  • It is known that AC electric field to drive IPS mode of liquid crystal display (LCD) causes reduction of the contrast after long period of display operation. Our results are presented in this paper on a base of a model of interaction between surface of PI alignment film and LC molecules. We conclude that the surface viscosity of PI alignment film is one of the most important factors for the contrast reduction phenomenon.

  • We proposed a soft-lithographic method for aligning a liquid crystal (LC) in patterned azimuthal orientations. It is demonstrated that a thermoplastic polystyrene layer is patterned from a thermally stable polyimide layer via pressure-assisted capillary force lithography, which provides multidirectional LC alignment condition simply followed by a unidirectional rubbing process.

  • Printed electronics is a technology used for forming electronic circuits or devices, and it is used in the manufacture of many products such as RFID tags, solar cells, and flexible display panels with a much lower cost than in the case of semiconductor process technology. Web-guide-type printing such as roll-to-roll printing is a method used to produce printed electronic devices in a large volume. To commercialize such products, highly precise alignment between printed layers is required. In this study, a highly precise alignment system is proposed, and some experimental results are compared with those obtained using a laser surface vibrometer to illustrate the reliability of the proposed system. The robustness of the proposed system to web deformation is also considered experimentally.

  • In this paper, an image-based "approach-align -grasp" visual servo control design is proposed for the problem of object grasping, which is based on the binocular stand-alone system. The basic idea consists of considering a vision system as a specific sensor dedicated a task and included in a control servo loop, and we perform automatic grasping follows the classical approach of splitting the task into preparation and execution stages. During the execution stage, once the image-based control modeling is established, the control task can be performed automatically. The proposed visual servoing control scheme ensures the convergence of the image-features to desired trajectories by using the Jacobian matrix, which is proved by the Lyapunov stability theory. And we also stress the importance of projective invariant object/gripper alignment. The alignment between two solids in 3-D projective space can be represented with view-invariant, more precisely; it can be easily mapped into an image set-point without any knowledge about the camera parameters. The main feature of this method is that the accuracy associated with the task to be performed is not affected by discrepancies between the Euclidean setups at preparation and at task execution stages. Then according to the projective alignment, the set point can be computed. The robot gripper will move to the desired position with the image-based control law. In this paper we adopt a constant Jacobian online. Such method describe herein integrate vision system, robotics and automatic control to achieve its goal, it overcomes disadvantages of discrepancies between the different Euclidean setups and proposes control law in binocular-stand vision case. The experimental simulation shows that such image-based approach is effective in performing the precise alignment between the robot end-effector and the object.

  • In this paper, we propose the effects of coordinative locomotor training in body alignment of high school baseball players. Coordinative locomotor training was applied to 20 subjects in the experimental group for 30 minutes, 5timess aweek for 4 weeks. Body alignmen was measured using a formertic, and variables representing body alignment included trunk inclination, trunk imbalance, pelvic tilt, pelvic torson, kyphotic angle and lordotic angle. The results of this study were as follows: As for the Body alignment, there were significantly increased in kyphotic angle and lordotic angle in the experimental group. From the above results, it seems that coordinative locomotor training has a positive effects on the body alignment of high school baseball players. The coordinative locomotor training was able to produce confirmation that body alignment change in the case of effective exercise interventions in high school baseball players. Coordinative locomotor training is thought to be effective in preventing physical imbalance in high school baseball.

  • Railroads have been developed as public transportation and made a great contribution to national economic growth. But after the mid-20th century, its qualities have been getting low because of focusing on the investment and development of cars and airplanes. Its role which is getting the excellent merits on the mass transportation, rapid transit, safety, state period, energy efficiency, and prevention of environmental pollution has been reconsidered. Elements of horizontal alignment are needed in the case where the existing railroad lines should be improved or moved. If its design drawing was lost or damaged, it is impossible to recover. It is not easy to repair for it as disasters. We must understand an existing railroad line to bring a function included a basic geography situation. In this study, we acquire, analyze, and process the digital images of the railroad and then reappear shape of three dimension. And we expect to be utilized to construct the facility information by extracting the alignment elements of existing railroad lines reversely.

  • The purpose of this raper is to address the negative impedance instability in DC/DC converters. We present the negative impedance instability of PWM DC/DC converters loaded by constant power loads (CPLs). An approach to design digital controllers for DC/DC converters Is presented. The proposed method, called Power Alignment control technique, is applied to DC/DC step-down choppers operating in continuous conduction or discontinuous conduction modes with CPLs. This approach uses two predefined state variables instead of conventional pulse width modulation (PWM) to regulate the output voltage. A comparator compares actual output voltage with the reference and then switches between the appropriate states. It needs few logic gates and comparators to be implemented thus, making it extremely simple and easy to develop using a low-cost application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) for converters with CPLs. Furthermore, stability of the proposed controllers using the small signal analysis as well as the second theorem of Lyapunov is verified. Finally, simulation and analytical results are presented to describe and verify the proposed technique.

  • In this paper, we investigate the degrees of freedom (DoF) of a multi-cell multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) interference broadcast channel (IBC) with non-cooperation distributed base stations (BS), where each BS serves users of its corresponding cell. When all BSs simultaneously transmit their own signals over the same frequency band in the MIMO IBC, the edge users in each cell will suffer the inter-cell interference (ICI) and inter-user interference (IUI) signals. In order to eliminate the ICI and IUI signals, a distributed space time interference alignment (DSTIA) approach is proposed where each BS has only limited access to distributed moderately-delay channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT). It is shown that the DSTIA scheme can obtain the appreciate DoF gains. In addition, the DoF upper bound is asymptotically achievable as the number of antenna at each BS increases. It is shown that the DSTIA method can get DoF gains over other interference alignment schemes with delayed CSIT in literature. Moreover, the DSTIA method can attain higher DoFs than the IA schemes with global CSIT for certain antenna configurations.

  • Effect of the joint details on the stress distribution over a slot structure has been studied in order to improve its fatigue life using a finite element analysis. The joint details of interest are the radius and height of scallop at the stiffener as well as the mis-alignment between the stiffener and longitudinal member. For a slot structure currently used, the stiffener heel is subjected to the maximum stress for a given external load, where is a potential fatigue crack initiation site. The stresses at the stiffener heel and toe decrease both by increasing the scallop radius and more significantly by increasing the mis-alignment while no notable effect of the scallop height on it is appreciated. A proper combination of these factors makes it possible to reduce the stresses at the stiffener heel and In, theoretically, more than 50%. This is attributed to the modification of the stress distribution over the slot structure including the transition of the maximum stressed region from the stiffener heel to the slot surface of the transverse web. Such then results in a g[eat improvement of the fatigue life of the slot structure.
