국내 미국선녀벌레의 분포 및 기주식물 (Occurrence and Host Plant of Metcalfa Pruinosa (Say) (Hemiptera: Flatidae) in Korea)

  • Metcalfa pruinosa was considered to be a very harmful invasive species, due to its high species density in nature and wide range of its host plants. M. pruinosa was distributed in 28 sites among 143 sites. M. pruinosa has wide range and diverse host plants of 52 families 110 species including crop, fruits and forest trees. At present, the identified host plant of M. pruinosa are composed of 62 families and 145 species in total since their first appearance was reported. M. pruinosa was found in roadside 46.7%, followed by forests 33.3% and orchard 20%. Nymphs and adults cause damage to crop and orchard by sucking juice, outbreak of fungi through secretion of wax, and reduction of plant assimilation due to the nectar of nymphs. Also, it reduces the merchantable quality of fruits and thus causes economic damage. It is judged that M. pruinosa has been moved along major road via the traffic vehicles.

Utilization of Deodorized Poultry Feces with Tolura sp. CH-30

  • Treatment of poultry feces with Tolura sp. CH-30 produced a material that was significantly deodorized and showed a promotive effect on plant growth. Tolura sp. CH-30 grew on the poultry feces, deodorizing the feces by assimilation of volatile fatty acids, which are the source of the offensive odor, as a carbon source. Significant degradation of uric acid also occurred. In the treatment of feces with Tolura sp. CH-30, it was possible to deodorize feces in a short time, but reduction in the amount of urate-N was not enough. Urate-N inhibited plant growth due to an excessive nitrogen content produced as a result of rapid decomposition. Therefore, we propose a recycle-treatment plan using poultry feces treated with Tolura sp. CH-30. After the recycle-treatment, the amount of urate-N contained in the recycle-treated poultry feces was small and the recycle-treated poultry feces showed a promotive effect on plant growth when it was added at a nitrogen content of 1.6 g/600 g soil/pot.

요천부 이행성 척추증에 의한 요통의 치험 -증례 보고- (Low Back Pain due to Lumbosacral Transitional Vertebra -A case report-)

  • The presence of an enlarged transverse process on one or both sides of the last lumbar vertebra is a common congenital anomaly of the lumbar vertebra. It is thought to be a genetic or developmental anatomical variant. The first reported assimilation of the fifth lumbar vertebra into the sacrum associated with low back pain was in 1917 by Bertolotti. However, clinical significance of lumbosacral transitional vertebra has not been fully considered due to lack of scientific investigations dealing with it. We experienced a case of symptomatic lumbosacral transitional vertebra during management of low back pain. Low back pain was relieved after infiltration of local anesthetics and steroid into the false joint of lumbosacral transitional vertebra. This result may possibly indicate a significant correlation between low back pain and lumbosacral transitional vertebra.

Theoretical Protein Structure Prediction of Glucagon-like Peptide 2 Receptor Using Homology Modelling

  • Glucagon-like peptide 2 receptor, a GPCR, binds with the glucagon-like peptide, GLP-2 and regulates various metabolic functions in the gastrointestinal tract. It plays an important role in the nutrient homeostasis related to nutrient assimilation by regulating mucosal epithelium. GLP-2 receptor affects the cellular response to external injury, by controlling the intestinal crypt cell proliferation. As they are therapeutically attractive towards diseases related with the gastrointestinal tract, it becomes essential to analyse their structural features to study the pathophysiology of the diseases. As the three dimensional structure of the protein is not available, in this study, we have performed the homology modelling of the receptor based on single- and multiple template modeling. The models were subjected to model validation and a reliable model based on the validation statistics was identified. The predicted model could be useful in studying the structural features of GLP-2 receptor and their role in various diseases related to them.

Social Media Neologisms: A Borrowed Affix as a Case of Pseudo-Anglicisms

  • This paper aims to investigate a novel affix prevalently and productively used in social media, which is assumed to be borrowed from English into Korean loanblens. The novel affix is composed of a prefix-like and a suffix-like elements, but it seems to be distinguished from other regular combinations of a prefix and a suffix. In analyzing the affix, we attempt to highlight its peculiarities of the affix with empirical data. First, the seemingly borrowed affix does not behave like affixes found in the donor language (English) or the recipient language (Korean) from a linguistic point of view. Both languages have circumfixation rarely available in productive word-formation processes. Second, no regular assimilation rules of Korean apply to the affix boundary, which would otherwise be mandatory to such syllable contact contexts. Last but not least, the affix form has no correspondence to the donor language, and therefore it is claimed to be derived through secretion and taken as a case of pseudo-anglicisms.

  • 대두(大豆)의 탄수화물집적과정(炭水化物集積過程)에는 일정(一定)한 rhythm이 있다는 것을 명확(明確)히 하였지만 질소대사(窒素代謝)도 이에 따라 큰 변동(變動)이 있다는 것도 명백(明白)하여졌다. 시비시기(施肥時期)의 조만(早晩)에 불구(不拘)하고 상술(上述)한 결론(結論)은 이용(利用)될 수 있으나 만기시비(晩期施肥)의 경우는, 수확기(收穫期)까지의 시기(時期)가 짧아 정상적(正常的)인 발육(發育)이란 볼 수 없이 생애(生涯)를 끝마친다는 뜻이 되어 수량(收量)에도 매우 큰 영향(影響)을 주는 결과(結果)가 된다. 일반적(一般的)으로 생육(生育)의 전반(前半)은 질소동화기(窒素同化期)이고 후반(後半)은 탄수화물동화기(炭水化物同化期)라고 말할 수 있다. 그러나 시비(施肥)의 조만(早晩)은 이 기간(期間)의 구별(區別)을 비교적(比較的) 지연시켰다. 즉(卽) 전반기(前半期)에 있어서의 탄수화물(炭水化物)의 부족(不足)은 단백질합성(蛋白質合成)의 과정(過程)을 조해(阻害)시켰고, 후반기(後半期)에서의 체내단백질(體內蛋白質)의 부족(不足)은 왕성(旺盛)하여야 할 광합성(光合成)을 감약(減弱)시켜 가하(加何)튼 수량(收量)을 저하(低下)시키는 결과(結果)를 냈다. 따라서 착협기(着莢期)에 있어서의 체내단백질(體內蛋白質)의 부족(不足)은 결정적(決定的)으로 후반기(後半期)에서의 생육부진(生育不振)은 초래(招來)시켰다. 따라서 수량(收量)을 증가(增加)시키기 위(爲)해서는 역시 비교적(比較的) 빠른 시기(時期)에 시비(施肥)하여야 할 것이다. 또 생육과정중(生育過程中)에서의 각종형태(各種形態)의 질소(窒素)의 소장(消長)을 가용성질소(可溶性窒素)로 종합(綜合)하여 질소대사(窒素代謝)의 과정(過程)도 추정(推定)하였다.

  • Human beings and chimpanzees are very much alike. and scientists say there is only 1% difference between them. Contrary to our expectations, the difference lies not in brains but in tracheas ( windpipes ). Those of human beings are bigger and longer than those of chimpanzees. Thu means more air is inspired and expired as breath. About breath there are interesting descriptions in the Bible. In the Genesis it says God made a man out of soil and breathed life-giving breath into his nostrils and the man began to live. In other part it says life exists between incoming breath and outgoing breath. Thus breath plays key role is our life. In Hebrew and Greek, breath and spirit are the same words. In Hebrew it is ‘Luahf’ and in Greek, ‘Pneuma’ With breath and mouth organs human beings produced voice, and with haritage and through leaning we train our voice to reach the level of language which convey our culture. My contention is to realize the gift of voice and train it so that it can perform proper function as a tool of conveying our thought and culture. This is a kind of practice of speech and it may be called speechology. It includes the following practical methods: 1. Try to read aloud. 2. Encourage recitation, 3. Make public speaking as possible. 4. Learn theories of phonetics; such as about pronunciation, accent, intonation, prominence, assimilation and so on.

기상청 국지기상예측시스템을 이용한 서울의 도시열섬강도 예측 평가 (Evaluation of the Urban Heat Island Intensity in Seoul Predicted from KMA Local Analysis and Prediction System)

  • 본 연구는 기상청 현업모델(LDAPS)로부터 예측된 서울의 도시열섬 강도와 지상 기온을 AWS 관측과 비교 평가하였다. 관측된 서울의 열섬 강도는 봄과 겨울동안 증가하며 여름동안 감소한다. 열섬 강도의 시간적 변동 경향은 새벽 시간 최대, 오후에 최소를 보인다. 기상청 국지기상예측시스템(LDAPS)으로부터 예측된 열섬 강도는 여름철 과대모의, 겨울철 과소모의 특징을 보인다. 특히 여름철은 주간에 과대 모의 경향이 증가하며, 겨울은 새벽 시간 과소 모의 오차가 크게 나타난다. LDAPS에서 예측된 지면 기온의 오차는 여름철 감소하며 겨울철 증가한다. 겨울철 열섬 강도의 과소 모의는 도시 기온의 과소 모의와 관련되었으며, 여름철 열섬 강도의 과대 모의는 교외 지역 기온의 과소 모의로부터 기인하는것으로 판단된다. 도시 열섬강도 예측성 개선을 위하여 도시효과를 고려하는 도시캐노피모델을 LDAPS와 결합하여 2017년 여름 기간동안 모의하였다. 도시캐노피모델 적용 후 도시의 지면 기온의 오차는 개선되었다. 특히 오전시간 과소모의되는 기온의 오차 개선 효과가 뚜렷하였다. 도시캐노피모델은 여름동안 과대 모의하는 도시열섬강도를 약화시키는 개선 효과를 보였다.

분포형 수문모형 WRF-Hydro와 기상수치예보모형 GDAPS를 활용한 고해상도 중기 유량 예측 (High-resolution medium-range streamflow prediction using distributed hydrological model WRF-Hydro and numerical weather forecast GDAPS)

  • 수량과 수질 및 수생태를 동시에 고려한 수자원 관리를 위해서는 신뢰도 높은 중기 유량 예측 기술이 필수적이다. 이를 위해서는 기상자료의 특성에 대한 이해와 더불어, 시공간 해상도가 낮은 기상예측 정보를 고해상도 분포형 수문모형에서 효과적으로 활용하는 기술이 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 분포형 수문모형 WRF-Hydro와 선행시간 288시간까지의 기상정보를 제공하는 Global Data Assimilation and Prediction System (GDAPS)를 활용해 고해상도 중기 유량 예측을 수행하고 적용성을 검토하였다. 이를 위해 대상 유역인 낙동강 지류 금호강 유역에 대해 100 m 공간해상도의 WRF-Hydro모형을 구축하고 기상지상관측자료 Automatic Weather Stations (AWS)& Automated Synoptic Observing Systems (ASOS), 기상수치예보모형 GDAPS, 기상재분석자료 Global Land Data Assimilation System (GLDAS)를 입력자료로 적용한 유량 예측 모의 결과를 비교하였다. 2020~2022년 기간 3개의 강우사상에 대해 유역 평균 누적 강우량을 분석 결과, AWS&ASOS대비 GDAPS는 36%~234%, GLDAS 재분석자료는 80%~153% 범위의 과소 및 과대 산정되었음을 확인하였다. AWS&ASOS입력자료로 한 유량 예측 결과는 KGE, NSE지표가 유역 말단 강창교 지점 기준 0.6이상이었으나, GDAPS 기반 유량 모의는 강우 사상에 따라 KGE 값이 0.871~-0.131로 큰 변동성이 확인되었다. 한편, 첨두 유량 오차는 GDAPS가 GLDAS보다 크거나 비슷했지만, 첨두 홍수 발생시간의 오차는 AWS&ASOS, GDAPS, GLDAS가 각각 평균 3.7시간, 8.4시간, 70.1시간으로, 첨두 발생시간 측면에서는 GDAPS의 오차가 GLDAS보다 적었다. GDAPS를 입력자료로 한 WRF-Hydro 고해상도 중기 유량 예측은 첨두 유량의 불확실성은 크지만, 첨두 유량 발생시점에 대한 정확도는 상대적으로 높아 수자원 시설 운영에 효과적으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

국제결혼가정 아동의 문화정체감과 문화적응유형 및 심리사회적 적응에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Cultural Identity, Acculturation Patterns and Psychosocial Adjustment of Children in International Marriage Families)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between cultural identity and the psychosocial adjustment levels of children in international marriage families by focusing on the effects that different types of cultural identity have on children's overall psychosocial adjustment. The data for this study came from a survey conducted on 122 third to sixth grades children with foreign mothers living in Seoul and Gyeonggi-Do. As a result, it was found that children's identification with Korean culture was on average higher than their identification with their mother's culture. Secondly, in terms of identity type, assimilation and separation types appeared to be the most dominant, followed by the integration and marginalization types. Finally, it was found that cultural identities had significant effects on children's psychosocial adjustment in international marriage families. In particular, the level of self-esteem was the highest for children in the integrated group, while it was the lowest for those in the marginalized group. These results indicate that identification with the mother's culture is just as important as one's Korean identity when it comes to determining the degree of psychosocial adjustment of children in international marriage families.
