  • With the advent of Ubiquitous era, Korean government understood its strategic importance and formulated 'IT839 Strategies' with various action plans not to miss the great opportunities which it may allow and eventually to realize u-Korea. As a result, m-Commerce is actualized and new types of Ubiquitous services such as digital multimedia broadcasting(DMB) and wireless broadband Internet(WiBro) are now on their commercial stages. Digital contents are the key success factors of these new services. Digital contents industry is regarded as next generation of growth engine in the digital economy, because it is knowledge-based and high value-added global industry affecting positively on the whole private and public sectors. This paper reviewed the characteristics, business models, technical and market trend of digital contents to be compatible with Ubiquitous environment. Also, it reviewed the development strategies of DMB and WiBro services, which are newly introduced and commercialized in Korea to make it as world leader in these fields. It may be concluded that Korea should make more efforts to development market-oriented digital contents for Ubiquitous era and to realize the sustained economic growth.

A Study for Contents Complement related to Ocean of the Kindergarten' guidebooks and Elementary School' Textbooks (유치원과 초등학교 교과서의 해양관련 내용 보완을 위한 연구)

  • It is required to amend the manuals and textbooks that have contents related an ocean. There are 4 manuals covered about an ocean from all of 12 manuals for the course of the kindergarten education. And there are also 47 textbooks related an ocean among 145 books for an elementary course of study. It is necessary to analyze educational goal, contents, and other concerns. Here is the amendment against present manuals and textbooks. The objective for teaching the kindergarten is involved in the manuals properly. But, It is required to revise 'the oceanic artificial environment and facilities', and 'marine pollution' in contents of the manual. Some contents don't mention about an ocean, so it is necessary to add photos and maps covered with marine parts. Plus, there are no mentions about the value and attitude for an educational goal in the elementary textbooks. And it is required to add the solutions to conserve the sea and ethics about oceanic preservation. Also, it is needed to utilize cartoons and maps which give students interest.

  • To nurture skilled IT professionals required in the 21st information society, we have been faced to the need of learner-centered open lifelong education through the e-learning system that crosses the boundaries of time, space and geography. The object of this research is primarily as-is analysis of the IT contents in present cyber institutions, then making out the basic research data by to-be analysis and international standardization trend through benchmarking. Eventually this research intends to produce a prototype of the contents especially for the subjects related to the IT which is based on the modeling of e-Learning standard contents development model. It is possible that the final output of this project is used for the contents producing and operating data in cyber universities and institutions. This output also enhances the international competitiveness by the standardization and presents a standardized guideline to the domestic cyber education institutions.

Design and Development of XR Contents Authoring Framework for IT Convergence Education (융합영상콘텐츠 교육을 위한 XR 콘텐츠저작 프레임워크 설계 및 제작)

  • Despite the growing educational demand for the extended reality (XR) convergence content creation for non-IT students, fewer studies have attempted to education material development. In this paper, non-IT students' requirement to create XR convergence contents was analyzed and designed framework system specification. The object-oriented application framework (OOAF) was developed for non-IT students to create XR convergence contents through simple interaction methods such as drag and drop in-game engines. To evaluate the developed framework XR contents development course was operated with 26 industrial design majors sophomore in university. More than 90% of students succeeded in working on prototype XR contents in Oculus Rift. This result will be expected to improve the quality of XR contents creation education for non-IT students and contribute to the growth of the future convergence contents industry.

  • Informative contents Industry shows stable capital structure, excellent profit index high growth rate and high productivity on the average in step with the evolution of digital technology, but it shows the aggravating trend gradually in almost all the indexes. It is because the enlargement of supply market proceeds so faster than the increase of market demand that the competition is intensified and relatively easy to advance into the market according to the development of informative contents industry. The exploitation of new market and the reclamation of new technology are needed to contrive the continuous prosperity of informative contents industry, and to achieve this, it is needed to support from politic financing and taxation politic aspect.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of online writing contents on college students' learning strategy, achievement motivation, and knowledge sharing attitudes. Online writing contents were developed in the 4th class and operated as a extracurricular. The contents were developed in 25 minutes and included quizzes for learning activities. Changes in learning strategy, achievement motivation, and knowledge sharing attitude were analyzed for 149 students who finally completed online writing contents operated as a extracurricular. As a result of the analysis, it was found that online writing contents had a significant effect on college students' learning strategy, achievement motivation, and knowledge sharing attitude. Online contents is not limited by time and space, and since it can be used according to the learning plan, the utilization effect is attracting attention. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct various studies such as developing contents tailored to the needs of students and analyzing their effects.

  • This study has began to develop a method for the student major in visual communication and media design to allow them approach to digital contents design developing process in easier and more effective way. The aim of this study is to investigate the potential significance of developing analogue contents design as one of the preliminary works in the digital contents design developing process. The results revealed that designing analogue contents as one of the preliminary works of the digital contents design is: Firstly, it reduces students' mental pressure in organizing the structure of overall information clusters at the phase of information architecture. Secondly, it helps students to find out the object and the preferable form of information design intuitively in the process of information design. Lastly, it is helpful for students to understand the characteristics of digital contents design through clarifying the differences between analogue contents design and digital contents design.
