Synthesis, Characterization and Antimicrobial Activity of Novel Pharmacophores Incorporating Imidazoline-Oxazoline Scaffold

  • In this work, synthesis, characterization and antimicrobial activity of series of imidazolines-oxazolines scaffolds 5a-f and 10a-d have been investigated. All the imidazolines-oxazolines derivatives were prepared from acid derivatives 1 and 6a-c, and enantiomerically pure (S)-2-amino-3-methyl-1-butanol in four steps with excellent optical purity. The structures of all newly synthesized compounds have been elucidated by $^1H$, $^{13}C$ NMR, GCMS, and IR spectrometry. Their purity was confirmed using elemental analysis. Some newly synthesized compounds were examined to in-vitro antimicrobial activity. Among the prepared products 10d was found to exhibits the most active against all tested bacteria and fungi with minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) ranged between 21.9 and $42.6{\mu}g/mL$.

Monitoring of the Content of Imidazoline-Containing Corrosion Inhibitor

  • The qualitative composition of active components of the corrosion inhibitor CGW-85567 was studied. It was found that С18:2 and С18:1 imidazolines and the corresponding imidazolin-amides are the major components. The HPLC/MS technique was developed for their determination in the water solutions of monoethylene glycol (MEG). Industrial application of the inhibitor showed that MEG solution retained high concentration of the inhibitor for a long time after ceasing its addition into pipelines. Low values of the partition coefficients (0.010-0.014) of imidazolines in the system "water solution of MEG (concentration of MEG 62-85% v/v) - gas condensate" have allowed to pass on from the technology of continuous pumping of the inhibitor into protected pipelines to the periodic dosing technology. Taking into account a long time of circulation in the system and high temperatures during MEG regeneration process possible degradation products of the inhibitor were studied. N, N-dimethyl-dodecanamine-1, and N, N-dimethyl-tetradecanamine-1 were identified as major degradation products of the corrosion inhibitor CGW-85567.

  • 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-undecyl-2-imidazoline로부터 유도된 9종의 양쪽성 계면활성제에 대한 표면장력과 등전점을 일정농도의 수용액에서 비교 검토하였고, 표면장력법에 의하여 cmc를 추정하였다. 카르복시화 아미드류의 표면장력은 $4.0{\times}10^{-4}{\sim}1.0{\times}10^{-3}mol/{\ell}$ 농도범위에서 26~40dyne/cm, 술폰화 또는 황산화 이미다졸린류는 $1.5{\times}10^{-3}{\sim}2.5{\times}10^{-3}mol/{\ell}$ 농도범위에서 30~35dyne/cm, 술폰화 아미드류는 $5.8{\times}10^{-4}{\sim}8.0{\times}10^{-4}mol/{\ell}$ 농도범위에서 25~33dyne/cm이었다. 또한 등전점의 pH 범위는 카르복시화 아미드류는 pH 7.2~7.9, 술폰화 또는 황산화 이미다졸린류와 술폰화 아미드류는 pH 4.5~5.5이었다.

국산 벤토나이트 그리이스 제조 (Grease from Korean Bentonites)

  • 국산 벤토나이트를 분자량이 큰 imidazolines과 반응시켜 벤톤을 만들었으며 벤토나이트의 양이온 교환율이 100meq/100g이상이 됨을 알았다. 제조한 벤톤은 윤활유에 분산시키고 three-roll mill로 milling 한 후 그리이스를 만들었다. 이들 그리이스의 주도 (microscale로), 정상상태에서의 산화 안정도, 내수성, 및 내 마모성은 ASTM방법에 의하여 시험하였고 매우 좋은 실험결과를 얻었다.

  • Reaction of oxazolin-5-ones 1 with p-amino-diphenylamine was resulted in the formation of the corresponding imidazoline-5-ones 2 which on treatment with sulphur afforded phenothizaines 3. Acridine derivatives 5 were obtained from acetylaminodiphenyl amines derivatives 6 on heating with AnCl$_2$ at $200^{\circ}C.$3 reacted with chloroacetyl chloride to give 7 which reacted in turn with different amines to give 8. Antibacterial activity of the obtained products was studied.

내구성유연제에 관한 연구 (I) -알킬이미다졸린 유도체의 합성- (Studies on the Durable Softners (I) -Synthesis of Alkyl Imidazoline Derivatives-)

  • 이미다졸린 핵에 유연성을 부여하기 위하여 소수성기로서 behenic acid를 선택하고 3종류의 polyalkylene polyamine 과 반응시켜 1, 2-이치환 이미다졸린 화합물인 1-behenoyl-aminoethyl-2-heneicosylimidazoline(BHI), 1-behenoylbis(aminoethyl)-2-heneicosylimidazoline(BBI) 및 1-behenoyltris(aminoethyl)-2-heneicosylimidazoline(BTI)을 합성하였다. 동 화합물들을 4급화 시켜 1, 2-이치환 이미다졸린 염화물인 1-behenoylaminoethyl-1-glycidyl-2-heneicosylimidazolinium chloride(BHIC), 1-behenoylbis(aminoethyl)-1-glycidyl-2-heneicosylimidazolinium chloride(BBIC) 및 1-behenoyltris(aminoethyl)-1-glycidyl-2-heneicosylimidazolinium chloride(BTIC)를 합성하였다. BHI, BBI 및 BTI 합성의 최적조건은 $210^{\circ}C$에서 8시간이었으며 BHIC, BBIC 및 BTIC 합성에서 BHIC는 BHI-epichlorohydrin의 mole ratio가 1:1.3, BBIC와 BTIC는 mole ratio가 1:1.5 이상일 때 완전 4급화가 이루어졌다. BHIC, BBIC 및 BTIC에서 유연제 BHICS, BBICS 및 BTICS를 제조한 후 아크릴 섬유에 유연처리를 하여 유연성을 측정한 결과 양호한 유연제임이 밝혀졌다.
