With the diffusion of the Internet, firms try to electronically collaborate with their partners in order to cut costs and gain profits. This, electronic Partnership, called 'Collaborative IT' is quite popular between large purchase enterprises and small-to-medium sized sub-contractors. This study investigates such relations. This study proposes three groups of research variables-interorganizational relationship, collaborative IT activity, and firm performance. the interorganizational relationship consists of trust, commitment, and asymmetry of commitment. Collaborative IT activity is composed of information sharing and workflow integration. The ultimate dependent variable is firm performance. It is hypothesized that the relationship factors influence the level of collaborative IT activity, while the latter in turn affects the firm performance. The relationship factors nay also directly affect the dependent variable. In addition, collaborative IT motive, as a moderating variable, may influence the causal relationship. By means of survey, ore hundred and eighty-two responses were obtained. Most sample companies are small-sized, in the manufacturing sector. The analysis of data reveals that both trust and commitment positively affects the level of collaborative IT activity, while asymmetry of commitment has negative effects. The workflow integration is significantly related with firm performance. Information sharing, however, has no signific3nt effects. Furthermore, asymmetry of commitment shows reverse relationship with firm performance. Collaborative IT motive works as a moderating variable between information sharing and firm performance. Finally, workflow integration is believed to mediate between relationship factors and firm performance.
In the present work we introduce a new flare activity indicator, MAD and examine its characteristics by analyzing a set of successive three days' observations of a typical active region, AR2372. The computed MAD is compared with conventional activity indicator such as separator. It is found that. (1) MAD traces very well the separator, (2) it. singles out. local discontinuity of magnetic field lines and (3) it. is a good measure of describing the evolutionary status of active region.
Effective BuOH fraction was extracted from Puerariae radix (Pueraria thunbergiana), and several pharmacological activities were examined. From several pharmacological examinations, it was found that BuOH fraction has an antipyretic activity against typhoid vaccine pyrexia in rabbit, a papaverine-like antispasmodic activity on isolated ileum and jejunum of rat, an analgesic effects on mice treated by 0.7% HAc, and an anti-inflammatory activity of carrageenin edema in rat. It was found that BuOH fraction has detoxication effects on acute and subacute toxic rat induced by alcohol in consequence of biochemical tests of serum. Therefore it was considered that BuOH fraction has preventive and therapeutic effects in alcohol intoxication.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the residents' use and occupancy-behavior in the activity areas of the senior nursing facilities, and to provide basic information to establish the appropriate physical elements for planning the activity areas. For the study, the observations in five facilities were conducted for one day, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m by four researchers. The results of the study are summarized as follows: First, most of the using behaviors in the activity areas were the doing nothing or sleeping. The meals and program services were provided in only one activity area of the floor and it showed that the unit care system was perfunctorily conducted at those facilities. In the representative activity area, its openness was the main physical element influencing the spatial using frequency, while the accessibility and the openness in the sub-activity area were most important. The seating arrangements having comers were helpful for residents' interactions. Second, while facility programs and meals were provided in the specific activity area, there was no residents' occupancy in other activity areas at the same time. There were interactions including residents' conversations and watching/observations in non-designated activity areas such as the nursing stations and near corridors. But the residents' interactions and self-regulations were blocked by absence of territoriality, monotonous spatial compositions and furniture arrangements, insecurity of residents' privacy, wide or narrow areas, and isolated spatial type. Based on the results at the above, basic guidelines for planning the activity areas of senior nursing facilities can be proposed as follows: First, the isolated type and the sight interception should be avoided in representative activity areas. It should be partitioned with couple of areas through the appropriate furniture arrangements, and be prepared semi-private spaces in non-designated areas such as nursing station for the interactions among the residents and the staff. Second, in activity areas for small group, the isolated type is not also good for the residents' accessibility. The residents' privacy should be confirmed through the various spatial compositions, and enough areas need to be sure for the diverse furniture arrangements.
Copper intoxication and disturbance of copper metabolism induced various oxygen-derived free radicals related damages. The effect of copper ion on xanthine oxidase activity and type conversion of the enzyme which is concerned to generation of reactive oxygen species, was investigated, It was observed that xanthine oxidase activity was increased by addition of copper ion in the reaction mixture in proportional to the concentration of the metal ion until $60\;{\mu}M$, while the enzyme activity was inhibited in higher concentration of copper treatment. On the other hand, xanthine dehydrogenase activity was inhibited by copper ion addition with concentration dependently. Preincubation of enzyme source with $30\;{\mu}M$ of copper ion, which concentration marked increased the xanthine oxidase activity, unchanged the enzyme activity and type conversion compare to control in vitro system. It was also observed that copper induced xanthine oxidase activity and the enzyme type conversion was protected by dithiothreitol and penicillamine. These results indicate that the increment of the type conversion of xanthine oxidase necessarilly need the presence of copper ion in enzyme assay system.
This work was carried out to determined the effect of 2,4-dinitrophenol(DNP) on in vivo nitrate reductase activity in the root of 6 day old rye (Secale cereale L.) seedlings. The nitrate reductase activity in the roots of 6 day old rye seedlings pretreated with 0.5 mM DNP was higher than that of the control group in all the experimental conditions. The optimal concentration of KNO3 for maximum nitrate reductase activity was 10 mM in both control and treated group. The nitrate reductase activity in the treatment of 10 mM KNO3 gradually increased for 4 h in both groups, and then maintained constantly. The nitrate reductase activity occurred per hour was highest at 1 h in both groups, while it was declined by large degrees as time goes on. The daily pattern of nitrate reductase activity was gradually decreased in both groups with the passage of day. The optimal pH for this experiment and a previous paper (Kwon et al., 1991), it was determined that the nitrate reductase activity in both roots and shoots of rye seedlings was increased by the treatment of 0.5 mM DNP, and particulary in both groups, the nitrate reductase activity in the roots of rye seedlings was higher than that in shoots of them.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to help the numerous health care workers who participate in the rehabilitation of stroke patients by understanding how limitations on the activities of stroke patients affect the health-related quality of life and depression. Methods: We investigated 527 stroke patients from the Korean's National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES, 2013-2018). The subjects were divided into two categories: with and without activity limitation. A medical doctor's diagnosis of depression and the EQ-5D, which measures life satisfaction connected to health, were the study's factors. Based on their level of activity limitation, the individuals' depression and health-related quality of life were compared. The odds ratios relating to activity limitation's relationships with depression and stroke patients' quality of life were computed using logistic regression analysis. Results: The diagnosis of depression in subjects with activity limitation was 16.0%, while in those with no limitation on activity it was 5.6%, and the EQ-5D index was 0.67±0.02, 0.85±0.01. For every item on the EQ-5D, there existed a significant difference in the odds ratio. Furthermore, when comparing depression with activity limitation to non-activity limitation, the odds ratio was 4.09 (2.12-7.788). Conclusion: Limitation of activities of stroke patients significantly reduces the health-related quality of life and increase the probability of depression. Therefore, treatment of stroke patients should be approached taking into consideration their psychological condition. It is also deemed necessary to have a systematic and continuous rehabilitation program.
PURPOSE: This study is a data analysis study to determine the physical health problems and reasons for disabilities and activity limitation rates that limit daily life and social activities among the elderly population aged 75 or older in Korea. METHODS: This study data was extracted from the raw data of the 7th National Health and Welfare Survey (2016-2018). The subjects of this study were 1,995 elderly people (823 men, 1,172 women) aged 75 years or older. The collected data were analyzed using frequency analysis and logistic regression analysis. RESULTS: From 2016 to 2018, the activity limitation rate among the elderly population aged 75 or older in Korea was 20.6% for men, 24.6% for women, and 23.1% overall. The three major diseases with the highest frequency of activity limitations were back and neck problems (36.5%), arthritis and rheumatism (28.7%), and knee and leg pain (14.7%). Activity limitation due to old age was found to be 13.1%, making it the fourth most frequent reason. The rate of activity limitations due to mental retardation and obesity was found to be 0%. The three major activity limitation rates were significantly related to gender. CONCLUSION: The main diseases causing activity limitations among the elderly population aged 75 or older in Korea were back and neck problems, arthritis and rheumatism, and musculoskeletal diseases such as knee and leg pain. Therefore, it is believed that it can be used as basis data for reducing the activity limitation rate of the elderly population in the aging era.

Black soybean with the anthocyanin in the seed coat is known to have higher antioxidant activity than the yellow soybean. This study was carried out to evaluate antioxidant activity of 231 Korean black soybean landraces which conserved at RDA gene bank. Antioxidant activities were measured using DPPH, TPC, TFC, ABTS, and FRAP assay. DPPH showed wide variations, ranging from 16.4 to 200.4($IC_{50}$). TPC, TFC, ABTS, and FRAP were ranged from 0.8 to 13.2 mg gallic acid equivalent/g (mg GAE/g), 0.15 to 0.82 mg quercetin equivalent/g (mg QE/g), 2.0 to 8.3 mg ascorbic acid/g (mg ASC/g) and 0.2 to 3.1 mg ASC/g, respectively. Among 231 Korean black soybean landraces, IT177715 showed the highest antioxidant activity in DPPH assay. In TPC, TFC, ABTS, and FRAP assays, IT274975, IT274551, IT167725, and IT178047 showed the highest antioxidant activity, respectively. In Relative Antioxidant Capacity Index (RACI), IT178047 showed the highest antioxidant activity, while IT177197 the lowest. This study will be able to provide useful data to select black soybean landraces with high antioxidant activity.
Effects of root, stem and leaf extract of sancho (Zanthoxylum schinifolium) on the inhibition of lipid peroxidation in the hepatic microsome of rat, DPPH radical scavenging activity and activated partial thromboplastin times (APTT) were examined in vitro. The highest inhibition of hepatic microsomal lipid peroxidation was observed by ethyl acetate fraction than that of methylene chloride fraction of the root and stem extracts. The high inhibition of lipid peroxidation was determined in the leaf, the root and the stem in order. The DPPH radical scavenging activity of ethyl acetate fraction was higher than that of n-butanol fraction and it was similar to the root and the steam extract. It was similar to the inhibition of hepatic microsomal lipid peroxidation. The DPPH radical scavenging activity was the highest in 2.500mg/mL of ethyl acetate fraction and it was 4.4 fold higher than that of $\alpha-tocopherol$, as an antioxidant standard. The DPPH radical scavenging activity was dependent on the extract concentration in the range of 0.125-5.000 mg/mL. The throm-boplastin times were higher than that of n-butanol fraction and it was similar to the root and the steam extracts. The leaf extract showed the highest antithrombogenic effect followed by the stem and then the root extract. The activated partial thromboplastin times were ependent on the extract concentration in the range of 0.100-2.000 mg/mL. Consequently, the effects of antioxidative, DPPH radical scavenging activity and antithrombogenic of Z. schinifolium was observed due to the inhibition of lipid peroxidation and the DPPH radical scavenging activity by methylene chloride, n-butanol and ethyl acetate fraction of the leaf extract.
