  • The paper examines the ride performance enhancement that can be obtained by applying hydraulic semiactive vibration absorbers(SAVa) to alter the compliance characteristics of the seat/wheel suspension system. The work relies on a consistent model of the (nonlinear) hydrodynamics of the SAVA. A recently developed Lyapunov control scheme is used to provide regulation.. The performance is first examined assuming a quarter car with a seat/seat mounted mass. The paper then employs a quarter car/seat with a two mass ISO model of the seated human . The simulated results indicated that a reduction of 45% of the peak vertical acceleration is achievable with new system.

  • Whole body vibration is very important for operators in construction equipment (CE) industry. There is ISO 2631 regulation to protect operators of CE. Recently WBV is one of critical performance parameters of CE to give operators much better comfortable working environment. And there are many kinds of numerically simplified human body model for the motor industry. We applied one human body model in ISO 5982 for the CE development at early stage. And we've checked the validity of this model to consider WBV by the operator comfort point of view.

  • The bedsore prevention cushion serves to prevent the skin on the buttocks of a wheelchair user from being damaged through friction with the wheelchair seat. This is because it absorbs some of the weight applied to the wheelchair seat and allows the weight to be applied evenly to the entire contact surface. For the impact test, which is part of the performance testing of bedsore prevention cushions, a hip model that represents the sitting posture of a wheelchair user is required. In this study, a hip model was manufactured for impact testing of bedsore prevention cushions for wheelchairs. Performance tests for pressure bedsore prevention cushions for wheelchairs include KSP 0236, a Korean standard, and KS P ISO 16840-2, an ISO international standard. The hip model proposed in KS P ISO 16840-2 was more suitable for impact testing of bedsore prevention cushions for wheelchairs. However, the guidelines for making hip models proposed by international standards need to be modified to reflect the advancement of model making technology and use easier methods. We propose a new hip model production method that produces a hip model out of plastic all at once and additionally attaches SS-41 steel plates processed into the shape of the hip to make the mass of the model similar to the human body.

  • This paper introduces new approaches attempted to evaluate quantitatively the effects of repeated shocks exposed to human. This attempt, by the members of ISO TC 108 / CS4, has been made to add a standardised draft of ISO 2631 Part 1 which covers newly the human response to repeated shocks. It contains the review of previous work related to shocks responses to human and suggests a mathematical model to predict the three-axis lumbar spine accelerations from the measured seat accelerations. The predicted accelerations are used to evaluate the vibration dose to the spine. The evaluated dose values are shown to enable the assessment of adverse health effects.

  • In this study, vibration properties of seat and human body are analyzed through test and numerical analysis methods by taking into account the viscoelastic characteristics of polyurethane foam as seat material which is applied for vehicle. These viscoelastic characteristics which show nonlinear and quasi-static behavior are obtained by compression test. In addition, the viscous elastic property of polyurethane foam is modelled mathematically by using convolution integral and nonlinear stiffness model. In order to analyze the performance on ride comfort of seat, vertical vibration model is established by using dynamic model of seat and vertical vibration model of human body at ISO5982, and so the related motion equations are derived. A numerical analysis simulation is applied by using the nonlinear motion equation with Runge-Kutta integral method. The dynamic responses of seat and human body on the input of vibration acceleration measured at the floor of the railway vehicle are examined. The variation of the index value at ride comfort on seat design parameters is analyzed and the methodology on seat design is suggested.

  • This paper presents a new approximation for the crystalline lens of the human eye with refracting surfaces based on schematic eye during accommodation. A new model eye describes the iso- indical profiles in the form of symmetric spherical surfaces. A vary important condition which was imposed upon the parameters (thickness, radius) was the lens volume conservation during accommodation.

  • In earth moving construction equipment used for rough and dangerous works, seat suspension system is the only means for reducing the vibration transmitted to the operator. Thus ISO(International Organization for Standardization) 7096 suggests a recommendation for the vibration characteristics of the seat suspension system in order to protect the human beings from excessive vibrationl. In this research, a new mechanical type seat suspension system is designed and a mathematical model, effective design parameters of the seat suspension system are determined and concept design strategy is presented.

  • In Japan, where ISO14001 certifications have passed the 10,000 mark, the need for environmental management has taken firm root among companies. However, in the small-and medium-enterprise sector, and among tiny businesses, there are firms not obtaining ISO certification due to their concern about human resources and increased work load. On the other hand, among businesses that have already succeeded in gaining ISO certification. one does not sense any growth with regard to the continual improvement. Voices from certain quarters indicate there is a lack of incentive to keep on improving. With this background, we herewith present a new system to evaluate the level of environmental management in a company by means of a 5-step system.

  • Voice Recognition has recently been improved with AI(Artificial Intelligence) and has greatly improved the false recognition rate and provides an effective and efficient Human Machine Interface (HMI). This trend has also been applied in the defense industry, particularly in the aviation, F-35. However, for the quality evaluation of Voice Recognition, the defense industry, especially the aircraft, requires measurable quantitative models. In this paper, the quantitative evaluation model is proposed for applying Voice Recognition to aircraft. For the proposal, the evaluation items are identified from the Voice Recognition technology and ISO/IEC 25000(SQuaRE) quality attributes. Using these two perspectives, the quantitative evaluation model is proposed under aircraft operation condition and confirms the evaluation results.

  • There are increasing policies and safeguards to prevent various human resource losses with the development of automotive industry. Currently ISO26262 $1^{st}$ edition has been released in 2011 to ensure functional safety of electrical and electronic systems and the $2^{nd}$ edition will be released in the second half of 2016 as part of a trend. The E/E (Electrical & Electronics) system requirements verification is required through walk-through, 인스펙션, semi-formal verification and formal verification in ISO 26262. This paper describe the efficiency of model checking for the E/E system requirements verification by applying the product development project of ASIL (Automotive Safety Integrity Level) D for the electrical parking brake system.
