혁신제품으로서의 기능성 소재 유아복의 채택 단계에 미치는 영향 요인 -제품 특성, 소비자 특성, 커뮤니케이션 특성을 중심으로- (Influential Factors on the Adoption of Performance Infants' Wear -Focusing on Product Attributes, Consumer Traits, and Communication Characteristics-)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that influence consumers' adoption of performance infants' wear made of functional textiles. Based on Innovation Diffusion Model, product attributes, consumer traits, and communication characteristics were considered. A survey was carried out with a convenience sample of 241 housewives who have infants under 4 year-old, living in the Seoul metropolitan area. To analyze the data, SPSS 10.0 was used employing ANOVA, Duncan's post-hoc comparison, $X^2$, and f-test. The participants were classified into 4 groups based on their levels of adoption of performance infants' wear: No-Cognition, Negative Attitude, Positive Attitude, and Purchasing groups. There were significant differences among the four groups in terms of their perception of product attributes, communication characteristics, and personal traits. In terms of product attributes, the Positive Attitude group and Purchasing group showed higher perception of relative advantage, compatibility, trialability and observability than other groups. These groups were also high in terms of their tendency of actively seeking for additional product information, and particularly relied on the information from experts on TV or the Internet, personal experience posted on the Internet, or their own experience. Those who were in professional, well-educated and high income brackets were more likely to be Purchasing group than Positive Attitude group, which means once the positive attitude was formed they are likely to purchase the product.

A Study on Intention to Adopt Digital Payment Systems in India: Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic

  • Digitalization and digital transformations have metamorphized the face of Financial Inclusion globally, more so, in cash obsessed economies like India. The purpose of our study is to empirically analyze the users' intention to adopt digital payment systems, post Demonetisation, during the COVID-19 pandemic in India. The conceptual framework for the study is based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) adoption model with added operationalized constructs of Perceived Risk and Stickiness to use Cash. A total of 326 respondents were surveyed using a pre-tested questionnaire during the Nationwide Lockdown 3.0 in India. These responses were analyzed using Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) technique. The findings of the study revealed that performance expectancy and facilitating conditions directly influence the intention of individuals to use digital payment systems, whereas the effect of perceived ease of use on digital payment systems is mediated through the attitude towards the digital payment systems during COVID-19 pandemic situation. Implications of the proposed adoption model are discussed. This will enable the other developing economies to formulate a digital ecosystem, that is here to stay even after the pandemic.

적층식 제조(Additive manufacturing) 기술동향 (Technology Trend of the additive Manufacturing (AM))

  • A three-dimensional physical part can be fabricated from a three-dimensional digital model in a layer-wise manner via additive manufacturing (AM) technology, which is different from the conventional subtractive manufacturing technology. Numerous studies have been conducted to take advantage of the AM opportunities to penetrate bespoke custom product markets, functional engineering part markets, volatile low-volume markets, and spare part markets. Nevertheless, materials issues, machines issues, product issues, and qualification/certification issues still prevent the AM technology from being extensively adopted in industries. The present study briefly reviews the standard classification, technological structures, industrial applications, technological advances, and qualification/certification activities of the AM technology. The economics, productivity, quality, and reliability of the AM technology should be further improved to pass through the technology adoption lifecycle of innovation technology. The AM technology is continuously evolving through the introduction of PM materials, hybridization of AM and conventional manufacturing technologies, adoption of process diagnostics and control systems, and enhanced standardization of the whole lifecycle qualification and certification methodology.

사회적 영향력과 모바일 서비스의 사용-확산, 그리고 지속적 사용 및 상표 전환의도 간의 관계에 대한 연구 (The Relationships among Social Influence, Use-Diffusion, Continued Usage and Brand Switching Intention of Mobile Services)

  • 본 연구는 혁신적인 모바일 서비스의 사용-확산 관점에서 혁신적인 서비스의 사용량과 사용의 다양성에 사회적 영향력이 어떠한 역할을 하는지 살펴보았다. 본 논문의 연구모형에 포함된 사회적 영향요인은 크게 두 가지인데 이는 네트워크 요인과 상표 동일시이다. 여기서 네트워크 요인은 사회적인 규범과 네트워크 효과를 포괄하는 개념이며, 상표 동일시는 소비자 개인의 자아정체성과 서비스 브랜드와의 일치성을 의미한다. 먼저 네트워크 요인의 경우 모바일 서비스의 사용량에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었으며, 지속사용의도에도 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났는데, 서비스 사용의 다양성에는 별 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 상표 동일시의 경우에는 사용량과 사용의 다양성에 모두 유의한 영향을 미치며 지속사용의도에도 긍정적인 효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 사용한 충성도 지표는 두 가지인데 하나는 모바일 서비스의 지속사용의도이고 또 하나는 상표애호도 즉 상표 전환의도이다. 이 두 가지 변수 중 전자는 서비스 카테고리에 대한 충성도이고 후자는 상표에 대한 충성도인데 서로 다른 의미를 갖는 만큼 연구 결과도 다르게 나왔다. 즉, 모바일 서비스의 사용량과 사용의 다양성은 모두 지속사용의도에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤으나, 상표 전환의도에의 경우에는 사용량만이 유의한 영향을 주었고 가설과 반대로 사용량이 높을수록 오히려 상표 전환의도가 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 특정 혁신 서비스를 사용해 본 얼리어답터 고객들이 다양한 사업자의 서비스를 이용해 보고자 하는 니즈가 있음을 보여 준 것으로 이해할 수 있다.

물리적 상점과 가상 상점의 협업적 경로전략: 감각상품을 중심으로 (A Collaborative Channel Strategy of Physical and Virtual Stores for Look-and-feel Products)

  • Some consumers prefer online and others prefer offline. What makes them prefer online or offline? There has been a lack of theoretical development to adequately explain consumers' channel switching behavior between traditional physical stores and new virtual stores. Through consumers' purchase decision processes, this study examined the reasons why consumers changed channels depending on purchase process stages. Consumer's purchase decision process could be divided into three stages: pre-purchase stage, purchase stage, and post-purchase stage. We used the intention of channel selection as a surrogate dependent variable of channel selection. And some constructs, that is, channel function, channel benefits, customer relationship benefits, and perceived behavioral control, were selected as independent variables. In buying look-and-feel products, it was identified that consumers preferred virtual stores to physical stores at pre-purchase stage. To put it concretely, all constructs except channel benefits were more influenced to consumers at virtual stores. This result implied that information searching function, which is a main function at pre-purchase stage, was better supported by virtual stores than physical stores. In purchase stage, consumers preferred physical stores to virtual stores. Specially, all constructs influenced much more to consumers at physical stores. This result implied that although escrow service and trusted third parties were introduced, consumers felt that financial risk, performance risk, social risk, etc. still remained highly online. Finally, consumers did not prefer any channel at post-purchase stage. But three independent variables, i.e. channel function, channel benefits, and customer relationship benefits, were significantly preferred at physical stores rather than virtual stores at post-purchase stage. So we concluded that physical stores were a little more preferred to virtual stores at post-purchase stage. Through this study, it was identified that most consumers might switch channels according to purchase process stages. So, first of all, sales representatives should decide that what benefits should be given them through virtual stores at the pre-purchase stage and through physical stores at the purchase and post-purchase stages, and then devise collaborative channel strategies.

EVALUATION OF SUSTAINABILITY OF CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS: A FRAMEWORK FOR THE NEW ZEALAND CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

  • The concepts of 'sustainable development', 'sustainable construction' and 'green building' have been elevated to priority levels in all types and phases of construction project development worldwide. Consultants and contractors are now required to seriously consider the impact of their operations on the natural environment and the society, and consequently adopt sustainable construction practices in the development process to minimize and mitigate the negative impacts of their activities. However, existing sustainability rating tools apply to the design, post-construction and operation phases of a building; no tool exists for the rating of the performance of the contractor or the project team at the construction phase. This study aimed to develop a model for evaluating the sustainability of construction operations, drawing on the global best practice standards on sustainability. Practical applications of the model were carried out through case studies to evaluate the performances of fifteen construction firms in New Zealand. The developed model and the outcomes of the case studies were presented, including potential areas of weaknesses, strengths, constraints to achievement or adoption of sustainable construction practices and areas for improvement in the operations of the firms. The successful application of the developed model in practice shows its usefulness and ease of application. It is therefore recommended for adoption as a simple but effective system for measuring and reporting on sustainability performance or sustainability of construction operations of firms in New Zealand and elsewhere.

한국에서 유통정보기술 투자가 주가에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 : RFID 사례를 중심으로 (Distribution Information Technology Investment and the Market Value of the Firm : Focusing on RFID case)

  • Purpose - This paper investigates how the market value of the firms are impacted by distribution information technology investment in Korea over time and across markets, industries and project characteristics. This is the first empirical study on the market payoffs from the RFID investment in Korea. The purpose of this study is to provide a appropriate guideline for investors and practitioners with respect to the announcement representing RFID adoption in Korea. This reaction guideline will stimulate the practitioners to monitor and evaluate the benefits and costs of the innovative RFID technology. Research design, data, and methodology - This paper employs event study methodology to analyze the payoffs from distribution information technology investment announcements over a fifteen-year period from 2003 to 2017. Event study method is based on the assumptions such as market efficiency, unanticipated RFID invest announcements and no confounding effects in the data. This study collected the information on RFID investment announcements by using a full text search engine Bigkinds provided by Korea Press Foundation over a fifteen-year period from January 2003 through December 2017. This paper selected 88 announcements representing RFID adoption by 46 firms. This paper estimated the payoffs from RFID investment announcement through events windows by using the market model of Mcwilliams and Siegel (1997) and calculated the Z-values. Using this test statistics we could infer if RFID adoption make large differences in abnormal returns across various classifications of the firms. Results - There is significant positive market returns from the announcement representing distribution information technology investment in the pre-2009 time period, the significances of payoffs disappear in the post-2009 time period. For this reason investors or practitioners can understand the importance of market entry time and the fact that the greater rewards may belong to early innovators while late imitators cannot reap such a rewards. This paper also find that there is a large differences in the payoffs from the announcement across markets, industries and project characteristics. Conclusions - Analysing the selected sample of 88 announcements representing RFID Adoption over fifteen-year period from 2003 to 2017, this study find that there is not only significant abnormal excess returns from RFID investment announcements but also there is great differences in the abnormal returns over time and across firm sizes or affiliated markets, industries, and project characteristics. This means that there are considerable values for the investors across various firm classifications. The findings of this paper provide useful implications for the practitioners to make judicious decisions whether to adopt the innovative technologies in general or not considering the various concrete circumstances in Korea.

정보기술 역량과 기업 성과 간 관계 재고찰: 전사적자원관리(ERP) 시스템 도입 효과를 중심으로 (Revisiting the Relationship between Information Technology Capability and Firm Performance: Focusing on the Impact of the Adoption of Enterprise Resource Planning Systems)

  • 연구목적 기존 정보시스템 연구에서 정보기술 역량과 기업 성과 간 관계에 대해 다양한 관점의 많은 연구들이 있었음에도 불구하고 아직까지 공통된 결론에 이르지는 못하고 있다. 본 연구는 전사적자원관리(ERP) 시스템 도입을 중심으로 정보기술 역량을 파악하여 정보기술 역량과 기업 성과 간 관계에 대한 재고찰을 시도한다. 연구설계/방법론/접근법 기존 관련 연구들은 1990년대나 2000년대 초반의 다소 오래된 기업사례들을 대상으로 하거나 ERP를 도입한 처리그룹과 이에 상응하는 통제그룹을 적절히 매칭하지 못한 채 양자 간 관계를 분석하고 있다는 점에서 자료 및 분석 방법 측면의 문제점을 갖고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 2000년대 후반 들어 전사적자원관리 시스템을 도입한 기업들을 중심으로 성향점수매칭(propensity score matching) 및 이중차이분석(difference-in-difference) 방법을 적용하여 전사적자원관리 시스템을 도입한 기업과 이에 상응하는 미도입 기업을 체계적으로 매칭하고 이들 간의 기간 간 성과 차이를 분석한다. 결과 본 연구 결과에 따르면 전사적자원관리 시스템 도입 기업과 미도입 기업 간 수익성 지표에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 정보시스템의 전유가 경쟁력을 제공했던 과거와 달리 최근 표준화된 정보시스템의 등장과 더불어 단순히 정보시스템 도입 만으로는 더 이상 경쟁 우위를 달성할 수 없다는 점을 시사하고 있다.

  • This review paper provides a detailed analysis of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottle recycling in Japan. Japan is a global leader in PET bottle recycling due to its advanced regulatory framework and proactive industry initiatives. Japan's success attributes to the widespread adoption of bottle-to-bottle recycling, driven by the beverage industry's commitment to sustainability. By utilizing post-consumer PET bottle recovery and food-grade mechanical recycling technologies, Japan has achieved significant milestones in PET bottle recycling. This paper examines regulatory frameworks, collection systems, reprocessing facilities, and food safety assessments to highlight Japan's innovative approaches to PET bottle recycling and their impact on global sustainability efforts. Drawing parallels with Korea's early stages of PET recycling, it suggests involving major beverage companies and re-evaluating regulations to promote bottle-to-bottle recycling. The focus is on the implications for Korea to promote circular economy principles in plastic recycling.

포스트 코로나 시대의 원격진료 앱 사용 의도에 대한 연구: 테크노 스트레스의 영향을 중심으로 (The Impact of Technostress on Telemedicine App Usage Intentions in the Post-COVID19 Era)

  • This study explores the impact of technostress on the intention to use telemedicine applications (apps) in the post-COVID19 era, a period marked by the rapid popularization of such apps to mitigate COVID19 infection risks. Utilizing the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the study identifies variables and proposes a research model. A questionnaire survey involving 364 adults is analyzed through Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling. Results indicate positive significance for variables linked to the TAM (perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude, and intention to use). Notably, techno-complexity negatively affects perceived ease of use, while techno-unreliability negatively impacts perceived usefulness and ease of use. Surprisingly, techno-uncertainty has a positive effect on both perceived usefulness and ease of use. Techno-overload, although negatively impacting perceived usefulness and ease of use, does not reach statistical significance. The study underscores the need to consider both positive and negative aspects, including technostress, when evaluating telemedicine app usage. Additionally, recognizing the varying impact of technostress based on users' ICT(Information and Communication Technology) confidence levels is crucial. Overall, these findings contribute academically to telemedicine app adoption literature and hold industrial significance by providing a user perspective on these apps.
