  • The Kinetics velocity for hydrolysis reaction of vanillylidene imine derivatives has been measured by ultra-violet ray spectrophotometer in 20wt% $dioxane-H_2O$ at $25^{\circ}C$. It was measured the reaction rate Constant of vanillylidene imine derivatives that can be applied widely following to pH-change at $25^{\circ}C$. Final products that hydrolyzed the vanillylidene imine certified in vanillin and aniline derivative, and the effect of substitution radical that has affected on hydrolysis reaction was largely promoted to reaction rate by electron attrating group in acidity and electron donoring group in basic. From the results of rate constant to hydrolysis reaction, substituent radical effect and final products. It has certified the hydrolysis reaction mechanism of vanillylidene imine derivatives.

The Fluorescence Behavior of the Responsive Macrocycle by Aromatic Imine Molecules

  • The macrocycle L exhibited a switch on-off behavior through the fluorescent responses by aromatic imine molecule 1 (X=H) / trifluoroacetic acid (TFA). In the 'switch on' state, it was supposed that the aromatic imine molecule 1 is in the cavity of macrocycle L and a photoinduced electron transfer (PET) from the nitrogen of azacrown part to the anthryl group is inhibited by the interaction between the aromatic imine molecule 1 and the azacrown part of macrocycle L. In the 'switch off' state, it was supposed that the protonated imine molecule 1 is induced by the continuous addition of TFA and a repulsion between the protonated azacrown part and the protonated imine molecule 1 is occurred. It was considered that this process induces the intermolecular PET from the protonated imine molecule 1 to the anthryl group of macrocycle L because of a proximity effect between the anthryl group and the protonated imine molecule 1. From the investigation of the transient emission decay curve, the macrocycle L showed three components (3.45 ns (79.72%), 0.61 ns (14.53%), and 0.10 ns (5.75%). When the imine molecule 1 was added in the macrocycle L as molar ratio=1:1, the first main component showed a little longer lifetime as 3.68 ns (82.75%) although the other two components were similar as 0.64 ns (14.28%) and 0.08 ns (2.96%). On the contrary, when the imine molecule 3 (X=C1) was added in the macrocycle L as molar ratio=l:1, all the three components were decreased such as 3.27 ns (69.83%), 0.44 ns (13.24%), and 0.06 ns (16.93%). The fluorescent pH titration of macrocycle L was carried out from pH=3 to pH=9. The macrocycle L and C $U^{2+}$- macrocycle L complex were intersected at about pH=5, while the E $u^{3+}$ -macrocycle L complex was intersected at about pH=5.5. In addtion, we investigated the fluorescence change of macrocycle L as a function of the substituent constant ($\sigma$$_{p}$$^{o}$) showing in the para-substituent with electron withdrawing groups (X=F, Cl) and electron donating groups (X=C $H_3$, OC $H_3$, N(C $H_3$)$_2$), respectively, as well as non-substituent (X=H).).ctively, as well as non-substituent (X=H).

  • We report herein synthetic results obtained six new types of bis-benzocrown ethers containing imine group. Bis crown ethers1~3 are aminobenzo-15-crown-5-ether linked with terephthalaldehyde, isophthalaldehyde, phthaldehyde respectively by imine reaction. Bis crown ethers1~3 are different distances in each crown ether rings. Bis crown ether 4 has large cavity in crown ethers. Functionalized crown ether 5 is synthesized amonobenzo-15-crown-5-ether and terephthaladehyde same ratio at one to one. Bis crown ether 6 has photosensitive linkage between crown ethers. Bis crown ether 7 is prepared by amonobenzo-15-crown-5-ether and triethyl ortho formate. 4'-Nitrobenzo-crown ethers and 3',4'-dinitrobenzo-crown ethers were prepared by nitration of benzo crown ethers, obtained from the reaction of catechol and oligoethylene glycol ditosylate. Crown ethers containing aldehyde group were synthesized from the reaction of 3,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde and corresponding ditosylate respectively. The synthesized crown ethers were characterized respectively by IR, NMR, GC-Mass.

  • The complex formation of branched poly(ethylene imine) (BPEI) with bivalent transition metal ions, such as Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II), have been investigated in terms of visible absorption and pH titration methods in an aqueous solution in 0.1M KCl at 30${\circ}$. The stability constants for M(II)-BPEI complexes was calculated with the modified Bjerrum method. The formation curves of M(II)-BPEI complexes showed that Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) ions formed coordination compounds with four, two, two, and two ethylene imine group, respectively. In the case of Cu(II)-BPEI complex at pH 3.4 ∼ 3.8, ${\lambda}_{max}$ was shifted to the red region with a decrease in the acidity. The overall stability constants (log $K_2$) increased as the following order, Co(II) < Cu(II) < Ni(II) < Fe(II).

  • Various dienamide derivatives were synthesized in reasonable yields from benzonitriles having an amide moiety at the ortho-position, via the sequential (i) In-mediated allylation of nitrile moiety to form an imine intermediate, (ii) intramolecular quenching of an acyl group by the imine intermediate, and (iii) a proton transfer to dienamide.

  • Laser-induced Raman spectroscopy has been utilized to demonstrate its feasibility for studying the kinetics of imine formation in chloroform solvent. The imine formation, by the nucleophilic addition of primary amine to the carbonyl group of ketone, has been monitored at ten minute intervals for eight hours. The intensity of the C=O stretching mode at 1684 $cm^{-1}$ was measured to determine the rate constant of the reaction. In order to correct the sample-to-sample fluctuations in Raman peak area, this peak was normalized to the C-Cl bending peak at 666 $cm^{-1}$. By the peak area change during the course of reaction, the second order rates at three different temperatures have been determined. The substituent effects on the π conjugations of imine product have also been investigated. On the basis of Raman frequency shifts, the delocalization properties of the aromatic system modified by substitution of a hydrogen atom with -Cl and $-CH_3O$ groups could be clearly understood.

  • Panel level packaging (PLP) 공정은 차세대 반도체 패키징 기술로써 wafer level packaging 대비 net die 면적이 넓어 생산 단가 절감에 유리하다. PLP 공정에 적용되는 구리 재배선 층 (RDL, redistribution layer)은 두께 불균일도에 의해 전기 저항의 유동이 민감하게 변화하기 때문에 RDL의 두께를 균일하게 형성하는 것은 신뢰성 측면에서 매우 중요하다. 구리 RDL은 주로 도금 공정을 통해 형성되며, 균일한 도금막 형성을 위해 도금조에 평탄제를 첨가하여 도금 속도를 균일하게 한다. 도금막에 대한 흡착은 주로 평탄제의 imine 작용기에 포함된 질소 원자가 관여하며, imine 작용기의 4차화에 의한 평탄제의 흡착 정도를 제어하여 평탄제 성능을 개선할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 도금 평탄제에 포함된 imine 작용기의 질소 원자를 4차화하여 구리 RDL의 도금 두께 불균일도를 제어하고자 하였다. 유기첨가제와 4차화 반응을 위해 알킬화제로써 dimethyl sulfate의 비율을 조절하여 각각 0, 50, 100 %로 4차화 반응을 진행하였다. 평탄제의 4차화 여부를 확인하기 위해 gel permeation chromatography (GPC) 분석을 실시하였다. 도금은 20 ~ 200 um의 다양한 배선 폭을 갖는 구리 RDL 미세패턴에서 진행하였으며, 4차화 평탄제를 첨가하여 광학 현미경과 공초점 레이저 현미경을 통해 도금막 표면과 두께에 대한 분석을 실시하였다. GPC 분석을 통해 4차화 반응 후 알킬화제에 의해 나타나는 GPC peak이 감소한 것을 확인하였다. 광학 현미경 및 공초점 레이저 현미경 분석 결과, 4차화된 질소 원자가 존재하지 않는 평탄제의 경우, 도금 시 도금막의 두께가 불균일하였으며 단면 분석 시 dome 형태가 관찰되었다. 또한 100 % 4차화를 실시한 평탄제를 첨가하여 도금 한 경우 마찬가지로 두께가 불균일한 dish 형태의 도금막이 형성되었다. 반면, 50 % 4차화를 적용한 평탄제를 첨가한 경우, 도금막 단면의 형태는 평평한 모습을 보였으며 매우 양호한 균일도를 가지는 것으로 확인되었다. 이로 인해 imine 작용기를 포함한 평탄제의 4차화 반응을 통해 구리 RDL의 단면 형상 및 불균일도가 제어되는 것을 확인하였으며, 4차화된 imine 작용기의 비율을 조절하여 높은 균일도를 갖는 구리 RDL 도금이 가능한 것으로 판단되었다.

  • The kinetics of the acid-catalyzed hydrolysis of a series of 1-aryl-2-pyrrylideneaniline (3) have been studied in 20% MeOH solution using UV spectrophotometer. Substituents in 3 showed a relatively small effect, with hydrolysis facilitated by electron withdrawing group. By obtaing linear plots of $log k_{obs}$ against Hammett ${\sigma}$ constants, it was able to show that substituents had a considerable contribution to the aromaticity of pyrrole compounds. The small positive ${\rho}$ values were consistent with the rate-determining addition of water to the protonated schiff base in the buffer solution of pH 4 to 8, whereas the addition of water to the free imine seemed to be the rate-determining in the solution of acidities greater than pH 8.

  • Some nickel(Ⅱ) and palladium(Ⅱ) complexes of the ambidentate ligands derived from condensation of the isonitrosoacetylacetone and various diamines, $Ni(IAA)_2-en$, $Ni(IAA)_2-pn$, $Ni(IAA)_2-tn$, $Pd(IAA)_2-en$, PdCl(IAA)-pn, and $Pd(IAA)_2$-tn, where (IAA)$_2$-en, $(IAA)_2$-tn, and (IAA)-pn represent N,N'-enthylenbis(isonitrosoacetylacetone imine), N,N'-propylenebis(isonitrosoacetylacetone imine), N,N'-trimethylenebis(isonitrosoacetylacetone imine) and N-(2-aminopropyl)isonitrosoacetylacetone imine, respectively, have been prepared. The nickel(Ⅱ) and palladium(Ⅱ) complexes were characterized on the bases of the elemental analysis, IR, NMR, and electronic spectra. It is suggested that a isonitroso group of (IAA)$_2$-en or (IAA)$_2$-tn coordinates to the metal ion through the nitrogen atom to form five-membered ring, while the other isonitroso group of (IAA)$_2$-en or (IAA)$_2$-tn coordinates to the metal ion through the oxygen atom to form six membered ring in square-planar complexes of Ni(IAA)$_2$-tn and Pd(IAA)$_2$-en. And two isonitroso groups of (IAA)$_2$-en, (IAA)$_2$-pn, or (IAA)$_2$-tn coordinate to the metal ion through the nitrogen atom to form five-membered rings in square-planar complexes of Ni(IAA)$_2$-en, Ni(IAA)$_2$-pn, and Pd(IAA)$_2$-tn. On the other hand, square-planar PdCl(IAA)-pn is formed by the reaction of propylenediamine with a isonitrosoacetylacetone in the presence of palladium(Ⅱ)ion.
