초창기 모더니즘 여성 건축가 마가레테 쉬테-리호츠키에 관한 연구 - 여성 공간의 혁명인가 아니면 새로운 기계화로의 편입인가? - (A Study on the early modernist woman architect, Margarete Schutte-Lihotzky - A Revolution of woman's space or an assignment to the new industrialization? -)

  • The built-in kitchen that is seen in every household is one of the achievements of the modernism architecture in early 20th century. Developed on the basis of two axis, one of which is the high industrialization and the other the sceptical assessment on the traditional value-system, the 20th century was launched in the form of the twofold entanglement, through the unfolding of which the cultural code of the modernism could be operated. The Quantification of the psychic that was attempted by H. v. Helmholtz and E. Mach in the pursuit of the reunification of sensation to the normal science was the first thread of that, while the second the break-down of the authoritative ideology and the emancipation of woman labour, which were initiated by the leftist movements. In this situation Margarete Schutte-Lihotzky was the woman architect who has tried to overcome the patriarchism in the household through architectural work by dwelling on that the emancipation of the housewives from the inefficient household labour is directly connected with the accomplishment of human freedom. She applied the modernist functionalism to the designing the kitchen for that purpose and outlined the effective range and operational realm of the rationalization. After all this the future preoccupying endeavor became the decisive moment that gave birth to a aesthetically and functionally good deliberated design of the kitchen in the present. This study is purposed to actualize the architectural ideas of Lihotzky into the present context through the consideration on the Frankfurt Kitchen of her and to grope for the relationship between architecture and feminism on the common horizon of the functionalist architecture and the women's liberation.

현대 건축에 있어서 전통성의 의미와 표현에 관한 연구 (A study on the Tradition of Meaning and Express in Contemporary Architecture)

  • The aim of this study is to examine the expression of the meaning of tradition and the archetype of korean image in it in order to find out korean image on reflection of the meaning of tradition. The results are as follows. 1) The nature of tradition illuminates the past, and lights up the present. It cannot be a portrait which enable to have a future prospect and also a cornerstone a tutore pave the way for of the better direction. 2) It's meaning like to say that korean style it self is considered as an expression of tradition. But it korean tradition has a tradition course in a dialectical way, new creation will be possible, 3) The social and cultural aspects change as time goes by through the tendency of society and it's culture we can get some imformation about the inner spirit of human being. The inner spirit of human being is the spirit of our nation so that we can get oringinality from the culture of our nation. 4) On the aspect of idea oganic system must be visualized on the basis of scale whichs accustomed to our emotion. 5) We can also find out the growing tendency that architects are willing to express the typological image as spacial arrangement and ideology of the Korean image to their works recently. It can be defined that it is a progressive tendency for the expression of Korean image in contemporary architecture. This study is needed to have move practical and concrete examination in order to approach more ideologically the expression of the sense of tradition.

중국 항주(杭州)의 역사경관 변천과정 - 서호(西湖) 경관을 중심으로 - (The Transition of the Historical Landscape in Hangzhou, China - Focus on the Landscape of West Lake -)

  • 항주는 중국에서 2,300년의 역사를 지니고 있으며, 자연풍광이 아름답기로 유명한 역사문화도시이다. 특히 서호는 세계적으로 유명한 경치 좋은 호수로서, 2011년에 유네스코 세계문화경관유산으로 등재되었다. 서호는 변천과정을 거치면서도 역사경관은 사라지지 않고, 각 시기별 지속적인 보호와 관리로 현재까지 최적화를 유지할 수 있었다. 따라서 쾌적한 주거환경을 개발하면서 지속가능한 역사경관의 보존을 위해 서호 경관의 변천과정에 대한 연구는 매우 중요하다. 이 연구에서는 항주 서호 경관의 변천과정을 중심으로 먼저 고대 항주의 도성구조와 사상적 배경을 사료와 문헌을 통해 서호 경관의 당, 송, 원, 명, 청 각 시기의 특징과 변천과정 및 역사적 경험을 분석하였다. 연구결과, 항주는 도성계획에 있어 역(易)과 풍수사상 및 "관자(管子)" 사상에서 영향을 받아 입지선정과 주변의 자연환경과의 고려를 중요시하였다. 따라서 항주 서호 경관의 특징은 산수풍경을 그림처럼 표현하고 지형과 주변 환경에 조성되었다. 서호는 송대 이후, 청대까지의 역대 조정은 천 년 동안 지속적으로 여러 번의 정비와 건설을 통해, 현재의 경관이 완성되었다.

소식의 사상과 원림 경영 연구 - 백학거를 중심으로 한 기초 연구 - (A Study of Su Shi(蘇軾)'s Philosophy and Garden Management - A Basic Study Focused on Baiheju(白鶴居) -)

  • 문화예술의 전성기였던 북송시기는 중국 원림사에서 큰 변화를 가져 온 시기이다. 이전 당대(唐代)에 발전하였던 은둔과 사념(思念)들이 문학과 회화 그리고 예술과 결합되며 원림은 예술작품으로 인식되는 경향을 보이고 있다. 특히 북송시기 문학과 예술을 관통한 소식의 등장은 개인적 정원조성을 뛰어넘어 공공원림의 발전과 원림의 다변화에 영향을 주고 그의 오랜 폄적기간들은 지역문화와 특색을 이해하고 원림에 반영하는 계기가 되었다. 이에 본 연구는 다양한 원림을 경영하였던 소식의 사상에 주목하여 그의 폄적생활과 사상의 관계성을 통해 문인으로서의 그의 원림 경영을 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 소식이 경영한 현존하는 혜주의 백학거 원림을 중심으로 소식이 경영한 문인원림의 양태를 살펴본 결과 다음과 같은 특징과 가치를 표출하였다. 첫째, 유불도 삼가(三家)에 능통했던 소식은 백학거의 입지와 원림 구성요소에 사상과 독특한 조망 기법을 결합하여 경관을 즐기고 있다. 고택은 소박한 형태이나 내경과 외경의 결합을 통해 확장성을 지니고 있고 내경은 단일공간으로 인식되도록 구성하되 공간의 중첩적 경험과 다경관의 동시적 감상이 가능하도록 계획되어 있다. 반면 공간에는 반드시 위계를 설정하여 질서를 두고 있다. 둘째, 원림은 지역의 특징을 반영하여 아열대성 식물이 다수 나타나고 있고 건조물과의 색채적 대비를 고려하여 활색생향(活色生香)적 식재 형태가 나타나고 있다. 또한 시의적 정신세계를 원림에 투영하여 심신수양과 이상세계의 탐구적 장소로 원림을 차용하였고 거욕과 수심적 마음수행을 위한 장소로서 식재는 간결하되 특징을 잘 내보일 수 있는 수종을 선별 식재하여 원림 공간에 율동감과 입체감을 주고 있다. 셋째, 백학거는 시대별 변화를 보이고 있으나 근본적으로 후손들에 의해 소식이 조영한 원림의 양태와 원림 요소들이 현존하여 유산적 가치를 확인할 수 있다.

환경디자인과 인지생태론 (Environmental Design and Cognitive Ecology)

  • Recently, there are getting popular form generation-related design methodologies and scientific discourses about the nature of nature in the environmental design. The necessity of visual perception and cognitive research is growing in this respect. Accordingly, this study was designed to discuss environmental design and cognition in the ecological perspective. This study was intended to study the structural factors of cognitive ecological space. This study focused on the systematic principle of new environmental design based on cognitive ecological approaches and what kinds of design effects this design principle has on the human being in the long nm. The results are as follows. First, the results suggests that fractal pattern should be an alternative to design cognitive ecological space and new paradigm of architecture is based on the nature of nature and human sensibility. Accordingly, they have proposed that fractal design is more empirical and environment-friendly than rational linear design. Second, this study classified the variables of cognitive ecological space into nature, tradition, preference judgement, aesthetic value, and schema. Accordingly, such features as symbol, tradition, and nature restricted by modernistic ideology should be added to new paradigm-based environmental design. Third, accordingly, this study stresses that cognitive ecological environmental design doesn't include buildings of modernism and deconstruction and is based on new science of complexity.

우리나라의 소리환경 보전의 의의와 방향 - 일본의 소리풍경 100선과의 비교를 중심으로 - (The Significance and Direction on the Preservation of Sound Environment in Korea - Focused on the Comparison of 100 Soundscapes of Japan -)

  • The aim of this study is to search for the meaning and direction of sound environment preservation in Korea through the concept of soundscape. In order to achieve the goals, it was analyzed the similarities and differences on the contents of "100 The beautiful sounds of Korea - 1999" and "100 Soundscapes of Japan - 1996" in view of the intents of selection, the process of selection, and the construction of the results. The result show that there are the both similarities and differences on the intent and the process of selection, types and extent of sound samples, interactions among human-sound environment-region, the identities of the regions as well as the recognized sound environment. Also, the result shows that it is very important to preserve ecological, social, and cultural sound environment of the region. In order to practice this ideology of soundscape in Korea, there is a necessity for converting people's consciousness and participating voluntary residents' movement.

우리나라의 소리문화 창조를 위한 사운드스케이프 디자인 운동의 전개와 실천 전략 (The Practical Strategies and Developments of Soundscape Design Movement for Creation of Sound Culture in Korea)

  • The aim of this study is to find out directions for development of soundscape design for creating a unique sound culture in a region, and to search for the practical strategies toward a soundscape design movement in Korea. For these specific aims, several components in soundscape through considering from original conception and ideology of soundscape, such as the concept of soundscape, the meaning of soundscape design, the categories of soundscape researh : keynote sounds, sound signals, and soundmarks, and the primary problems and strategies in the world soundscape project(WSP) are investigated. The result shows that it is necessary to practice several ways in our housing life, that is, the recovery of our coenesthesia, development of the residential environments considering the soundscape, revitalization of community consciousness, rehabilitation of the sensibility, and identity excavation of sound culture, and it is very important to spread out a plan for integrating the following four categories of strategies : conceptual, educational, political, and social.

  • Laying stress on the upper classes of Western Europe until from the seventeenth to the eighteenth century, the chinese mode in the fields of architecture, interior design and fashion was widely liked. It is called as ‘chinoiserie’into the French language. The chinese design with its quantity and ornamentation exerted an influence upon‘Rococo’in France and upon ‘Chippendale’ in England. The chinese mode that was made best use of the furniture design is the one of Ming dynasty. This was developed in relation to the interior design of ‘Siheyuan’ that is the architectural mode in those days. The furnitures at the times of Ming dynasty was raised to the position of the golden era in the history of chinese furnitures. The furniture has the technique laying stress on symmetrical proportion, simplicity. This technique showed as the formative modeling. also on the part of decoration ornamental designs showing the china ideology of Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism it was used. In this formative modeling the ideological background of those days forms the groundwork. The combination of reason and sentiment and of heart and mind emphasizes that our emotion should be in control by the ration and our emotion and ration should be harmonized.

조선시대 반가 정원공간의 조영사상에 관한 연구 - 문화재 지정 9개 지역의 반가를 중심으로 - (A Study on the thought of Building Noble Family's House Garden of Chosun Dynasty -Focus One the 9 Noble Family's Houses Designated as Cultural Property-)

  • This study is about Tak Mok theory of feng-shui ideology which was main thought in Choson dynasty or some other thoughts and noble families' thought of garden building : planting trees and properties of the noble families garden. The result from the study of noble family's garden molding is as follows. In the noble family's garden molding, there were considerations of plant ecology known through long experience and the functional aspect of planting tree and esthetic sense of housing circumstances, in addition to feng-shui thought, Taoist thought and the doctrine of the five natural elements of the positive vs. negative. We can learn Choson's noble family's garden included playroom as well as symbolic and incantatory meaning. Also in the thought of noble family's garden molding we can found proper element for modern housing plan such as an ecological peculiarity or functional aspect of dwelling circumstance. And we can also found they didn't show a rejection symptoms against nature but enclosed with straight form which was traditional trait, and each space of it is composed organically. Also we knew they selected a diverse and refined technique with it's decorating the Choson dynasty playful and meditative space. We found that the key point of the thought of noble family's garden molding were on the basis of Confucianal mood, content amid poverty thought and free technique of it.

  • Fast industrialization caused from Descartes' dichotomy has enormously developed our world, but endangered the ecosystem. In this study, the ecosystem aesthetics is not only a critique against existing growth-ideology and technical civilization, but also the art pursuing the life as an artistic state and achieving the dream for qualitatively different new future. Lao-tzu's Natural Beauty assumes that the adaptation to natural laws can lead every purpose's achievement. Based on such theoretical alternative, the earth construction as a medium for coexisting mankind, nature and construction interacts with the other objects through the natural affinity, the energy efficiency, the material generation. The earth construction provides the images of naivety, naturalness, folk as well as emotional stability in cultural terms. This study's direction and method are as follows. First, it researches the ecosystem aesthetics from the Taoism viewpoint, the alternative for environmental healing based on theoretical reviews about the ecosystem aesthetics. Second, it researches the earth construction's ecosystem aesthetic features and construction features from the low-tech aspect in continual construction genealogy. Third, it analyzes some cases targeting domestic buildings by drawing out expression methods and features through the connectivity of earth construction and ecosystem aesthetics. The earth construction lies between the heaven and the earth, but coexists in natural cycle. The earth construction caused from ecosystem aesthetics will be a future alterative, and various studies about its features and methods should be continued.
