We need a component-based system to reflect software changes in user's requirements, to implement a system at a rapid speed as well as to efficiently manage the system in a maintenance phase and to easily change software. Moreover, the component-based system has a merit in development cost. However, existing component development methodology for implement of component-based system is inefficient in object identification for component identification. Moreover, the existing component development methodology also fails to provide any method to identify system component. It merely provides procedures and methods to identify business component focused on a whole system domain. In addition, it has another problem that it considerably relies on developer's experiences and intuitions for component identification. Therefore, according to this paper, RUP (Rational Unified Process) is applied from a requirement analysis phase to an object identification phase in order to improve the inefficiency of object identification. In addition, this paper procedures and methods for system component identification, and identifies business components based on the identified system component, rather than on the whole system domain. This paper also provides and applies cohesion metric and coupling metric so as to overcome the problem that component identification depends on developer's intuitions and experiences. Accordingly, the component identification method proposed in this paper, may identify components more effectively based on facility of object identification, functional reusability of components, traceability, and independence of components.
The major objective of this research is to identify those hospital characteristics that best explain cost variation among hospitals and to formulate linear models that can predict hospital costs. Specific emphasis is placed on hospital output, that is, the identification of diagnosis related patient groups (DRGs) which are medically meaningful and demonstrate similar patterns of hospital resource consumption. A casemix index is developed based on the DRGs identified. Considering the common problems encountered in previous hospital cost research, the following study requirements are estab-lished for fulfilling the objectives of this research: 1. Selection of hospitals that exercise similar medical and fiscal practices. 2. Identification of an appropriate data collection mechanism in which demographic and medical characteristics of individual patients as well as accurate and comparable cost information can be derived. 3. Development of a patient classification system in which all the patients treated in hospitals are able to be split into mutually exclusive categories with consistent and stable patterns of resource consumption. 4. Development of a cost finding mechanism through which patient groups' costs can be made comparable across hospitals. A data set of Medicare patients prepared by the Social Security Administration was selected for the study analysis. The data set contained 27,229 record abstracts of Medicare patients discharged from all but one short-term general hospital in Connecticut during the period from January 1, 1971, to December 31, 1972. Each record abstract contained demographic and diagnostic information, as well as charges for specific medical services received. The 'AUT-OGRP System' was used to generate 198 DRGs in which the entire range of Medicare patients were split into mutually exclusive categories, each of which shows a consistent and stable pattern of resource consumption. The 'Departmental Method' was used to generate cost information for the groups of Medicare patients that would be comparable across hospitals. To fulfill the study objectives, an extensive analysis was conducted in the following areas: 1. Analysis of DRGs: in which the level of resource use of each DRG was determined, the length of stay or death rate of each DRG in relation to resource use was characterized, and underlying patterns of the relationships among DRG costs were explained. 2. Exploration of resource use profiles of hospitals; in which the magnitude of differences in the resource uses or death rates incurred in the treatment of Medicare patients among the study hospitals was explored. 3. Casemix analysis; in which four types of casemix-related indices were generated, and the significance of these indices in the explanation of hospital costs was examined. 4. Formulation of linear models to predict hospital costs of Medicare patients; in which nine independent variables (i. e., casemix index, hospital size, complexity of service, teaching activity, location, casemix-adjusted death. rate index, occupancy rate, and casemix-adjusted length of stay index) were used for determining factors in hospital costs. Results from the study analysis indicated that: 1. The system of 198 DRGs for Medicare patient classification was demonstrated not only as a strong tool for determining the pattern of hospital resource utilization of Medicare patients, but also for categorizing patients by their severity of illness. 2. The wei틴fed mean total case cost (TOTC) of the study hospitals for Medicare patients during the study years was $11,27.02 with a standard deviation of $117.20. The hospital with the highest average TOTC ($1538.15) was 2.08 times more expensive than the hospital with the lowest average TOTC ($743.45). The weighted mean per diem total cost (DTOC) of the study hospitals for Medicare patients during the sutdy years was $107.98 with a standard deviation of $15.18. The hospital with the highest average DTOC ($147.23) was 1.87 times more expensive than the hospital with the lowest average DTOC ($78.49). 3. The linear models for each of the six types of hospital costs were formulated using the casemix index and the eight other hospital variables as the determinants. These models explained variance to the extent of 68.7 percent of total case cost (TOTC), 63.5 percent of room and board cost (RMC), 66.2 percent of total ancillary service cost (TANC), 66.3 percent of per diem total cost (DTOC), 56.9 percent of per diem room and board cost (DRMC), and 65.5 percent of per diem ancillary service cost (DTANC). The casemix index alone explained approximately one half of interhospital cost variation: 59.1 percent for TOTC and 44.3 percent for DTOC. Thsee results demonstrate that the casemix index is the most importand determinant of interhospital cost variation Future research and policy implications in regard to the results of this study is envisioned in the following three areas: 1. Utilization of casemix related indices in the Medicare data systems. 2. Refinement of data for hospital cost evaluation. 3. Development of a system for reimbursement and cost control in hospitals.

NDF (No Defect Found) is a phenomenon in which defects have been found in the manufacturing, operation and use of a product or facility, but phenomenon of defects is not reproduced in the subsequent investigation system or the cause of the defects cannot be identified. Recently, with the development of the fourth industrial revolution, convergence of hardware and software technologies in various fields is spreading to products such as aircraft, home appliances, and mobile devices, and the number of parts is increasing due to functional convergence. The application of such convergence technologies and the increase in the number of parts are major factors that lead to an increase in NDF phenomena. NDF phenomena have a significant negative impact on cost, reliability, and reliability for both manufacturers, service providers and operators. On the other hand, due to the nature of NDF phenomena such as difficult and intermittent cause identification and ambiguity in judgment, it is common to underestimate the cost of NDF or fail to take appropriate countermeasures in corporate management. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a methodology for estimating NDF costs by the PAF model which is a quality cost analysis model and ABC (Activity Based Costing) technique. The methodology of this study suggests a detailed procedure and the concept to accurately estimate the NDF costs, using ABC analysis, accounting system information, and IT system data. In addition case studies have validated the methodology. We think this could be a valid methodology to refer to when estimating the cost of other parts. And, it is meaningful to provide important judgment information in the decision-making process based on quality management and ultimately reduce NDF costs by visualizing them separately by major variable factors.

RFID(Radio frequency IDentification) is a technology that automatically identifies objects containing the electronic tags by using radio wave. The multi-tag identification problem is the core issue in the RFID and could be resolved by the anti-collision algorithm. However, most of the existing anti-collision algorithms have a problem of heavy implementation cost and low performance. In this paper. we propose a new tree based memoryless anti-collision algorithm called a collision tracking tree algorithm and presents its performance evaluation results obtained by simulation. The Collision Tracking Tree algorithm proves itself the capability of an identification rate of 749 tags per second and the performance evaluation results also show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the other two existing tree-based memoryless algorithms, i.e., the tree-walking algorithm and the query tree algorithm about 49 and 2.4 times respectively.

As digital environment rapidly changes, various identification infrastructures have been introduced. It inevitably caused the Interoperability issue between the identifiers. Especially, Interoperability issue between the same kinds of identifiers raised the problems such as decreasing usefulness and cost overhead for making bridge system. In this paper, we resolve this issue by suggesting ID mashup service based on XRI. Although both UCI and ICN are the dominant identification infrastructures in the soundsource domain, the modification of identifiers or the requirement of complex system are essential for Interoperability. The ID mashup service suggested in the paper is able to provide interoperable functions to outer world without modifying the structures and resolution service of both identification infrastructures.

The swine is one of the most widespread mammalian throughout the whole world. Presently, many studies concerning microsatellites in swine, especially domestic pigs, have been carried out in order to investigate general diversity patterns among either populations or breeds. Until now, a lot of time and effort spend into a single PCR method. But simple and more rapid multiplex PCR methods have been developed. The purpose of this study is to develop a robust set of microsatellites markers (MS marker) for traceability and individual identification. Using multiplex-PCR method with 23 MS marker divided 2 set, various alleles occurring to 5 swine breed (Berkshire, Landrace, Yorkshire, Duroc and Korea native pig) used markers to determine allele frequency and heterozygosity. MS marker found 4 alleles at SW403, S0227, SWR414, SW1041 and SW1377. The most were found 10 alleles at SW1920. Heterozygosity represented the lowest value of 0.102 at SWR414 and highest value of 0.861 at SW1920. So, it was recognized appropriate allele frequency for individual identification in swine. Using multiplex-PCR method, MS markers used to determine individual identification biomarker and breed-specific marker for faster, more accurate and lower analysis cost. Based on this result, a scientific basis was established to the existing pedigree data by applying genetics additionally. Swine traceability is expected to be very useful system and be conducted nationwide in future.
Kinematic calibration is a process whereby the actual values of geometric parameters are estimated so as to minimize the error in absolute positioning. Measuring all components of Cartesian posture, particularly the orientation, can be difficult. With partial pose measurements, all parameters may not be identifiable. This paper proposes a new device that can identify all kinematic parameters with partial pose measurements. Study is performed for a six degree-of-freedom fully parallel Hexa Slide manipulator. The device, however, is general and can be used for other parallel manipulators. The proposed device consists of a link with U joints on both sides and is equipped with a rotary sensor and a biaxial inclinometer. When attached between the base and the mobile platform, the device restricts the end-effector's motion to five degree-of-freedom and can measure position of the end-effector and one of its rotations. Numerical analyses of the identification Jacobian reveal that all parameters are identifiable. Computer simulations show that the identification is robust for the errors in the initial guess and the measurement noise. Intrinsic inaccuracies of the device can significantly deteriorate the calibration results. A measurement procedure is proposed and formulations of cost functions are discussed to prevent propagation of the inaccuracies to the calibration results.

The purpose of this paper is to improve the hysteresis characteristics of a stack type piezoelectric actuator using system identification and tracking control. Recently, several printing methods that cost less and are faster than previous semiconductor processes have been developed for the production of electric paper and RFID. The system proposed in this study prints by spraying the molten metal, and consists of a nozzle, heating furnace, operating actuator, and an XYZ 3-axis stage, As an operating system, the piezoelectric(PZT) method has very valuable uses. However, the PZT actuator has a very big hysteresis characteristic due to the ferroelectric characteristics of the PZT element. This causes problems in the system position control characteristics and deteriorates the performance of the system. In this study, an investigation was conducted to improve the hysteresis characteristics of the PZT actuator that has an output displacement for the input voltage. The study proposed a inverse hysteresis model, a mathematic modeling method that can express the geometric relationship between voltage and displacement, in order to reduce the hysteresis of the PZT actuator. In addition, system identification and PID control methods were examined. Also, it was confirmed that the proposed control strategy gives good precision position control performance.
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is an automatic identification method. Information such as identification, logistics history, and specification of products are written and stored into the memory of RFID tags (that is, transponders), and retrieved through RF communication between RFID reader device and RFID tags. RFID systems have been applied to many fields of transportation, industry, logistics, environment, etc in order to improve business efficiency and reduce maintenance cost as well. Recently, some research results are announced in which RFID devices are combined with other sensors for mobile robot localization. In this paper, design of multi-protocol baseband for RFID reader device is proposed, and the baseband modem is implemented into SoC (System On a Chip). The baseband modem SoC for multi-protocol RFID reader is composed of several IP (Intellectual Property) blocks such as multi-protocol blocks, CPU, UART(Universal Asynchronous Receiver and Transmitter), memory, etc. As a result, the SoC implemented with FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) is applied to real product. It is shown that the size of RFID Reader module designed with the FPGA becomes smaller, and the SoC chip price for the same function becomes cheap. In addition, operation performance could be the same or better than that of the product with no SoC applied.

Material Management is one of the most important task in construction projects. More than 50% of the cost in a construction project is related to material management process. Material management method using RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) is now trying to the construction field. However, there are no enough researches on effective material management in terms of how and where RFID transponder should be installed and there are no other research that which optimization method can be used for effective installation. Therefore, this paper suggest that where and how RFID transponder can be installed on the appropriate position in construction fields using Genetic Algorithm optimization method.
