Adjustment of Spectral Information of Different Facets in a Surface Material using Image Segmentation

  • Geometric shape in a surface material sometimes produces different slopes that have different illuminations. It causes some difficulties to get same classification results or to identify as an object for the different facets in a surface material. A regression method is suggested to adjust the spectral information of different facets in a surface material using image segments. The method to adjust spectral information in a building facets was very successful. The most important advantage of this method is to keep the intensity of spectral information as well as spectral response. This method can also be implemented in an adaptive way.

Multi-facet 3D Scanner Based on Stripe Laser Light Image (선형 레이저 광 영상기반 다면 3 차원 스캐너)

  • In light of recently developed 3D printers for rapid prototyping, there is increasing attention on the 3D scanner as a 3D data acquisition system for an existing object. This paper presents a prototypical 3D scanner based on a striped laser light image. In order to solve the problem of shadowy areas, the proposed 3D scanner has two cameras with one laser light source. By using a horizontal rotation table and a rotational arm rotating about the latitudinal axis, the scanner is able to scan in all directions. To remove an additional optical filter for laser light pixel extraction of an image, we have adopted a differential image method with laser light modulation. Experimental results show that the scanner's 3D data acquisition performance exhibited less than 0.2 mm of measurement error. Therefore, this scanner has proven that it is possible to reconstruct an object's 3D surface from point cloud data using a 3D scanner, enabling reproduction of the object using a commercially available 3D printer.

A Study on Design of Visual Sensor Using Scanning Beam for Shape Recognition of Weld Joint. (용접접합부의 형상계측을 위한 주사형 시각센서의 설계에 관한 연구)

  • A visual sensor consisted of polygonal mirror, laser, and CCD camera was proposed to measure the distance to the weld joint for recognizing the joint shape. To scan the laser beam of the sensor onto an object, 8-facet polygonal mirror was used as the rotating mirror. By locating the laser and the camera at axi-symmetrical positions around the mirror, the synchronized-scan condition could be satisfied even when the mirror was set to rotate through one direction continuously, which could remove the inertia effect of the conventional oscillating-mirror methods. The mathematical modelling of the proposed sensor with the optical triangulation method made it possible to derive the relation between the position of an image on the camera and the one of a laser light on the object. Through the geometrical simulation of the proposed sensor with the principal of reflection and virtual image, the optical path of a laser light could be predicted. The position and direction of the CCD camera were determined based on the Scheimpflug's condition to fit the focus of any image reflected from an object within the field of view. The results of modelling and simulation revealed that the proposed visual sensor could be used to recognize the weld joint and its vicinity located within the range of the field of view and the resolution.   • Many users of 3D virtual city are Utilize a texture image for the cognition of real object. In this study, building's facet images were achieved by a digital camera and adjusted its distortion by use of the 2D projective transformation method. After then, Images are mapped to a 3D building model by means of the OpenGL. Application program is able to offer an automation solution to construction process of the 3D virtual city.

Object Analysis on Outdoor Environment Using Multiple Features for Autonomous Navigation Robot (자율주행 로봇을 위한 다중 특징을 이용하여 외부환경에서 물체 분석)

  • This paper describes a method to identify objects for autonomous navigation of an outdoor mobile robot. To identify objects, the robot recognizes the object from an image taken by moving robot on outdoor environment. As a beginning, this paper presents the candidates for a segment of region to building of artificial object, sky and trees of natural objects. Then we define their characteristics individually. In the process, we segment the regions of the objects included by preprocessing using multiple features. Multiple features are HSI, line segments, context information, hue co-occurrence matrix, principal components and vanishing point. An analysis of building identifies the geometrical properties of building facet such as wall region, windows and entrance. The building as intersection in vertical and horizontal line segment of vanishing point extracts the mesh. The wall region of building detect by merging the mesh of the neighbor parallelograms that have similar colors. The property estimates the number of story and rooms in the same floors by merging skewed parallelograms of the same color. We accomplish the result of image segmentation using multiple features and the geometrical properties analysis of object through experiments.

  • This research experimented on the change of the multiple colleague scan angle facing one scan object facet to many directions of the form of 3D about the visual angle nervous system forming the cubic distribution with the gradient magnetic field of the mri system and considered the existing basic angle oblique direction test coverage and comparison. MR system can freely select various pulse sequence and image slice. To oblique imaging for optic nerve viewing, we have studied the variation of scan angle between typical oblique scan method (sagittal-coronal plane) and multi directional angles oblique scan method (sagittal-coronal-axial plane) using gradient of MR system. In this study, the subjects of the experiment were normal adults in our country. As a result, we confirmed that multi directional angles oblique scan method can display anatomical information of more wider area than typical oblique scan method. In addition, to clearly display optic nerve, we also confirmed that image slice thickness and pulse sequence have effect on it.
