient of the order of $10^3{\cdot}$ From the PL and EL spectra of the $Ir(mpp)_3$ doped PVK film, the emission maximum was observed at 523 nm, due to the radiative decay from the $^3MLCT$ state to the ground state, confirming a complete energy transfer from PVK to $Ir(mpp)_3$. The methyl substitution has probably caused a red shift in the absorption and emission spectrum compared to $Ir(mpp)_3$. The device consisting of a 2 % doped PVK furnished 4.5 % external quantum efficiency at 72 $cd/m^2$ (current density of 0.45 $mA/cm^2$ and drive voltage of 13.9 V) and a peak luminance of 25,000 $cd/m^2$ at 23.4 V (494 $mA/cm^2$). This work demonstrates the impact of the presence of a methyl substituent at the 3-position of the pyridyl ring of 2-phenylpyridine on the photophysical and electroluminescence properties.
In this paper, the single and multi-objective optimization of thin-walled conical tubes with different types of indentations under axial impact has been investigated using surrogate models called metamodels. The geometry of tapered thin-walled tubes has been studied in order to achieve maximum specific energy absorption (SEA) and minimum peak crushing force (PCF). The height, radius, thickness, tapered angle of the tube, and the radius of indentation have been considered as design variables. Based on the design of experiments (DOE) method, the generated sample points are computed using the explicit finite element code. Different surrogate models including Kriging, Feed Forward Neural Network (FNN), Radial Basis Neural Network (RNN), and Response Surface Modelling (RSM) comprised to evaluate the appropriation of such models. The comparison study between surrogate models and the exploration of indentation shapes have been provided. The obtained results show that the RNN method has the minimum mean squared error (MSE) in training points compared to the other methods. Meanwhile, optimization based on surrogate models with lower values of MSE does not provide optimum results. The RNN method demonstrates a lower crashworthiness performance (with a lower value of 125.7% for SEA and a higher value of 56.8% for PCF) in comparison to RSM with an error order of $10^{-3}$. The SEA values can be increased by 17.6% and PCF values can be decreased by 24.63% by different types of indentation. In a specific geometry, higher SEA and lower PCF require triangular and circular shapes of indentation, respectively.
In this paper, an experimental investigation is carried out to assess the inherent self-compacting properties of geopolymer mortar and its impact on flexural strength of thin-walled ferro-geopolymer box beam. The inherent self-compacting properties of the optimal mix of normal geopolymer mortar was studied and compared with self-compacting cement mortar. To assess the flexural strength of box beams, a total of 3 box beams of size 1500 mm × 200 mm × 150 mm consisting of one ferro-cement box beam having a wall thickness of 40 mm utilizing self-compacting cement mortar and two ferro-geopolymer box beams with geopolymer mortar by varying the wall thickness between 40 mm and 50 mm were moulded. The ferro-cement box beam was cured in water and ferro-geopolymer box beams were cured in heat chamber at 75℃ - 80℃ for 24 hours. After curing, the specimens are subjected to flexural testing by applying load at one-third points. The result shows that the ultimate load carrying capacity of ferro-geopolymer and ferro-cement box beams are almost equal. In addition, the stiffness of the ferro-geoploymer box beam is reduced by 18.50% when compared to ferro-cement box beam. Simultaneously, the ductility index and energy absorption capacity are increased by 88.24% and 30.15%, respectively. It is also observed that the load carrying capacity and stiffness of ferro-geopolymer box beams decreases when the wall thickness is increased. At the same time, the ductility and energy absorption capacity increased by 17.50% and 8.25%, respectively. Moreover, all of the examined beams displayed a shear failure pattern.
This study was performed to investigation the effect of austempering temperature on the mecanical properties and fracture Characteristic of the ductile cast iron with contains Cu and Mo. The obtained results of this study were as follows; Microstructure of austemped ductile cast iron obtained by austempering were low bainite with some martensite at $250^{\circ}C$, mixture of low and upper bainite at $300^{\circ}C$ and upper bainite at $350^{\circ}C$. With increasing austempering temperature, yield strength, tensile strength and hardness decreased, while the elongation and impact absorption energy increased. With increasing austempering temperature, fracture toughness value increased and mainly controlled by bolume fraction of retained austenite. The volume fraction of retained austenite increased and the fracture surface obtained fibrous and dimple with increasing austempering temperature.

During recent years, the durability of concrete structures has been considered in concret practice and material research. To preserve the brittleness of concrete as well as energy absorption and impact resistance, amount of fiber usage has greatly increased in the field of public works. Ultra fine powder, silica fume, mixed into concrete, it reduce void of concrete structure. Especially, there's a great effect for strength improvement of concrete by initial pozzolanic reactions. For these reasons, if silica fume mixed into concrete, it decrease the total void by microfilter effect . Pozzolan reaction, between cement particle and silica powder, can elaborate the micro structure of matrix. And so, in this paper, we deal SFRC for the purpose of efficiently using of industrial by-products(silica fume). Also we performed the test for durability such as freeze-thaw resistance and accelerated carbonation of SFRC using silica fume.
Todays, crash safety requirements of the railway vehicle structures become important design criterion according to the increased driving speed and the lightweight construction. Although the crash analysis using computer simulation can be effectively applied to predict the crash performance of the railway vehicles in the early design stage, the optimized design w.r.t the crash safety could be realized by the crash tests with actual prototype vehicles. However, it is very expensive and time-consuming task to perform the crash test of the railway vehicles. As a measure to cope with the problem, in this paper, the scale modeling technique is suggested and experimentally verified to predict the impact energy absorption characteristics of full scale model of aluminum extrusions sub-structures and the high-speed railway vehicle structure.

A bumper comprises a bumper cover, a bumper beam for distributing the load from the impacts applied to the bumper cover and reinforcing the bumper, an absorber member interposed between the bumper cover and tile bumper beam, and a pair of bumper stays which secure the bumper beam to the vehicle body. A conventional bumper stay structure is assembled into several stamped parts, so several processes are needed and the structure is complicated. In this study the bumper stay is applied to the tubular hydroforming which is known to have several advantages such as the reduction of the number of the process and the part weight. The thickness distribution of the tube is mainly considered to evaluate the hydro-formability and the shape of the tube is determined.
