  • Thickness control of hot-rolled strips has become an important issue in recent years because of the need for improving the quality of the hot-rolled strip. In this study, a modifying method of rolling force set-up with consideration of spread was developed to improve the thickness uniformity at the finishing rolling units in hot rolling. Through the analysis of real production data it was found that the accuracy of the rolling force determined from the finishing mill set-up (FSU) model dominantly governed the thickness uniformity in rolled plates at the front. Based on this analysis , several examples were selected to calculate the spread of rolled plate using three dimensional rigid thermo-viscoplastic finite element program. FE analysis results were used to train the neural network system that can predict the spread hot-rolled plate and the rolling force was modified based on the predicted value of spread. The modified rolling forces were closer to the measured rolling force so it can be expected that the accuracy of thickness uniformity of hot-rolled plate will be improved.

  • Experimental investigations on flame spread in droplet arrays have been conducted under supercritical ambient pressures of fuel droplet. Flame spread rates are measured for n-Decane droplet of diameters of 0.75 and 1.0mm, using high speed images of OH chemiluminescence up to 3.0MPa. The pattern of flame spread is categorized into two: a continuous mode and an intermittent one. There exists a limit droplet spacing, above which flame spread does not occur. Flame spread rate with the decrease of droplet spacing increases and then decreases after takin& a maximum. It is also seen that there exists a limit ambient pressure, above which flame spread does not occur. Flame spread rate decreases monotonically with the increase of ambient pressure. Exceptionally, In the case of a small droplet spacing, flame spread with the increase of ambient pressure is extended to supercritical pressures of fuel droplet. This is caused by enhanced vaporization with the increase of ambient pressure. Consequently, in flame spread with droplet droplet spacing, the relative position of flame to droplet spacing plays an important role. The monotonic decrease with ambient pressure is mainly related to the reduction of flame radius in subcritical pressures and the extension to supercritical pressures of flame spread is caused by the reduction of ignition time of unburnt droplet due to the enhanced vaporization at supercritical pressures.

  • The present study was conducted to determine whether local production of neutrophil chemoattractant cytokines preceded the influx of neutrophils 1311owing dermal scald burn injury. In order to inhibit the influx of neutrophils, we induced scald burn injury on dorsal skin of rats (TBSA 15%) and spread Rhubarb (R. undulatum L.) and complex (Rhubarb+Olibanum+Myrrha) on scald skin in rats. 1. Levels of dermal KC, the indicator of skin iuflammation, caused by burn gradually increased 5 hours, 24 hours (p<0.001) and 72 hours (p<0.001) after the burn occurred. After 24 hours it occurs, KC in skin was decreased by both skin spread of Rhubarb (p<0.05) and complex (p<0.05) compared to scald bum group. After 72 hours, KC by skin sp.end of Rhubarb and complex was significantly decreased (p<0.01), and the inhibition effect of KC production by complex is higher than by Rhubarb. 2. KC content in serum was increased (p<0.01) at 24 hours after burn injury and comes down back to the normal level after 72 hours. At 24 hours postbunt both Rhubarb (p<0.05) and complex (p<0.01) skin spread decreased KC in serum. The inhibition effect of KC production by complex skin spread group is higher than by Rhubarb skin spread group. The data suggest that the KC production effects by Rhubarb skin spread group and complex skin spread group are high. Especially the endurance of the effect by complex skin spread group was longer than by Rhubarb skin spread group. The inhibition effect of KC production by complex skin spread group increases more than by Rhubarb skin spread group as time passes.

  • This study is an analysis on the focus of textbooks regarding the statistical chapters of "measures of representative(central tendency) and of the spread". Applying the summary-concept criteria of Juhyeon Nam(2007), 4 kinds of aspect of the chapter; (1) definition and its teleological validity of the measures of representative, (2) definition and practical value of the measures of spread (3) distributional form on the measures of representative and of spread (4) location and scale preservation or invariance of the measures of representative and of spread were observed. On the measures of representative, some definitions were insufficient to check the teleological validity of the measure. Most definitions of the measure of spread were based on the practical view points but no preparation for the future statistical inferences were found even by implication. Some books mention about the measures of representative and of spread for distributions, but we could not find any comments on the correspondence between the sample mean and the expectation of a distribution or population mean. However it is stimulant that some books check the validity of corresponding measures with the location and scale preservation or invariant property, that were not found in the previous curriculum.

  • During the Joseon Dynasty, the rituals that were celebrated in the palaces were mainly held inside the palace and in the courtyard of the palace. Mats were spread on the floor of the place where the ritual was held. The mats spread in the Joseon Dynasty rituals divided the space in various ways, and in particular, they were spread in a certain form in the spaces of royal wedding, customs, and court banquet. Mats were the primary physical element that divided the royal ritual space of the Joseon Dynasty, and functioned to elevate the general space to the ritual space. In the ritual space, mats were spread inside the palace, and divided the courtyard of the palace into left and right in a symmetrical form to distinguish the hierarchy of the participants. Mats with special and white patterns were spread in the external ceremonial space and mats with flower and colorful patterns were spread in the internal ceremonial space. This was the subdivision of the Confucianism's male-female division through the mat. The pattern of the mat that divided the space of the royal family elders also meant longevity to reflect the filial thoughts of the Confucianism through the mat. Mats were a physical element for subdividing the royal family and the participants in the hierarchy of the space where the ritual is held, and it also performed a subdividing function between the royal participants. In other words, in the Joseon Dynasty ritual space, mats were temporarily spread while the ritual is being celebrated and functioned to elevate the space to a ritual space. It is confirmed that the fact that the mats were temporarily spread to divide the space into the hierarchies according to the status and were subdivided into colors and patterns to perform the function to reflect the subdivision of the royal family according to Confucianism and the statue of filial piety in the ritual.

  • Even though the spread spectrum method is known as most robust algorithm to general attacks, it has a drawback to the time axis attack. In this paper, I proposed a robust audio copyright protection algorithm which is robust to the time axis attack and has advantages of the spread spectrum method. Time axis attack includes the audio length variation attack with same pitch and the audio frequency variation attack. In order to detect the embedded watermark by the spread spectrum method, the detection algorithm should know the exact rate of the time axis attack. Even if there is a method to know the rate, it needs heavy computational resource and it is not possible to implement. In this paper, solving this problem, the audio signal is transformed into time-invariant domain, and the spread spectrum watermark is embedded into the audio in the domain. Therefore the proposed algorithm has the advantages of the spread spectrum method and it is also robust to the time axis attack. The time-invariant domain process is that the audio is arranged by log scale time axis, and then, the Fourier transform is taken to the audio in the log scale time axis. As a result, the algorithm can get the time-invariant watermark signal.

  • Patients with acute respiratory diseases, such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) due to COVID-19, must wear masks, protective clothing, face shields, and gloves to prevent infection during treatment and performance. Even if it is applied to disabled people, families who protect them are severely mentally tired from severe physical fatigue and stress from exposure to high-risk infectious diseases. As such, the spread of infectious diseases such as respiratory diseases has not only caused difficulties in using existing welfare and medical services but also caused various problems throughout the daily life of disabled people due to the prolonged infectious disease, and its scope is gradually expanding. Therefore, it should not be overlooked that disabled people may experience various difficulties, from the spread of infectious diseases such as respiratory diseases to isolation, diagnosis, and treatment, and it is time to actively assess the life changes felt by families caring for disabled people and consider and research to provide adequate services. According to the survey of disabled people is being conducted in the context of the spread of infectious diseases such as respiratory diseases, while research on the spread of infectious diseases such as respiratory diseases is rare for parents with disabilities. There is a need for additional investigation into the characteristics in other areas of everyday life, including the health field, which is deteriorating through prior research. Therefore, through this survey, the purpose of this study is to investigate the life changes of parents with disabilities in the context of the spread of infectious diseases such as respiratory diseases and to compare and analyze them to find out how parents were affected by each type of disability. It will be used as evidence to identify more necessary needs and problems for parents with disabilities in the spread of infectious diseases such as respiratory diseases and to provide more appropriate health care and welfare services in the future.

  • Experiments on flame spread in an one-dimensional droplet array up to supercritical pressures of fuel droplet have been conducted In normal gravity and microgravity. Evaporating process around unburnt droplet is observed through high-speed Schlieren and direct visualizations in detail, and flame spread rate is measured using high speed chemiluminescence images of OH radical. Flame spread behaviors are categorized into three: flame spread is continuous at low pressures and is regularly intermittent up to the critical pressure of fuel. flame spread is irregularly intermittent and zig-zag at supercritical pressures of fuel. At atmospheric pressure, the limit droplet spacing and the droplet spacing of maximum flame spread rate in microgravity are larger than those in normal gravity. In microgravity, the flame spread rate with the increase of ambient pressure decreases initially, takes a minimum, and then decreases after taking maximum. This is so because the flame spread time is determined by competing effects between the increased transfer time of thermal boundary layer due to reduced flame diameter and the reduced ignition delay time in terms of the increase of ambient pressure. Consequently, it is found that flame spread behaviors in microgravity are considerably different from those in normal gravity due to the absence of natural convection.
