In this paper, we propose effective boundary line extraction algorithm for moving objects by matching error image and moving vectors, and fast tracking algorithm for moving object by partial boundary lines. We extracted boundary line for moving object by generating seeds with probability distribution function based on Watershed algorithm, and by extracting boundary line for moving objects through extending seeds, and then by using moving vectors. We processed tracking algorithm for moving object by using a part of boundary lines as features. We set up a part of every-direction boundary line for moving object as the initial feature vectors for moving objects. Then, we tracked moving object within current frames by using feature vector for the previous frames. As the result of the simulation for tracking moving object on the real images, we found that tracking processing of the proposed algorithm was simple due to tracking boundary line only for moving object as a feature, in contrast to the traditional tracking algorithm for active contour line that have varying processing cost with the length of boundary line. The operations was reduced about 39% as contrasted with the full search BMA. Tracking error was less than 4 pixel when the feature vector was $(15\times{5)}$ through the information of every-direction boundary line. The proposed algorithm just needed 200 times of search operation.
In this study, we are using a computer tomography image of the abdomen, as an experimental linear research for the image of the fatty liver patients texture features analysis and computer-aided diagnosis system of implementation using the ROC curve analysis, from the computer tomography image. We tried to provide an objective and reliable diagnostic information of fatty liver to the doctor. Experiments are usually a fatty liver, via the wavelet transform of the abdominal computed tomography images are configured with the experimental image section, shows the results of statistical analysis on six parameters indicating a feature value of the texture. As a result, the entropy, average luminance, strain rate is shown a relatively high recognition rate of 90% or more, the control also, flatness, uniformity showed relatively low recognition rate of about 70%. ROC curve analysis of six parameters are all shown to 0.900 (p = 0.0001) or more, showed meaningful results in the recognition of the disease. Also, to determine the cut-off value for the prediction of disease six parameters. These results are applicable from future abdominal computed tomography images as a preliminary diagnostic article of diseases automatic detection and eventual diagnosis.

In this paper, we propose the system which recognize the gaze using Random Forests in vehicular environment based on smart-phone. Proposed system is mainly composed of the following: face detection using Adaboost, face component estimation using Histograms, and gaze recognition based on Random Forests. We detect a driver based on the image information with a smart-phone camera, and the face component of driver is estimated. Next, we extract the feature vectors from the estimated face component and recognize gaze direction using Random Forest recognition algorithm. Also, we collected gaze database including a variety gaze direction in real environments for the experiment. In the experiment result, the face detection rate and the gaze recognition rate showed 82.02% and 84.77% average accuracies, respectively.
In recent years, personal videos have seen a tremendous growth due to the substantial increase in the use of smart devices and networking services in which users create and share video content easily without many restrictions. However, taking both into account would significantly improve event detection performance because videos generally have multiple modalities and the frame data in video varies at different time points. This paper proposes an event detection method. In this method, high-level features are first extracted from multiple modalities in the videos, and the features are rearranged according to time sequence. Then the association of the modalities is learned by means of DNN to produce a personal video event detector. In our proposed method, audio and image data are first synchronized and then extracted. Then, the result is input into GoogLeNet as well as Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) to extract high-level features. The results are then re-arranged in time sequence, and every video is processed to extract one feature each for training by means of DNN.
Internet of things (IoT) is a new paradigm for collecting, processing and analyzing various contents in order to detect anomalies and to monitor particular patterns in a specific environment. The collected data can be used to discover new patterns and to offer new insights. IoT-enabled data mashup is a new technology to combine various types of information from multiple sources into a single web service. Mashup services create a new horizon for different applications. Environmental monitoring is a serious tool for the state and private organizations, which are located in regions with environmental hazards and seek to gain insights to detect hazards and locate them clearly. These organizations may utilize IoT - enabled data mashup service to merge different types of datasets from different IoT sensor networks in order to leverage their data analytics performance and the accuracy of the predictions. This paper presents an IoT - enabled data mashup service, where the multimedia data is collected from the various IoT platforms, then fed into an environmental cognition service which executes different image processing techniques such as noise removal, segmentation, and feature extraction, in order to detect interesting patterns in hazardous areas. The noise present in the captured images is eliminated with the help of a noise removal and background subtraction processes. Markov based approach was utilized to segment the possible regions of interest. The viable features within each region were extracted using a multiresolution wavelet transform, then fed into a discriminative classifier to extract various patterns. Experimental results have shown an accurate detection performance and adequate processing time for the proposed approach. We also provide a data mashup scenario for an IoT-enabled environmental hazard detection service and experimentation results.

An innovative feature of this study is to propose a methodology for evaluating safety performance in real time based on vehicle trajectory data extracted from video images. The essence of evaluating safety performance is to capture unsafe car-following and lane-changing events generated by individual vehicles traveling within video surveillance area. The proposed methodology derived three indices including real-time safety index(RSI) based on the concept of safe stopping distance, time-to-collision(TTC), and the collision energy based on the conservation of momentum. It is believed that outcomes would be greatly utilized in developing a new generation of video images processing(VIP) based traffic detection systems capable of producing safety performance measurements. Relevant technical challenges for such detection systems are also discussed.
Recently, the value of video as an important data of medical information technology is increasing due to the feature of rich clinical information. On the other hand, video is also required to be de-identified as a medical image, but the existing methods are mainly specialized in the stereotyped data and still images, which makes it difficult to apply the existing methods to the video data. In this paper, we propose an automated system to index candidate elements of personal identification information on a frame basis to solve this problem. The proposed system performs indexing process using text and person detection after preprocessing by scene segmentation and color knowledge based method. The generated index information is provided as metadata according to the purpose of use. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed system, the indexing speed was measured using prototype implementation and real surgical video. As a result, the work speed was more than twice as fast as the playing time of the input video, and it was confirmed that the decision making was possible through the case of the production of surgical education contents.

Content-adaptive steganography methods embed secret messages in hard-to-model regions of covers such as complicated texture or noisy area. Content-adaptive steganalysis methods often need high dimensional features to capture more subtle relationships of local dependencies among adjacent pixels. However, these methods require many computational complexity and depend on the location of hidden message and the exploited distortion metrics. In this paper, we propose an improved steganalysis method for content-adaptive steganography to enhance detection rate with small number features. We first show that the features form the difference between DCT coefficients are useful for analyzing the content-adaptive steganography methods, and present feature extraction mehtod using first-order Markov probability for the the difference between DCT coefficients. The extracted features are used as input of ensemble classifier. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms previous schemes in terms of detection rates and accuracy in spite of a small number features in various content-adaptive stego images.

There is no exact standard of detecting pulmonary tuberculosis(TB) in digital image of simple chest radiography. In this study, I experimented on the principal components analysis(PCA) algorithm in the past and suggested six other parameters as identification of TB lesions. The purpose of this study was to develop and test computer aided diagnosis(detection) method for the detection and measurement of pulmonary abnormalities on digital chest radiography. It showed comparatively low recognition diagnosis rate using PCA method, however, six kinds of texture features parameters algorithm showed similar or higher diagnosis rates of pulmonary disease than that of the clinical radiologists. Proposed algorithms using computer-aided of texture analysis can distinguish between areas of abnormality in the chest digital images, differentiate lesions having pulmonary disease. The method could be useful tool for classifying and measuring chest lesions, it would play a major role in radiologist's diagnosis of disease so as to help in pre-reading diagnosis and prevention of pulmonary tuberculosis.

In this paper, we suggest a new method of detecting human skin-color regions from three-dimensional static or dynamic stereoscopic images by effectively integrating depth and color features. The suggested method first extracts depth information that represents the distance between a camera and an object from input left and right stereoscopic images through a stereo matching technique. It then performs labeling for pixels with similar depth features and determines the labeled regions having human skin color as actual skin color regions. Our experimental results show that the suggested skin region extraction method outperforms existing skin detection methods in terms of skin-color region extraction accuracy.
