  • In this paper, we propose a data hiding technique that effectively hides confidential data in the LSB of an image pixel by using the characteristics of the neighboring pixels of the image and the encryption techniques. In the proposed technique, the boundary surface of the image and the flat surface with little change in pixel values are investigated. At the boundary surface of the image, 1 bit of confidential data is encrypted and hidden in the LSB of the boundary pixel to preserve the characteristics of the boundary surface. In the pixels of the plane where the change in pixel value is small, 2 bits secret data is encrypted and hidden in the lower 2 bits of the corresponding pixel. In this way, when confidential data is hidden in an image, the amount of confidential data hidden in the image is greatly increased while maintaining excellent image quality. In addition, the security of hidden confidential data is strongly maintained. When confidential data is hidden by applying the proposed technique, the amount of confidential data concealed increases by up to 92.2% compared to the existing LSB method. The proposed technique can be effectively used to hide copyright information in commercial images.

  • Image-based application testing proposes an application testing method via image structure comparison. This test method allows testing on various devices without relying on various types of device operating systems or GUI. Traditional studies required the creation of a tester for each variant in the existing case, because it differs from the correct image for operating system changes, screen animation execution, and resolution changes. The study determined that the screen is the same for variations. The tester compares the underlying structure of the objects in the two images and extracts the regions in which the differences exist in the images, and compares image similarity as characteristic points of the Faster D2-Net. The development of the Faster D2-Net reduced the number of operations and spatial losses compared to the D2-Net, making it suitable for extracting features from application images and reducing test performance time.

  • In this paper, we propose a Difference Image Entropy based gaze direction recognition system. The Difference Image Entropy is computed by histogram levels using the acquired difference image of current image and reference images or average images that have peak positions from $-255{\sim}+255$ to prevent information omission. There are two methods about the Difference Image Entropy based gaze direction. 1) The first method is to compute the Difference Image Entropy between an input image and average images of 45 images in each location of gaze, and to recognize the directions of user's gaze. 2) The second method is to compute the Difference Image Entropy between an input image and each 45 reference images, and to recognize the directions of user's gaze. The reference image is created by average image of 45 images in each location of gaze after receiving images of 4 directions. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed system, we conduct comparison experiment with PCA based gaze direction system. The directions of recognition left-top, right-top, left-bottom, right-bottom, and we make an experiment on that, as changing the part of recognition about 45 reference images or average image. The experimental result shows that the recognition rate of Difference Image Entropy is 97.00% and PCA is 95.50%, so the recognition rate of Difference Image Entropy based system is 1.50% higher than PCA based system.

  • In this paper, the 2D/3D converting algorithm is proposed. The single frame of 2D image is used fur the real-time processing of the proposed algorithm. The proposed algorithm creates a 3D image with the depth map by using the vertical position information of a object in a single frame. In order to real-time processing and improve the hardware complexity, it performs the generation of a depth map using the image sampling, the object segmentation with the luminance standardization and the boundary scan. It might be suitable to a still image and a moving image, and it can provide a good 3D effect on a image such as a long distance image, a landscape, or a panorama photo because it uses a vertical position information. The proposed algorithm can adapt a 3D effect to a image without the restrictions of the direction, velocity or scene change of an object. It has been evaluated with the visual test and the comparing to the MTD(Modified Time Difference) method using the APD(Absolute Parallax Difference).

  • purpose of this study was to trace historically the causes of the visual inconsistency of seXual ilT'age in dress with versatile perspectives. For this purpose, theoretical studies about the concepts of sexuality in dress were precceded. To trace the factors of the visual inconsistency of sexual image in dress, historical studies from ancient Egypt to modern ages were done. And then, the factors of the visual inconsist\ulcornerency of sexual image in dress were identified. The synthetic results were as follows; L The visual inconsistency of sexual image in dress shows the phenomena that men introduce the traditional feminine image in dress (ex. X silhouette, skirts), whereas women do the traditional masculine image (ex. Y silhouette, pants), which arouse androgynous image in appearance. And, it also indicates that men or women wear the dress excluded the traditional masculine image as well as the traditional feminine image, which arouse neutral image in appearance. 2. The visual inconsistency of sexual image in dress have been existed historically, from Egypt to modern ages. 3. The visual inconsistency of sexual image III dress was caus~d by various factors as follows; First, ideal beauty of the times which did not distinguish between masculinity and femininity resulted in the visual inconsistency of sexual image in dress. Second, as a means of seeking pleasure, the visual inconsistency of sexual image in dress was used. Third, as a means of expressing ideology, the visual inconsistency of sexual image in dress was selected. Forth,in religious meaning, the visual inconsistency ofl sexual image in dress was appeared. • Image restoration technique using dual sensor is presented in this paper. Digital Radiography image (1024xlO24) is obtained by conventional resolution sensor. We also obtain local DR image data by high resolution sensor. Two dimensional maximum entropy power spectrum estimation (2-D ME PSE) is applied to low resolution image and high resolution image for the purpose of the power spectrum estimation of each image. A class of linear algebraic restoration filter, parametric projection filter (PPF), is derived from the power spectrums of each image. It is shown that the noise energy may be considerably reduced through the PPF.

  • Generally, image fusion is defined as generating re-organized image by merging two or more data using special algorithms. In remote sensing, image fusion technique is called as Pan-sharpening algorithm because it aims to improve the spatial resolution of original multispectral image by using panchromatic image of high-spatial resolution. The pan-sharpened image has been an important task due to various applications such as change detection, digital map creation and urban analysis. However, most approaches have tended to distort the spectral information of the original multispectral data or decrease the spatial quality compared with the panchromatic image. In order to solve these problems, a novel pan-sharpening algorithm is proposed by considering the spectral and spatial characteristics of multispectral image. The algorithm is applied to the KOMPSAT-2 and QuickBird satellite image and the results showed that our method can improve the spectral/spatial quality compared with the existing fusion algorithms.
