In foreign countries, ISNI-based creative work identification and linkage services have been established and operated in various fields, while in Korea, ISNI utilization and linkage services limited to some fields are operated mainly by the National Library of Korea. The purpose of this study is to propose an ISNI-based linkage and utilization service that can be applied in Korea. To achieve the purpose of this study, we examined overseas ISNI linkage cases and identified the requirements of related organizations. We also proposed four ways to build ISNI sharing and convergence services. These include establishing Identifiers Co-operation Initiatives (ICI), establishing creator profiles, activating ISNI through the publishing industry, and activating ISNI services through external linkages. We hope that this study will serve as a basis for building ISNI-based linkage and utilization services.

The purpose of this study is to present technical elements to improve the data utilization of the ISNI Korea Consortium, which is operated by the National Library of Korea, which is responsible for the registration of Korean names. The ISNI Korea Consortium aims to register various creation-related information in addition to bibliographic-related individual and organization name information. To this end, this study examines the ISNI Korea consortium, which is a data provider's consultative body, among other things, the metadata status of copyright organizations and the linked data specification of ISNI. As a result, data acquisition, refining, storage, identifier management, consortium metadata management, five in total, and RDF data management (repository) in terms of linked data, RDF data issuance, RDF data retrieval, RDF data inquiry, RDF data Eight technical elements, including download, ontology inquiry, standard term inquiry and mapping information management, were derived.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the perceptions of the organizations in the fields of academics, arts, humanities, and music in Korea on the International Standard Name Identifier (ISNI) which is developed by International Standard Organization (ISO) for assuring the public identities of creators, contributors, and producers to contents in the fields. National Library of Korea (NLK), one of the official registration agencies of ISNI in Korea, launched a consortium, ISNI-Korea, with various organizations in the fields to promote the ISNI registration and application. In this study, focused group interviews were carried out with participants from a total of 13 organizations; these organizations were divided into three groups by the progress on collaboration with NLK at the ISNI-Korea consortium. The current status of the personnel or membership information management by organizations, their expectations and barriers for using ISNI, and the ISNI application to the fields have been discussed intensively during the interviews. Findings from this study could benefit NLK to develop the strategies to promote ISNI in the fields. This study also proposed follow-up studies to enhance the use of ISNI in Korea.

As ISNI spreads, the process and utilization method of authority control that identifies and links individual or group names is also expanding. In this study, the characteristics of the connection and utilization of ISNI and national authorities in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany were derived, and a plan to improve the connection and utilization of national authorities and ISNI was presented, focusing on the National Library of Korea. Focusing on major countries actively participating in the establishment and utilization of ISNI since its founding, national authorities and ISNI linkage methods and ISNI data used in services were analyzed. The implications of this study for the linkage and convergence of national authority and ISNI data were: first, applying ISNI to support authority work, second, establishing a close cooperation system with the publishing community, and third, establishing infrastructure for linking ISNI and authority records at the national level, and finally, providing user service pages based on authority data.

ISNI is a relay identifier that can integrate universal archival data and has the advantage of being flexibly applied to various fields compared to ORCID, which is limited to academic researchers, but in Korea, it is overwhelmingly issued to researchers and educators, and its purpose is gradually fading. In particular, overseas, ISNI issuance is active with the active participation of the publishing industry, but in Korea, there is no issuance through the publishing industry. This study was designed to expand the issuance of ISNIs to various fields including the Korean publishing industry. In order to achieve the research objectives, in-depth interviews were conducted with representatives of the existing ISNI-KOREA consortium organizations and potential consortium expansion organizations such as the publishing industry. As a result of the interviews, four policy implications were drawn as a way to revitalize ISNI: reorganizing its own system, strengthening governance, promotion and education, and system linkage. To address these policy implications, we proposed a mid- to long-term development plan centered on four policy goals and 12 key tasks. This study is expected to help the National Library of Korea, which operates the ISNI-KOREA consortium, develop policies related to ISNI activation.

This study was conducted with the aim of identifying the current status of the national authority data construction project centered on the National Library of Korea for the effective construction and utilization of national knowledge information resources. It also aimed to reveal the possibility and improvement of the national information system with the international standard identification system, and suggesting future development plans. To this end, this study conducted interviews and questionnaires with members of the Korean National Authority Data Sharing System(KNASS). The survey consisted of items related to the current status and difficulties related to the authority, the use of the KNASS, the recognition and utilization of identifiers, the awareness and utilization of the linkage with ISNI, the Importance-Performance Analysis for activating the KNASS, and the overall satisfaction and improvement direction. As a result of the analysis, it was proposed to develop rules and guidelines related to the authority works, to increase the quantity and quality of authority data, to raise understanding of the importance and establish a efficient work system, to diversify the authority service and develop a utilization model, to link the KNASS with international identifiers, and to share the necessity of the KNASS.

This study aims to evaluate the relationship between bank capital, efficiency, and risk in Islamic banks. We use data from 129 Islamic banks in the world, retrieved from various data sources. We retrieved specific banking data from Moody's Analytics BankFocus and Thomson Reuters Eikon, while data at the country level was obtained from the World Bank website. This study uses various estimates both Pooled OLS (Ordinary Least Square) and Random Effect (RE). However, to overcome the issue of serial correlation which could cause bias in the results of the study, we used fixed-effect (FE) cluster estimates. The research results confirm the previous findings that bank capital positively affects bank stability (natural logarithm of Z-Score) and negatively affects credit risk (loan loss provision to total liabilities). The findings also show that efficiency has the same effect. The interaction test of bank capital and efficiency shows that efficiency encourages banks to reduce risk, including when bank capital is relatively lower. This finding is expected to have implications for the authorities to boost bank efficiency in addition to establishing several regulations related to capital. The efficiency implemented by the bank will encourage banks to act prudently so that the bank can maintain its performance through risk mitigation.

This study analyzed the methods for representing and linking personal information in the linked data of National Library of Korea and provided suggestions for expanding the scope of identifying and linking of the personal information. As a result, the personal information as a subject has been dealt with a concept, where the personal information as a contributor has been linked with a vocabulary of personal name. In addition, there have not been assured of including additional information except existing authority data in the process of building the linked data. Therefore, this study suggested that linking personal information as a subject and personal information as a contributor was essential for the quality of linked data. In addition, we proposed to provide additional information related to the person in linked data for expanding the scope of access points in information discovery.

Despite repeated efforts to develop a methodological foundation for assembling collaborative authority data in South Korea, issues such as the establishment of a standard authority model and standard authority construction as well as the reconfiguration of existing entities in authority building have prevented such research from generating a cooperative push for nation-wide authority data and progressing toward concrete implementation. The formulation of a collaborative and well-utilized collection of national authority data accordingly calls for 1) a practical approach to supporting both established authority data contributors and newly organized avenues of mutual participation in authority building, 2) committed involvement on the part of national institutions capable of providing the project with sustained assistance, and 3) a standard identification system which allows multiple organizations to merge their data. This study addresses the challenges of the current environment by taking stock of the key components necessary for the creation of collaborative authority data and using a Semantic Web-based interoperable VIVO ontology model to propose a viable national authority data framework.
