Conceptualization of Smart Tourism Destination Competitiveness

  • This paper aims to develop a conceptual model of smart tourism destination competitiveness to provide implications in terms of smart tourism destination realization and smart tourism destination competitiveness development. A literature review on tourism destination competitiveness and smart tourism destination is performed. A conceptual model is suggested on the basis of the model of destination competitiveness developed by Crouch and Ritchie (1999). The suggested conceptual model integrates the traditional concepts of comparative advantages and competitive advantages, seven core resources and attractors, and five destination management factors. Smart technology is included as a new core resource and attractor in the model. This study is the first to comprehensively conceptualize smart tourism destination competitiveness. Moreover, this study has practical value in the sense that it focused on the convergence between smart technology and other factors.

건설기업의 녹색건설 경쟁력 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Competitiveness of Green Construction in Construction Firms)

  • 건설산업에 있어서 녹색 또는 그린(Green)은 차세대 신 성장동력의 핵심적인 키워드로 부상하고 있다. 녹색건설 경쟁력을 갖추는 것은 건설기업의 생존과 발전을 위해 중요하며 이를 위해 녹색건설 경쟁력 요인에 대한 이해는 필수적이다. 본 연구의 목적은 건설기업이 녹색건설 경쟁력을 확보하기 위해 요구되는 경쟁력 요인을 발굴하고 Gap 분석 기법을 통해 경쟁력 요인의 중요도와 현 수준을 분석하여 주요 특징과 시사점을 도출하는데 있다. 녹색건설 경쟁력 요인에 대한 이해는 건설기업의 녹색건설 전략 수립을 위한 선행 작업이며 동시에 녹색건설 관련 정책 및 제도 수립에 있어 건설기업에게 어떤 동기부여를 해야 하는지를 이해하기 위해 필수적이다. 본 연구를 통해 나타난 주요 결과를 요약하면, 첫째, 녹색건설 경쟁력의 중요도와 현 수준을 분석한 결과 중요도와 비교하여 현 수준이 모두 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 녹색건설 경쟁력의 중요도와 현 수준 관점에서 CEO 역량 부문은 큰 격차가 없는 것으로 나타났지만 기업 역량 부문에서는 큰 격차가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 녹색건설의 R&D 전략과 녹색건설 협력업체의 보유 및 협업 역량이 중요도와 현 수준의 차이(Gap)가 가장 크게 나타났다.

한국 IT산업의 대중국 수출경쟁력 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Export Competitiveness of Korea IT Industry to China)

  • As it is expected that change in trade environment has a significant impact on Korean economic growth as well as foreign trade of Korean economy we need an appropriate political response to it. Therefore, this study aims to analyse the Export Competitiveness of IT Industry to China and our trade policy. Korean balance of trade to China in 2007 records surplus of 18.9 billion dollars. However, many experts estimate unfavorable balance of trade will appear from 2010. In consideration of this condition, this study suggests a desirable trade policy for long-term maintenance of current Export Competitiveness between Korea and China. Using TSI and RCA, it analyses a Export Competitiveness of IT Industry to China from 2003 to 2007. To sum up the results, the TSI has been declining since 2005. RCA of semi-conductors has been declining since 2005 while that of communication equipment and computers has been increasing. During the analysis period, the mean RCA of semi-conductors is 55.01, which indicates that its export advantage is somewhat weak, and the mean RCA of communication equipment and computers are 227.22 and 175.83 respectively, which indicates that their export advantage is very strong. Production and export of Korea IT industry have greatly increased in quantity, but its technological quality and diversity have not been satisfactory. In particular, the base of IT industry is growing weaker due to serious dependence of core spare parts on advanced countries and transfer of simple assembly plants to China. To maintain export competitiveness of IT industry, we should pay more attention to technological improvement through more investment to the original technology for local production of core spare parts.

  • 프랑스에서 2004년부터 국가주도로 실시되고 경쟁거점 정책은 '프랑스형 클러스터 모델'로서, 기업 간 파트너십, R&D 중심 협력프로젝트, 세계적 수준의 경쟁력을 추구하는 개념이다. 그동안 프랑스가 추진해온 지방분권적 거버넌스 구축의 결실이기도 한 이 정책은 우리나라의 관련 정책들에 시사 하는 바가 크다. 본 연구는 먼저 90년대 말 실시된 프랑스 최초의 본격적인 클러스터 정책인 지역생산시스템(SPL), 이를 더욱 발전시키고 새로운 국토정책 사조에 따라 재정립한 경쟁거점 정책의 주요 측면을 살펴보겠다. 그리고 프랑스 국토정책 기조 전반에 입각하여 경쟁거점 정책의 의의를 분석하며 우리에게 주는 시사점을 비교적 관점에서 도출하고자 한다. 비교 대상으로는 우리나라 혁신클러스터 정책 외에도 기업도시나 혁신도시 등 클러스터 개념이 접목된 일련의 국토정책들이 될 것이다.

인천항 물류애로요인 분석에 관한 연구;컨테이너 화물을 중심으로 (A Study on Analyzing Bottlenecks of Logistics in Incheon Port;Focused on Container Freight)

  • As the current trend to the main index of the port competitiveness evaluation, the competitiveness index of the port service comes to more important than the part of expense, location and facility. To reform the bottleneck of port has an effect on improving port service competitiveness. Therefore, this study shows the importance of analyzing bottlenecks on logistics to improve port competitiveness. It collected recent questionnaire data which are the subject as the Custom Service, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Trade Association about bottlenecks of port logistics for working out bottlenecks of domestic port logistics and it produced the order of priorities of bottlenecks by multiplying each output priorities and weights of each process in user of Incheon inner-outer port which is focused on container freight by analysis of priority and Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP). Unlike existing studies, this study has important values. It presents the priority evaluation only focused on the container freight was produced by port users who are categorized into shipping company, terminal operation company and forwarder, car-ferry in Incheon inner-outer port and making a application of logistics process. It means internal and external competitiveness improvement plan can be presented more concretely and detailed than past competitiveness attributes such as location, facility, service and expense. If the analysis of port logistics bottlenecks which was focused on container freight is extended to the part of general cargo and sundries such as haul grain, car, scrap iron, those studies will be able to provide Incheon port users with useful information and a model of analyzing overall bottleneck of logistics in Incheon port.

  • This paper provides a method to evaluate the competitiveness based on IT innovativeness considering the adoption phase and shows how to apply the method with a case of foreign market in the early-adoptive phase. The proposed method considers a variety of corporate and market characteristics concerned with the technology adoption, and it consists of several internal and external impacting factors that can influence the level of IT diffusion. Main advantage of this method is the ease of its applicability that allows evaluating the innovativeness, regardless of corporate size, industry type, or level of technology adoption. Therefore, it is possible for this method to evaluate the technology competitiveness easily and repeatedly, in terms of IT innovativeness by inter-organizations and inter-nations. For the case analysis, the Mongolian IT market with several Korean IT joint firms is introduced, and final data resulted from an early-adoptive phase case are analyzed.

  • 기후변화 문제와 그 해결을 위한 범지구적 대응은 다양한 측면에서 기업의 경쟁력에 영향을 미치고 있기 때문에 이에 효과적으로 대응하지 않는다면 기업의 경쟁력을 안정적으로 유지하기 어려울 뿐만 아니라 기후변화와 관련된 국가 전체의 경제적 비용이 크게 증가할 수 있다. 기업의 경쟁력은 대내외적인 여건 하에서 지속적인 생산활동과 이윤 창출을 위한 잠재력을 의미한다. 경쟁력은 직관적으로는 쉽게 이해되는 개념이지만 실제로 이를 결정하는 요인을 도출하고 그 변화를 측정하는 것은 복잡하고도 논란이 많은 주제이다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 일반적으로 사용되는 방법은 '경쟁력지수'를 개발하여 활용하는 것이다. 경쟁력지수는 기업이나 국가의 경쟁력을 일정한 지표체계와 복합지표 방법론을 이용하여 하나의 지수로 측정하는 방식이다. 기후변화는 물리적 피해, 온실가스 규제, 고정자산 감모, 제품 수요 변화 등을 통해 요소, 기술, 제품, 시장구조 등의 기업경쟁력 결정요인에 영향을 미친다. 따라서 기업 경쟁력은 기후변화라는 영향요인에 대한 취약성을 줄이고 새로운 대내외적인 여건에 성공적으로 대응하여야만 안정적으로 유지할 수 있다. 본 연구는 기업의 경쟁력에 영향을 미치는 요인을 도출하고 이를 반영한 주제별 지표체계 및 지수 개발을 목적으로 한다. '기후변화 경쟁력지수'는 기후변화 요인에 따른 경쟁력 변화를 정량적으로 측정할 수 있는 도구를 제시함으로써 기업의 기후변화 대응 능력 제고와 산업계에 대한 기후변화 정책을 효과적으로 운영하는데 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

국내 백화점의 특정매입 시스템에 관한 연구 (A study on tukjeongmeip system of Department store in Korea)

  • Many theorists have been asserting the advantageous of jikmeip system and disadvantageous of tukjeongmeip system in terms of competitiveness enhancement. But, department store is a business status where service is emphasized instead of price, it is advantageous to secure service competitiveness rather than price competitiveness. Therefore, by utilizing the professional merchandisers of the supplier even without having its own, the department store will keep the advantageous stand unless it is not a large buying system. Due to many items under control, distribution companies usually have limited source of professional merchandiser for each product. Thus, no matter how the importance of MD has been forced, when considering the practical situation, the tukjeongmeip will always have the competitiveness over the jikmeip.

국가경쟁력 강화를 위한 SOC 투자 전략 (SOC Investment Promotion Strategy for Strengthening Global Competitiveness)

  • Korea is now the 12th largest economy in the world, surpassing its annual trade in the amount of $1 trillion, and it has joined the socalled 20-50 Club, becoming one of the seven countries in the world with capita income of more than $20,000 with population of 50 million. However it ranked 24th of the Global competitiveness index evaluated by World Economic Forum based on the basic requirements including infrastructures, efficiency enhances, innovation and sophistication factors, etc. The extensive and efficient SOC infrastructures are critical for ensuring the global competitiveness of each country. Effective modes of SOC facilities including quality roads, railroads, ports, air transport, etc will be able to reduce the annual traffic congestion cost as well as macro economic logistics costs in Korea, thereby the global competitiveness can be strengthened in the global market.

전기전자 시험인증기관의 글로벌 경쟁력 요인 연구 (A Study on Global Competitiveness Factors of Electrical and Electronic Testing and Certification Bodies)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to select factors affecting the global competitiveness of testing and certification bodies and to develop evaluation indicator. Methods: Considering the industrial characteristics of Korea, the electrical and electronic test and certification field was selected as the research subject. As a research method, various factors were extracted through exploratory research such as theoretical considerations on the competitiveness of testing and certification bodies and analysis of the growth process of global testing and certification bodies, and focused interviews and surveys were conducted with conformity assessment experts. Results: The 16 factors affecting the global competitiveness of testing and certification institutions were identified. Among the 4 PEST factors, the technological factor had the highest importance, followed by the economic factor, the social factor, and the political factor. The average of the 16 factors was 0.0625, and the 8 factors above the average included 4 technological factors, 3 economic factors, and 1 social factor, but did not include political factors. The factor with the greatest weight was Standardization Capability for Testing & Certification 0.105. Conclusion: It can be used to evaluate the global competitiveness level of domestic testing and certification bodies using evaluation indicators and to establish strategies for strengthening global competitiveness.
