  • In this paper, we consider a secure and efficient metering scheme to measure the interaction between clients and servers in interned advertising. In most cases internet advertising is composed of clients, servers, and an audit agency who collects a metering information about the number of clients that were served by each server. The metering scheme should always be secure against fraud attempts by servers which maliciously try to inflate the number of their clients and against clients that attempt to disrupt the metering process. So we suggest secure and efficient metering schemes, based on some cryptographic techniques, which are also very accurate and robust.

  • An electronic watt-hour meter with high-precision measurement technology can provide many valuable metering data of a real-time system measurements, such as per-phase voltage, ampere, active power, reactive power, apparent power, power factor, and system frequency. Also many of accumulated metering data such as active energy, reactive energy, apparent energy, and load profile can be gettable from an electronic watt-hour meter[1]. This paper presents an approach of the small-sized AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) that provides customers with a very valuable electrical service. This AMR service transmits lots of a valuable metering data by using ZigBee communication module, so that users resided in their premises can use the information to audit a power quality and improve their electrical conditions by using the PQ monitoring device equipped with ZigBee receiver. This PQ monitoring device shows metering data on LCD and transmits to the PC through an internal network. Also, the device can keep the valuable meter data into a built-in non-volatile memory. The final goal of this paper is to better understand the power quality of electrical systems and offer the power qualify information for the convenience of all power consumers.

  • This study analyzed the digital curation process targeting the foreign 10 university libraries for the efficient utilization of the research data. The analysis was conducted by dividing into 4 parts such as the selection and ingest of data, preservation, access and use, responsibilities and management. The results indicated that research data for selection and ingest include data produced by the faculty members or can be accessible in the university or research institution. The findings also showed that the institutions use Dublin Core, MODS, and PREMIS as a metadata for preservation. In the aspect of approach and use, regulation are decided based on the law and agreement. And in the aspect of responsibility and management, most elements are divided into the management, financial, technical, physical, and personal parts and each audit or sustainability is reviewed.

  • Cloud Computing Environment provides users with a blue print of IT Utopia with virtualization; unbounded computing power and data storage free from the cost and the responsibility of maintenance for the IT resources. But, there are several issues to be addressed for the Cloud Computing Environment to be realized as the blue print because users cannot control the IT resources provided by the Cloud Computing Environment but can only use them. One of the issues is how to secure and to trust data in the Cloud Computing Environment. In this paper, an efficient and practical trust assurance of data with provenance in Cloud Computing Environment.

  • According to the National Contract Law, when determining Estimation cost Contract officers should consider contract quantity, contract period, supply and demand condition, difficulty of contract enforcement, terms and condition, and other various conditions based market price, costing based pricing, and appraisal. And they should not overestimate or underestimate the estimation cost. But the estimation cost system is used as preparedness for audit against the contract law. In this study, we identified the factors affecting estimation cost and analyzed their influence on estimation cost.

  • A rapid development and a wide use of the Internet have expanded a network environment. Further, the network environment has become more complex due to a simple and convenient network connection and various services of the Internet. However, the Internet has been constantly exposed to the danger of various network attacks such as a virus, a hacking, a system intrusion, a system manager authority acquisition, an intrusion cover-up and the like. As a result, a network security technology such as a virus vaccine, a firewall, an integrated security management, an intrusion detection system, and the like are required in order to handle the security problems of Internet. Accordingly, a router, which is a key component of the Internet, controls a data packet flow in a network and determines an optimal path thereof so as to reach an appropriate destination. An error of the router or an attack against the router can damage an entire network. This paper relates to a method for RSMS (router security management system) for secure networking based on a security policy. Security router provides functions of a packet filtering, an authentication, an access control, an intrusion analysis and an audit trail in a kernel region. Security policy has the definition of security function against a network intrusion.

  • In this study, the business structure and characteristics of buying offices used by buyers for apparel productions through global sourcing were analyzed in specifics. Data were acquired through in-depth interviews of twelve merchandisers at representative apparel buying offices. The results of this study can be summarized as following. The business structure of a buying office varied depending on the functions, the item characteristics of products to be manufactured or the characteristics of the major buyers who were the customers. Overall, teams were formed by brands or organizations were formed by functions. Functional teams were divided within each brand team when business teams were divided by brands and personnel was divided by brands occasionally within each functional team when business teams were divided by functions. Business teams were composed of MR which managed the overall business about orders such as factory sourcing, price decision and production management and teams with various specialized skills. The teams with specialized skills were composed of Technical team, Fabric Development team, Colorist team, Quality Assurance (QA) or Quality Control (QC) team, Logistics team, Factory Audit team, and etc. For the future directions on the improvements, ways to increase international competitiveness of buying offices need to be researched and many expressed the opinion that it would be effective to move the offices to countries close to buyers or manufacturing locations as most buyers demand lower prices and shorter lead time than before and it is increasing trend for buyers and factories to do business directly without buying offices in the middle.

  • The Ministry of Construction & Transportation revised the full text of 'The Act for Promoting Housing Construction' that concentrated to the quantitative supply of houses into 'Housing Act' in order to improve the quantity as well as quality of housing construction and management, such as housing welfare, management or improvement of previous houses, in October 2002. Accordingly, local authority need to play more critical roles in the area of multi-family housing management and remodeling. The desirable roles of local authority called for the need are like followings: 1. Local authority should provide professional knowledge for education, direction and consultation of multi-family housing management rather keeping the previous role to control, manage and regulate it. 2. The multi-family housing management should be changed from administration and punishment to incentive-centered institutions. 3. It is necessary to consider neglected people, such as occupants of rental apartment or of a small-sized multi-family housing, who have been excepted from the subject of obligatory management under the current law. 4. For harmonious and professional housing management, local authority need to support the establishment or special companies for housing management and to strengthen the audit on trust management companies. 5. It calls for the studies on management guideline of multi-family housing, standardization of management specifics, reasonable standard for special mending appropriation amount, etc. 6. They should lead the composition of a community by residents harmoniously and support the encouragement of community consciousness to live together.

  • Purpose: Quasi-steady state simulations have played a pivoting role to expand the user group of simulation to design engineers and architects in Korea. Initially they are introduced in the market as a building energy performance rating tool. In domestic practice, however, quasi-steady state simulations seem to be regarded as a de facto simulation only available for energy retrofit. Selection of ECMs and economic feasibility analysis are being decided through these tools, which implies that running these tools has become a norm step of the Investment-grade Audit. Method: This study aims at identifying issues and problems with the current practice via test cases, analyzing the reasons and opportunities, and then eventually suggesting proper uses of quasi-steady state and dynamic simulations. Result: The functionality of quasi-steady state simulations is more optimized to the rating. If they are to used for energy retrofits, their off-the-shelf functions also need to be expanded for customization and detailed reports. Yet their roles may be limited only to the go/no go decision; because their algorithms are still weak at precisely estimating energy and load savings that are required for making investment decisions compared to detailed simulations.
