  • With the popularization of smart phones and the development of the Internet, many people use smart phones to conduct identity verification procedures. smart phones are easier and faster to authenticate than personal desktop computers. However, as Internet hacking technology and malicious code distribution technology rapidly evolve and attack types become more diverse, authentication methods suitable for mobile environment are required. As authentication methods, there are methods such as possessive-based authentication, knowledge-based authentication, biometric-based authentication, pattern-based authentication, and multi-element authentication. In this paper, we propose a user authentication mechanism that uses collected information as authentication factor using smart phone. Using the proposed authentication mechanism, it is possible to use the smart phone information and environment information of the user as a hidden authentication factor, so that the authentication process can be performed without being exposed to others. We implemented the user authentication system using the proposed authentication mechanism and evaluated the effectiveness based on applicability, convenience, and security.

  • Identity authentication is a crucial line of defense for network security, and passwords are still the mainstream of identity authentication. So far trawling password attacking has been extensively studied, but the research related with personal information is always sporadic. Probabilistic context-free grammar (PCFG) and Markov chain-based models perform greatly well in trawling guessing. In this paper we propose a systematic targeted attacking model based on structure partition and string reorganization by migrating the above two models to targeted attacking, denoted as TG-SPSR. In structure partition phase, besides dividing passwords to basic structure similar to PCFG, we additionally define a trajectory-based keyboard pattern in the basic grammar and introduce index bits to accurately characterize the position of special characters. Moreover, we also construct a BiLSTM recurrent neural network classifier to characterize the behavior of password reuse and modification after defining nine kinds of modification rules. Extensive experimental results indicate that in online attacking, TG-SPSR outperforms traditional trawling attacking algorithms by average about 275%, and respectively outperforms its foremost counterparts, Personal-PCFG, TarGuess-I, by about 70% and 19%; In offline attacking, TG-SPSR outperforms traditional trawling attacking algorithms by average about 90%, outperforms Personal-PCFG and TarGuess-I by 85% and 30%, respectively.

  • Node identity authentication is an essential means to ensure the security of the Internet of Things. Existing blockchain-based IoT node authentication schemes have many problems. A heterogeneous IoT node authentication scheme based on an improved hybrid blockchain is proposed. Firstly, the hybrid blockchain model is designed to make the blockchain and IoT environment more compatible. Then the proxy node selection mechanism is intended to establish a bridge between the ordinary IoT node and the blockchain, building by calculating the trust value between nodes. Finally, based on the improved hybrid blockchain, the node authentication scheme of the model and proxy node selection mechanism establishes a secure connection for communication between nodes. Safety and performance analysis shows proper safety and performance.

  • Authentication is a mechanism to establish proof of identities, the authentication process ensure that. Who a particular user is. Nowadays PC and laptop user authentication systems are always done once a hold until s explicitly revoked by the user, or asking the user to frequently reestablish his identity which encouraging him to disable authentication. Zero-Interaction Authentication (ZIA) provides solution to this problem. In ZIA,. a user wears a small authentication token that communicates with a laptop over a short-range, wireless link. ZIA combine authentication with a file encryption. Here we proposed a Laptop-user Authentication Based Mobile phone (LABM). In our model of authentication, a user uses his Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone, which work as an authentication token that provides the authentication for laptop over a Bluetooth wireless link, m the concept of transient authentication with our combining It with encryption file system. The user authenticate to the mobile phone infrequently. In turn, the mobile phone continuously authenticates to the laptop by means of the short-range, wireless link.

  • Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) provides an interactive and personalized service for realizing integrated broadcasting and telecommunication services. Set-top box (SIB) connected to TV is an essential component required for IPTV and has a unique hardware identifier used in identification and authentication. It means that subscriber authentication based on box-level identification is inconsistent with IPTV's main intention of providing personalized services. The proposed solution is to provide an opportunity to use the flexible user-centric authentication mechanism through Java Card applets in IPTV application server and 3G networks. This paper suggests personalized services by moving the user's private data and authentication management beyond the STB to a truly personalized device, the ubiquitous mobile phone. In addition, this paper presents effectiveness and security analysis for verifying the proposal.

  • With the development of the Internet, user authentication technology that proves me online is improving. Existing ID methods pose a threat of personal information leakage if the service provider manages personal information and security is weak, and the information subject is to the service provider. In this study, as online identification technology develops, we propose a DID-based self-authentication model to prevent the threat of leakage of personal information from a centralized format and strengthen sovereignty. The proposed model allows users to directly manage personal information and strengthen their sovereignty over information topics through VC issued by the issuing agency. As a research method, a self-authentication model that guarantees security and integrity is presented using a decentralized identifier method based on distributed ledger technology, and the security of the attack method is analyzed. Because it authenticates through DID Auth using public key encryption algorithms, it is safe from sniffing, man in the middle attack, and the proposed model can replace real identity card.

  • Since the facilities for the remote users tend to be deployed in distributed manner, authentication schemes for multi-server communication settings, which provide various web services, are required for real-world applications. A typical way to authenticate a remote user relies on password authentication mostly. However, this method is vulnerable to attacks and inconvenient as the system requires users to maintain different identities and corresponding passwords. On the other hand, the user can make use of a single password for all servers, but she may be exposed to variants of malicious attacks. In this paper, we propose an efficient and secure authentication scheme based on a brokered authentication along with smart-cards in multi-server environment. Further we show that our scheme is secure against possible attacks and analyze its performance with respect to communication and computational cost.

  • GSM(Global System for Mobile communications) provides mobile users with portability and convenience as the most popular standard for mobile phones in the world. However, GSM system has the problem that can't normally authenticate a user by the exposure of IMSI(International Mobile Subscriber Identity) of Ms(Mobile station) during the user authentication procedure. In this paper, we propose secure user authentication by preventing the exposure if IMSI via transfer the encrypted IMSI from the HLR(Home Location Register) and making the only network entities verified from the HLR use the IMSI value, as the modified mechanism based on the original user authentication protocol to solve this authentication problem. Also the proposed mechanism provides fast user authentication without changing the architecture between new VLR and old VLR in the original GSM user authentication protocol as well as user's anonymity by using a temporary ID.

  • In digital contents distribution environments, a user authentication is an important security primitive to allow only authenticated user to use right services by checking the validity of membership. For example, in Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) environments, it is required to provide an access control according to the policy of content provider. Remote user authentication and key agreement scheme is used to validate the contents accessibility of a user. We propose a novel user authentication scheme using smart cards providing a secure access to multimedia contents service. Each user is authenticated using a subset of attributes which are issued in the registration phase without revealing individual's identity. Our scheme provides the anonymous authentication and the various permissions according to the combination of attributes which are assigned to each user. In spite of more functionality, the result of performance analysis shows that the computation and communication cost is very low. Using this scheme, the security of contents distribution environments in the client-server model can be significantly improved.

  • The national accredited certificate is a user certificate issued based on the user's personal information, which has been identified in advance, and has become a universal authentication method used for most electronic financial transactions and user authentication. And it contributed a lot to the use of e-government and domestic service. However, due to the lack of web standards on how to use, it was inconvenient to install a separate plug-in, and efforts to improve it have been continued. In this paper, we attempt to solve the problem of certificate usage environment by presenting the certificate digital signature method using the extension of the FIDO2 (Fast Identity Online v2) client to authentication protocol (CTAP) specification.
