  • The relevance of the published study lies in the fact that since the introduction of the first Global Distribution System, new information and communication technologies have constantly been changing the tourism industry. In the context of a current digital environment, travel agencies can't avoid participating in digital transformation processes aimed at rethinking operational models, skills, and organisational structures in the regions. This publication aims to present and provide a critical overview of digitalisation processes in tourism development in the regions of the Russian Federation, as well as to reflect on the challenges to the widespread digitalisation processes in the regional tourism sector. The subject of research is digitalisation processes, as they radically transform the modern tourism industry, in the regions as well. The pragmatic research paradigm was considered the most appropriate for the study of tourism digitalisation processes in the regions, as it does not require the selection of a specific theoretical basis for data collection. The pragmatic approach forms an alternative to classical theoretical approaches and serves as a particular type of grounded theory, combining both inductive and deductive methods. No software was used for the inductive part of the analysis. The deductive part was conducted using the qualitative data analysis software Nvivo 11. Given the wide diversity of interested parties in the regional tourism digital area, a stratified purposive sampling method was preferred due to its ability to adequately represent the full picture of the phenomenon under study. The selection and stratum criteria were chosen to maximise the representation of different perspectives in the regional tourism digital area. The novelty of the study is due to the digitalisation processes, with an implication of new needs, while opening up promising opportunities for more productive tourism business in the regions of the Russian Federation. Currently, e-tourism in the Russian Federation has become a subject of lively debate among scholars and practitioners. However, the involvement of advanced digitalisation technologies in the field of information processes in the regions of the Russian Federation is of a very sporadic character.

  • With increasing demand for nuclear power generation, nuclear structures are being planned and constructed worldwide. A grave safety concern is that these structures are sensitive to large-magnitude shaking, e.g., during earthquakes. Seismic response analysis, which requires P- and S-wave velocities, is a key element in nuclear structure design. Accordingly, it is important to determine the P- and S-wave velocities in the Gyeongju and Pohang regions of South Korea, which are home to nuclear power plants and have a history of seismic activity. P- and S-wave velocities can be obtained indirectly through a correlation with physical properties (e.g., N values, Young's modulus, and uniaxial compressive strength), and researchers worldwide have proposed regression equations. However, the Gyeongju and Pohang regions of Korea have not been considered in previous studies. Therefore, a database was constructed for these regions. The database includes physical properties such as N values and P- and S-wave velocities of the soil layer, as well as the uniaxial compressive strength, Young's modulus, and P- and S-wave velocities of the bedrock layer. Using the constructed database, the geological characteristics and distribution of physical properties of the study region were analyzed. Furthermore, models for predicting P- and S-wave velocities were developed for soil and bedrock layers in the Gyeongju and Pohang regions. In particular, the model for predicting the S-wave velocity for the soil layers was compared with models from previous studies, and the results indicated its effectiveness in predicting the S-wave velocity for the soil layers in the Gyeongju and Pohang regions using the N values. The proposed models for predicting P- and S-wave velocities will contribute to predicting the damage caused by earthquakes.

  • The purpose of this study is to classify the Korean precipitation regions on the basis of the characteristics of extratropical cyclonic precipitation. From now on, extratropical cyclone is called cyclone in short. By using factor analysis and Ward method in cluster analysis, precipitation regions on the basis of the characteristics of cyclonic precipitation are classified The principal data used in this study are daily precipitation records obtained from 60 weather stations of the Korea Meteorological Service during the ten years($1981{\sim}1990$), and weather charts published by the Japan Meteorological Agency. The results obtained in this study are summarized as follows: (1) In the factor analysis using 43 variables which have relation to the extratropical cyclonic precipitations, They are seven factors whose eigenvalues are above 1.0. This explains 86 percent of total amount. The first factor explains the characteristics of precipitation in the middle-west area and its contribution degree has the highest 10.9 percent. (2) According to the cluster analysis method of Ward, extratropical cyclonic precipitation regions are classified seven macro regions(such as Kyungki and North Youngseo, Youngdong and Ullungdo, Hoseo and South Youngseo, Honam and Northwest Chejudo, Southeast Chejudo, North Youngnam, and South Youngnam), 22 meso regions. (3) The characteristics of precipitation regions have relations to the path of cyclone, the direction of air inflow and the strike of mountain ranges. As the conclusion, the Central China Low brings much precipitation in the southern coast and southern area of Korea as moving to the northeastward. The North China Low moves eastward and brings much precipitation in the western area of the Taeback mountain ranges. The probability of extratropical cyclonic precipitation is the lowest in the inland of Yeongnam and the eastern coastal areas which belong to the rain shadow region. Namely, The seasonal and spatial characteristics of precipitation are closely associated with the path of cyclone and the direction of air inflow according to its passage, and the strike of mountain ranges.

  • The major concern of this paper is to investigate the properties of a stochastic equilibrium for each model system in terms of a consumer welfare measure. The primary assumption for this study is that a trip-maker would choose the trip from his origin zone which maximizes his personal welfare. This assumption, finally, leads to a singly constrained gravity model. The consumer welfare measure is derived from the concept of expected welfare of randomly sampled trip-makers. Each of the four different models considered in this paper is differentiated depending on the complexity of its model or the definition of its travel function. In this study, three different regions are chosen for the purpose of taking into account the effects of different zone-systems on the properties of a stochastic equilibrium : (i) Archerville region (5 zone) ; (ii) San Francisco Bay regions (30 zones) ; (iii) Houston, TX region (199 zones). It is concluded that almost identical, "global" consumer welfare values can be obtained in some cases of the gravity-type trip distribution models based on a stochastic equilibrium.

  • Accoring to many studies which concerned with the types of folk houses, there are many types of folk houses in Korean peninsula and its areal distribution had been determined by the barrier of mountains, in general. But we have neglected to examine the overlapped areal distribution still now. If two types of culture with different housing type contact at one region, it may interrelated each other and invent certain exclusive charicteristics. And there are its own attitude of traditional culture in Kyung-buk provingce where serveral types of folk houses settled together. The purpose of this research is to clarify the general pattern of culture in terms of folk houses in northern Kyung-buk province and to suggest a clue to solve the cultural inter-relationship each other, By classification of the collected plans in this area, the authors try to find out the charicteristics of the serveral types and there areal distribution. Finally, we can find out that certain types of folk houses located in northern Kyung-buk province had formed their cultural regions and these homogeneous regions are overlapped, partly.

  • Array comparative genomic hybridization (aCGH) has been used to detect chromosomal regions of amplifications or deletions, which allows identification of new cancer related genes. As aCGH, a large-scale spatial data, contains significant amount of noises in its raw data, it has been an important research issue to segment genomic DNA regions to detect its true underlying copy number aberrations (CNAs). In this study, we focus on applying a segmentation method to multiple data sets. We compare two different threshold values for analyzing aCGH data with CBS method [1]. The proposed threshold values are p-value or $Q{\pm}1.5IQR$ and $Q{\pm}1.5IQR$.

  • Optical microscopy of recently living and cleared material of the fucoid, Ascophyllum nodosum (L.) Le Jolis, revealed novel aspects of its interaction with the ascomycete Mycophycias ascophylli (Cotton) Kohlmeyer and Kohlmeyer (previously Mycosphaerella ascophylli Cotton). Most host cells are associated with hyphae by lateral attachment of cell walls. Hyphae form extensive networks throughout the host thallus and show considerable differentiation in the various host tissues. In the base of epidermal cells, hyphae form multicellular rings around each host cell to produce a continuous network. In medullary regions, long, relatively unbranched and longitudinally aligned hyphae occur, with radial branches extending into cortical regions. Scattered in the inner cortex of host tissue are numerous multicellular nodes of smaller, polygonal to irregular shaped cells with five or more radiating arms of hyphae. Individual hyphal cells show a variety of specializations including swellings and appressoria-like attachments to some host cells. These observations provide the morphological basis for the mutualistic symbiosis supported by recent experimental work. We conclude that this association is best described by the term “symbiotum.”

  • This paper aims to study regional difference in strawberry farming technology and its causal factors based on the survey of controlled strawberry farmers in three major strawberry cultivating regions, which are Nonsan county of Chungnam Province, Damyang County of Junnam Province and Guchang County of Kyungnam Province. There are differences in variety adoption, packaging and grading method which cause the farming income gap among these regions. Farmers of Guchang County, who adopt new variety Yeobong and packing system, raised highest gross receipts but ranked next to Damyang in terms of net income because of high packing cost. Farmers of Nonsan County earned lowest income because of poor quality and low price in spite of adopting packing cost saving method. Therefore, results of this study shows that successful farming technology depend on whether or not farmers adopt market oriented technology. It is suggested that direction of strawberry farming technology should focus on adopting new varieties which can contribute to increasing farmers' paid price and developing technology of reducing cost such as labor saving and packing machine.

  • This paper deals with the pure bending of incompressible elastic perfectly plastic two-layer sheets under plane strain conditions at large strains. Each layer is classified by its yield stress, shear modulus of elasticity and its initial percentage thickness in relation to the whole sheet. The solution found is semi-analytic. In particular, a numerical technique is only necessary to solve transcendental equations. The general solution is cumbersome because different analytic expressions for the radial and circumferential stresses should be adopted in different regions of the whole sheet. In particular, there are several alternative ways a plastic region (or plastic regions) can propagate. However, for any given set of material and process parameters the solution to the problem consists of a sequence of rather simple analytic expressions connected by transcendental equations. The general solution is illustrated by a simple example.
