  • Labor productivity is a significant factor associated with controlling time, cost, and quality. Many researchers have developed models to define methods of measuring the relationship between productivity and various parameters such as the size of working area, maximum working hours, and the crew composition. Most of the previous research has focused on estimating productivity; however, this research concentrates on estimating labor productivity and developing time and cost data for repetitive concrete pouring activity. In Korea, "Standard Estimating" only entails the average productivity data of the construction industry, and it is difficult to predict the time and cost spent on any particular project. As a result, errors occur in estimating duration and cost for individual activities or projects. To address these issues, this research sought to collect data, measure productivity, and develop time and cost data using labor productivity based on field conditions from the collected data. A probabilistic approach is also proposed to develop data. A case study is performed to validate this process using actual data collected from construction sites. It is possible that the result will be used as the EVMS baseline of cost management and schedule management.

  • This study compared the labor productivity of the construction industry to the manufacturing and service industries. In addition, It analyzed the construction labor productivity gap of the G7 countries based on data from the Korean Productivity Center. A comparative analysis of construction labor productivity between manufacturing and service industries, based on statistics from the National Statistical Office, revealed a relatively low level and trend of continued decline. In addition, a comparative analysis of the productivity of construction workers in the major G7 countries found that the difference in productivity is very large, with an average of 65.3 %. Therefore, domestic construction companies and the government should prepare Improvement measures to improve productivity by investing in technology development to increase labor productivity and improving the production system of the construction industry.

  • The purpose of this paper is to survey existing literature and empirical studies about the effect of unions on productivity and productivity growth in US and British. Evidence regarding union effects on productivity is incomplete in the studies surveyed in this paper. Unions have a positive effect on productivity in US, but the most of studies in British show that unions have a negative effect. But the direction and magnitude of union effects on productivity growth cannot be predicted from economic theory. It may be that there is no unitary relationship between unions and productivity growth. The comprehensive conclusion about the effects of unions on productivity growth cannot be drawn from the studies surveyed in this paper. The question of whether unions have a positive effect or negative effect on productivity and productivity growth is an empirical issue.

  • This study public hospital productivity and private hospitals, comparative analysis was divided into capital productivity, labor productivity, value-added productivity, based on the findings public hospitals are able to ensure the public interest to provide stable and profitable health services of good quality. It proposes measures to improve productivity. Investigation period were based on the fiscal year 2013, the target of 39 public hospitals are private hospitals surveyed were selected for a total of 147 hospitals with 108. ANOVA analysis was performed the analysis, hierarchical regression analysis. In the conclusions showed as the most important factor in the profitability of labor productivity, the productivity of public hospitals variables, because exert a significant impact on the productivity and efficiency of future public hospitals are required to establish an effective personnel management system. It should also Productivity and specific assessment of the effective management be analyzed by the association between the margins would have to be.

  • Global R&D environment is entering on more complicated aspect gradually and tends to increase sharply in a quantitative manner. Technology competition is getting higher. This study intends to raise recognition of a necessity of productivity in a rapidly-changing R&D field and to suggest alternatives for improving its research productivity. For it, the research productivity was analyzed by utilizing two processes of patent analysis and paper analysis. According to the analysis result, it can be confirmed that Korea has the low research productivity compared to advanced countries such as USA and Japan. Government-supported research institute showed the relatively low research productivity, compared to foreign research institutes. It is confirmed that the company research institute has better research productivity than the government-supported research institute. Analyzing the present situation of research productivity through such the patent and paper analysis, seems to contribute to suggest how the research must be done in order to identify the factor of hampering the competitiveness acquisition and to improve the future R&D productivity.

  • It is widely known that the increased productivity lead to a decrease in energy consumption. The policy for reducing energy consumption is also focusing on the improvement of firm's productivity. However, the issue of productivity dilemma phenomenon is recently raised in various fields. It is phenomenon that the increased productivity rather lead to a increased in energy consumption through a rise in output. This paper analyzed the presence of productivity dilemma in korean firm using Tang et al(2015)'s theoretical model. To closely analyze, I performed the analysis using 715 firms during 2011-2015 and estimated the model using system GMM to minimize the endogeneity. The results show that total effect of productivity had a significantly negative coefficient. It is implies that the increased productivity doesn't increase energy consumption. In other word, this paper could not identified productivity dilemma and so did in overseas investment firm and national firm cases.

  • This paper represents an exploratory effort to test empirically the contingent relationships between the contextual variables, such as user task characteristics and personality, and the information characteristics of Accounting Information Systems (AIS), and to prove the effects of influence factors on the increase of personal office productivity. In this study, it was suggested that personal office productivity is influenced by the fit between the contextual variables and the information dimensions of ALS. It was also proved that influence factors have a positive effect on the increase of personal office productivity.

  • It is critical that all companies improve productivity in order to maintain their international competitiveness. The productivity can be explained as a measurement of effectiveness that is calculated by "the ratio of what is produced to what is required to produce it". The goal of this paper is to enhance productivity for a small fast food company mainly through work analysis. This work analysis will help the company to downsize by improving efficiency via motion analysis and by reduction of losses via facility improvement.provement.

  • TO select the most suitable crop and variety of forage for productivity at the southern part of Korea, The crops of wheat, barley and rye were grown from Oct. 1999 to June 2000. Paldanghomil variety of rye crop was shown to have the highest productivity in comparison to other varieties of crops used in this experiment. It showed relatively high plant height, number of tiller, forage yield and dry matter yield. There fore, it was concluded that Paldanghomil of rye crop was the most suitable crop with high yield in the southern part of Korea. The heritabilities of all characters were estimated to be high.
