  • Cloud computing is an up-and-coming paradigm shift transforming computing models from a technology to a utility. However, security concerns related to privacy, confidentiality and trust are among the issues that threaten the wide deployment of cloud computing. With the advancement of ubiquitous mobile-based clients, the ubiquity of the model suggests a higher integration in our day to day life and this leads to a rise in security issues. To strengthen the access control of cloud resources, most organizations are acquiring Identity Management Systems (IDM). This paper presents one of the most popular IDM systems, specifically OAuth, working in the scope of Mobile Cloud Computing which has many weaknesses in its protocol flow. OAuth is a Delegated Authorization protocol, and not an Authentication protocol and this is where the problem lies. This could lead to very poor security decisions around authentication when the basic OAuth flow is adhered to. OAuth provides an access token to a client, so that it can access a protected resource, based on the permission of the resource owner. Many researchers have opted to implement OpenlD alongside OAuth so as to solve this problem. But OpenlD similarly has several security flows. This paper presents scenarios of how insecure implementations of OAuth can be abused maliciously. We incorporate an authentication protocol to verify the identities before authorization is carried out.

  • Identity authentication is a crucial line of defense for network security, and passwords are still the mainstream of identity authentication. So far trawling password attacking has been extensively studied, but the research related with personal information is always sporadic. Probabilistic context-free grammar (PCFG) and Markov chain-based models perform greatly well in trawling guessing. In this paper we propose a systematic targeted attacking model based on structure partition and string reorganization by migrating the above two models to targeted attacking, denoted as TG-SPSR. In structure partition phase, besides dividing passwords to basic structure similar to PCFG, we additionally define a trajectory-based keyboard pattern in the basic grammar and introduce index bits to accurately characterize the position of special characters. Moreover, we also construct a BiLSTM recurrent neural network classifier to characterize the behavior of password reuse and modification after defining nine kinds of modification rules. Extensive experimental results indicate that in online attacking, TG-SPSR outperforms traditional trawling attacking algorithms by average about 275%, and respectively outperforms its foremost counterparts, Personal-PCFG, TarGuess-I, by about 70% and 19%; In offline attacking, TG-SPSR outperforms traditional trawling attacking algorithms by average about 90%, outperforms Personal-PCFG and TarGuess-I by 85% and 30%, respectively.

  • Recently, a number of military intranet infiltrations suspected of North Korea have been discovered. There was a problem that a vulnerability could occur due to the modification of user authentication data that can access existing military information systems. In this paper, we applied mutual verification technique and API (Application Programming Interface) forgery / forgery blocking and obfuscation to solve the authentication weakness in web browsers that comply with FIDO (Fast IDentity Online) standard. In addition, user convenience is improved by implementing No-Plugin that does not require separate program installation. Performance tests show that most browsers perform about 0.1ms based on the RSA key generation rate. In addition, it proved that it can be used for commercialization by showing performance of less than 0.1 second even in the digital signature verification speed of the server. The service is expected to be useful for improving military information system security as an alternative to browser authentication by building a web secure storage.

  • Recently, biometric technology has begun to be used as a fusion of IT technology and financial system. Using this biometric technology, FIDO(Fast Identity Online) technology, Samsung and Apple started Samsung Pay and Apple Pay service. FIDO authentication technology replaces existing authentication methods such as passwords. Among the biometric technologies, fingerprint recognition technology is attracting attention because it can minimize the device and user rejection at a relatively low price. However, fingerprint information has a limited number of users and it can not be reused if fingerprint information is leaked by an external attacker. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a method to authenticate a user using EEG signal which is one of biometrics technologies. W propose a method to use EEG signal measurement value in FIDO system by using convenience channel by using short channel EEG device. And propose a method to utilize EEG signal when the user recognizes a specific entity by measuring the EEG signal before and after recognizing a specific entity.

  • With the development of the Internet, user authentication technology that proves me online is improving. Existing ID methods pose a threat of personal information leakage if the service provider manages personal information and security is weak, and the information subject is to the service provider. In this study, as online identification technology develops, we propose a DID-based self-authentication model to prevent the threat of leakage of personal information from a centralized format and strengthen sovereignty. The proposed model allows users to directly manage personal information and strengthen their sovereignty over information topics through VC issued by the issuing agency. As a research method, a self-authentication model that guarantees security and integrity is presented using a decentralized identifier method based on distributed ledger technology, and the security of the attack method is analyzed. Because it authenticates through DID Auth using public key encryption algorithms, it is safe from sniffing, man in the middle attack, and the proposed model can replace real identity card.

  • Due to its ease of deployment, low cost, self-configuring and self-healing capabilities, Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) have emerged as a key technology to be used in a wide scale applications in personal, local, campus, and metropolitan areas. Security and more specifically privacy is an important issue in this type of multi-hop WMN which has given a little attention in the research community. We focus on privacy compromise of a mesh client in a community mesh network that may lead an attacker to reveal mesh clients identity. his other profiles and gain information about mobility. In this paper. we have presented an authentication mechanism with the aid of blind signature that ensures a mesh client to anonymously authenticate itself with a nearby mesh router and thereby preserve identity privacy We have also presented the security and performance analysis of the proposed scheme.

  • With the popularization of smart phones and the development of the Internet, many people use smart phones to conduct identity verification procedures. smart phones are easier and faster to authenticate than personal desktop computers. However, as Internet hacking technology and malicious code distribution technology rapidly evolve and attack types become more diverse, authentication methods suitable for mobile environment are required. As authentication methods, there are methods such as possessive-based authentication, knowledge-based authentication, biometric-based authentication, pattern-based authentication, and multi-element authentication. In this paper, we propose a user authentication mechanism that uses collected information as authentication factor using smart phone. Using the proposed authentication mechanism, it is possible to use the smart phone information and environment information of the user as a hidden authentication factor, so that the authentication process can be performed without being exposed to others. We implemented the user authentication system using the proposed authentication mechanism and evaluated the effectiveness based on applicability, convenience, and security.
