  • With the advent of cell phone digital cameras, and sophisticated photo editing software, digital images can be easily manipulated and altered. Although good forgeries may leave no visual clues of having been tampered with, they may, nevertheless, alter the underlying statistics of an image. Most digital camera equipped in cell phones employ a single image sensor in conjunction with a color filter array (CFA), and then interpolates the missing color samples to obtain a three channel color image. This interpolation introduces specific correlations which are likely to be destroyed when tampering with an image. We quantify the specific correlations introduced by CFA interpolation, and describe how these correlations, or lack thereof, can be automatically detected in any portion of an image. We show the efficacy of this approach in revealing traces of digital tampering in lossless and lossy compressed color images interpolated with several different CFA algorithms in test cell phones.

  • The degradation of image due to the finite size of sensing device has been one of the problems to all of the digital imaging systems. The improvement of the spatial resolution has been attempted by "differential method" with fixed sensor size and finer sampling. The computer simulations were carried out for the cases of PLF system (Parallel Linear Fan-beam) and SR(Stationary Ring) system and the results are presented.

  • In this paper, we present a new interpolation method for the color filter away(CFA). In order to capture color images. typical input devices use a single chip CCD imaging sensor with color filter array. As a result, the single chip CCD does not provide sufficient color resolutions since it arranges different color filters sequentially on a single CCD, resulting in aliasing noise and loss of resolution. In order to reconstruct high quality color images, we propose to use the interpolation algorithm using high order B-splines. Experiments show promising results.

  • In recent years, high-performance flying drones attract attention for many peoples. In particular, the drone equipped with multi-rotor is expanding its range of utilization in video imaging, aerial rescue, logistics, monitoring, measurement, military field, etc. However, the control function of its controller is very simple. In this study, using a G-sensor mounted on a mobile device, implements an enhanced controller to control flying drones through the intuitive gesture of user. The implemented controller improves the gesture recognition performance using a neural network algorithm.

  • In this paper, we propose the efficient dead pixel detection algorithm for CMOS image sensors and its hardware architecture. The CMOS image sensors as image input devices are becoming popular due to the demand for miniaturized, low-power and cost-effective imaging systems. However, the presence of the dead pixels degrade the image quality. To detect the dead pixels, the proposed algorithm is composed of scan, trace and detection step. The experimental results showed that it could detect 99.99% of dead pixels. It was designed in a hardware description language and total logic gate count is 3.2k using 0.25 CMOS standard cell library.

  • A uncooled infrared ray sensor used in an infrared thermal imaging detector has many advantages. But because the uncooled infrared ray sensor is made by MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical system) process variation of offset is large. In this paper, to solve process variation of offset a ROIC for uncooled infrared ray sensor that has process variation of offset compensation technique using differential delta sampling and reference signal compensation circuit was proposed. As a result of simulation that uses the proposed ROIC, it was possible to acquire compensated output characteristics without process variation of offsets.

  • As automated image processing techniques have been required in multi-temporal/multi-sensor geospatial image applications, use of automated but highly invariant image matching technique has been a critical ingredient. Note that there is high possibility of geometric and spectral differences between multi-temporal/multi-sensor geospatial images due to differences in sensor, acquisition geometry, season, and weather, etc. Among many image matching techniques, the SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) is a popular method since it has been recognized to be very robust to diverse imaging conditions. Therefore, the SIFT has high potential for the geospatial image processing. This paper presents a performance test results of the SIFT on geospatial imagery by simulating various image differences such as shear, scale, rotation, intensity, noise, and spectral differences. Since a geospatial image application often requires a number of good matching points over the images, the number of matching points was analyzed with its matching positional accuracy. The test results show that the SIFT is highly invariant but could not overcome significant image differences. In addition, it guarantees no outlier-free matching such that it is highly recommended to use outlier removal techniques such as RANSAC (RANdom SAmple Consensus).

  • Recently, in rehabilitation treatment, the situation that requires a measure of the accuracy of the pose and movement of joints is being increased due to the habits and lifestyle of modern people and the environment. In particular, there is a need for active automated system that can determine itself for the matching rate of pose Basically, a method for measuring the matching rate of pose is used by extracting an image using the Kinect or extracting a silhouette using the imaging device. However, in the case of extracting a silhouette, it is difficult to set the comparison, and in the case of using the Kinect sensor, there is a disadvantages that high accumulated error rate according to movement. Therefore, In this paper, we propose a method to reduce the accumulated error of matching rate of pose getting the rotation angle of joint by measuring the real-time amount of change of 9-axis sensor. In particular, it can be measured same conditions that unrelated of the physical condition and unaffected by the data for the back and forth movement, because of it compares the current rotation angle of the joint. Finally, we show a comparative advantage results by compared with traditional method of extracting a silhouette and a method using a Kinect sensor.

  • In order to measure the radiation, there are types of sensors plurality. I was using the detection method and sensitivity of the CCD sensor in the scintillator and collimator in the sensor. In this study, in order to detect radiation using a CCD sensor with high resolution, by measuring the radiation dose by processing the visible light generated in response to radiation of the image coming into the CCD in the scintillator in space it is to present a pointer that radiation comes out most. It is intended to imaging by calculation of the distance to the radiation source to the implementation of the stereo camera system video in the future.
