본 고에서는 일본의 ISDN 서비스의 운영 현황에 대해 살펴보았다. 일본의 경우 '84년 ISDN시험망의 구축 및 '88년 INS-Net 64 상용 서비스를 개시한 후 현재까지 가입자가 계속 증가하는 추세로, 서비스의 종류가 상당히 다양하며 다른 망(전화망, 패킷망)과의 접속도 이루어져 있다. 국내의 경우 '90년 시험망이 구축되고 '93년 하반기부터 ISDN 상용서비스를 개시하여, 가입자의 요구를 만족시키고 타통신망과의 통합을 추진하는 과정에 있는 바, 본 고에서 분석한 일본의 현황 분석 결과는 이러한 국내 ISDN 서비스의 조기 구축에 참고모델로서 도움이 될 것이다.

KT는 ''93년 12월 국내에 ISDN 상용서비스를 개시하였고 ''94년 하반기 제1차 국제 ISDN 서비스 제공을 목표로 하고 있으며 2가지 형태로 국제 ISDN 서비스를 제공할 예정이다. 본고에서는 이들 서비스 각각의 특징 및 망구성도를 살펴보고 국제 ISDN을 위한 신호망 및 루팅방법을 소개하고 있으며 또한, 국제 ISDN 서비스를 제공하기 위해서 양국간 수행해야할 여러 가지 연동시험의 구성 및 시험항목에 관해 고찰한다.

선진국에서 ISDN 상용서비스를 개시한 지 벌써 수년이 지났고 일부 국가에서는 통신사업자 및 단말 제조업자의 지속적인 보급 노력에 힘입어 ISDN 서비스가 보편화된 상태이다. 후발국들도 망의 디지틀화를 시작하여 ISDN 서비스 도입을 서두르거나 이미 제공하기 시작했다. 국내에도 ''93년 12월 ISDN 서비스를 상용화하여 제공하기 시작하였고 계속 그 시설 확장 및 제공지역 확대를 재촉하고 있다. 본고에서는 유럽, 미주, 아시아 각국의 ISDN 추진현황을 간략히 기술하고자 한다.

In this thesis, two possible schemes for power feeding are considered. The first one is the network power feeding, and the other is the power feeding from the rechargeable battery. Though each scheme has its merits and demerits, the domestic network operator has proposed the latter due to the large deviation of line resistance, high power loss, and safety. This scheme, however, has several problems. The usage is limited by the life of battery leading to the failure of minimal voice service for many hours. The space occupation of that battery is another serious problem. Moreover, the network opeator should have overhead of maintenance and repair. In order to alleviate such the difficulties, the sealing current is introduced through the subscriber loop. Flowing the current into the loop prevents from rusting. This thesis designs a power controller using PEB2025 to control various amount, duration, and period of this sealing current, to achieve the optimum current supply for sealing.

In the multimedia tele-medical system the medical informations are stored and managed in multimedia database. Also, multimedia DBMS is essential in order to manage large scale medical informations, and the remote access function is necessary for the distributed processing at all around the hospital. For the multimedia tele-medical information that is composed of image/picture, data, video, and audio, a high-speed telecommunication network is necessary that can provide separated connections for each medical information type with different QoS. The commercial DBMSs are based on the TCP/IP socket API(Application Programming Interface) that does not provide multiple QoS. Also, each commercial DBMS has its own API that is incompatible with other DBMS. In this paper, we propose a multimedia DBMS agent for the remote access of the multimedia database in the tele-medical system. The proposed multimedia DBMS agent is based on the ATM API that can provide high-speed data transfer capability and multiple QoS connections. Also, the proposed multimedia DBMS agent is independent of the commercial DBMS. We explain the functional architecture of the multimedia DBMS agent, implementation technology on the ATM network environment, and the result of performance analysis.
